Reviews of Hamleys
J. C.
Well what can I say, this is a kids playground and even big kids at that. It was amazing to see all 6 floors and the lego statues that had been made on pretty much each of the floors. Would recommend to families as it Would be good for the children to see and experience but take plenty of money as I'm sure you'll get something for yourselves at the same time. Staff were very friendly and polite.
S. S.
I just absolutely love this place, it makes me feel like a kid again, so much amazing stock really well laid out store, the staff interaction and display is second to none. This truly is still a retail gem and cements the opinion that physical store fronts are required over online only services. Thank you for the incredible experience, each and every time.
T. B.
Hamleys is a delightful place to visit whether you are 2 or 60.
Its really a visual treat that spans 5 floors.
If your looking for build a bear or Nintendo games or lego to Harry Potter it's all here.
The floor staff are super nice and play with games and toys on the shop floor.
Even the toilets are themed!!!
One of my favourite places is London, 5 stars!
H. F.
Always a great experience for us and the kids. Bit of queue but it was December when we visted so that's to be expected. Packed full of toys on 5 different floors.
Brilliant staff selling and demonstrating toys with a smile all the while. Didn't have to wait long at the tills. The Lego floor is my absolute favourite.
Will be back till year!
S. D.
As always, the most amazing experience. Ensure you get there before 10 so you can watch the bell being rang to open the store, elves are on hand to sing and help too. Be prepared for all kinds of amazing toys, ones you'd forgotten too!
D. L.
My daughter loved the toy shop, plenty of floors and great selection of toys. Great decorations and photo opportunities. Be prepared to sometimes pay double the price of some toys that you can easily buy elsewhere. But its more about the visit and experience for us.

Always just a great experience whilst in Hamley’s. We have been here so much, and all of the times I have been fascinated by the service, and how e joyful and happy the workers are there! We once bought so many stuff and it was so worth it! Coming today as well! Can’t wait to go there. Definitely would come here [always] when me {and even anyone} is in Central London!
G. S.
OK, so I took two of my kids here. Their first time in London, and me a very big kid, I grew up in London so I know it well.
No matter how many times I come here I feel like a kid again. It takes me back to when my mother used to bring me for a look around and if I was lucky, to get a little something.
I love walking around here, not only is there a massive range of the usual big names; Playmobile, Lego, TY, Barbie, Scalextric, Hornby, etc...
But they have a great range of little known companies, making simple yet fun little toys. They also have a great range of their own branded toys, which have always been a big hit.
This is one of the few places I know that still stock a great range of Scalextric and Hornby products on the shelf. Something that can appeal to the older customer as well as the young.
They have a lovely little cafe a few floors up, with a lovely range of sweet treats as well.
The sales people dotted around each floor are great... one in particular came across as if he could sell ice to an Eskimo. He was demoing the Golden Snitch. He was brilliant, interacted with the audience really well, and knew the product like the back of his hand. So much so, the number of people stepping forward to buy one, including us, was pretty impressive.
If you head into London for a day trip, you must put this on your list of places to go.
A. B.
Busy and warm but always good to visit. Looking a bit tired in some section but the staff always look like their having fun. A good toy shop for tourists!!
R. L.
The most magical place to take the kids.
There's 5 floors of wonder that's sure to cater to even the most discerning child.
There's even a build a Bear consession on the 3rd floor.
B. M.
It’s not the biggest toy store I have been in, but it’s definitely a nice one. Great lego selection. A bit lacking on action figures though. Still it was fun checking it out
P. S.
Excellent shop! It's a heaven for children, but it's better not to bring them with you. Because they will wanna buy everything
I. W.
Might be fun for kids the first time but the selection is sparse. The Tamiya RC section is pretty much non-existent and on the way out. The UK version of FAO Schwarz.
Unfortunately, Amazon and online retailers has brought this place to its knees. Visit while it’s still around.
V.
A must to take children to for them to explore and buy them a present... even if you only do it once! Had to get past the 'Grinch' outside, who was very good. Good window displays.
J. G.
Amazing place for kids! I wish I could buy toys from there when I was a child.
J. s.
This is the most amazing toy store we have ever been to . Everything you need for a happy child . Loved our visit. And to save queues on the escalator take the stairs 👍
W. B.
Been here with my Miss few years ago!Can find different types of toys and dolls here! Enjoy spending time here!
A. M. S. A. A.
Lovely place full of toys on 6 floors. You can find everything you need. The best thing that kids are allowed to touch and play with toys which is so much fun but the prices there are expensive 😃. Had a good time there . Hope to go again with kids soon. Thanks
W. S.
Took my daughter there for the first time. I remembered it being so much fun there. In the nutshell, it was ok but very expensive
S. B.
A good you store with a rich history. There are 4 floors to explore plus the basement as well. A vast variety of toys along with some excellent displays. A good place to visit with kids even if you're not doing.
M. H.
What a brilliant and fascinating place.
6 floors if non stop entertainment for the kids.
Really is great.
The staff are outstanding, considering the amount of customers that are coming through the doors.
Great team and management.
Lower ground floor most of it is Harry Potter gifts which are £5 cheaper a wand from here instead of Harry Potter tour shop.
You can get the wands for £27 and the olivander boxed wands at £30 each
They have so many characters its amazing
Transformers are located on the top floor
Amazing place well worth a visit.
N. C. (.
Omg, this place is a world in itself. We were on a strict schedule, but randomly got into this shop. And we just got lost in this world!!!!! Me being a Potterhead, i felt like i was in Diagon Alley, mesmerized by the wizarding world they have built there. A whole floor just for this. I wanted to pick everything, but couldn't afford all that ofcourse 🤭. It has everything.. From chocolate frogs to marauder's map to basilisk's blood, it has got everything. Yes, you heard that right. 😝 I couldn't hold my excitement and I am so glad I found this shop.
A. B.
We visited this weekend whilst on a break away in London. Love this shop, our 5 year old son was very excited to spend his birthday money in there. Definitely worth a visit.
M. B.
First time in Hamley’s and had an amazing time! I’ve gone passed it several times and the beautiful window displays capture my attention every time! I went with my niece and she loved it just as much as I did. Lots of toys and entertainment in store for everyone to see. Would recommend to all!
J. O.
It’s more of an experience than a toy store. Nice to visit with younger children. Staff is really nice.
a. t.
Wow!! This place is huge!!! Amazing!! Over five stories of toys!! A kid's dream!! W. O. W!! Loved it!
J. T. V.
The World's Oldest and Largest toys store in the world .
Best experience from the heart of Greater London City 🏙
Super Excited ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
S. S.
Amazing Shop, 5 floors packed with Toys and friendly staff demonstrating how some work. Well worth a visit for the experience but you will probably find the same/similar products cheaper elsewhere.
S. D.
Good selection of all the current kid fads. But also cashing in on them - a LOL jigsaw I purchased has clearly been marked up recently by £3. Find it for half the price online.
It's supposed to be a toy shop but they don't sell kites!
Staff were friendly.
E. S.
From the entrance to the last corner of this place it is absolutely amazing, it makes me smile, it makes me feel happy and it makes me feel a child again. Whatever you are looking for, you can get it in this place and even more, from plush toys to collectors items, Hamleys has everything to make you happy. Some employees do some testings of the toys and small shows and they are fun and very amusing. Love them. Do you fancy some sweets? They got them. There are facilities in the place is nice, clean, spacious and super tidy, it has gel hand stations in the shop to keep it clean and safe for you and your children. This shop is a must, if you want to come and visit London. Have a nice time!❤
A. H.
7 floors of pure childish joy.
Our 4yo absolutely loved every second of it, from the selection of toys and sweets to the awesome staff interactions. From the dancing out by the main entrance, to the demonstrations, and the conga line that went all through the store.
Highly recommended a visit if you have kids of any age.
E. P.
My son absolutely loved it here. Playmobil table was a little bit underwhelming. Just a few random old looking toys out to play with. Staff were very friendly and all of them willing to talk to my 2 year old. Would of loved a bigger hot wheels section. Definitely take your credit card as the prices are almost double any where else.
J. B.
Best toystore I ever went to. Kids loved it as well with all the demos going on. Place is buzzing with positive energy. And of course they sell almost any toy you could want and the best chocolate coins in the world
d. t.
Amazing place. We had been meaning to visit for ages. We really enjoyed the dancers and the toy testers. A vast range of toys available too.
It made our trip memorable.
A. M.
I used to love coming here as a kid, took my daughter the other day and sad to see it could use a bit of TLC, looked a bit shabby and not much effort put into displays or anything. Seeing as everything is quite expensive you'd think they'd have a bit of cash to spare doing up the place a bit. Such a shame as I specifically took my daughter up there for some of that magic and it was definitely lacking. Staff was very friendly and floor staff was engaging just needs those little magical touches that Hamleys was always known for brought back.
P. K.
Great shop but have scarce toys in the shop, I believe covid is also affecting them but I enjoy good customer relations
S. S.
Been there twice now, the most recent being November 2021. It's an awesome fun place for kids and parents alike !
