The first time I went to this cobblers, they showed me a ladies boot they had fixed which had been ripped by a dog. The end result was perfect, you never would have known. They are magicians at Kelpis!
I always appreciate their incredible service, care and attention to detail.
B.If you consider your shoes as investments, these guys will ensure they last longer than you do. Attention to detail is the name of their game.
This shop is owned by two brothers, Tony and Andrew. This was my first visit and I took a five pairs of shoes at my friend's recommendation. Having placed my Loakes down (which needed a LOT of work) they knew the model straight away - the expertise is clear.
The workmanship is incredible. Some of my shoes needed resoling, some also needed the heels redone. With an wide variety of sole colours they will match the right colour rubber to the sole as needed. All the shoes came back looking brand new.
They also fix small things that they notice without making a fuss and without bringing it your attention e.g. they repainted the edge of one pair of shoes which were scuffed and they replaced the laces on another pair of shoes which were in tatters - I only noticed this when I went to put them on the next day! A clear sign of experienced cobblers who takes their craft seriously.
As a comparison, I looked online before at what Loake were charging to repair the Loakes I had and it was a lot more than Kelpis. This should put it beyond doubt that what you get with Kelpis is excellent value for investment grade shoes.
