Reviews of Dormouse Bookshop

Had a very pleasant time looking at some of the books on display. Owner is very patient and kind and he knew so much about the books. Gave me so much info on some of the books on display and we had a great chat about a number of things. …

I discovered this on the off chance and it’s a wonderful little store! Despite being small it had such a great collection of books and the owner was very helpful and knew his books so well! I will definitely be going back every time I come to Norwich now

Finally (due to the lockdown) getting time to write a review of this wonderful little shop. Phil at the Dormouse is on top of his game, friendly and informed. He will gladly try to get titles for you if he doesn't have them in stock...but you would be surprised what a wealth of books are contained in this small shop! Packed to the gunwales with fascinating material!

The quintessential secondhand bookshop. Crowded shelves of brilliant books and the bookseller was knowledgeable on everything I picked out, considering the range very impressive! Can definitely recommend a visit, I will certainly be coming back.

What a lovely find! One of those old bookshops with a lovely owner who was very knowledgeable. Got a good price for my books and learnt a lot too. Will definitely be going back. Based on Elm Hill in Norwich one of the lovely cobbled streets, like stepping back in time.

Found this amazing little book shop through Instagram, Phil was so helpful and reserved the book i wanted for me to collect. Such a vast selection of books in his shop! Would highly recommend! I will definitely be visiting again.

I always visit the Dormouse Bookshop when In Norwich. The owner knows his stock so it is merely a matter me asking about about a particular author or genre. I like that. He knows the book business and I invariably learn something from him about trends in reading and matters relating to the book trade. He is happy to suggest "other authors" . The shop has an amazingly large and varied selection for its size. I reckon his stock is particularly strong on "School Stories" (Angela Brazil, etc.). Price-wise, he doesn't over-charge for what he's selling. He is apologetic about some of his prices for rarer items but they still represent good value.

This is one of my favourite bookshops in Norwich, the owner is really friendly. Knows his stock really well and as a repeat customer he remembers what type of thing you collect. Have some great book based chat too!

A very good second-hand bookshop in a lovely building. The selection of books (fiction and non-fiction) available is well-chosen and varied, and the prices very reasonable. The selection of Penguin paperbacks is particularly impressive.
Small tip: sci-fi and fantasy books are sent next door to the Games Room, and the selection is again very good, though disorganised.

Brilliant book shop in Elm Hill with a huge variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction and all sorts of topics. A friendly, helpful owner and fantastic stock, you are bound to find something that appeals.