Tips : Take your kids along planning to spend atleast 2 hours, it will give them enough time to explore all 6 floors, take pics, play with toys, and other activities like watching magic tricks, nailpaints, hand tattoos, puzzle games, toy demos, etc
T. B.
As a child I used to love this place because it was a fun, beautiful, heavenly place. As an adult I still find this place beautiful but there were more candy options before. They added an amazing Harry Potter section, which I loved. But to be honest the same products (same quality and originality) are cheaper in other places. There are lots of novelty items from Harry Potter, LOTR, Star Wars etc etc. I think it's safe to say that no matter what age you are, you'll find this place amazing, with only one difference: you realise how expensive it is.
D. J.
Been to this shop every year and never get tired.
It is incredible how everyone is playing and having fun
The xmas spirit is everywhere
C.
Fantastic place, unfortunately very very busy, only one tiny lift working so with a buggy we were constantly queuing to got to different floors.
The worst part was when one of the team there started talking to my 3 year old and my wife and then got her to try on a snow white outfit told her she was beautiful then said mummy and daddy should buy it and walked off, leaving me to try and explain that daddy couldn't drop £50 on an outfit that half the price on Amazon whilst an audience of other parents who all looked relieved that it wasn't their little one having a melt down!!
1. P.
Best experience ever my boys alway s loves coming in here.
G. B.
Lovely shop, whatever you looking for I am sure you can find it there within it's many floors and different themes. They have some unique items as well.
Also, worth to mention toilets located within top floor are nice and clean which is not always the case in the large shops open to public.
D. F.
Iconic toy store in London with the most incredible selection of toys and displays. A great experience and one not to be missed if you have children. These sort of shops really don't exist anymore making Hamley's even more special.
A. A.
This is a review for Hamleys Wafflemeister.
Went for the 'Dream Team' Waffle with Ice Cream, they are freshly made in front of you while you wait. It cost approx £5 for the waffle with ice cream. They dont have many ice cream flavours to choose from.
The waffle wasnt that good tbh it smelt better than it tasted, also the queuing system is unclear, all it needs is a sign to say 'pay here' and 'collect here' to clear confusion. We and others wasted time by waiting in the wrong line because of this.
A. E.
This is the best toy shop in england. Its huge you can easily spend a entire day there. I love it staff are friendly and helpful. You need to go there early as it takes ages to complete all the floors with toys. Pricey as hell but it's a nice shop and experience.
R. R.
I wanted to go there for long time, finally i have been there. All in one. I never knew they have hornby collection as well.
J. M.
Picked up a fluffy pink bunny for my soon to be born daughter and had a good look around the shop. Some stuff is a little outrageously priced, but you kinda expect that with Hamleys. Some of the staff were shouting at each other about something in what sounded like Italian, so that was a little u professional.
C. B.
Great place to visit over 5 floors of different things to get and even some magic on show
D. C.
Just went for a quick look round, found prices a lot dearer than normal shops especially lego
R. C. T.
We booked to see Santa on a Sunday in December, 9:30am, VIP visit for £45, this gets you an elf to greet you, 15 minutes with Santa, and the whole store to ourselves till it opened at 12pm, that's right, all 7 floors of toy heaven, during a pandemic, it was perfect, no crowds, actually no people period. You can't pay for anything until the tills open but you can shop till your hearts content.
When we were done we gave our bag to a member of staff and went for lunch, when we got back the queue was huge but we again were greeted by our elf and allowed to queue jump, felt very special, went straight to the till and bought our toys, got in the car that was parked just round the corner due to no parking restrictions, back home by 3pm. A perfect day. I highly recommend it.
K. H.
Mad busy but then, it's a toy shop and we went during the summer holiday! Only a bit disappointed because something we'd seen discounted online and wanted to check for ourselves wasn't discounted in store
R. S.
Wonderful experience to visit one of the most famous shops in the world. Lots to see and fantastic staff. Christmas shop worth a visit even just to browse.
G. L.
Toy heaven, probably the best toy shop. It was great to go around the store and see what is upto date for children at the moment and not just video games. Good for kids of all ages.
H. R.
Great store and lots to see and do and lots of photo opportunities too. They have some live theatre outside the front that is fun and lots of different floors to cater for all sorts of ages. My kids love it and although some of it is at the higher end of the price point there is also some more pocket or birthday money toys that are affordable too. They have live demonstrations that add to the magic and all the staff are super friendly and helpful. There isn't a massive wait to go in now either which helps and you should be able to get he toy that you wanted or even some that you didn't know you wanted ;)
C. L. M.
Great time looking around with my husband & 6yr old granddaughter 😊 loved the time the staff took doing treats for the children & doing their demonstrations it made them feel special ! Amazing place & pleasantly surprised at the offers on in store too ! Great visit
E. W.
Such a great toy shop. The staff are always doing some sort of demo with toys which the kids really enjoy. You have to visit here when in London.
S. S.
Tourist trap. Super busy. Staff really enthusiastic. Fun place for little ones.
D. D. C.
Excellent place to visit with kid's ...we can easily spend 2 hours exploring different sections and varieties of toys.
S. L.
A wonderful experience with friendly, helpful staff. The shop floor was carefully laid out and looked really tidy. Staff were everywhere and were helpful and not overbearing or pushy. Amazing selection of toys and games. Expensive but worth it.
L. M.
Great place. Managed 4 floors that's all. Very busy. Lovely to see lots of happy children. Staff are jolly too. Great for children to go and experience.
H. P.
Has an average window display compared to other years In my opinion. Has 5 floors and below basement floors too( forgot to explore these)
As usual lots of demonstraters and elves dancing out in the street.
My great nephew loved it all with eyes opened wide!
Price's are London extortionate one's but only go if you have some spare cash otherwise very unfair on the kids!
L. C.
3 floors was enough. Store staff were entertaining (with their wizards wands). 🤣 Expensive (that's central London for you)
m. l.
Initial impression brought back happy childhood memories, when Hamley's was the highlight of a London trip....sadly beyond the front entrance the experience didn't live up to expectations. Whilst it was still fun to explore 6 floors of toys with three young kids, the interactions with staff were rather forced, and layout not conducive to browsing. Unless specific to their toy, staff seemed to lack knowledge on layout and toy details. Overall, it's still a must visit for a family trip to London, but the experience didn't make it worth spending money on overpriced products
R. R.
Cool store, but got jumped by 6 sales people!! One very forcefull and even put £120 toy in our 8 year old bag! Told him that we had to buy it, caused a massive issue.
The £18 remote control mouse was also junk! Shame, this place has an awesome opertunity to be something great like it was time ago, go to Toys R Us
I. C.
Have to be careful today the Grinch was outside stealing children and toys. Hamleys was as magical as usual and my daughter was truly amazed. If you have children where else would you need to take them to look at toys.
S. P.
The staff working there is excellent. They put on a great show!
The name precedes itself and of course is a place that offers a good variety of toys, which price range varies (but more on the costly side).
Good location.
S. B.
Find what ever you want ..toy wise, really good, does get busy tho.
J. L.
Of course a famous place to visit with your kids/teens ! Or alone if you still love cartoons and toys. There is always several animations with the staff and there a 6 floors to explore to find THE present.
M. M.
It's safe to say that this place is a paradise for children and parents who can afford the prices. They have all the toys you ever dreamt of buying. The atmosphere is fantastic as you find yourself in your childhood dream place. No doubt the best time to visit is obviously Christmas.
S. G.
Amazing place! 7 floors ! Each floor dedicated to a particular section, which makes it easy to find what we need. Will visit again!
J. C.
Bloody expensive, they like to advertise tat to the kids in a hope you buy the cheaply made but dear stuff. Kids enjoyed looking around and did buy something that was fairly priced in the end from the HP range 😀
C. W.
This used to be the world's leading toy shop, now it's a shadow of it's former self. Everywhere you look the fixtures and fittings look tired and worn. The whole place needs an overhaul to bring it back.
F. K.
I had a great experience ordering from cherish. The staff were very helpful with helping me had extra weight to the baby and she arrived within a week of ordering. She looks even better and more realistic then the pictures. Lovely baby and great customer service. Will definitely order from here again and highly recommend.
P. T. L. S. c.
Toys price are bit different from other shops but they have wide range of most of leading toy brands harry potter lovers must visit once apart from this I love to shop from Hamleys.
K. J.
Massive selection. Brilliantly for us the shop was empty, sad to see it devoid of families. It was lovely and spacious so don't be put off going!
A. T.
Very nice looking store and it's massive. Came in looking for pokemon boxes but nothing special when I went. Did get some single packs and staff were friendly.
N. H.
Such a buzz during the Christmas rush! 😂 But if you're in a rush, helps if you know your way around eh! It's good that MOST of the staff are eagre to help and ensure that you're happy.
Fantastic. The finest toy shop in the world, I've been going for 50 years
F. F.
There was An amazing staff member who helped me and my son. When he was feeling very hot and bothered. They looked after us and allowed us to go to a quiet place and rest.
