I just visited the website of Hawthorne Farm Kennels to see if they are open, following lockdown and having read some of the reviews, decided to leave my own, from much experience of them. Over a seven year period I have trusted them with my much loved Kerry Blue Terrier and wouldn’t now leave him with any other kennel. I deal with both Richard and Julie and their knowledge and care for my dog has been exemplary. This is a family run business, each member of which cares about each and every pet they take into their charge. It appears to have been a long standing business developed from grass roots care of animals generally, not for example, a retired family wondering how they can make some extra cash from their newly acquired land up here. Each and every person I have dealt with at the kennels has nothing but best welfare for my pet in mind. It’s the only kennel where my dog has been chomping at the bit to get out of my car to meet the owners. I would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely people. Always welcoming. Our two large and enthusiastic dogs really enjoy their time at the kennels. They can't wait to get out of the car on arrival. Really happy with the care they receive. When we have a wash and groom, they look amazing.

Great! Our pets have been welcomed, and dare I say it, loved by all at Hawthorn Farm. I am reassured that they are looked after well and I am able to see exactly where they are staying. I have also benefited hugely from my chats with Richard when I collect; with guidance on training our dog to helping find a "cure" for a child's illness. My only issue is that one pays for a full day whether you pick your animal up at 9 in the morning or 5 in the evening and that seems odd to me.

Excellent service from the owner and staff - this is a first class boarding kennel. We left our puppy (Lhasa Apso) at Hawthorn for a short stay over a long weekend. And I can only say that the service and care was above expectations. Our puppy seemed to have a great time. We are now looking at taking her back for grooming.

My 12 year old dog has had to go to various kennels over the years. Today when I collected him he was the calmest and happiest I have ever seen him when picking him up after a day of doggie daycare. Very impressed by the tour I was given when I called in unexpectedly. They've been doing this over 25 years and it shows. Such a calm and professional (yet friendly) service. Highly recommended.

Our three leonbergers and Scruff ( honorary Leonberger) are regular visitors, Richard and Julie are amazing, so good with the dogs, genuine and caring, we wouldn't even think about going anywhere else! Our dogs love going, they are so well cared for, I never worry about them while we are away. They also go for regular grooming, Julie does an amazing job. Thank you Hawthorn Farm

This is the first time my 18month old Cockapoo Alfie has experienced kennels. He stayed for two weeks. I would just like to say a big thank you to all at Hawthorn Farm for making Alfies stay very comfortable. I collected him today. He has also had a grooming session and looks fab. With regards to Megan Harmer’s comment. Miss Harmer booked her cat to come in last Saturday then did not turn up. She then turned up on Sunday when we are closed, miss Harmer then tried to phone us but due to us being in the field exercising dogs we did not hear the phone. When we realised we had missed a call we phone the number back and was treated to a tirade of abuse from Miss Harmer. It is difficult to explain to a person that they had made a mistake in their booking, when they won’t allow you to speak and puts the phone down on you.

Really caring family business where my husky is happy to stay! They take really good care of the animals and ensure their safety and comfort. Recommended to me by a friend with a cat who adores them.

With regard to nixx eaves comments. It would have been better (if such a person exists)had they spoken to us, if they had any real concerns. As it look more like a carefully constructed comment created by a competitor to cause upset. It is truly sad to think people will sink to such low under handed behaviour. If you were a genuine person we would have invited you to come and visit us as we invite all our customers.

We've used this 'dog hotel' for over two years now, even though we've moved to North Norfolk we still continue to use it as our dog seems to enjoy it and comes out as happy and healthy as he went in!
