Incredibly knowledgeable staff and great product selection. The woman who served me was so patient and went to every effort to ensure I left with the perfect shoe. I have been running with my new shoes for 6 weeks now and they’re great. Couldn’t be happier. Will definitely return for my next pair and would recommend Run and Become to everyone!

What a great experience. Was busy on a Saturday but well worth the wait. I was having a lot of trouble with a previous pair of shoes, Laura was very knowledgeable and listened to me describe the issues I was having. She helped me find the perfect new pair of shoes (had me try on tons of different kinds and watched me run outside the shop) and I couldn't be happier. Will be coming back here.

Needed some new running shoes after moving to London. I found this place just walking distance from Victoria station. Wide variety of choice and staff seemed very knowledgeable of the products and what would best suit your goals. I was very quick in picking my shoes as I knew what I was after but the lovely sales assistant spent ages with my girlfriend until she had found the right pair. Would happily shop here again for my running gear.

So happy I found this excellent store while visiting from the US!! I do ultra running in mountains and found such great clothes and gear- no store in the US carries all this stuff. Plus I had a gait analysis done and got a new wonderful pair of street shoes for that interval training! Wonderful staff, fantastic gear especially for anyone starting out from headlamps to running vests to aftershox headsets to garmin watches to rock tape to nutrition - just an awesome store with wonderful staff! First time visitor. But certainly will be next time visitor...and next time visitor. These folks really really know their stuff. It is not a shoe shop. It is a centre of expertise. The woman who did the gait analysis and choose a variety of shoes for me to check out was brilliant. Unlike other trainer shops where the salesperson does all the talking - this lady listened. She had all the right questions. Makes you feel like you are a unique individual and the truth is everyone's body, including their feet, are different. Wish I had discovered this place years ago. Great technical knowledge; supreme service (although best to book, or you'll be queuing; plus they let you run up and down the street outside to test (new) shoes - and even offer to exchange them after a 20 min run when you get home, if you decide they're not quite right (unlikely!). Visited the 'Run and Become' shop to buy a pair of running trainers (was previously using a pair of Nikes that weren't, in any way, made for anything beyond walking). I had my consultation with Larina -- she was awesome, and extremely informative. I never knew how much time and knowledge went into finding the right running shoe for you. I went to "Run and Become" for the first time today, after searching online for shops specialised in running shoes. I was too late to book an appointment, so on my arrival I had to queue outside for half a hour at least. But this is something I was warned about when calling the store the day before. Also, seeing that each member of the staff was fully focused to one customer at the time, made me wait gladly. The one-to-one service is indeed the best part about the store: Laoura, the person who assisted me, checked my running posture while trying different models and helped me confirm the right one. She even spent about ten minutes trying to find the colour I wanted, which eventually wasn't in stock. In many other shops they would just check once before giving up. I also got a nice discount on my purchase. Definitely a great experience!

I went down to the shop yesterday after trying a few specialist shops around Piccalilli. Despite having to queue for about 20 mins in the sun, the service was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The range of shoes and equipment was excellent. My partner, having started running over lockdown, is new to running shops so I was glad that the experience was a positive one. UPDATE: The shoes that I purchased on this trip wore out quicker than expected (manufacturing issue, nothing to do with the shop), Marina was brilliant with organising the return, and replacing the shoes.

This was the best experience I’ve had buying anything, ever. Honestly, I can’t recommend this shop enough! Barbara was fantastic performing my gait analysis and helping me select a shoe that gives me some gentle ankle support. I was able to try on, and RUN in dozens of different shoes to see what felt the best. The most helpful part of the process for me was putting a different shoe on each foot to help narrow the choice down to the most comfortable/supportive/useful shoe. I also appreciated the women led, women staffed aspect of the experience. The best customer service I've ever received. I've purchased shoes online and wasn't sure about the size. The team at Edinburgh were quick to respond with guidance of the correct size and how to exchange (super easy) New shoes arrived, went for a few runs and experienced pain in my arch/toe. I've called for help and I can't even start to describe the care and attention and the many calls that I received from Edinburgh team in order to make sure that I am running in the right shoes for me. I've ended up at the London branch so the girls there could check my gait. They've spent long time trying out different shoes, checking my running in the street and finally found the right pair for me and exchanged it without any problems! I am so impressed. Made an appointment to have my gait analysis done tried on several trainers. The lady was very polite and wanted to make sure I had the right pair. Unfortunately I had to return the Brooks S21 I purchased as too tight & weren't doing my feet any good. I exchanged them for a pair of HOKA Bondi 7. Amazing service and professionalism! As a new runner I found the online gait analysis extremely helpful and reassuring that I was buying shoes that would keep me healthy and pain free. Everything worked out perfectly - the shoes were shipped really fast, the size (which I would never have picked myself) fits like a glove and I have been working my way up the C25K ladder since I got them with no issues at all so far. I also really like how they already include a free return label in the box and really encourage you to return the shoes if anything is at all wrong. They even told me to test run in the shoes on dry ground outside to see how I like them and assured me that returning would not be an issue after that. Would always go back here when I need another pair fitted in the future!