I am very very sad at the moment though due to losing my hat that my recently departed mother bought me there. Hopefully they have found it by tomorrow. Fingers crossed
M. C.
The staff are lovely. Lots of wonderful toys. Child's paradise!
I really wish they would make the toy colors more gender neutral. There's a 'pink floor' which seems to have the 'girls toys' in it and it's a bit off-putting.
J. C.
Not the store I remember from 20 years ago. Less focus now on fun and adventure, more on making money. Pack em high, sell em not so cheap is the motto of the day. Still an experience, but only really for younger kids, maybe up to 10yrs. Very very busy. Avoid if you don't like crowds.
P. S.
Hmm, it was only OK but worth a trip if you're nearby. My partner collects Barbie and there wasnt much of a selection with any Smyth's Toys having more, plenty of selection in general of everything but maybe that's the issue.
U. K.
Good fun store. Great selection of toys.
S.
I love it here! A must see for any family or lover of toys. Huge selection of cuddly toys on first floor.
V. S.
Crazy big place, but the staff are so friendly and happy. It is an utmost happy experience. Even my teenagers thought it was a funny place!
S. M.
We knew the products would be good but the staff were what made it a great experience. Really engaging with our son, very friendly and helpful.
F. A.
Iconic toy store; always super busy though and it doesn't help when one of two lifts is out of order making it super cumbersome to reach other floors with a pram or stroller. Otherwise there's something for babies of all ages and the staff are helpful, diligent and dedicated.
S. H.
Was disappointed this years teddy had no hat & also no gold coins either but its my fave place to shop at Christmas
R. T.
Amazing experience! What a fun welcome you receive my son loved his shopping experience 😀 will definitely be back!
J. D.
Best experience yet at Hamleys. We got there in time for the opening ceremony and it never felt crowed. Lovely start to a festive day in London.
D. R.
Great place to visit and plenty good deals. Staff were enthusiastic which created a great atmosphere for the kids (5&8).
P. S.
Equal parts heaven and hell, depending on your age and outlook. Marvel at the queue of pushchairs waiting at the lifts; admire the small teddies priced at £39 each; dodge the shrieking children and jester-like staff throwing toys around. But beyond all that, it is an unparalleled treasure trove of all things fun. Just don't expect to get anything for less than £30.
For cheap stocking fillers you're better off at Waterstones, who have loads of cheap tat near the tills.
B. I.
Great store, and a must visit "attraction" with the kids. Pricing on items isn't great, but staff were helpful finding out etc. Love the demos. Gents toilets were a bit scruffy though.
S.
It's an amazing place full of kids stuff. They have 5 floors full of toys and weird gadgets for kids. I became one myself when i went there and it was so much fun. You can get easily get lost there lol! If you want to buy anything for your kids or want to gift to someone's kid this is the place! Do check out my photos.
G. C.
Best place ever - Dylan, aged 6
K. W.
Who doesn't love a visit to Hamleys?
Of course my now 9 year old went AWOL. The Hamleys staff were fanatastic! Took me to their lost children command centre and by the time I had arrived they had already located my son.
So nice to be there before Christmas as we were there on maybe the first day they were open 18 months ago and there were tumbleweeds blowing through the shop it was so bereft of customers.
My son just loves remembering how many times it was bombed during WW2. Waiting for it to open last year.
J. s.
Lack of range, big shop just has 50 of everything rather than 50 different Lego kits.
No seating anywhere which can be tiring with kids.
Still a must see I guess.
R. T.
As toy shops go, you can't really beat it.
Disappointed that the only toys demonstrated by women were colouring pens, while the men got to demo the cool drones and rc cars and gliders and magic bubbles. Come on Hamleys. It's 2021! And if the men are going to do all the demos, maybe they shouldn't repeatedly throw things at the faces of passing women to impress their crowd of fans.
L. T.
The best toy shop for little one. You can find almost everthing there. Its hard not to grab any the moment you in the shop. Your kids will surely enjoy their visit here. Must explore if you in London
J. C.
Such a great place to visit over 5 floors of toys, collectable items and more.
The 5th floor does have a toilets, and they have a lift that covers all floors.
Hamleys have a huge variety of toys and stuffed animals. They also have a build a bear section a sweet section lego a sweet section and much much more!!
P. M.
Love this place , best place to visit for kids
L. G.
Popped in with my 8 year old during our weekend trip to London. The place is a child's dream. Every floor packed with another toy range, and staff dotted throughout providing demonstrations. Some product lines however are overpriced. My daughter is a fan of Our Generarion dolls which retail between 30 for the standard doll to 40 for the premium range. The standard dolls in hamleys were around 50. So I probably wouldn't recommend hamleys if you're shopping for a specific toy (you'll no doubt get it cheaper elsewhere) but great as an experience for kids.
J. D.
Hamleys is great for nostalgia, but it gets so busy, you can't enjoy the experience.
If I'm honest most toys have a premium added on because it's Hamleys.
It's worth a visit if you are in the area, but be prepared for long waits for lifts if you have pushchairs or wheelchairs.
S. E.
This is the London Iconic store .
The biggest toy mega store in the world .
I am an adult and I love toys.
This store has every physical toy your children or even myself dreamt about.
It's 5 floors with toys.
It is fantastic , and very crowded.
There are toys for every age range.
Also there are Lego , all toys characters , magic tricks.
When you visit London , you should visit this store.
D. B.
Really busy, my little girl loved this place, seeing her face light up on entering the front doors, staff amazing, a group dressed as elves at the front entrance even hailed down a taxi for my family. Great job Hamleys
A. s.
Cant believe Santa didn't drop a gift for the small people. A colouring book would have done!! After all the plenty questions, no gift for the small people!!! 😒
It's Hamleys... They ought to try update the store or call it something like the oldest toy store in the world!!!
Still 4 Stars though, 'cause I do really like that place!
B. A. S.
The world famous Hamleys is more an experience than a toy store. Five richly decorated floors stuffed with every imaginable toy, sorted by brands and franchises (from Harry Potter to Star Wars). A unique aspect of the store is that employees give live demonstrations of particular toys throughout the store.
R. J.
It definitely lives up to it's name. Floors upon floors of toys for all the little ones with varying price ranges. Will go back.
J. H.
Lovely to return here after 42 years. I am glad to say the electronic chess game I played with last time I was there seems to have been sold! Great.
R. L.
It is an adventure visiting this big toy shop. Staff friendly and welcoming, great selection of toys - amazing selection of soft toys on the ground floor. Demonstrations every day. Prices could be cheaper, I suppose, although many prices will be the same everywhere. It does get very busy.
J. T.
Took our grandsons here for the second time in their lives. We're from the U.S. and Hamley's is the way toy stores used to be. Their associates were polite to the questions we asked and provided us with the info asked for. Oh, to be a kid again!
P. W.
The world largest toy store in our great capitol city London.
Bright and clean staff go the extra mile always.
Karoke is fun.
Merry christmas to you and all your family and friends.
Kind Regards Paul the Trumpet wise x
I. T.
The most iconic toy shop in London. It is a must visit for tourists, especially families. Plenty of staff around to not only assist but give demonstrations of their toys.
Spanning over many floors, a lot of the selections are only available there.
Staff are friendly and the place is very interactive. You can easily spend over an hour there.
J. S.
An amazing place! Lots of floors in the building to visit and a huge range of toys for babies upwards. Lots of staff demonstrating things My only gripe is the fact they have inflated their prices by a fair whack which, considering how busy they are, isn't really fair. My daughter bought a Sylvanian families set for £15 but in other toys shops it's only £9.99.
C. S.
My son feel in love with a penguin. He was sure the decimal point was in the wrong place on the price tag, bless him. There is so much to see in this shop. The experience was marred by the dull shop assistants, let's face it, if your u10s say that, there's a hint of truth. Don't let that put you off exploring this iconic shop.
S. K.
Big store , big fun for kids and amazing collection of toys. This is 4 stored building and each floor have different collection of toys. My pics might help you to see the collection by floor.
P. S.
I use to go to this store when I was a chil and return Ed in the 90s, I love to see the barbies dolls and things for your doll house Suddenly there is nothing of that now, and not a great variety of toys But the staff is friendly
E. R.
Amazing place with all the kind of toys you can imagine.
Makes you feel like a kid again.
b.
Amazing place to bring your kids a toy store with 6 floors what more can you ask for, also good for all ages I'm sure most adults that go in there are blown away too. All of the staff around the shop demonstrate all of the toys and items, so much to see could spend hours in there got a big variety from Game of Thrones Batman Lord of the rings Marvel DC Harry Potter Pokemon and many many more items & toys, cars that drive on the ceiling flying planes & drones.
h.
Probably the best toy store in the UK. Nuff said!
K. B.
I wanted to get some gifts for a friend's kids. Its been ages since I bought toys but I thought, how hard could it be right..? Walked in with my daughter and scared ourselves.
