Reviews of N4 Library
T. D.
All round terrific staff, helpful, kind , considerate etc etc though limited selection of books led me to Central Library where many of the staff (not all) are the complete opposite though great selection of books!
N4 library all day long - who needs books!

Very Peaceful atmosphere and friendly people for support

Experienced friendly staff...great resources to use at the library from books, newspapers/magazines, to DVD and PC access. Quiet learning space available, with drinking water fascilities, aswell as disability access friendly space and great singing and storytelling for young children. The only complaint I must add is sometimes the library gets a little bit too busy; and you can feel overcrowded at the PCs- as there's not much space inbetween pods for usage. Best kept Library in N5!

This is a brilliant library with a wide range of fiction and non-fiction. They have DVDs and CDs. They also have a loyalty card so if you visit 5 times and get 5 stamps, you can rent a CD or DVD for free :)
They have the full catalogue of Haruki Murakami, John Wyndham and Ian McEwan, three of my favourite authors.
Self service available for checkouts and returns but staff are on hand at the desk if you need help.

Lovely and well stocked (especially with kids books) local library. Have been going for years, there are fab baby and toddler activities in a week. Super friendly staff that always recognise you and chat to you when you come in

A pretty good public library. A good collection and gets reserved books fairly quickly. The opening hours could be better, it would be good for it to be open later more evenings in the week for people with 9-5 jobs to pick up books.

A decent enough library for the mainstream pulp you might expect to find on the top sellers list in WH Smith or Waterstones but, certainly for me, it's missing a fair amount of the books I tend to read.
If you're a fantasy reader then this place isn't really one to pop into but, once you're a member, you are able to order books from the other Islington libraries and they are quite speedy about getting them delivered to N4. They will even send an email to tell you your book has arrived which I appreciated.
They have a selection of DVDs and music for you to borrow as well as a reasonable selection of graphic novels and comic books.
The staff are very friendly and helpful if you have a query. I have requested for them to introduce an email reminder system for books which are about to become overdue though, providing you are good with dates or use your calendar, you can renew your books online very easily.
This library has served me well in the two years I've spent in FP so make sure you go have a look and get signed up.

Authors discovered in this library: Ishiguro, Norwegian Wood which was the first Murakami I read, Kundera and Memory of water by Itaranta. I quite like the psychology section (which is actually more like a collection of books on success and self-improvement). Got a lot of work done in here too.

Not bad. The movie's catalogues is poor and small. The rest is not really bad. The staff are nice without any outstanding.

The staff is friendly, and there are spaces for reading and using laptops or computers. Books are various!

The best library in London. They will try their hardest to get stuff they don't have. And the staff are lovely too!
