When in the shop they have so much knowledge and experience to help you. You feel welcomed and a true friend of the shop. Superb fishing shop. Ordered Youngs River Specialist around a month ago, then decided I needed another one. Jon from Bankside phoned Youngs which is within 10 minutes of shop, youngs made me a new one. Jon collected next day and I received it day after. I've been to many Carp & Specialist fishing tackle shops over the years, but this is the only one I truly trust. Their service is exemplary and friendly, their range of tackle is superb and advice is second to none with Jon and Poolie being Carp masters themselves. Never pushy, just welcoming. Always trying their best to help, probably hear the same questions day in day out from relatively inexperienced anglers such as myself, but never ever grumble, top top team, and if you spend a lot of money in there, and I dont mean a lot, 50 quid 100 quid here and there, they recognise it and deduct the odd couple of quid here and there, which they do not have to do, but choose to. Top lads, you may come out with less money, but I always leave with more knowledge!

bankside is not just for the big carp angler - although these guys will put you on the fish at any national carp lake if that is your aim. The shop is well stocked with kit and bait for all budgets and species. Staff are all very friendly and are full of knowledge that they will happily share about local club and day ticket lakes , rivers , the bait and rigs to use. any questions just ask for john or Ian they will be happy to help. spot on....

Great friendly staff very very knowledgeable and very very helpful with prices,tackle and tactics for the local river and lakes I was staying in cheltenham for 2 weeks and was needing some rod action when i came across bankside abit of the beaten track but well worth the visit brought a rod and reel in the sale and was given a further 10% off,thank you very much i thought and after a chat and a great cup of tea i left with there advice of the local rivers and lakes they steered me to a brace of barbel best being and a 15lbs 7ozs on the avon and a 12 carp on a local lake best of the bunch 37lb 4ozs both a personal best for me in the same week surely the advice came into its own so THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH JOHN AND IAN For the fishing week of my lifetime.