I have used run and become both in person and online. They were recommended by a friend who runs a lot of marathons. They fitted me for my first pair of marathon shoes. The best shoes I have ever owned.They spent ages with me and my father (who was being fitted a well) and let us try running in the shoes and really tried everything to make sure we got a good fit. That was a year or two ago and after some time off running I've been getting back into it and needed to replace my shoes. Over email they recommended the most similar pair to my last shoes (and gave me a few alternatives too) and when I realized I wanted to add something to my order a few days later they responded quickly and added it on for me. They have always replied to me in a matter of hours. Their customer service is absolutely excelled. They are knowledgeable and responsive. Cannot fault them.

As a new runner, I really appreciated Laura’s professionalism and expert advice. She did a gait analysis, taught me some strengthening exercises, and advised on injury management. She brought out ONE pair of shoes, said “This is best suited to you,” and explained why. And it turned out to be about 1/2 price too. The polar opposite of “hard-sell”, Laura certainly inspires client confidence. Will absolutely return for future purchases.

Brilliant running shop! I went here to buy some new running shoes. I run a lot and had the best experience buying running shoes that I’ve ever had. The assistant was extremely thorough, she had me try on (and run down the street) in 5 pairs of shoes before I decided on a pair. The whole experience took about 30 mins and was very low stress. No particular brands were pushed and they have a great range. I ended up with some great Brooks shoes that still fit well with no blisters 200 kms later. I suggest you wear running clothes or athletic gear if you are intending to buy some shoes here, as the buying process will involve you doing some jogging as you try the shoes, which is hard to do in jeans! I also suggest that you go in the afternoon to get a good fit as your feet swell during the day.

I've been to this shop three times now to buy new running shoes and even though I knew the service was good, each time I've been amazed by just how good they are. They're knowledgeable, careful, observant and really care about making sure you have the right shoes for you. I must have spent over an hour trying on various shoes, running up and down outside while the staff member watched my gait and we discussed how they felt. The whole time I felt no pressure to buy, the staff member was very patient and helped me make the best choice. ...and I came away with a great pair of running shoes and the confidence that they were the right ones for me. I came away from the Victoria shop with a pair of running shoes I was not quite sure about and was able to exchange them a couple of days later for a bigger size with no problems. They are excellent and have made the difference to my running – and so they should, since they are not cheap. Staff watch customers run and also ask them to bend their legs in a standing position, so that they can assess their gait and recommend shoes accordingly. However, I would have expected a bit more expertise – asking about the distances you run, the terrain, whether you prefer a lot of cushioning etc. I like the way you are allowed to try the shoes out outside the shop. I would definitely go back even though prices are much higher than you might pay in a self-service shop.

Brilliant shop with a great service! I went for some new running trainers and the very friendly Michelle helped me. She spent an hour with me trying on all sorts of shoes but I couldn't decide, so I came back two days later to try them all on again and again Michelle helped me for an hour. Rarely do I ever bother to write a review, but this place deserves it. The best running store in London hands-down and I've been to a lot. They really take their time to find you the perfect pair of running trainers (I tried on and ran in at least 5 pairs). They also watch you run outside in the street in them, so they can see if the trainer properly corrects your gait. The only shop I know that does this.

