If there is one shop to visit in York, its Born of Botanics. Such lovely unusual items for sale, beautifully smelling candles, one of those little boutique shops selling unusual things you won't get anywhere else. I've bought in store as well as online and it's been such a pleasant experience. Can't wait till January when I visit York again! This shop will be one of my first ports of call. Thank you!!!

Me and my partner visit York pretty often as our friend lives there, we came across the shop and popped in to have a look. The staff members (unfortunately I didn’t catch their names) were nothing but welcoming and friendly and we spent at least a good 20 minutes in the shop talking and asking questions about the candles. I absolutely fell in LOVE with the “sleep” candle and while me and our friend were looking upstairs my partner went downstairs and bought it for me, the lady who served him also tried to be very sneaky as to not spoil the surprise (for the record I didn’t notice so well done 🤣) As soon as we’ve come home to St Helens this evening it’s been lit and I’m extremely relaxed after lots of driving round we’ve had to do over the last few days and it smells absolutely wonderful. Will be coming back again for more on our next visit, extremely deserving of 5 stars!! 🥰🥰

Today I had a lovely little visit to The Little Yorkshire Candle Company’s shop. Leonie was super lovely and helped me choose a scent for today and ones for future orders. I felt completely safe and welcomed. I’d heartily recommend a visit, it’s such a pretty shop in a really beautifully quirky old building.

Some mornings I go to the park to exercise. Some mornings I sit and meditate. Some mornings I write in my journal to clear my head and plan my day. This morning, I did all three and I lit my new candle from The Little yorkshire Candle Company I’ve gotta say…I’m not really a scented candle kind of person. I often find the scents overpowering or unnatural in their intensity but I’m totally sold on this little baby 👶😊 The fragrance is subtle, pleasant and gently influences your mood. My candle is called Serenity. My morning routine usually leaves me feeling energised and calm but today I feel a deeper level of stillness. I’m very pleased with the candle, it's beautifully designed and is subtly delicious. A worthwhile investment 👍

Full disclosure - I'm related to a staff member but this is a genuine review. I bought a "Sleep" diffuser to help us, yes you guessed it, sleep! The scent from this diffuser is amazing, my room was filled with scent without it being overwhelming. It certainly helped us relax and drift off to the land of nod. The shop is amazing and I'm looking forward to visiting again and treating my home to some more lovely scents.

I’m so happy I stumbled upon this beautiful little candle and trinket shop! I am not one to buy scented candles. Synthetic scents make my head hurt, so I was happy to discover that only essential oils and natural extracts are used in making these candles. She also uses clean burning wax. The owner is lovely as well. She took her time explaining all of the different scents and helping us smell them through our masks via a spray version. Not to be missed if you are in York!

What absolutely brilliant service from The Little Yorkshire Candle Company. After seeing the perfect Christmas present on their dreamy Instagram account I ordered and my carefully packaged parcel arrived with me so quickly! I can't post a pic of my choice as it's for a Christmas pressie but I'll be back to their website soon and am looking forward to my next visit to York so I can treat myself in the shop! Beautiful little shop and smells divine. Friendly owner who is happy for you to take as much time as you need to make a decision on which of the amazing candles to buy. I'd purchased online before so knew the candles were top quality but so is Alex (the owner). Don't just wander on by, go in and you'll be glad you did.
