Extremely confusing shop, it’s in a prime location with a massive interior. Probably the best Christmas shop I’ve ever been in, it has everything.

I loved this shop it was very festive! Felt like being in Germany in one of there traditional shops! Staff were lovely and helpful, I can imagine this shop being magical around winter time and the run up to Christmas 🎄 definitely come here for your decorations and Steins!!

This place is amazing, it is no were near Christmas but being in this store fills you with Christmas spirit, the shop is over 2 floors and their are like litte rooms where you are full of items that is more a show area there are millions of different things that will amaze anyone, be warned though there is so much amazing stuff you could spend all day their and spend a small fortune but all the stuff looks really good so for me it would be an investment, all the staff look like elfs and are so so friendly, well done to you all for running a world class place 😀

What a beautiful shop, a total de stress. The ambience transports you to a magical place- winter wonderland, when really you're in the historical city centre of bustling York. A unique shop in the UK, the other one I visited was in Germany. Highly recommended

This is now am ALL year round Christmas shop. It is spread out on 3 floors and houses absolutely thousands of baubles, sparkly bits and loads of handcrafted motion articles & cuckoo clocks. A fantastic shop with items priced from 50p to 5grand !! There's nearly nothing in here you can get from other shops. Have a visit, buy some bits and have a great day in York. Spectacular, spectacular.

From the minute you walk in the shop your eyes light up and you feel so happy the staff are lovely there's just everything for Christmas some beautiful handmade decorations from the outside the shop looks small when you go in the floor after floor it's a great place to take children to have a look around

Lots of German Weihnachtsdekoration at prices to suit all tastes and pockets. There's a one way route around the shop which has two floors, and masks must be worn. The shop is open all year long and not just seasonally, well worth a visit if you're in York.

Slightly put off by the woman on the door asking if I had a mask. I didn't because I don't wear them. Apart from that the store is gorgeous all beautifully decked out for Christmas. It's not cheap but it was lovely to find a few special gifts for family and friends

Must be one of the finest Christmas shops. In fantastic old timber frame building with crooked floors and low beams etc. All adds to the experience. Expensive. But well worth a look. Staff are superb too. Really interacted with my children, which they loved.

Domestic very nice baubles and other Xmas decorations, all way over priced but are nice! And they have some gorgeous coockoo clocks at Hugh prices I would have bought one if I had a few thousand pounds to spare? If the Xmas decor where around the standard prides then would by a five star rating for sure

Amazing Christmas shop. The detail of the many handmade decorations is superb. Prices range from a pound or two, to well over a thousand. Heard people have spent well over that amount in one visit!!!!! If you love Christmas you can't miss this. The staff are a delight too, helpful to the last with answering any questions or helping make your visit a worthwhile. I'll certainly call in again, hopefully sometime soon.

If you've been to any of the other stores across Europe, this one is very similar, which is a very good thing It's a series of rooms with some tight winding corridors or stairs (it may unfortunately be u suitable for some people particularly wheelchair users due to the age of the building), filled with everything Christmas that the other stores have Highly recommended. The best Christmas shop in the UK with no competition.

This shop is an absolute treasure trove of christmas decorations. However, it is not for the budget conscious. That said, you tend to get what you pay for and there is certainly a wide range for those with the means to shop here. I would definitely visit again next time I am in York.

Simply fantastic - and amazingly large selection of traditional wooden toys of all descriptions, with a strong empasis on traditional German figurines and Christmas decorations (whatever the time of year). A great place to have a look around as you feel like you're stepping back in time to a period when goods were handmade out of natural materials by skilled craftsmen rather than moulded in plastic and shipped from the Far East - indeed one half expects to encounter Pinocchio around a corner in here somewhere. Many of the items are clearly designed for those with deep pockets but there's something to suit most budgets and once you step through the door you'll find it difficult to come out without at least a slightly lighter purse or wallet. Simply magical and a treat for "children" of all ages!!

If you're a fan of Christmas this shop is a must see. The whole shop is a winter wonderland. The quality of the merchandise is way beyond what normally encounters on the high street, admittedly the prices do reflect this. However don't let this put you off. Also it's the only shop in the UK.

.Couldn't believe I was looking around a Christmas shop at the beginning of June but what an experience it was.The shop is wall to wall full of traditional Christmas gifts at competitive prices and served by friendly and helpful staff.I have never seen so much stock in a shop and what a magical experience that has to be seen to be believed.We will have to return near Christmas to experience the magic again.Well worth my 5* review in my opinion but don't just take my word for it call in and see for yourself.

We first found Kathe Wolfahrt in Austria and Germany. Believe me the friendly helpfull staff, Christmas decorations and the service are the same in York. York is the only place in the UK that has a this Christmas wonderland and if you love Christmas you'll love this.