The options were OVERWHELMING. Four whole floors of a mad variety of toys. It was organised chaos with kids and even parents running around dashing from shelf to shelf. Shouts of 'ooooh look at this', or 'awesome'.
Sigh we managed to restrain ourselves to 10 items....😁
C. k.
(7yr old Izzys words) You should go because you can play with the toys, the staff are really nice and friendly. I got my nails done, hair coloured and a tattoo.
(Dad's words) Parents beware!! hours can pass by and money can disappear in this shop. It is really cool though and it will blow your kids minds.
H. F.
Not as good as it was pre Covid. Feel a lot of the life had been sucked out of it due to getting rid of a lot of the interactive kiosks disappearing.
a.
Such a wonderful toy shop - just wandering around and taking in the different toys and displays feels like a day out in itself. We loved the Harry Potter merchandise and the Lego displays. Something for everyone!
H. W.
Great toy store. Kids loved the demonstrations of certain toys. It was very busy and we had to queue outside to get in. Staff were friendly and passionate about there jobs. Toys are definitely marked up though.
J. W.
Busy with queues for Christmas present shopping, nice decorations.
S. B.
Nice to visit but more than double or triple the price of other toy stores or Amazon for the same item
B. U.
Quite an amazing toy store to go through. There are multiple levels of toys, each designated to a certain age group or types of toys. Most floors have a demonstration of specific toys or an area where you can play with some toys. I was quite intrigued by the remote control car which drove up walls.
They do have a toilet on the top floor, as well as a cafe. There are lifts but they were really slow since they were heavily used. It was really enjoyable walking through the shop looking at all the toys available. They also had collectable items like for Lord of the Rings.
It was really busy but is worth a stop just to see what a toy shop should be.
T. S.
Huge, helpful and friendly staff and loads of Toys! Prices are surprisingly reasonable as well
L. L.
Kids loved exploring :) so much to see they especially enjoyed the karaoke. Very busy but to be expected around Christmas.
J. S.
Cant believe a bloody toy shop can be busy a week before crimbo. Who would have thought that kids want toys for the festive period. Seriously packed and seriously overpriced
L. P.
5 floors of pure fun. Transported me back to being a child. Everything you could ever want for children in here.....and some. Love this place
C. S.
Amazing toy shop, 5 floors of child heaven. Great parade for half term and not too busy.
L. K. (.
The best toys store in London. Especially if you want to buy, thousands choices for Harry Potter, Lego and many other famous toys collection. The best place for kids and adults.
P. G. E. W.
I have never been in such a magical place in all my life. Walking into this store immediately brings back your inner child. It is fantastic! The only thing comparable to Hamleys is Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium! Hamleys is better, because it is real! They have different toys on every level! Each level used to have a specific type of toys. They had one for Legos, Lincoln Logs, Erector Sets, etc. It was there builder level. One for dolls. One for remote control toys. Old fashioned toys. Multiple levels to this store. You could spend hours in here. You name it, they probably have it. They have people demonstrating stuff. You can actually play with the toys! Or at least they used to allow you to do so. Not sure since Covid. Hamleys is the most amazing toy shop in the world. For adults & children alike, if you are going to London. This is an absolute MUST see! Not including my regular pictures, because I don't want to spoil the magic!
1. S.
Everything is quite expensive
The services great. They will introduce everything in detail. On the fourth floor there is many drones flying around. It is wonderful.
The shop is huge and attach lots of people to go in. If the price can be lower will let more people to buy.
I found many toys inside but most of them are for the age lower than 11
You may not feel interesting if you are teenagers or adults
But for kids it is a heaven. The dream world for them.
M. M.
Probably the best and most famous toy shop in London. If its a toy or game they have it and now with the addition of everything Harry Potter. It can feel 'over the top' and organised mayhem at times but if you're going to the West End it's a must visit.
A. K.
As usual, Hamleys never disappoint. The selection of toy, their arrangement, and the sheer enthusiasm of their staff just keeps the spirits high. Even if you do not buy anything, you can make a day out of this five storey place. Don't forget to check the live drone demos and various figures built of legos. A small room for improvement - the waffles sold on the ground floor could be fresher, weren't so fresh the last time we tried them on Saturday afternoon
L. A. O.
Best toy shop stop for any child, and parent ,that's still got playful kid attitude toward fun filled play
L. C.
Best shop for the children and babys in London !! Impressive choice of toys, books, teddy bears over several floors ! It is literally paradise for the kids !! There are a lot of shows inside the store to see what are the most popular toys of the year ! I recommend to stop there ! It is impossible not to find what you are looking for.
M. T.
Very good place for shopping Toys especially at Christmas time, however during my interview experience I have felt a little bit not very welcomed by some of the member staff as I entered the back stage door of the building.
R. M.
Kids loved it, my wallet perhaps not so much.. Staff were really friendly, had a bear meeting the kids and handing out a free gift which made their day, build a bear workshop won this time. Get the aircon fixed and could have been a 5!
A. K.
A must see! But be warned... It's busy and expensive. Though, you probably expected that with it being a London classic! The shop itself is huge, filled with every variety of toy you could possibly think of throughout five different floors. Which makes it a lot of fun to look around, even for adults. The live demonstrations and in-character, friendly staff will most likely be the main reason your children will remember the trip to this shop for a long time though. Check it out, but be wary of just how crazy it can get!
O. U.
Amazing toys for my little brother, he was astounded! Pretty good prices for the value as well 👍
D. P.
Great place for toys
A. D. B.
A horror on a saturday or sunday afternoon. So crowded you can't get through the door. Find a quieter moment to go and you'll enjoy the magical place. Especially if you look at it through a child's eyes.
Y. S.
Amazing store for every age group of kids and their toys needs ... Their collection is just superb and up-to-date with latest market trends.
Kids will gonna enjoy visiting the outlet full of toys all around.
J. P.
Amazing toy shop I went shopping for my daughter and me and my partner loved it as it brought the inner child out in us such a magical store, staff are absolutely lovely and talkative and helpful would definitely recommend going here 😁👍
V.
Move over kids it's time for mummy and daddy to play with the toys here! Oh what an amazing place. So many toys and stuff to see. We loved the Harry Potter level as well as the castle area. One of the guys did try to tire out my son by making him chase the toy car but it didn't work!!
Defo a place to go and visit whilst in London with or without the kiddies
m. h.
My children had an amazing time exploring over 4 floors of this store. The demonstrations (especially the slime bubbles) had them fascinated.
Maheak, and the two ladies at snails nails faezah and Robyn had excellent customer service, really engaged with the children and we ended up spending a lot more than we intended!
O. N.
Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The store itself was looking a little run down. My son loves hotwheels and was looking forward to seeing the selection you had but was disappointed to find that you didn't have many at all! My daughter loved the teddies but found it very expensive. Good but not unlike anyother toy shop.
E. C.
Far too crowded and nothing spectacular that you can't purchase elsewhere. Staff having interactive displays of toys is a nice touch if you're visiting with children only drawback is it's so busy you can't really stop to watch
A. S.
I can see what all the fuss is about for kids and I'm more than happy that we went and did it, even bought the photo and my son can't wait to visit again. However the actual store itself doesn't really have that many toys so to speak.
s. s.
It’s one of iconic store of London , this store is almost 261 years old . You can get variety of toys here . Store is has 5 floors , each floors has different kind of store . This stores always crowded . similar toys you can buy at less price from Smyths and Entertainer
V. S.
6 floors of toys for all ranges of children, it's just paradise for all of them and during Christmas time is just so nice and pleasant.
D. B.
Brilliant... never realised how big this store is ! There's almost too much choice. Great interactive staff.
S. P.
Nice toy shop. Ground floor and the displays are amazing. The other floors have loat their charm.
F. T.
Great experience to be there full of joy and happiness all members of staff were friendly specially with kids
R. O.
What a cool store this is had a weekend in London so thought I must get the grandchildren some gifts. Although is slightly expensive so much too choose from. A whole floor each for different ages and toys. Highly recommend must see this place.
P. O. B.
Very busy. Had the Santa experience with my foster kids, malfunction on the family picture so no official Santa pics. Overcrowded, overpriced with staff being over zealous to sell.
S. L.
Kids loved visiting the store lots of toys for all ages and staff demonstrated some toys. Have been previously anf felt that the store had fewer options now, but that could be due to ongoing supply issues as a consequence of covid.
S. V.
I love this store 😍😍 It was a wonderful experience even for an adult 😁 obviously It would be fantastic for children as the staff were playing and dancing all the time.
The price of products are reasonable as they have good quality and you are shopping in central London 🥲
a. s.
Wonderful place ... just being here makes you happy ... kids definitely love this place but even adults like it ... the overall interiors is neatly done ... they have a Star Wars section with star war theme toys ..... the staff is very friendly and keep the place live with some demos ... overall a fun place to be
A. G.
Great place to shop for that special toys you always wanted for you or your loved ones. Pretty cool window decorations too
T. K.
OK, so Hamleys is Hamleys and it is a bit of an experience, definitely as a kid, but it is overrated. A lot of the stuff is overpriced. For example, they sell Lego marked up in many cases by about 30% which is ridiculous. Just go down to the Lego Store instead. And if you want choice, these days even Smyths is better for that. Go and check it out, but be mindful that you're paying over the odds for many things.
