A wonderful school set in beautiful grounds. My children are very happy here - they are challenged academically, exposed to a wide range of opportunities and supported by hard working, professional, caring staff. I 100% recommend Edge Grove!

a truly happy school very you feel part of one big family. i was fortunate to spend a decade of my early years at this magical school, sadly senior school was a far cry fro the the nurtue an joy i felt at edge grove. the fields to run, the doughnuts to eat, the teacher the bonfire nights and the christmas pudding find the penny. i am always thankful fro this joy and security i felt. as a dyslexic extra support was exceptional thankyou is not enough if i live local of course i would send my children

A great school. My son loves his school days!
The school offers all kinds of after school activities.
Lunch is great!
Teachers and staffs are always very helpful.
The school takes learning seriously and they balance it well. They don't put too much pressure on the kids.
Another good thing is they have games in 3 out of the 5 school days. My son loves it.
We feel really lucky to be in this school.

Our daughter (now in year 8) has been at Edge Grove since year 6 having spent all her previous schooling in the French system. We joined the school at a time when the new headmaster, Me Evans, was still putting in place his vision, but we felt that he knew exactly what he was wanting to do, and we completely bought into that vision. We have not been disappointed. The pastoral care has been first rate, particularly helping our daughter in the transition to a British Independent school. From what we have seen, any pastoral issues are dealt with speedily and sensitively. Great emphasis is put on politeness and creating the right environment for learning, whilst enjoying everything that the school has to offer. The education curriculum is innovative, supportive and stretching, and the school is doing a fantastic job of supporting all year 8 pupils in preparation for CE, truly differentiating based on the schools they are applying to and the exams they will be taking. Extra-curriculum activities are great too - the Director of Music is fantastic and the improvement in the quality of all school music activities has been marked, while the head of girls' games is really raising the bar too. Staff go beyond what one might expect and respond rapidly and helpfully to any questions or concerns. The parent community is friendly and welcoming. The school certainly deserves its recent rating of Excellent in all regards from the Independent Schools Inspection. I highly recommend the school to any prospective parent.

My two children are extremely happy at Edge Grove. The broad curriculum keeps them stimulated and they are able to take part in a variety of sports, musical activities, drama, art and charitable projects which are always fun and well thought through, and every child is encouraged to get involved. There is a strong team of dedicated teachers who are very accessible and encourage the children to do their best. If a child is bright, they will be stretched and challenged. If they are struggling, they will get support and make progress. Under the guidance of the Headmaster Ben Evans and his wife, the school has really improved over the past few years and the children go to a variety of excellent schools afterwards. It is definitely a school to visit to see for yourself.

For some time I had been looking for the right school for my daughter but what really is the RIGHT school?
I had moved my daughter into a new school in reception taking her away from all her friends. The school she was at was lovely, nurturing and caring but it did not provide the academic level of education which I expected from a private prep school.
However, to move my daughter again was a big risk and I spent over a year before I found Edge Grove. Problem was I only called them the last week of the summer term but Jo Morrison was amazing.
After meeting Ben Evans, the head I knew this was the school for my daughter. He was a real gentleman – he personally showed me the school and his enthusiasm was boundless as we walked around, every child I met was polite and courteous. Everyone was smiling – I felt real warmth! AS I left I telephoned my husband and said I had found the RIGHT school. My daughter sat the assessment within two days and we accepted immediately, realising how lucky we were.
Eleven weeks in, I have a different child. A child who wants to go to school in the mornings and is actually learning. I have been so impressed with the school, they have identified her strengths and weaknesses and she has been placed in the sets based on her ability. BUT, unlike other schools the sets are fluid, you move between them depending on your knowledge of the subject being taught. So a child who can easily do multiplication may be in the top set but a few weeks later may be in the bottom set if struggling with fractions. This fluidity, has shown me how each child is catered for individually.
The other day I was shocked, when testing my son on his Science work, my daughter (his twin) was answering the questions. This has never happened before.
My daughter is also loving the sports and the variety of sports. She had never picked up a Hockey stick until she started Edge Grove – she loved it, netball , tennis, rounders, swimming – you name it – the grounds are incredible!
Finally, I have to write about the communication – this is the best communication I have ever had from a school. They ran workshops for parents at the beginning of term – so we could see how the children were being taught. What is most impressive is on a Monday – as a parent you are sent all the information you need to know about the week ahead and on a Friday – you receive a newsletter so you can see what has happened over the week. In this, you see all the achievements of all the children – sporting, academic and just commendations.
Every time I walk into the school I really feel so happy that we are so lucky that my daughter is here at Edge Grove. All the staff are lovely, the environment and warmth is incredible. I feel part of the Edge Grove family and we have only been there 11 weeks!

I went to Edge Grove from 1958 to 1963. And despite not liking going back at the beginning of each term I still think it was an immensely beneficial experience. The continuity of teaching staff was unsurpassed. The last teacher to teach me, Chris Hart, only left in about 2003. I would recommend this school to any prospective parent. Happy memories, for the most part!
