Took one of my favourite pairs of brogues along to this long-established cobbler in Gorgie to have them resoled. Fitted new leather soles for less than a well-known shoe repair chain quoted for man-made soles. Expert finish to job, and I am very happy with result. I will take other brogues there when they need heeling, soles too. Highly recommend this local business.

Had two pairs of my work shoes heels that were ruined. Gorgie cobblers managed to make them look like new again. Really fast turnaround, good quality service and at a reasonable price. Also used these guys in the past for keys which I found to be better value than the likes of timpsons

Took my one and only pair of dress shoes to gorgie cobblers nor really expecting much to be done with them as I had worn them to death, was told by the repairer that it could be expensive due to the amount of extra work that would need to be undertaken due to my excessive wear. Went back in a few days for collection and was absolutely thrilled to see my battered shoes looking like, e brand new.. great craftsman

Fantastic service. The team at Gorgie Cobblers are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We needed a key cut and the original was bent so they had to adjust the key several times before we could get it to work - all at no additional cost. A local business worth supporting!

My wife phoned up Gorgie Cobblers to enquire about their knife sharpening service, she was very impressed with the person on the phone who took the time to explain his process of sharpening as my wife had had an unsatisfactory job done at another place which has since closed down, so much so she decided to kill 3 birds with one stone and took a full set of kitchen knives to be sharpened and also a pair of shoes and a set of keys. Long story short, she was very happy with the service she received, the knives are like new and razor sharp, her shoes are as good as new and the keys were spot on first time, nice pleasant staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. she now wants to try the engraving service at Christmas so watch this space... Just thought I would add a little extra to my review after using Gorgie Cobblers a few times in the past year... These guys never fail to impress me, my wife and I have used all their services now and have been completely happy with everything, one time I had a key which they didn't recognise and wasn't in any of the catalogues they keep stacked on their counter so the gentleman gave me several different blank keys to try in my lock without charge, one of them did fit and worked perfectly when it was cut. It's great to see there is still businesses out there with the personal touch and who go the little extra distance to help their customers. Still 5 stars from me

These guys really know what shoe repairing is all about - a marked contrast to the shoe-"repair" chain shops that do a bodged job in ten minutes.The price you pay is that they'll need to keep your shoes for 24 hours: on the other hand the real price you pay in cash is less than you'd pay the bodgers. And their repairs last. My teenage grandson, who can wear the soles and heels off a new pair of shoes in weeks, has a pair they fixed nine months ago and if he wasn't about to grow out of them they would have at least another year's life before needing any more attention.

Had some boots resoled and a hole mended here recently. Weren't expensive shoes to begin with but I really like them so stumped up the approx £25 to have the work done which I'm happy enough with. Took around 5 days. Weekday opening hours are a bit problematic if you work 9-5 as I believe they are open 08.30-17.30, but they are open on Saturdays.