K. M.
I love going to Hamleys it's just a shame it's always jammed packed with people. I feel it was a little irresponsible not having any crowd control during Covid tho... They weren't even making sure people were wearing masks
O. O.
What can you say? If you're looking for a popular game or toy and it's not stocked by Hamleys, check again if it is that popular. I love the way they have attendants demonstrating some of the products
K. M.
I have to say, I went at christmas and whilst it is a HUGE place, I was shocked at the pricing and not really blown away. Maybe expectations were too high
E. D.
Went looking for the Lego flowers set and Pokemon cards, they didn’t have either of these things. Sure there are a lot of toys but not always what you want, a little disappointing as these are otherwise not hard items to find.
M. T.
My son enjoyed it, not quite as interactive as I remember it as a kid but the dancing elves were great.
L. W.
Great place for children, both young and old. Lots of games, dolls, board games, Harry Potter goodies, train sets, scalextric. The list goes on. You can spend all day in this shop quite easily.
P. C.
Tourist Honey Pot! Over inflated prices on all items! Nice place to visit and will keep the children happy! May even bring some childhood memories back. That's ticked off my bucket list of shops to visit!
M. H.
Love it!!!
I’ve been there like a million times and weirdly
enough I don’t have any pictures!
To be honest, usually I’m too busy running around exploring to be taking pictures 😁
The place is Huge!
Six floors fool of toys (counting the basement too). They have everything you can think of.
The Basement’s theme is Harry Potter - cloaks, sweaters, t-shirts, games, books, stuffed toys.
First floor - stuffed animals - any kind of animal you can think of and any size.
Second floor - girly toys (Barbie dolls, kid’s make up, books, karaoke)
Third floor - boyish toys (cars, trains, lego)
Forth floor - puzzles, board games, some more Harry Potter, and few Game of thrones and Lord of the rings toys.
Fifth floor - candies 🍭 and some more toys; also super impressive statue of The Queen made from Lego!
Now, I don’t remember every floor’s arrangement exactly, so you will have to excuse me if it’s not the same order I’m giving you here but they also have Peppa Pig corner, Lego, the iconic Schleich animals, floating toys for the bath and many, many more.
The only downside is that most of the toys are very expensive. If you go often you can catch a promotion or discount, this is how I bought all of my stuffed animals 😁
A. F.
This is the place to be if have children or you just want to free the child that every one of us have. Many levels with different themes and assorted toys. There were a couple of guys entertaining passerbies with funny costumes from Pirates from the Caribbean. It's outstanding the memorabilia that you can find about Game of thrones, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. If you are a huge fan of any of this sagas definetely this is the place to be at!!!
M. D.
A brilliant toy shop - not only shopping but also a top experience. Kids love it. Multi storey of toys, Star Wars, magician toys, planes, dolls, every single toy possible & impossible it’s there. There are demonstrations of various toys to show you what to do with them. It ain’t cheap! Child, buggy friendly of course, they have lifts & they have toilets too! Must visit when around regent Street ( in between Piccadilly Circus & Oxford Street!)
N. M.
Great big shop, lots of stock but wow is it expensive and the shop is looking tired now over the years
M. “. D.
Great place for Kids to visit just make sure you have money 😁
V. L.
It's very nice place to see more interesting toys
m. g.
Need to sort out the basement area..lack of imagination. Staff not encouraged to creative. Such as basketball all net. No interactive consoles. Magic trick demonstrations were good.
N. J.
I remember going as a child. Didn't live up to those brilliant days of coming to London to choose our Christmas present. Quite disappointed and left without buying my grandson his present.
K. E.
It was such a surprise to go in this store. It has 5 levels. Different items on each level. Something for every member of the family. I would recommend this for kids and adults.
S. C.
Lifts weren't working so buggies on the escalator! Good treat for the kids
M. B.
Showpiece famous Toy store in London.
Great demostrations of the latest products, however it's expensive and most people will visit and buy elsewhere online these days.
Great experiecne for the kids though.
A. N.
It is a huge shop indeed. But we couldn't find suitable toys for our 3 year old daughter. She saw couple of cartoon characters, but not real toys of them. The prices seemed bit high.
A. G.
Great place to buy toys for kids as there are so many levels to explore. Staff were helpful and entertaining. I was however disappointed that they sell some cheap toys that are overly priced in some of their sales demonstration booth. I had high expectations from a reputable name that they would just carry good quality toys.
N.
Incredible array of toys for kids of all ages. The basement is almost fully dedicated to Harry Potter merchandise.
N. R.
Wow what an awesome toy store! It's five floors of heaven for the little ones. The employees are playing (demonstrating) toys, so watch out for flying objects. I have never been to a toy store like this, my family loved it there.
R. C.
My son loved it, when he wanted the candy canes I was happy until i realised they were £2 each.......misleading signage didn't help. But son loved it
H. R.
Would get a 5 with a better cafe. Took my nephew today and he loved it. There were lots of staff that were quite pushy selling not so cheap tat products that light up. The cafe is extremely limited. If they had have sold sandwiches I could have fed my nephew and then spent longer in store...and more money. Instead he was hungry so we ended up leaving.
A. F.
Some of the toys are expensive when compared with argos/smyths etc but that's the going rate when shopping at Hamleys, the staff are great when interacting with kids and parents alike but that's why you go here, 7 floors filled with toys! There is also a wafflemeister on the ground floor by the tills to pass the time while children run riot. There are only 2 lifts which can be a challenge so give yourself more time if like me you have at least 2 prams to push around.
B. G.
Amazing, my 1st time there, lots of staff on hand for help if needed, demos being done on every floor, some toys are exspensive but this is london. You can walk round for hours and spend hours and a fortune but the kids will love it
c. c.
A huge an impressive toy shop with a massive selection. I think the process reflect the reputation of this business's reputation, not cheap but probably not totally out of order and it is on central London.
m. l.
Took the kids in for an hour and great to have a look around but why would you shop here when prices are 25% higher than most toys shops or online, unless you really want a hamleys bag
G. C.
Fantastic toy store, I visited today with my granddaughter, it was magical and the Christmas Grinch was the star of the show.
G. H.
Fantastic experience in an amazing toy shop. 6 floors of every toy imaginable. Staff are usually found playing with the toys or stood at a stand displaying how some of the funky bits and pieces work. Well worth a visit whether you have the kids with you or not
A. A.
Been to Hamleys nearly 30 years ago . Visiting it back bring vivid memories. Still the same great shot that sells good quality toys.
C. A.
A busy store but well worth visiting. Only issue we had on our visit was one of the lifts were out of use so anyone with a pushchair had to use one lift which is almost always full.
f.
Good environment, toilets and lift facilities available, some toys are expensive as compare to other retailers like argos and amazon but on the other hand the shopping experience was really good.
J. O.
Most epic toystore. My son had the privilege of being able to ring the bell a few years back. Highly recommended.
D. O.
Huge toy store. Various toys for girls and boys. Lots of children books and baby toys too. Nice place to visit with your kids
S. H.
This toy shop is amazing a must visit in London, love the atmosphere and the range is crazy, only thing if you have a baby and need your pram it’s a bit of a nightmare, they do have lifts but there very slow we spent a good 20 minutes plus waiting each time to go between floors.
R. G.
What to say when this place is every little one’s dream to visit. 7 floors of pure Toy heaven, something to cater for every gender and age group. A little busy but it is to be expected. Had booked my son to see Santa’s Grotto a few months ago, staff were helpful to direct us to it and as we were late with trains also accommodated my son to still have the full experience. He enjoyed himself and Santa was friendly also. We bought him a treat at the Build a Bear station, this bit was a little slow due to staffing.
E. D. L.
Floors and floors of toys, beautifully crafted teddy bears, and literally anything for any age. Half a floor dedicated to Star Wars. Toys for small kids are very affordable, but some things are overpriced compared to other stores in central London (some Lego sets cost 40% more than what you normally see them at).
It's a bit chaotic, but can be fun to visit if you're a tourist in London.
A. I.
Huge 7 floors toys shop for kids of all ages. Great to find new ideas and to try the most recent toys. Overpriced even when price is annoynced as a deal, which is expected for such a place in the heart of London
D. T.
Hamleys is an iconic London destination. It’s a great place to wander around and explore the world of toys. The shop is huge, taking up multiple floors. You could get lost in here. They have a wide variety of toys for all ages and interests. It’s a bit like Toys “R” Us that used to exist in the USA. The friendly staff are happy to demonstrate the toys and to give suggestions. The prices are a bit high compare to other shops and what you can find online but the experience is memorable.
M. L.
Very neat toy store. I don't have children and I didn't buy anything for myself, and it was still worth the visit. Toys for every generation as well as new stuff, making it a fun visit.