Run and become were excellent. I'm am a size 13 and find it really difficult to by shoes in general. I have been looking for a pair of XC running spikes for a while and I couldn't even get them online. I phoned ahead to make sure they were in stock and tried three pairs. Very happy with my new shoes and really look forward to going for a run. I would recommend this sports shoe store as they had very knowledgeable staff that were very helpful.

Really great service as always. I needed both road and trail shoes and Michelle spent at least forty minutes patiently helping me find exactly the right pairs. This shop does gait analysis the old fashioned way, by having you run up and down the street, so you get a really good indication of how shoes fit and feel. Much more effective than a treadmill. This place is amazing, I received the best customer service I have ever experienced in a shop, bar none. I needed new shoes and kit after a 5 year break from running and Michelle helped me to find the perfect fit. I chose Run and Become because I wanted the natural gait analysis (rather than treadmill) and was amazed when they allowed me to run outside the store in every pair of shoes I tried, giving expert advice on size and fit. I visited the shop for the first time as a colleague of mine, fellow runner, recommended this independent place. Although the place seemed busy already on Saturday afternoon, the shop assistant Evelyn greeted me and offered me assistance- all the way from conducting a gait analysis to choosing the right shoe. I must have tried over a dozen of different shoes and had them all tested on the side road, which was an added value to this place; normally you would either try a new shoe on a treadmill or by walking around a shop, neither is a true reflection of how the trainers would perform on the road. Finally I chose ( to my relief) a pair of Brooks Ghost 12 and I have to say they are perfect for me. Thank to Evelyn's assistance and patience I will be running Berlin and Chicago marathons in my wisely selected new trainers. I would definitely recommend this shop over "the high street".

I had a great experience finding comfortable running shoes at Run And Become. I don’t normally go shopping for shoes before lunch time (as feet swell in the afternoon due to blood flow), but the staff will let you run in the shoes down the road before you buy them. So leave at least 30 mins free. They had a good range of international and British brands. Such as Asics, Mizuno, Brooks etc. I went with a Mizuno pair in the end which supported the arch of my foot. You learn a lot about your feet in this shop, I didn’t know that my right foot was weaker and that I needed a shoe that would help my knees align straighter when I run. Keep the great work up!

Very friendly and knowledgable staff and a wide selection of running shoes. They took the time to make sure I was happy with my choice, showing me lots of different pairs and letting me run in them as much as I needed. They allow exchanges after you have worn them so you can be sure you will be happy with your purchase. Only down side is since it's quite a small shop and they carry lots of different brands there is not a lot of availability in terms of different colours so women are likely to end up with top quality, but bright pink, trainers.

Independent runners’ store with very knowledgeable staff who are runners. Good range is running shoes in lots of sizes and even different width fittings. Road, trail and fell shoes all stocked. Having taken up running during lockdown via couch to 5k (and signing up to a half-marathon shortly thereafter), I was told via several sources that I should absolutely get myself a pair of well-fitted running shoes. Given all the shops were closed, I was initially concerned I couldn't get a gait analysis done in-store anywhere nor could I try different shoes out. Little did I know that Run and Become was the answer, originally referred to them by my brother who resides in London (I very much do not!), I did an online gait analysis which required some basic videos over Whatsapp and some foot measurements. Petra was super accommodating, professional and knowledgable from the outset and listened to my needs/goals/concerns about running as well as feeding back her insight of my gait from the videos I sent. We quickly discovered I have very wide feet (I didn't quite realise how bad they were and that I had been wearing wrong-sized shoes my whole life) and so it wasn't the easiest process to find something I was confident fit as well as running shoes should given the vital role they play. Petra worked with me over the course of several orders and phone calls to help me find something that fit just right and several months on I am still running (now up to 4.5 miles per run!) injury-free. I was able to return the shoes that didn't work and there were free returns label to aid this. The pricing was cheaper than anywhere else online due to a sale but even without the sale discount, the pricing was very competitive and even more so when you consider the knowledge, experience and professionalism that came with my purchase. I recently had a not so fun experience elsewhere finding walking boots that fit and it reminded me how good the service at Run and Become was hence I find myself writing this review. I intend on returning to buy trail shoes and hope to pop into the store in London once things are a bit more normal!

