Reviews of Chiswick Library

Lovely library. Always manage to get all the latest books here by reserving on line. Staff very helpful. Great local resource now and throughout the last 2 difficult years. Please use it local residents or we will lose it.

You can really learn a lot from this library as they have a lot of books, maps and all other materials. I had a great time checking in here but I am just sad that they do not open on Sundays. Hope you will also be open on Sunday so that I can visit you right after going to church!

Very helpful and lovely staff! Thank you to the lovely lady that helped me print off my boarding pass, as a lost Australian you helped me a lot.

A great place to go to study.

A wonderful example of a crucial community asset not being given the investment it needs to properly serve the community. The main floor and entrance have been modernised. There is one self service terminal for borrowing and returning books, two librarian positions for help and a large vibrant children's section. A recent idea is a section containing books recently borrowed by other customers, serving as an oblique recommendation for the books. So far I've had one hit and one miss from it. Unfortunately the remainder of the library looks tired and unappealing, and fails to do justice to the collection of literature housed there. Accessibility to the raised ground floor containing fiction and nonfiction is via a small platform type lift. There is no access for anyone with mobility problems to the reference library on the upper floor. Coincidentally it's also where the local councillors have their weekly clinics too, so these can't be fully inclusive either. Hopefully funds can be found to redress these short comings, but as there were recent moves to close this library (defeated happily) it's unlikely to be soon.

This is a wonderful library, I had my card issued in no time, I found the books and DVDs I was looking for with the help of the librarian and I had the task I went there for done in no time!

Nice library, lot of variety on books and maps. Pity they do not open on Sundays.