N. D.
Very beautiful , but very expensive. The playmobils are 30,% more expensive than Greece. But the souvenirs of London are cheap and unique , personally i bought all my presents from there.
F. M. M.
Hamleys is the oldest and largest toy shop in the world and one of the world's best-known retailers of toys. Founded by William Hamleyas "Noahs Ark" in High Holborn, London, in 1760, it moved to its current site on Regent Street in 1881. This flagship store is set over seven floors, with more than 50,000 lines of toys on sale. It is considered one of the city's prominent tourist attractions, receiving around five million visitors each year. The chain has ten other outlets in the United Kingdom and also has more than 60 franchises worldwide.
M. D.
Toys, toys galore. Parent and children’s paradise.
H. D.
Good place for children gift 🎁👍🏻
V. G.
As mind blowing as usual, so many toys all in one place. A Christmas tradition for my husband and I xx
W. M.
Every child's dream is probably to be locked for a day inside of this store 😊
Staff super helpful, super nice and super friendly.
One of the lifts is not working but they do all they can to help ☺️ thanks guys
A. K.
I love Hamleys, it's a kids dream and as an adult growing up with Hamleys I just had to revisit this beautiful store once again after 10 years. I still looks the same and it doesn't disappoint. They have everything and the people that work there are smiling all the time. Great toy store!
T. G.
Could be the worlds greatest toy store. Eye popping, with fun stuff you haven't seen anywhere else. Lots of cheerful helpers showing off the latest toys and gadgets you didn't know you have to have, till now.
A. B.
Now this is a toy store. 5+ floors dedicated to fun and just being a kid. Loved the themed floors and the product demos happening throughout the floor. We found exactly what we were looking for and more.
M. R.
Everyone needs to go to hamleys at least once. Very helpful staff, loads of items you can't get anywhere else's. A must if your a Harry Potter fan.
S. C.
Excellent shop and staff interaction with the children is second to none.
K. H.
Had to take a defective toy back only it wasn't defective the lady who dealt with us was brilliant she not only put new batteries in but never charged us,with service like that will definitely go back
I. R.
Great experience for the kids but prices are extortionate! I remember it being expensive 20 years ago but now it's really just for the tourists.
J.
Great place for all ages. Mainly for children ☺ great for trying out the product before you buy. Didn't like the staff shouting out but understood it's to get your attention to buy product. We enjoyed all the levels set out well
E. N.
I take my kid here once a year - 6(?) floors of toys and always magicians and others to watch - fun friendly
M. C.
extremely helpful staff who are clearly passionate about working there, and a nice range of toys for kids, and quite a few for adults as well
y. b.
Took 2 of my Grandaughters to Hamleys store, they love looking around and watching the staff demonstrating different toys.Great customer service.
F. A.
Awesome shop. With 7 floors be prepared to spend at least an hour just looking around. Props to the magic and remote controlled floors for their friendly and entertaining workers showcasing the magic toys or flying helicopters amazingly around you
M. E.
Took the kids there for a fun day out. We weren't planning on buying anything as it is a very expensive toy shop, however we did end up buying some mafic tricks.
It was a fun experience for them, trying out all the different toys. Spent some time on the top floor with the lego displays. The staff are very patient, demonstrating different mafic tricks, and showing us how some toys work.
All in all we had a very enjoyable time there.
A. S.
Great place, the original toy superstore!
Very busy but fantastic place
L. H.
7 floors of toys plenty to choose from very packed and over crowded and very exspensive £32 for a plastic dinosaur figure that fits in your hand and does nothing (we didn't buy it) although lots of things to choose from
B. D.
Great atmosphere and lovely customer service. So many options to buy and reasonably priced. Would visit again
P. T.
Took my 14 month old to choose a cuddly toy. you pay a premium for whatever you buy, but you go for the experience
7 floors of every toy and game you could imagine, the staff interact with the kids really well and overall it's a great experience for the little ones.
P. M.
This shop is an experiences, not only for children but also for their parents. The only drawback: You will leave the shop with less money on your bank account. But it is worth this experience :)
J. H.
This famous toy store is five or six stories tall and packed to the brim with everything you can imagine. The basement is all Star Wars. The top floor is all LEGO. They have a unique beefeater minifig for sale. (Way over priced like most everything else here.) The vibe is great with kids soaking it all in with wide eyes. They have neat LEGO sculptures on the top floor.
P. A.
Crazy, crazy, crazy place. 6 floors of mental toy madness. We were in there for an hour with 3 kids and it felt lake half a month. Well laid out, there are clear areas for different ages and flavours of kids. What was really cool was all the people doing demos of the toys, although it feels like a bit of a desperate sell after they kind of plead with you after the demo “so will you buy one sir” and you look at your kids, and my eldest goes “nah, not good enough”... makes you laugh. Great experience. A few laughs.
G. P.
Kids seem to like it. Not sure it is amazing, but worth visit. Do not know where else you would go to get the unique toys. Not sure that it is budget friendly, but great staff and an experience.
W. K.
Review from my seven year old: I like Hamleys too much. It is too difficult to choose between all the toys. So it has to get 4 stars, not 5. Because they make it difficult to choose.
Can't fault the logic of a 7 year old 😂
G. B.
Exciting giant toy shop if you have young kids. Dedicated Harry Potter basement, Lego floor, soft toys on the ground floor. Toy demos as you walk around. Recommended.
J.
Excellent toy superstore, they’ll definitely have something for the kids birthday or Christmas presents
T. U.
That's okay but, what I can say is, just waste of money. Same type of toy's you can get in better price from other stores. It is just a big name of the shop. Else nothing. There is nothing excitement in their toys. I FOUND WASTE OF TIME. 👍👎👎👎
M. B.
Great Christmas feel. Wonderful staff.
Don't bother with Disney store, head straight to Hamleys
R. A.
Great for variety although Smyths Toys probably as good. Too busy and crowded. Staff demos okay.
B. B.
Not like it used to be... Definitely lost its original pizaaz! Now it just feels like any other overpriced toyshop
s. p.
The place to be for Xmas shopping, you always feel like a kid. Always a great experience.
S. F.
Went for the new Harry Potter floor and ended up visiting all the floors. The shop is laid out really well and it was good fun to see big Lego builds and themed layouts. The staff are really enthusiastic and it was great to see some of them, including the Hamley Bear dressed as Hogwarts students. This would be a 5 star review but the pricing on some of the Harry Potter items was super inflated... I understand this is Hamleys but £42 for an item I bought elsewhere for £25 just seemed like such an inflation.
J. K.
Was packed and busy as always but the energy the team had and display was great. For a kids toy store was kept clean, well stocked and tidy.
B. H.
A great toy shop experience with lots of friendly staff available to answer questions or demo toys. Kids had a great time spending their pocket money. No real air con in the shop though so very hot and sticky feeling on a hot day.
I. H.
My grandson absolutely loved it and was amazed by everything in there, spent over an hour while he inspected every floor. The staff demonstrations kept him gobsmacked, really struggled to get him out. A little expensive however it is London.
L. T.
A wonderful place to take children, young and old!! 😂 The staff are great at entertaining everyone at the shop entrance (hoping to entice you in 😉) once in it's lovely seeing the entertainment continue, the staff are friendly and helpful too. Seeing the children coming out of the shop with their purchase brings back many lovely memories from many a year!! 😍
L. H.
Love it always go there when visiting London love it highly recommend it definitely an experience 👍
L. L.
A nice toy shop but as we now have other big toy stores on retail parks it doesn't seem as special as it did many years ago, plus it offers nothing different to other toy stores. Hamleys prices are extremely over the top too, I noticed many toys nearly double the price of other toy shops!!! Good for a browse but nothing more in my opinion.
M. R.
Feels abit old now days (maybe thats just me thats old now lol) but kids weren't as excited as they were a Disney store for example
P. M.
The toys are definitely over priced here but it is a child's dream. 7 floors of toys and the staff are wonderful. You will not experience bad service here. If anything come here to see what toys you like and buy elsewhere.
L. M.
A wonderful place for the whole family. It is recommended to go especially to -1 floor where you will find the world of Harry Potter.
C. B.
Used to have more and a better selection. Not quite the store it used to be but still worth a visit
M. H.
Billed as one of the best toy shops in the world, Hamleys lives up to its reputation. Has toys for all budgets from pocket money to millionaires. Lots of live demonstrations, displays and also has several food and drink outlets. Whether you're 5 or 50, definitely worth a visit although beware, it can get very busy!
M. C.
Lovely toy store. They have lots of Harry Potter things, Star Wars, and Lego
C. F.
Such a fun place. There are more stories than you can imagine as well as a candy shop too. You can easily spend a few hours playing with all the toys in there
S. R.
A big and fantastic toy shop for every age. Even if you don't buy anything it is still fun to see.
G. H.
Not like our used to be, looks tired and staff interaction is limited, nothing new toys wise and very expensive
A. T.
If you come to London, you must stop by this massive toy store! They have a dedicated floor for Harry Potter, the top floor has Legos.