I went to two other running stores in London before finally finding a shoe at run and become. I was helped by Laura who was incredibly patient and knowledgeable as my feet aren't the easiest to find shoes for. Tried loads of shoes and spend around 2 hours to find a good shoe. The store seems to have the largest stock of shoes in their wide versions and they allow you to run with the shoes outside a bit to get a better feel for them. Can't recommend this store enough.

Best running shop in London! I went to all the running shops with fancy treadmills etc and they were nothing compared to the well trained staff here. They watched me run and I found the most comfortable and supportive pair. And they pointed out stuff to me that the treadmills later showed but the places with treadmills never actually found me a good shoe. It's been a while since I had been to R&B for a gait analysis and I figured that since I pretty much had to give away my last pair of runners almost new as they were way too uncomfortable, it was time to get assessed again. The store has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and the staff are knowledgeable and professional. They use a natural gait analysis, which takes into account your whole body movement - and is so much more accurate than treadmill analysis (and so much better for someone like me, who never runs on a treadmill). I was given plenty of guidance with each pair of shoes that I tried - in other chains I have been left with an assortment of boxes to puzzle it out by myself. Here they take the time to assess your running in each and every pair. Well worth the trip down to Victoria. Will definitely return.

Meant to be great and offer a great service but have personally been unlucky. Bought a pair of running shoes that ended up hurting like hell after a 10min run. They took 90min+ to choose and buy. Had to come back to exchange them (amazing that this is possible!!) and got another, even more expensive pair. Unfortunately those hurt too but by the time I’d made super sure they were faulty (how embarrassing to take two pairs back to running experts when you’ve never properly run!!) it was too late to return them. So now am stuck with a useless pair of extraordinarily expensive running shoes. I run with my reasonably priced vivobarefoots that I had before. Friend bought some clothes online and needed to exchange two of the items. Came in, and had to spend a while (15min?) waiting for the staff who are able to process returns to be done with their gait consultations with clients. Kind of fair enough but the time factor in all of these visits has been extraordinary. Don’t come unless you have at least one hour to spare!!

I tried 5 different running shops all over London today before landing on this one. This is definitely the most prepared and equipped shop I found. The staff is extremely helpful. They helped me finding the right shoes after suggesting to try 7 different pairs, and later do side by side comparison. Also, conversely to all other shops, they let you try the shoes outside on the road and not on the treadmill. That makes a tremendous difference if you are going to actually run on the road.

After analysing my running style, she used her expertise in running footwear to suggest a selection of shoes that may be suitable. Fantastic shop! They have a huge selection of shoes - in fact the most I have seen in any running store - which is why I came here, all the way from Bristol! Been a bit unlucky with this store. First time got sold the wrong running shoes(I didn't know any better as it was my first pair!). Am a very novice runner and wanted good advice on what shoes to buy. Jana gave excellent customer service assessing my gait and genuinely wanting to find the best pair for me no matter how long it took. She knew her stuff and when a pair wasn't right could find the right alternative to that. All the staff seemed equally committed and the ship was consistently busy (but without a wait of more than 5 minutes to be seen) in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. The 28 day exchange policy is great too and I did take my purchase back to be changed for a larger size (my faulty for wearing the wrong socks when trying them on) and they did not quibble at all. Shopping at Run and Become today was a very pleasant experience! A very lovely and knowledgeable girl helped me. They assessed my style of running, outside, not on a treadmill, and based on that provided 4 different types of shoes, which I was allowed to trial outside. You can take the shoes home, and use them inside for up to 28 days, and still return them. So I will give that a whirl and see if they indeed are as comfy as they felt in the store before taking them to the road.

The team at R&B have been instrumental in helping me with trainer fitting and transition from one make to another. They have many thousands of miles of experience between them across various distances and disciplines which helps the broad range of customers. The “track” outside the shop is fantastic and allows you to try the trainers in a more realistic environment. The queue system is novel. If you haven’t been before, make sure you take a medal from the middle of the room as your “ticket”. First time I went, I stood there waiting until I realised there was a system. I’ve been there a few times and whilst waiting, observed the team help and fit others and their advice has been balanced and relevant as each person is unique when trainer fitting. Also very patient! R&B also sell Wrightsock socks and Injinji toe socks. Not many physical running shops stock these. The shop is great as it will cater for a range of people of varying ability and needs. If you need hands on advice and need the occasional “niche” item, especially more for Ultra discipline, then Run and Become is a good shout for most people.

