Good selection. Went in for a board game for a birthday. The Board Game selection wasn't quite as good as it has been previously, but still managed to find a good one. They now do wrapping paper and cards, so that saved us going elsewhere. We also got a graphic novel, which did have some damage but the staff member gave us a discount for the damage without us asking which was good custom service.

Staff good at ordering my book and notifying about collecting. Wasn't clear from the outside of shop which door was in and which was out and, therefore, sanitizer not obvious 🤔! Once in shop fully it became clear but still no sanitizer at till for handling purchase and card machine!

Very friendly staff. Ordered in a book I wanted to read as I’ve heard raving reviews about it and Ipswich was the only store to stock it. They very kindly put this book on hold for me. Very attentive, also helped me find another book that I was looking for

Our first visit was to search for books for our grandaughters birthday. We were welcomed and helped to find what we needed in an airy beautifully arranged display of books. But this is not a store you should just pop into. There is a huge array of books of all subjects on two large floors. These deserve a serious investigation when we have more time. We will be back!

Lovely helpful staff always willing to help me out whenever I go. Only slightly annoying thing is there's no customer lift so I cant go upstairs if I have my kids with me (luckily the kids books are downstairs) but staff are always willing to grab the book for me if I know what I'm looking for

So I found a Waterstone gift card whilst sorting out a bookshelf. The card must have been at least 7-8 years old. I went in a spoke to the assistant to ask if it was still valid and how much was on there... yes it is, and £15.. and he renewed it for me for 2 years. Excellent!! Hw also told me that I could add the gift card to my waterstones online account and buy things to get delivered free (over £20) to my house if I didn't want to come into the shop. So after wondering around the shop for an hour perusing books, I decide to call it a day and buy something later when I have more time to see their full selection of books.

Huge variety. Came here with my daughter looking for Manga books for her. Found straight away, with asking the staff for help, whole section of books, novels, collectibles and much more. Highly recommended

My favourite book shop love coming here to buy and browse books. They have a great Harry Potter section of books. They have a children’s section where you can take your child to sit down and read the prices are a little high but the books are worth it

I love it when you wander into a bookshop and you only vaguely remember what the book you want is about but the shop assistant quickly works out which book you mean. The book in question was Hired by James Bloodworth which certainly puts you off buying from Amazon ever again and makes you want to support your local bookshop. I was very impressed with the service and the level of customer engagement in this shop.

Lovely evening event at Waterstones with author Emma Mitchell talking about her book, Making Winter. Staff friendly and helpful with a supply of tea/coffee /mulled wine and the shop is huge with a great range of books, literary gifts etc. Worth joining mailing list/ following on social media to keep informed of these things.

In this day and age of digital books and e-zines, Waterstones is a major relief for an old school book lover like me. The store in Ipswich is really well stocked and seems to have something for everyone. A great collection of contemporary fiction and non fiction on every topic you can think of. I needed some Chinese language learning books and found some not available online. Strongly recommend going there with family.

Wonderfully and surprisingly large collection of knowledge and intrigue. Be warned, it's laid out across three levels. Escalator to the first floor, but stairs to come back down. And only stairs (short set though) to the third level.