The staff has toy demos on each floor and I loved the atmosphere.
There were a couple of guys in the front of the store entertaining the crowd. It was a fun visit!
M. Z.
Over priced, but great experience
t.
Amazing shop but it's just a bit pricey I think you can find almost any toys in there really. If you ever going to London worth going in there.
c. s.
Not as good these days maybe because I'm older 30 years ago was better
R. C.
Big store full of toys and the best thing is that you can test out many of the toys. Its a paradise for every child.
G.
It was mega busy, and you got pushed round by shoppers like sheep being hurled into a pen. There were a lot of big empty spaces and shelves which makes me think they may have a stocking issue. Staff were giving presentations of some of the toys which was fun. The guy in the sweet shop looked like he was overworked and tired. And people were sticking their hands in the the pick n mix. Not hygienic at all. As for prices, we'll as expected not on the cheap side, but it is London. It was OK, but it's title of 'finest toy shop in the world ' is not worthy in my opinion.
T. C.
Great shop for the children perfect place to browse the shelves and do some Christmas shopping
Y. B.
Lovely selection of Toys and friendly staff.
R. M.
Iconic toy shop - still makes me feel like a kid when I go there 😃
B. G. H. o. b. s.
This shop is arranged as a home of toys for children who are most loved guests for the staff. It is really nice. The downside is sky rocketing prices. I popped in to check if they have a dino series of hot wheels car which they haven't got. But they had color shifter range that is sold for £8 per car, whereas I bought the same for £4.99 in ASDA. I fully understand that the last one is only inspiring for my family budget though. Once a year I bring my child for a toy shopping feast to Hamleys.... My "inner child" enjoys browsing soft toys shelves. They are just brilliant! Nowhere I saw such good quality toy animals as there. I hope prices will go down at least a bit.
C. L.
Good if you want stuffed toys, literally whole floors of them.. Not really many toy toys to choose from. The Pokémon stand was a joke, only one Pokémon toy and the rest of the stand filled up with random other stuff which disappointed my kids. Expensive but to be expected in this location the rent must be mad
H. ه.
It's beautiful 😍 kids will be happy there but expensive ,it's more than 3 floors
A. M.
An excellent and enormous store contains wide variety of toys for all age groups.
The dolls, flutter toys, science related stuff and magic teaching tricks’ toys are simply great.
The Star Wars and the Harry Potter related material is in the basement and attracts large young crowd.
The staff are displaying and explaining the trending toys.
S. a.
Best toy store we ever visited , massive toy display and stock availability
J. C.
Excellent toy store for children, and prices for all types of pockets.
M. R.
EDIT - I am upgrading to 3 stars as the store have been very good about trying to swiftly rectify our issue. I will upgrade further if/when the new item arrives as promised.
Travelled over 120 miles to visit the Regent St store as a special treat for my daughter's birthday, only to be sold an OVERPRICED, FAULTY item by a MISLEADING salesman. A complete rip-off and disappointment. The 'experience' is not one we will ever repeat and I would strongly advise against it. Buy cheaper anywhere else and spend the saved money on an extra treat for your little one(s), avoid their disappointment and your hassle of trying to return from a distance.
m. b.
Prepare your wallets and legs for a day of recreation and shopping. A magical 6-story store of toys, divided by themes. The children will not want to leave
I. M.
Staff are great & love entertaining the kids. They are exceptionally friendly, especially the main staff at the front door.
Products are understandably a little overpriced considering the location/rental space (you can get the some of the same things online for much less).
Definitely worth the experience. Used to love it as a kid and still love it as an adult!! :)
S. S.
Loved the frozen toy section, kids loved the demo's wanted to buy everything... defo worth a visit during the holiday period.
T. M.
Without doubt the greatest toy store in the world. Hamleys is my 7 year old daughters favourite place to visit and a trip to London is not complete without visiting this magical kingdom of toys. The staff are really fun, friendly and interactive. We will be back.
A. P. (.
Massive shop with 5 floors (if I m correct) so got plenty of different things to chose from, quiet expensive tbh, but open till late .
M. A.
Now this rating is mainly for parents with Children. Just a heads up some items is Expensive. But some items are exclusive to them. For the Older kid OK ...to pass.
P. Z.
Kids love it. Very busy and prices are certainly higher (we'd been in John Lewis just before so could compare) but a nice thing to do if you don't mind your kids badgering you for stuff!
U. M.
This is a fantastic place for kids with lots of things over its multiple floors to appeal to every child. From Harry Potter to Fortnite, Paddington to Lego everything is covered. The magician was very good and the staff in general were enthusiastic and helpful. The big problem is the price of the merchandise which can invariably be found cheaper elsewhere. However if you can afford the prices this store has everything your children could ever imagine.
J. G.
Nothing like it used to be and inflated prices at a ridiculous rate! Lego set was half the price on Amazon and still over £20 cheaper at full RRP! Staff were nice enough, but was really disappointed I'm afraid to say 😕
D. C.
Extremely fun, there is a floor for every age group to be mesmerised
R. D. G.
This shop is really cool with a lot of amazing toys. If you go there to buy something for your children or if you are a Harry Potter fan you don't want to miss this place. Just be ready to open your wallet and spend some money as it will be hard to resist.
M. K.
nice store to take the kids as a fun day, pricing is very high
A. T.
Such an amazing toy store! I've been here twice with my family and my boys have loved it every time. The staff are super friendly and there's plenty of games and toys to try out and even some freebies. The prices are certainly not for those on a budget but if your little ones have some birthday money to spend there's no better place :)
R. H.
Overrated, living on a legacy. Can't say I've ever been impressed. Daughter was also a bit underwhelmed.
C. T.
Lots of toys. Nice scale tricks cars.
s. n.
This place is a heaven for kids and grown up alike. But, ensure you enter with deep pockets as there are so much stuff on offer that you just can’t resist from buying.
R. B.
Wonderful toy shop with great staff and a fabulous couple of hours entertainment for children. It is very busy at this time of year and there is a real wait for the lifts if you are with child in a pushchair. It does seem rather pricey so would recommend it more as a day out than retail therapy.
Y. M.
Kids had a good time in hamleys today until we came across one member of staff in particular. He was very picky on the forth floor. He was happy to show off the remote control car to other families, however when it came to us he stopped the car and put it away on 2 occasions. Even after seeing my kids getting excited to see it.
s. “. k.
Very Nice store to buy toys of any kind ........heaven of toys .......
R. W. (. o. I.
Great experience. A 5 story toy store. A great London experience. I wanted to experience all facets of London. A kool European trip. I'm an adult , I couldn't not check this place out
D. K. B.
Lots of toys you don't usually see in shops, some of the toys are a bit overprices..staff enjoy showing off the toys...looks like a fun job !
N. M.
Very loud, very crowded, too many people in one closed space...which doesn't seem to me like it follows any safety measures whatsoever during the current circumstances of the Pandemic.
However, nice collection of toys.
K. A.
VERY large toy store (5 stories), with sweet and helpful staff, and lots of "test stations" where you can try all sorts of toys. (This was the thing our son liked the most). Everything is split into logical departments, so if you know what you looking for, it's easy to find.
I.
If you are crazy about Lego and did not go to Legoland, this place might give you a bit of satisfaction amongst the countless over toys they can offer!
P. C.
Even if you are well aged, or 3 years old, this is the place to be if you want to be amazed and you never been to Hamleys before.
Hours and hours of smile upon your face, the nice part from this store is that you can play with the most of the toys for free there.
I loved the personal but some of them are a little to much persuasive and try to hard to sell you stuff.
K. J.
Very expensive in comparison to say Smyths or other similar toy stores.
Saying that the store looks great and is located in a very popular part of London.
There is a novelty aspect that wares off with each scream of children that starts to grate after a short while.
There are little sections that are interactive with products throughout the store which is why I give 4* instead of 3*. These provide insight into the product and you can test before you buy, plus they were fun.
There is no parking close by.
There is a tube station very close.
Food is available close by.
It takes a while to get round the store but there are lifts and escalators to help get around.
Tip.... locate a lift and start at the top floor and work your way down.
I. A.
Very busy with it being Christmas but not nearly as busy as normal, non-Covid, years. Seemed to be lacking in new things I hadn't seen before.
C. M.
I used to love Hamleys because there was always something going on. This time I was just so disappointed. I also think they should have more activities on for different ages and more play areas to test toys. The lil areas they do have, the toys are black, dirty and grimy. They need to clean and sanitize these things on a daily basis.
Went up to the cafe area and it looked closed and there was just nothing going on but a lil staff meeting. Not much staff around to help with anything other than a group talking about... not sure and another group talking to staff about stocks and what not. I stood there looking at each of them to see if they would ask if I needed anything but it was like I was invisible. Which is hard as I had my baby and buggy there.
Prices in there as well is nearly double what you can get elsewhere.
Next time I visit there would be when my son is older and we test the toys out then order some where else.
m. m.