Had a fantastic experience with Laura lookong after me. I have had major problem with calf pain so was advised by a consultant to come to the store and get fitted for trainers by the team. The 1st pair ended up not being right and caused the same pain after 1 run so I brought them back in and they swapped them out for another pair no problen. Laura spent another half an hour trying to find another pair.. next pair were perfect- I ran home pain free for the first time in 6 months. Bingo!

I had a great visit to the store. Despite my weird-sized feet (between and 12 and 13 = difficult to buy!), the assistant did not stop until we found a shoe that fit the bill. After trying on many pairs of 12s and 13s and running up down and down in them outside the shop, I left satisfied. I really liked having the gait analysis done on a real surface as I never run on a treadmill and they even noticed that I run on the mid to fore-foot, something which most other running shops I have been to failed to notice. As a result, they recommended shoes with a smaller heel to toe drop and placed less emphasis on my slight over-pronation. Would highly recommend the shop: if you're patient, you will come out with the right pair of shoes.

This is in my view the best general running shop in the UK. (There are a couple of better fell-running only specialists.) The shoe selection is massive. Most importantly, the staff are all running nutcases like me (but don't be put off by that if you are a beginner - it's a very friendly place). They are hugely knowledgeable - partly evidenced by what they wear on their own feet: they all wear VFFs or (the sadly now demised) NB minimus. I went there after a bad experience with another store. They were pretty busy, but it was worth to wait. Jana took the time to listen careful all I have to explain about what I wanted and how I'm trying to start running after an injury. After asking me to do some exercises she immediately realised that my left leg is much weaker than the right one, which made me feel really confident as nobody had noticed that before in other stores. That is indeed my injured leg. Afterwards, she spent about 30-40 minutes with me and allowed me to run twice with each of the pairs (luckily it was only three). I was in between two of these and she recommended me one, because I was more stable running on those. Also, she even said that one of the pairs didn't seemed to be suitable and that the sound then I was stepping on those, didn't sounded right. To summarise, she took the time to carefully help me to choose the right shoes for me. I left the store and decided to try my new pair on a 30 minutes interval in the treadmill and my tendon bothered me much less than it used to. The most impressive part is that I was being held back because after training my leg would ache badly for a week, yet this time I'm free of pain after training! Since I'm slowly recovering, I still need my doctor to help me and I hope he approves this pair of shoes, I know I'm already doing it. The only down side 'and this can be a big one- is that the shoes in this store are quite pricey. After my purchase I realised that I could have bought my shoes in Amazon £22 cheaper, which I didn't felt happy about and this is why I don't give it 5 stars. At least I am pleased with my purchase and this is by far the best customer service ever in a sports store. Thank you Jana for all your help and patience!

Top notch customer service but beware of extreme mark ups on items. I went there to purchase a pair of running shoes, a running coat, and a pair of running pants. I walked in and the service was great. I even purchased a vest -- it has been on my mind to get one for quite some time. After the amazing service I received I travelled back to my hotel room and went for a run. I came back to my room and got curious about the pricing. This was a little late but it never hurts for peace of mind. Everything was around its ballpark figure with the exception of the jacket. The jacket was 150% priced in comparison to nearly every listed local shop and online. (160 GBP vs 108ish GBP) I didn't feel good about the purchase at all, and I decided to return it. I talked to one woman on the floor, and she stated that can't return the item. I stated in response that I purchased the item that morning and haven't used it. Her response was in essence that pricing is due to the size and volume of their small shop. She followed that with a blanket statement hinting and smokescreening at their pricing not being able to compete with the internet and large retail stores. I completely understood her position in the situation with retail competitiveness but nothing can justify a 50% mark up. The woman eventually offered to get me their manager. I waited 20 minutes for the manager. She came out and basically said the exact same blanket statement and then offered to take the return. I may have lucked out with the amazing friendliness and loveliness of the manager. All this said, I recommend this store highly and suggest going to this store for the customer service. Be selective and double check the prices before your purchase. Internet, small store, or large store-- don't allow yourself to be smoke screened by the smaller store gag. It's a competitive market and reasonable pricing does matter.
