I travelled 25 miles each way to have 2 x pair of boots re-soled from these guys. Well worth the trip, my Timberland earthkeepers look like new and are now my go to boots after 5 years in the wardrobe. They advised having a plastic sole rather than rubber and even put a few nails in as I wore them on my bike, great service and the boots feel so much better on the footpegs and walking about town. Price for 2 x boots re-soled and a watch battery exchange was cheaper than other quotes for just a re-sole on one pair of boots at local cobblers... A lovely couple run the shop, we look forward to seeing then again very soon.

I went like an idiot to Timpsons to get two batteries replaced in my two watches…. One an Armani watch and the other a Hugo Boss, mmmmm never again. I called in on Cromptons by chance after going in the pharmacy next door, what a nice experience, so polite and helpful, shown them my watches and got them both done for £13.50 rather than £48.50 for my Armani and £27.50 for my Hugo Boss. Excellent service and excellent price, both fitted with swiss batteries which was a bonus….. cheers guys you are quality 100%

Today i visited Crompton Shoe Repairs for the first time. I have been trying to replace a very comfy pair of old trainer type shoes for nearly 2 years. Nothing has come near and I have sent back countless pairs of shoes for a refunds. I have various problems with my feet and these shoes were brilliant but after many years the toe box was ripped and both the soles were coming away from the leather/ plastic section. 3 cobbler’s I’ve visited said nothing could be done to fix them. But Karl said ‘leave them with me for half an hour and i’ll see what I can do’. I could not believe my eyes when I saw them!! They looked like brand new shoes 🤩🥳 All the rips were repaired, soles attached ( properly!) a leather strip around the base of the shoe to seal them and Karl had even dyed them back to a lovely clean shiny black! Absolutely amazing 😃 This has made me so happy 😁 as my back, knee and foot pain won’t be as bad now I can wear these shoes again. I still can’t believe it. And all for a extremely reasonable price! Karl was friendly, polite, and professional. His skills are exceptional! In this day and age he must be one of a kind. He has mastered his trade to perfection. Just wish I had come across him 2 years ago. Thank you Karl ☺️

Absolutely brilliant service, took my grandsons suit to be dry cleaned there it had an Ink Stain from a pen that had leaked in his pocket. They worked extremely hard on it and achieved a wonderful result. Can't than them enough. I have always had my shoe repairs done there they provide a first class reliable and quick service.

I rang up to get a quote regarding repairing the sole of my daughter's kickers, no answer first, but they left a message within 5 minutes of my calling. The replacement sole were thick rambler's tread so my daughter can't wear through them as fast as she did the original soles & they were fitted beautifully & looked really good. My daughter loved them. Haven't had the chance to test them out yet, as her school year has been off for the past 3 weeks due to covid 19 & school holidays. Was needing my boots resoling during Lockdown, nowhere open! Had plenty of time to search, came across Crompton Shoe Repairs, great reviews! Although nearly 20miles away. Phoned, left a message; few weeks later I receive a call "Hi, is that Ian? It's C/Karl from Crompton Shoe Repairs. You left a message..." Well to cut a very long lockdown story short; if you want good old fashioned, value for money, professional, genuine, friendly, knowledgeable, customer service, then you won't go wrong here.There are quite a few shoe repair shops nearer to me. I won't be going there, now that I know about Crompton Shoe Repairs. I also had a battery replaced in my watch and new laces to boot...pun intended! Thank you!

My son had managed to walk a hole into the leather sole of a pair of leather brogues, i assumed they were beyond repair . Having used Cromptons numerous times i decided to take them in and as usual they made an amazing job replacing the original leather soles and heels with rubber bottoms as requested by my son. Dropped 3 pairs of smart shoes off for new soles and heals to be fitted. All were different colours. When I collected the next day, all were absolutely perfect. I was really impressed and would definitely recommend.

Great quality, great price, quick turnaround. I brought in three pairs of shoes to Crompton Shoe Repairs; one was a black mens shoe which had previously been 'resoled' by another well known shoe repairer in the City Centre. I say 'resoled' because they did a very poor job - rather than stitching a new leather sole (it was a goodyear welted shoe), they appeared to have just glued it on, and then inexplicable, hammered nails into parts of it. It was such a poor quality job, that only a few months after they were resoled, the nails became lose, and one of the soles began to fall apart. This also costed me around £35, which I felt was not matched by the quality of the craftsmanship. Not wanting to be burnt again, I took my shoe to Crompton Shoe Repairs, and I found the experience to be fantastic in comparison. Firstly, they didn't put any stupid nails into any part of my shoe. Secondly, they actually stitched the leather sole onto my shoe, and the stitching was of a very high standard (knife stitched). Thirdly, this was all done for a much more reasonable price, at around £25. Finally, they had it done within a week. Needless to say I was very happy with the outcome and will be going back again.

I had a broken zip on my knee high boots.. the owner and his wife were so helpful and friendly and went above an beyond my expectations! It was fixed on the same day (within an hour) and they even put the pully part of the zip on to the new zip (which was black and gold) to match the origional zip/boot! I had been to some other bigger companies lately looking for a particular key I needed to be cut only to be told it was a specialist key, my last hope was a local small business which of course was Failsworth Cobblers. I called in on a very cold and wet November Thursday night, and with no hope asked if the key could be cut. A very smiley shop keeper, looked and said yes of course, WOW... the bigger companies can’t but this small local business had just what I needed, I looked at my watch and it was 1715, the shop closed in 15 minutes when I said well actually I need 10 keys cutting, no problem was the response I was greeted with, and whilst the shop keeper didn’t mind the time, he didn’t rush the job, and chatted for the entire time, we even chatted about the lamb chops he was having for his tea ha ha, my biggest shock was the price.... 10 keys cut including 3 shutter keys and the price was outstanding, I won’t tell you the price as he did he a little discount as the keys were for Greater Manchester Wing Royal Air Force Air Cadets, but the price without discount was still amazing. I will personally be using Failsworth Cobblers again, especially the dry cleaning service which again is a fraction of the price of Johnson’s. To the shop keeper who served me, you are an outstanding businessman, a true gentleman and a fantastic conversationalist and I would recommend your business to anyone Thank you for your service

Took two pairs of my Niece's Doc Martin Boots(£100+ each pair) in before Christmas to see if he could repair them, other places had said the repairs were impossible. The family dog had took a chunk of leather out of one and ripped both pairs....they were heading for the bin. Went back an hour later I was amazed. It was a miracle. The missing leather had been replaced with a dyed matching patch, even the grain on the leather matched. (He even gave me dye to take away). All repairs were excellent and service was friendly and affordable Would highly recommend this place.