Had an amazing 1st visit, my daughter was very lucky to get picked to take part in the hamleys parade, wow what an experience. A big shout out to Piper who was absolutely fantastic with her, what a great entertainment team.
S. M.
Excellent toy store, hats off to all the staff who are dedicated to their toy demonstrations, they're all friendly and approachable, set out over 6 floors, every toy/brand you could imagine, there are toilets on the 5th floor which are always handy, prices were as expected. Would recommend a trip round here just for the experience.
A. B.
One of the best seen toy stores! Don't come with children - either you will leave with tears or empty pockets! :)
N. S.
Great shop for toys. Almost a century old shop with great heritage and abundance floor space
V. R. &. S. C.
Really good but doesn’t have the magical feeling it used to when we were younger. Must be our age! Still worth a visit and the kids love it
O.
Hamleys will always get 5* rating.
W. N.
We took the kids to see the famous Hamleys and they couldn't believe how many floors there were. Even though the old Toys R US stores are bigger in size but alas Geoffrey didn't make it.
When we go back in December, we're going back as the atmosphere changes and Hamleys do go to town for Christmas! Highly recommended! :)
C. D.
Very busy toy shop. I give it 4 stars as I don't do well with crowds but my son would give it a million starts
P. G.
Very busy. Only one lift working the day we there. Lot of variety of toys
M.
It's a lovely place, little ones loved it but I thought toys weren't very good quality. Shop wasn't in that great condition.
However staff are amazing!!!!They make the shop special!!!
w.
We had time to spare so we popped in...
Seeing it was a store within a station, the size wasn't bad, they had a few selections of things we decided to purchase.
The style was like any other Hamleys.
The staff were nice.
All in all, perfectly nice experience.
R. “. I.
Greatest toy store in the world. Except for the mistake they made on our bill, still not resolved but i live in hope that they will contact me.
M. H.
The most amazing Toy Store I have ever stepped foot in! The staff here are incredible, we visited at Christmas and they were all dressed up as elves and they even had a song and dance display outside the front of the store for the children. As you go through each level of the 7 floor store you have staff on every floor displaying the toys on offer and interacting with the children, this just makes it a very fun experience. The only thing to be very careful of here is the pricing! We found the majority of toys are more expensive here than elsewhere and some were even twice the price they should be! Shop smart and be careful not to get caught out! I'm looking forward to going back for Christmas 2019!
B. L.
Toy heaven for kids. Way too busy for stressed adults and people worried about Covid transmission
Z. A.
A lovely place for kids of all ages to visit but some of the fun was taken away due to slow lift service and mums with pushchairs have to wait long time ..
J. P.
Extremely quiet, an excellent time to browse. A huge range of toys for all ages 0-99. Lots of displays, fun to take children.
T. H.
I've been to Hamley's quite a few times when they have a special floor and this time was no different after I saw they had a new Harry Potter floor.
The staff are always friendly and helpful, eager to demonstrate all the toys. They have a large selection of everything toy related but they definitely aren't cheap.
D. V.
Fantastic great service and so many toys. If this doesn't bring out your childhood memories nothing will. It's a must for all passing by.
Great place for presents and spend some time
a. s.
bubbles and happy songs come out from this shop lead me 🤣 did't intend to browse inside but when i came to my senses, i had two little cute paddington bear on my hand 🐻
F. T.
There is very good places for kids variety toys and books etc...
D. V.
Greatest and incredible toy store. Ever! Went there when I was a young kid, now with my own kids. Always a joy.
B. M.
Not only my daughter loved this store, the adults did too.....so many floors. All the staff were fun and friendly. We really enjoyed the displays on every floor
J. S.
The biggest and best you shop in the world. Just don't expect to walk out with any money left in the bank...
R. S.
Love this place, however today it was super hot! My advice, plan what you want and dont spend too long wandering around.
The bonus however is that there are toilets on the 5th floor that weren't busy (no queue 😲)
C. K.
Wonderful shop, staff were demonstrating the toys and really engaging with the kids
N.
Hamlets is every kids dream. Set over many floors with lots of staff entertaining the kids using the toys they want to promote, and also they have sections where kids can get nail art and there hair done. You can't really leave without buying anything but it is very over priced compared to normal toy shops
T. H.
Its a lovely place for the kids to see some of the toys being demonstrated by the staff who are wonderful. The reason why I give it 3 stars is because the toys are so overpriced and are readily available online and in other retailers for less. Maybe in slightly different packaging but literally the same toy reboxed and rebranded. My major gripe was the state of the toilets !!they are on the top floor and were filthy. I would have thought such a prestigious toy company would pride itself on hygiene.
N. H.
Who can't love hamleys? Amazing toy store, plenty going on and every floor has something different, you can't walk in and NOT find something you want to walk out with. Lifts and toilets inside.
A. E. A.
Big big big toys shop. Many many options and stand up shows inside. The prices are more than average but you can’t find that much different choices anywhere. Don’t go there with your children, you can’t stop them.
m. W.
What can I say. A dream for kids and he'll for the adults. Lovely little cafe and shake area at the top of Hamleys. Worth knowing the gaming section has been replaced with star wars zone so our 12 year old was dissapointed but still had fun looking. Lots of people showing you how to use the Hamlets own brand toys. Go for the experience but expect to pay at least 30-90% more for the toys.
M. G.
Hamleys was very busy and a happy place to be. My daughter saw this shop when we drove past. We parked up and saw some dancers in the front of the shop. The toys were seen all over the place. Greatful and happy we have such a great place to shop.
B. d. B.
It is an amazing place to visit. Don't mind if you are not a kid or you haven't got children. Your kid soul turn out again there. You can play games it is like a toy world. It is fantastic
S. M. K.
Great place for buy toys. Children love it
P. A.
Out of all the places we visited in London, this was hands down the most fun for the kids. Why pay lots of money to go into the big attractions when you can easily spend an hour looking round this wonderful store. Staff members were crazy, fun and so good with the kids. Made some great memories
J. N.
Big, well-staffed, and clean toy store. The prices are pretty steep, but you do a get a well curated experience kids will love (if you can fend off the requests and walkout of there without another mortgage).
M. B.
Best toy store I have ever been in. The kids enjoyed every minute of exploring all the toys. The demonstrations by the employes were very neat. I am glad we took the time on our vacation to check it out, it really was fun and the kids found a few new toys.
D. C.
What can I say, wow! What a toy store! Old with new; tech with classic. Floors and floors of toys & games. Lovely staff and something for everyone (young and old).
M. D.
Extremely crowded on weekends. You can fill up a jar of odd end Lego blocks for 10 bucks
D. Q.
The best toy store in the world? When I was young, I lived in London and remember the magic of Hamley's. Everytime I return I remember the magic, and the staff are eager, helpful and knowledgeable about their respective areas.
B. E.
Quite simply the best and happiest store in London.
Y.
So much toys in the one building. Such an fun shop to visit.
M. E.
Kids heaven - possibly even for kids of all ages to be honest! Well laid out into various zones making stuff easy to find plus lots of other things to see too (not just stuff to buy - eg Harry Potter characters made with Lego etc)
C. H.
Massive toy store with a lot of options, definitely some sections for older fans of series such as Lord of the rings and Harry Potter. It was a hot day and unfortunately there was no air con. Otherwise a great store to visit
G. D.
My 4 year old has never been before. She was amazed by the amount of toys. Spent too much money. 🤣
F. M.
Best toy store I've ever been to in my life
R. M.
6 floors of toys 🧸 that’s it. That’s the review.
s. d.
Well I was completely blown away by this shop about 6 floors of magic. The demonstration given by The staff are great and the choice and how well it's laid out made it hard to leave. Although Friday afternoon it was packed as to be expected . Not to be missed.
A. G.
Love this store! Huge rage of toys, great people working there and a lot of happines for kids and adults.
D. E.
Always good to come. Very enjoyable also for adults.
A. C.
A all in one place for anything toys. Lots of choices for any age, prices are high street prices. Usually very packed as it is so well known worldwide that it is becoming a tourist attraction for London. Conveniently located and easy access from Piccadilly. Staff are generally helpful even during busy period like holiday seasons.
d. b.
Amazing. We really loved it. Spent around 2 hours inside.
A. M. A.
Many floors full of toys. Not many options for 10+ kids.
J. M.
This place was so disappointing. Was enchanting for my youngest (3),but my older 2 (7 and 9) weren't that impressed. Not as big as I was expecting and probably a better selection of toys in smyths.
C. F. W.
Amazing toy story with multiple levels. So much fun and the displays are amazing. Always super busy and not great for strollers as it’s crowded inside. The Harry Potter section could be way cooler, but the Star Wars area below ground level makes up for it. Definitely can find things here you can’t find anywhere else.
C. W.
Great atmosphere, kids loved running around and seeing all the different toys available. Staff are good fun and interact well with all the kids running around like crazy. Downside is that everything is marked up at a special Hamley price 😂 expect to pay 10-20% more for the same product from Argos or somewhere similar.
T.
Brilliantly big toy shop my kids loved it
