Reviews of Waterstones Oxford Branch

A wide selection of books from all areas of interest, helpful staff and a friendly atmosphere. The cafe on top floor is a nice addition. I didn't leave empty-handed.

Really great selection of books of every type imaginable.Great cafe, very comfortable with very nice coffee.Nice range of stationery.Great place to browse and buy.
Customer toilet is up many stairs and was not in working order.Given the size of the store and that it has a cafe ,it needs two toilets and they need to be open.

If you love as much as you can to avoid online shopping then do come to Waterstones for all of your book reading pleasures. A fascinating store on more than one level and with various areas like mini caves for searching out for your read of the moment !! Keep shops open !!

By far one of the largest best bookshops that I have ever visited. Extremely large and in the heart of Oxford'a city centre. A stunning array of books can be found across its various floors, with the interiors providing a comforting atmosphere to take a book and have a quick read. Worth visiting in Oxford if you love to find a good book.

Amazing library. The sections are well organized and is easy to find the book you are searching for. The personal are very helpful and kind. Is so good to find this mesmerizing book's house in the classic Oxfor
Highly recommended.

The Cafe on top is a bonus. Don't expect stellar 'food' though. A great place to sink into one of the single chairs or a window ledge to read a book, peer through the windows, or think. Also a place to meet friends for a convivial conversation or discussion. The seating in the Cafe allows for single use, double and larger group use.
In terms of the bookstore itself: the 'African' section is limited and indicative of a limited understanding of what is on offer from the African continent and its diasporic communities. Focus is predominantly British and European. There is a children's section downstairs - again limited in geographic and therefore mythic and narrative scope. But at least it provides a selection across ages.

Love the variety of books. I always spend hours every time I come here. 💕

Fantastic place with great collection of books. They have got an entire section on J R R Tolkien. Great collection of books on wildlife too. The staff are very helpful. There is a cafe as well. Loved the place.

3 stars only is for beautiful staff they have. Some customers are nice, some of them not.
I was harassed by very old men in that place than I was on the street.
I am a young woman fully covered with decent oversized clothes and size 8. It is very disturbing they do not harrass someone who wear revealing clothing and has a curvy figure. I think they target me because they see me sitting alone. It make you reluctant to go to that cafe even though they have nice staff and good food and coffee.
Media constantly report on this sort of behavior. Uk has become like 3 world country.
