Every child given the chance to shine brightly....if you are academically minded or excel in a sport which can be bragged about. Begged for homework to help our son, who was not doing well and were promised consistently it would be set but never materialised. Some support is there for kids who are not academic, and some of the staff are good, but it's not consistent so unless you are on them all the time, forget it. My advice, make a pain of yourself if you need support, you will not win any friends, but you will probably do better than we did.

The school I attended during the late 70s and early 80s....I was branded as the worst pupil in the history of the school as I found out twenty years later....but I loved it...apart from an idiot called John Nunn...Who with his friends would punch and bully me at every break for five years. Also for the first year I was at the rushcliff annex in West Bridgford...we was unfortunately the last year to attend this part of Rushcliff comprehensive before they closed it and pulled it down..it was a magical place with bomb shelters still being used as storage rooms and a music room on the second floor with a trap door leading down to a ladder on the wall that took you into the chemistry room. I have no idea if this still goes on, but at the end if term we would gather on a park between Rushcliff and the other one lol to fight for our school.
