Great space for kids, especially on a rainy day, there's a large designated area, toys and of course lots of books. Staff are always helpful

Worth a visit just to see the spectacular building! Libraries are still the beating heart of our communities and should be supported; they provide so many services. This one is great and I highly recommend a visit.

Such a friendly place for people of all ages. Wonderful staff. Excellent facilities.

A beautiful building. Pop inside and admire the architecture, domed roof and pillars.
Apart from being a lending library ( CDs as well as books), it also has local information.
You will need a (free) membership to borrow any items but anyone can visit.

Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Brilliant for children: Bookbug is on most weeks (even during holidays) and there is always a great selection of toys and children's books.

It’s one of Edinburgh Council’s public libraries. The library has a lovely historic building and location as well as smoothly access to/from city centre of Edinburgh. Very Friendly & helpful staff, and always help you with what you need.
It has one a negative thing that is unquiet atmosphere for reading.
Hope the staff can manage to make the library quieter place than usual.

A perfect place to bring my toddler for an hour or so. Loads of books and some toys too. If only it was open earlier! Staff are always lovely too.

The Leith Library is situated in a beautiful classic building, built around 1929. I went there to get a Web Hosting reference book which I found in the Science & Technology section, obviously.
The borrowing and return process can be done at their automated kiosks, and is a pretty straight forward process. I’ll advise you to get a printed ticket for your records every time a book is returned, just in case.
Its interior is luminous and spacious. They claim that they have WiFi, but somehow I could not connect using my Library number and password, no matter how hard I try, several times on different days, no luck.
The book and media collections are adequate considering that it isn’t a big building, but it helps a lot.
Books’ availability for borrowing can be checked on-line (Your Library website) which is pretty useful as they can exactly tell you where and how many copies are available by scanning all Edinburgh Libraries.
The Leith Library is a good culture starting place for Leith residents as they offer Book Groups, MSP’s surgeries, IT beginners’ computer classes, room hire, etc. The building, IT system and media collection might be in need of some extra investment through the Edinburgh Council, though.
