Quite a good shop homewares are limited and not too cheap but the clothing range is good and varied often heavily discounted 'designer' labels are available, Lacoste , Lyle and Scott, Noth Face etc.

Only thing wish it could be bigger. But that's hard in Durham and city centre. Staff always very helpful and polite. Good range of mix of items to buy what you might need.

Typical 'bargain bonanza/bit of everything on a budget' type store, selling a bit of all sorts for home, garden etc. Did find what I was after - bought a decorative lantern for the garden. They were all scratched, so had to chose best of a bad bunch. They shouldn't have really been sold full price, given their condition was anything but perfect, but at same time I was too impatient to order an item from any online shops, and Durham offers very little in shopping choices these days. Having T J Hughes is better than having yet another empty unit.

A big thank you ti the member of staff who helped me today when I had a diabetic hypo. Couldn't do enough for me very proffered caring and helpful. T G HUGES you should be very proud of those girls In the cafe at your store. Reccomend in a second.

Fantastic clothing and christmas supplies are instore at present. Mens and womens purfumes at great prices. I must mention the restaurant, OMG home made food, served piping hot and delicious and great prices, kids eat for £3.50 try it you wont be disappointed. Shop is busy but staff in both shop and restaurant are so helpful. There are toilets available.

Didn't manage to get what I wanted but still managed a few bargains. Assistant on the till wasn't very helpful or cheerful which for an early visit doesn't bode well for the rest of the day.

Only used the 'The Cafe at TJs'. Service was OK. Price is reasonable for what I bought. Being at the back of a department store is an advantage as it won't get too busy. Good place.

It was great to find an old fashioned store in the centre of Durham, lovely friendly staff, bought so much that we didn't know we needed that we ended up buying a wheelie suitcase to carry it in !

I had expected more electricals but there was a good choice of clothing and footwear. Garden furniture too. Very convenient if you buy a larger items as the shop is located next to the carpark which has lifts There is a restaurant but not open at the moment......the shop is worth a visit

I go to TJ Hughes a lot they have a good selection of Neely everything you would need at home but check the prices out first I have bought a few things in there and found it much cheaper somewhere else but you can still bag a bargain don't use the cafe in there you get really small positions at a inflation price and with Durham City centre full of more cafe's you can shake a stick at it's shocking

Excellent shop, lots of good price clothes, household and general goods. Excellent staff and customer service.

Usually good on price, lots of products. However one of the security guards asked me what I was doing on my phone and not in a polite manner which had nothing to do with him.

Major problem at the tills. None of them could take credit cards so after several attempts had to resort to paying with cash. Not the best way forward during Covid 19 pandemic.
