My first time there today, i must say the staff were excellent and very helpful. A very well stocked shop to, I will definitely be using this angling shop as my go to shop.

Great selection of gear from a wide range of prices. staff are so helpful and spent an hour teaching me all I needed to know about sea fishing which I hadn't done before. Great place and I would highly recommend visiting if looking for gear or advice.

Pretty sure this was a barber shop when I was a kid in the early sixties. Maybe fishing was a sideline. Peter Sellers allegedly had a trim there when he was making Only Two Can Play. I can remember sitting on a board across the arm rails so I was high enough to get my 'short back and sides'.

Great place for beginner fishermen. Turned up with my grandpa's rods from the 1960s, and the staff were v helpful in settin it all up and explaining. They have a great selection of gear too.

My partner and I were looking for a new hobby, something that we could enjoy together. We decided to give fishing a try and came to mainwarings. The staff were so incredibly helpful and took the time to explain how to use the rods that they recommended and which bait to use. They showed us how to tie the knots and suggested some local places for us to try. We had a problem with one of the rods as it was very difficult to assemble and disassemble. We took it back and they were very quick to solve the problem. We will be using them a lot in the future

I've been going here since I recently resumed sea fishing after years away. Faultless service, friendly staff always and great local knowledge they are keen to share. I have been to Angling shops in Cardiff , Barry and another in the Swansea area; ok but none compare to Mainwarings!

Mainwarings is my local tackle shop. The staff are all fishermen. They know the products and what to use where and when. I went fishing on the Gower today and popped in the shop to ask why the place I fished was so different from 4 weeks ago. They expanded and about the tide and the swell and wind which made sense. The knowledge they have about the area is 2nd to none and nothing is to much trouble.

I went in a few weeks back with no cash. I was browsing for a rod/ reel for LRF. I dont know the assistants name but he spent probably 15- 20 mins showing me rods and reels, explaining technique and info on marks etc despite knowing he couldn't make a sale that day. I returned a couple of days later and bought a rod and reel that he had let me handle. His enthusiasm was infectious and the info he gave me was excellent. He really knew his stuff. I would give this place 5* but there was refitting going on and I could only see some of the shop due to space available. Definitely one of the best tackle shops that I have used.
