My best experience in York last week! Thank you Alex! Highly recommend to check out York Gin when you visit York. We had gin tasting with Alex and really enjoy it. Love all the flavours, even my pup loves it.

Cannot fault this shop at all! We spent two days in York with our dog and, after seeing York Gin's Instagram page, I knew they allowed dogs in the shop. We were greeted straight away and a lovely member of the team welcomed us and asked if she could pet our dog, which we obviously allowed and started a conversation about our trip. As we chatted away to her, we browsed over their lovely displays and she invited us to have a few samples, which we thought was a really nice touch. We enjoyed two or three tasters and they were all lovely! Another member of staff made her way over to give our dog some attention and joined in our conversation too. She asked if she could take his photo for their instagram page and, as we purchased a lovely gift set, the dog posed for a photo! All in all, our York Gin experience was amazing - the staff there, the gin itself and the shop are all 5*! The fact that they are super dog-friendly is just an added bonus! Will definitely be back when we return to York!

York Gin was by far my favourite store in York. The staff were unbelievable, didn't feel pressured in buying anything and were offered tastes of the gin. The quality of all the products is just so high. The gin is £39 for a 70cl bottle but it is 10000% worth the price!

Went for a quick look around the Gin shop and we are extremely glad we did. A lady approached us and offered us some samples of the gin they have, you could either have it neat, with tonic water or lemonade. The staff were all knowledgeable of the gins they were selling and very nice. We were giving 2 samples of the gin after agreeing for them to take some photos for advertising and my partner brought himself a big bottle.

Highly recommended. Great shop with great service. You can get free samples by the way to taste. Very helpful staff. Lovely quaint shop very close to the Shambles. Prices are not cheap though at £40 but a very good present / souvenir for your trip to York. My favourite was Old Tom having sampled a few of the others.

We went to York on June 1st for my husband's birthday. We stumbled across the shop, and, I am so glad we did. Not only is the store beautifully set out and eye catching, the ladies (and their tiaras) went above and beyond for every customer on a very busy day! I have yet to try my gin because I know I will want to drive three hours to have the experience again. We are planning a return after our Pagan handfasting later the October so I hope you have plenty of hampers available

We visited the lovely York Gin shop today. Ben was our host, what a friendly & knowledgeable guy he is - we left with 2 bottles! Definitely be calling in again, the next time we're York way! Highly recommend.

Went into the shop and it seemed a little busy whilst a group had tastings and others coming in, came back in later. The second time coming back really wanting a tasting I saw one group getting a tasting so waited a little bit then noticed 2 other sets of customers be approached by another worker and myself actively ignored. The gin was nice and bought the trio pack. Only reason I wouldn’t give 5 is because I felt a little dismissed.

My partner and I are big Gin drinkers but have never had the chance to sample 'York Gin' despite him being a Yorkshire man - until recently. We entered the store with great excitement and was in awe of all the amazing products on display and the overall presentation of this store. After a short browse, Niki greeted us with a smile (a smile that always reminds me why York is the best city in the country). Niki made us feel welcome and at ease, as we tried to navigate the plethora of profiles available. We sampled many gins, with a careful explanation of the flavour profiles and what tonics to pair from our host. We decided to purchase as couple of gins and was upsold to buy some glasses too (a must have upsell). During this transaction we were also told about the events and tap room. York Gins offer an amazing experience, friendly service, and superb gin. What's not to like!

Friendly staff that have time to talk about the gin brewing process and their approach. Tasters are available if you like as well. Interesting flavours including using Hibiscus and Earl Grey. Prices reasonable for craft gin as well.

Lovely surprise stumbling across this shop after an amble down the shambles. Firstly it’s in a stunning building - worth a photo stop in its own right. The ladies working in their were very knowledgeable & friendly, enabling us to have a couple of cheeky tasters before buying our favourites. Their gins are award winning for a reason - they’re bloody nice!!

We did a gin tasting yesterday. it was fantastic! We were greeted with a G&T and then given the story of York Gin by 2 really lovely ladies, I'm sorry I've forgotten your names!! They were both really passionate and Proud to be part of the York Gin "family". We then went onto the tasting!! All of the gins were very good but I liked the Outlaw best; it has a lovely heavy flavour of the Botanicals. A real shock for me was how lovely the Chocolate Orange Gin was, so lovely! looking forward to trying it in my Hot Chocolate and espresso martini!! We booked a gin tasting experience here whilst visiting York for my mums 60th and Evie was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable about the gin, York and the process. There was no question she couldnt answer and made our break extra special. You get greeted by a gin on arrival and then get to taste all the range with the matching fever tree tonic. Nothing was too much bother and I would recommend to anyone not only the gin but the tasting experience too. York Gin have some very loyal customers in us now.

Visited York for the day and stumbled upon this nifty little shop within a building that looks like it is about to collapse upon itself. Ridiculously large selection of Gin with an extremely knowledgable staff.

Gin is absolutely amazing, we brought 2 medium bottle one grey lady and the other old Tom. Each bottle contains 200ml at £15 per bottle it’s a very expensive gin (£75per 1000ml)! I think changing the bottle shape will help as there is more glass than gin. It’s a shame really because it’s one of the best I’ve had, but I’m out priced to buy more.

Visited York for the day and came across the York Gin shop. Naturally I sampled their wares and as I was on my way to Edinburgh to celebrate someone's birthday I purchased a bottle of their finest as a gift. Unfortunately I was mistakenly given a display bottle which was offered up 2 days later to much laughter. I called the shop and they dealt with the matter fantastically sending out a replacement on that day. The gin is super smooth and definitely premium much like the customer service. What amazing service from this lovely local company. I have ordered a couple of times over lockdown, as gifts for my daughter and they always delivered promptly with great customer service and a smile. Have just ordered a personalised bottle for a much loved colleague who is leaving. They managed to rush through the order, as their engraver was about to go on holiday and within 24 hours it was delivered to my home, by a lovey friendly driver. I would give 10 stars if I could for a company who went above and beyond to help.

Great service from this shop - both in person and delivery. The gin is delicious. The original gin is extremely drinkable and goes with any tonic. The Roman Fruit is deliciously sweet. The Old Tom has a lovely taste to it as well... Still working our way through the others! Would highly recommend.

Wow! After recently starting a little gin blog on Instagram i decided to just call in to York Gin while passing and I was not disappointed... I was greeted by a lovely member of staff who could clearly see my interest in the different Gins and took me straight to the Tasting table, her knowledge was captivating and I couldn’t help but delve into the samples which started a new blossoming relationship with a local and fabulous gin shop which is going to take the world by storm! I now have 3 different types which each came with a handy card which tells me the best items to mix with and garnish to really get the fullest flavour. I can honestly see how they’ve bagged a good taste award in 2019 with their Roman Fruit Gin! It’s whole experience has been a pleasure and I cannot wait to try what’s to come from this Local & amazing Gin Empire!

Popped in here during a city break in York Extremely friendly & knowledgable staff and a beautifully laid out shop. The staff really know their stuff and are happy to provide as many samples as you wish to try without pressure to buy. Worth a stop if you are a gin lover reasonably priced and some lovely gift ideas. Thanks Ladies wish you every success for the future.
