I was so excited to visit the store but when I entered the shop was dead quiet no background music and just me my wife and one staff member behind the till. He was friendly enough but very quiet and not overly welcoming. The shop holds alot of viking merchandise but seemed to be lacking a viking vibe. Hard to explain. Go to valhalla bar then return to asguard shop and you'll know what I mean.

Visited here to pick up some trinkets, the store has quite a bit of things in stock which is great. I did find the atmosphere quite bad though don't get me wrong the chap was friendly but the shop itself was very quiet.

Really friendly, knowledgeable staff. Lots of choice. I've read some other reviews which said they didn't have much in the shop. the guy in there said they opened a few weeks before the lockdown, so maybe they had shipping problems? It was full of stuff when we went. They make the jewelry and coins for vikings and provide a lot to the Jorvik centre. I got a bone nålebinding needle.

I love everything and anything Viking. As a Swede I can feel my roots every time I go to York. I came a cross a leaflet in another store about Asgard shop. It took some time to find the shop as it was no signs other than my satnav in my phone.. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the shop. It was more like a sweet factory that has only 1 piece of chocolate... I would have thought they'd have more ornament, clothes, fashion stuff that was typical for the vikings, like brooches and such likes. I over heard the shop staff talking to some other shoppers and he explained that the bracelets on a shelf was in actual fact Asgard who provided the actors in the series Vikings.... well if that was the case I would have a big sign outside the shop, or at least something inside the shop stating this. But i saw nothing like it. As I said at the top, I love everything viking and maybe Asgard is in its early stages and more stick is on the way... all I can say is that I hope your shop will succeed and flourish

I was gifted a beautiful pendant from Asgard for my birthday last month and its absolutely gorgeous, beautiful design and wonderful craftsmanship! I wear it almost every day, definitely one of my favourite jewellery piece, I'll definitely be purchasing more pieces from them in the future!!

I highly recommend this shop they offer great quality in the products they sale. The people running the shop are wonderful along with being extremely knowledgeable with the history of Viking age. The metal working artist recreates actual histioric peices found/discovered giving anyone who goes there a true representation of the arts and designs.

You can say they try?? Most items especially jewelry looks Chinese made, and is pewter or aluminum. The shirts looked and felt ok and also the hnefatafl and other games. But really not much quality and no good selection overall. Drive to Glastonbury if you can and shop at Shieldmaiden. Now that is an excellent Norse shop.

Has everything a Viking desires and more ! A must in York for anyone - well worth a visit. My handmade pendant even told me who it was cast by and finished by- love it sooo much. Can't wait to buy an arm torc next!
