Me and my family have been training for a couple of years at Impulse Bjj. It’s such a welcoming, friendly gym with great people to train with, men, women and children. The gym is very well looked after and always improving. Fabio and the team keep the place very clean and a great environment to train. Everyone at the gym is respectful and abides by the mat rules which in Jujitsu is really important and this makes the experience all the better. I’ve made some really good friends here and wouldn’t look to train anywhere else, it’s simply the best!

Childrens, beginners, Intermediate/advance and also a separate ladies class are all available. I wanted my son to learn a martial art with a real world applicability and luckily - Impulse BJJ was nearby. My son was initially hesitant to attend, so I made him a deal: if he attended, I would too. My son left his first class grinning ear-to-ear! My early one-on-one classes with Fabio (which must be done prior to joining the class sessions) were very easy going and low pressure. Eventually I made it to a group class and purchased my gi, which had my son questioning when he would get his. Both my son and I had zero experience with martial arts, but we are both enjoying our sessions at Impulse BJJ and always look forward to class days! It also helps that the everyone that trains there easy is going and friendly.

As someone who was very nervous about getting joining a club for the first time I can’t recommend Impulse highly enough. I was someone with terrible fitness and felt very awkward. However the instructors and all the training partners are so welcoming and friendly I felt right at home. There are no egos here and people just want to train and get better. Fabio and all the other instructors really know their stuff and there is no doubt they can help you no matter whether you are an absolute beginner or looking just to improve. I’ve been coming for 18 months and have the bug and i don’t think I would have had the discipline to keep going without the help I’ve been given.

Great gym, clean facilities, friendly environment and attentive coaches. The classes here are running all week mornings and evenings Gi and No Gi so there’s something to suit everyone here. Alongside having kids classes there’s also ladies only classes which is once a week, this is good for women wanting to join who are maybe intimidated about the thought of joining a mixed class straight away, its a real confidence builder and a great way to learn some of the amazing things that your body is capable of doing. Most women training here have gained the confidence and skills to join the mixed classes also but that would be entirely your preference. I have been training since 2015 and since the very beginning joining Impulse I have always felt welcome and had a positive experience training here, there’s no egos here it’s a great friendly environment to learn Jui Jitsu 🥋!

All I can share is great experiences from Impulse BJJ. Being 33 and out of shape I was concerned I was going to get mauled and be broken after the first session. This could not be further from the truth. Ensuring training is being conducted safely is heavily emphasised, likewise beginners do not roll (spar) until they have demonstrated sufficient competence. The biggest hurdle is overcoming the anxiety of joining the trial class and the first session. If you are on the fence all I can say is do the free trial class and if it’s not for you, nothing is lost. OSS!

BJJ is something I wanted to try for a very long time but was initially very nervous to try it out as I had previously done other martial arts that had put me off due to the Ego of people who were better. One of the first things I noticed about Impulse BJJ was the friendliness of both the coaches and the students who are all friendly and willing to help and support you - You can tell that the coaches put their own effort and time into people rather than doing this for money which is a big plus! All different types of backgrounds train here and you quickly feel like you are part of a family :) I would recommend anyone to at least come and try it out for yourself i'm sure you wont be disappointed.

I started training here a few months ago. I was looking for something that would improve my fitness and give me effective self defence skills (without getting hurt by striking). When I first walked in the atmosphere was so friendly that my initial reservations disappeared instantly. A while ago I tried another BJJ school in Peterborough but the teaching level was nowhere near that of Impulse BJJ, especially for beginners. I couldn't recommend this place more highly.
