Martyn recently recovered my dining room chairs . His workmanship is second to none . He is a very skilled craftsman ,is passionate about his work and always gives what the customer wants . His prices are fair and he gives an excellent service . He is a dying breed . I also purchased some garden furniture …. Something different from mainstream fashion. Would highly recommend him. And he always makes me 😂

I took my child's chair to Martin in a bit of a sorry state. He has restored it to its former glory in an expert way. He explained every stage and used original methods to bring it back to life. This is a family piece and has sentimental value to me so I was delighted to find someone I could trust. Martin really knows his stuff and his shop is fascinating.

I have bought an excellent desk from this shop and, more recently, they restored an Edwardian Mahogany Display Cabinet. Martyn did a wonderful job in restoring the cabinet including new fabric at the back and on the shelves and took great trouble to select the right fabric. He collected and returned the cabinet from my house in Worthing. I highly recommend him.

This is my number one antique shop in Worthing. The owner is soo knowledgeable about antiques , his prices a very reasonable, he is friendly and will take his time to understand what you need. He does restoration projects as well. I have personally bought 7 furniture pieces from him and now I am now asking him to restore my dining chairs. In short this is the best place to visit if you love antiques and you are in Worthing.

Martyn has done several jobs/restorations for us before, so when a dining table collapsed just before Christmas, we rang him. He repaired our table beautifully, came round to reassemble it, all very reasonably. We would have no hesitation in using him again or recommending him. Please hear our comments & satisfaction with the work undertaken by Martyn the craftsman at DOVETAIL over the last few years. Most recent project was the re- upholstery, repair& complete restoration of a 4 legged mahogany Edwardian armchair with upholstered seat & shoulder rest repaired, restored & polished to original mahogany finish. Seat & shoulder section covered in dark green velvet fabric secured with antique brass tacks. Formerly unusable but now restored to its former glory & used daily. This is the latest of several restoration projects including 1930’s long case clock. Edwardian hinged top mahogany desk & mahogany silver cutlery canteen, completed by Dove tail to our complete satisfaction Mr & Mrs Robinson at Lancing

Wonderful shop. Dog and people friendly. There is nothing that Martin can't fix. Plus if you want something that little bit unusual, this is the place. And you get a story to go with every item.
