Lovely place for crafty people. You will definitely find what you need. There are lots of craft work displayed around the show from which you can take the inspiration from. This is one such work I did.

Plenty of choice loads of different supplies for pretty much every craft/hobby. Its definitely on the pricey side and had to queue for quite a while as only one cashier was in the till despite a few staff hovering and quite a large queue.

There aren't many places to buy art materials in York only Hobbycraft, quite a large amount, The Range, also have a large amount, WH Smith have a very small amount, Rymans have a very small amount and The Works do make shift art materials which are seriously bad quality, okay for none serious artists, I have actually bought a very large canvas from The Works, just for the frame, I took the cheap canvas off and stretched some fine linen on to it.

It's a Hobbycraft! The aisles are a little on the narrow side, so it's often easier to wait one aisle over if someone is stood in front of the product you're looking for (especially given covid). They have a hand sanitizer station right by the front door, and very good barriers at the checkout area, protecting not just the cashiers, but the customers from each other. They've had a re-organise sometime in the last 8 months or so, so the paints and art supplies are now on the ground floor, where the cake decorating supplies used to be, and the section upstairs where the paints used to be is now papercraft. Service is good, and it wasn't too crowded even on a Saturday afternoon, so we were able to run in, grab what we needed and get out relatively quickly.

This hobby craft is a good size and there is lots of choice. It doesn't matter if you're looking for a present for someone, an ingredient for your baking or a specific tool for model making. They had exactly what I needed and the staff were really helpful, nice and friendly.

A bit disappointed on this visit as it seems that they do not stock as many models as last year. I only visit once a year in December as this is our yearly visit to York. Having said this the store had plenty of stock of everything do. The checkout was fast and friendly. I will go back again as it is well stocked but on models less than I had expected. Worth a visit for hobbyists.

This is a great crafty shop and has lots of product choice. I mainly use Hobbycraft for the sewing supplies section upstairs, there's always a member of staff around to help you with cutting fabrics or giving you advice about where you might find a product that they don't stock. A member of the team even offered me some fantastic advice about how to stop the feed dogs on my sewing machine from catching my fabric when I start a line of stitches. It is a little bit expensive though.

I love this shop as I love doing artwork drawing and painting with watercolors and decent colouring pencils. I use Faber-Castell multi type pack neon&metallica, normal style was decent price but worth it for quality work can mix blend colours together to and derwent have a fantastic range too, but they do low budget quality products and plus bargains and a points cards if you shop ther often which I do. In york its at monks Cross quite big 2 floors and as a lift and ♿ friendly very helpful staff if you need any more help.

I hate to criticise any brings and mortar shop which continues to sell models and modelling supplies, but it seems every timeI visit this section is shrinking. Spotty selection of Tamiya paints, as well. They would get more custom if they could source some bargains, as occasionally found in The Works, Home Bargains and the like. Full list price and a limited range won't make those kits fly off the shelves, imho.

Great place for picking up a wide range of art and craft supplies. Biggest downside for me is that their range of Copic markers is dwindling, and the don't stock them at all in sets. Their paper stocks could be a little wider too (I have to go to the wider internet for Strathmore paper). Thankfully, they do stock my favourite Faber Castel Polychromos pencils.
