I was delighted with my recent order from the One World Shop. I usually visit the shop in person before Christmas to buy gifts as it’s such a magical place to shop in. I decided to start Christmas preparations early this year and place an online order. It came quickly and very well packaged. I bought some beautifully designed and painted tree decorations, great Christmas cards, as always there are lots of lovely designs of excellent quality. I am so excited to be giving my grandchildren the colourful, chunky wooden jigsaw figures; I bought an elephant and a penguin with their respective babies and a cat with each colourful piece numbered 1-10. I’ve bought lots of these jigsaws over the years and they are so attractive, hard wearing and perfect for little hands. I’m looking forward to visiting the shop to buy some more gifts before Christmas.

Until COVID times I shopped here personally (always a pleasure) but have just received my first online order. Excellent service (received a phone call that saved me money too) and as always, the quality of goods is first class. If you are looking for something a little different or even very ordinary but want to shop and not disadvantage others, then this is the place.

I originally was going to buy this gorgeous bag with a bicycle on it for my sister for her birthday. I liked it so much, that I also ordered one for myself. I placed the order online at 10:40 yesterday morning, opting for standard 3-7 days delivery. My parcel arrived via the postman at 14:00 this afternoon. Staff are invariably cheerful, courteous and helpful. Now that my shopping is being done online, I miss interaction with the shop staff, but the compensation is that orders are processed simply and accurately, delivery has always been punctual, the goods I purchase always of excellent quality and securely packaged. A fantastic wee find in the heart of Edinburgh. This shop is perfect for gifts, and a treat for yourself. I particularly love their selection of ethically and fairtrade sourced food, and plenty of vegan options! They also have beautiful items from jewellery to crafts and candles. My 'go-to' shop over the years for beautiful, ethically sourced gifts for adults and children plus some food basics and not least, probably Edinburgh's widest range of fairtrade chocolate! Now shopping online, missing the feeling of being inside a wonderful treasure store and contact with the friendly, helpful staff (some paid, many volunteers), but the website's great and everything very efficient.

I placed a large order on Tuesday and on Wednesday it was hand delivered to my door with a smile (to a fairly remote farmhouse in Midlothian). It was beautifully wrapped in tissue paper - no bubble wrap to be seen. The products are of good quality and a pleasant change from the limited variety in local shops.
