I bought in to Mathews shoes 3 of my most loved boots. All more the 10+ old. Karon Millen boot heal fallen of. Uggs country boots limited addition and a pair of Laura classic (very expensive tall boots) my most loved. I was recommended Mathew but I really had no idea of the skill and talent. My uggs were ready for the bin like No hope it would have to be a miracle. But my GOD when I set eyes on them I could not believe the transformation 🙌 they were like new boots and many more years left in them. My Laura boots top end but no longer. They need everything. High quality shoe repair! I took my 7 year old ugg boots in for a repair - I’d torn a hole in both toes from wear but the rest were fine. Hoping to upcycle rather than buy new the guys at Matthew’s shoe repair did a brilliant job. Christopher at Mathew’s Shoe Repairs has done an excellent job with a pair of leather boots and two pairs of sandals. One of the pairs of sandals was made of velvet and I was so pleased to see he’d taken great care with handling them - in the past I have given treasured delicate suede shoes to cobblers only to see them chuck them around as if they were gum boots! It’s a pleasure to see someone take such pride in their work. It’s the first time I’ve used him and it certainly won’t be the last.

The only thing worse than a strap breaking on your favourite sandals is when it happens on your way to a meeting with no change of shoes available, and that is what happened to me this time last year. Luckily there was a cobbler close by who magically repaired the strap for me there and then and, although a little later than planned, allowed me to turn up to my meeting looking as I had intended. This year the same strap broke on the other foot but still, I couldn’t bring myself to let these sandals go so I asked the same cobbler to repair the second shoe for me. This strap suffered a worse tear so it was more complicated, but what a result! See the photo below. There are just too few expert cobblers left – this is definitely an address worth knowing.

I don’t usually leave reviews but feel obliged to for Mathews Shoe Repairers following the fantastic work they performed on my Loakes. I required a simple resoling and was told to expect them returned as if a new pair - at the time I took this to be a bit of sales-patter. Nevertheless when it came to pick them up the promise was absolutely fulfilled and the shoes looked fantastic. The marginal premium over household repairers more than pays for itself by the quality of their work - not only through the fewer occasions that you will find repairs are required, but also by the friendly service provided. My only regret is not finding them sooner, hence this review so that others do not suffer the same.

A while back, I had some Justin Roper boots that I bought second hand. The toe of the boots was starting to flap so I got a partial resole done at Mathews. The part of the shoe that has been repaired is of better construction than the original shoe. They also polished them up and I don't know what witchcraft they used but the leather looked beautiful. Whilst the cost of having the shoes repaired was not cheap, I really believe that it was worth it. The best show repair shop in London, fact! Have been many times now to either get my soles replaced or remove stains/marks from shoes and they have always returned the shoes better than new. The quality of service is excellent and they genuinely know everything there is to know about shoes. Had my RM William boots re soled here. Basically the sole had become a sponge and were useless really. Took in three very different pairs of shoes for work. Set of boots, smart shoes and more casual. Heels had come off smart shoes, the casual had been worn down everywhere due to years of use and the boots were so damaged they had split the whole underside of each in half, which was starting to affect the material above. All three were fixed to very high standards. They're like brand new, polished, treated, resewn and reheeled. Brilliant work.

I was very impressed with Matthew and his shoe repair shop: I dropped off a good quality, if battered, pair of shoes, and was able to pick them up re-heeled and resoled the next day. What's more, Matthew had noticed where previous cobblers had done a shoddy job, and repaired that as well. The most amazing and welcoming store I’ve ever been. I have used them for both Keys and shoes. I strongly recommended it to my friends and they did trust me and we are all now very happy costumers!!! I love the fact that they treat your shoes as a doctor would treat a patient. They will review it in front of you and if you ask them how will they repair it they will actually explain to you the entire procedure that they follow. If you are a quality fan and not a quantity gypsy that’s where you should go. What amazes me the most is that they will fix your nikes or you designer super expensive shoes with the same care. I took two pairs of Spanish-made, Goodyear-welted dress shoes to Mathews, and I was impressed by the helpfulness of the gentleman behind the counter, who walked me through the pro's and con's of different type of metal toe taps. I received my shoes back, and the rubber soles I asked for are very neatly attached, with Vibram soles and a Dianite heel. Excellent workmanship, great service. I'll be going back.
