Reviews of Cityside Retail & Leisure Park
S.
Decent size shopping centre that seems to draw people in with the expectation of a great shopping experience, only for you to realise it's all big chain things and not much interesting.
D. B.
Can easily spend all day here. VR City, crazy golf, cinema, Ax throwing are all great family locations and funky monkeys is great for the little ones. Food and shopping options are good as well.
M. S.
The service in BM was excellent.
Friendly staff store was clean and well laid out. Shelves were stacked leaving it easy to lift items required.
K. T.
It was beautiful. They had a market on and the variety off stalls was amazing...
p.
Take the wife over here to do some clothing shopping outa sports direct.Inside cityside it has a buffet Chinese which is nice food cooked fresh work avisit for around £8 a head during the day if you go at night after 5pm I think it's 13.99 a head good spread of food to choosefrom.
A*****
D. J.
Great spot plenty of good shops with free parking and kfc just across the road.
R. D.
it's handy if you don't want to go into town but can take a minute to find a space sometimes
M. A.
Many stores in one place and entertainment for kids. One day is not enough to explore everything on offer!
G. B.
Great place with lots to do. Lot's of shops and inside is lovely and clean. Loved all the plants scattered about the place, bringing the outside in. Cinema is also great with lots of comfy seats.
P. M.
I got various stores and products in this area. If anyone is new at Belfast City, please visit this place for buying new stuff to get various ranges product.
J. G.
All the discount shops are here and a Tesco too ,Costa for a coffee. Had a good wander around and got some bargains. Only minutes from the city centre. Very good.👍
M. W.
Great selection of stores, clean and tidy, highly recommended.
Came here today for a bite to eat, burger king as expected, though I'm pretty sure my mother's chips were under portion, but she said it was still great.
T. u. G.
Amazing lonely staff! This is the cleanest soft play attack in Belfast! Cheap food and drink for the kids and they also have an interactive projector for the kids!
T. A. C.
Easy free parking good mix of shops, food and a great bar upstairs.
M. K.
I like this place. You want to re-charge your battery for next week. Go and enjoy
H. I.
Selection of retail shops, fast food outlets and cinema. There’s also some other leisure places crazy golf and axe throwing
G. B.
Needed a travel mug, got one. Added bonus got the van damaged in the car park
M. S.
Fantastic variety of shops and lots of parking. Eateries, cafes, pound shops, cinema, tesco, asda home to name but a few.
D. M.
A very pleasant experience at the lost city, mini golf ⛳️. The whole centre is open, bright, clean and welcoming. Only down side was a charge of 99p to withdraw cash. Went to the one outside Tesco's..no cost/free.
C. K.
Not a great deal avaliable within the shopping centre. Mainly a Burger King, Homebargins, Cinema, and minigolf. There other shops outside of the main building.
Parking is free which is a bonus and isnt normally to busy unless at peak times.
A. B.
Nice enough wee visit to the crazy golf with our son and nephews. The setting is well done with the animals, lights and sound effects.
I would recommend the "early bird" here. Otherwise I think it would be too dear for the length of time you spend there. Got a hole in one at the 18th, which gives me a free round of 18on your next visit. But my nephew kept it as a souvenir, so don't think I'll be back.
A. D.
Nice center but some shops have closed and a lot of kids hang about the place. Security need to watch kids more and escalators need to be fixed quicker
a. k. v.
Nice area with a lot of shopping options.Had a great experience
K. B.
Good variety of shops we stopped on the way to the ferry terminal but it was mainly closed due to a bank holiday
S. L.
It has lots of screens and good parking. Parts of the cinema have had a refurb and it does nice popcorn. But it's not that clean and the screen we were at still had popcorn on the floor from the previous showing.
G. M. o.
Great selection of shops and impressive Art Gallery plenty to do there. Stuff for the kids. Clean Public toilets always a bonus
E.
Convenient for north bound traffic for last minute stop, seldom has no car parking spaces.
C. C.
Brilliant place and security are always there at hand incase you need them
J. H.
Great place for everything. Shopping, entertainment, food
L. S.
Always looks busy but doesn't feel overcrowded & has great selection of shops
A. G.
Went to the cinema it was great.just wish they had less steps lol
A. B.
Really nice place to spend a few hours. Mini golf, Axe throwing, Cinema & a VR place as well. There is also some fast food places on site and a bar upstairs as well. Nice for a Friday night
S. h. s. j.
Good for shopping and cinema close to Belfast city centre
C. W.
Good leisure businesses like movies theatre, vr, mini golf, and axe throwing- but it desperately needs more food options
C. H.
Great seats even at the front in the cinema. Adventure golf is amazing. Replayed it many times. Home bargains is great for cheap snacks before movies. Axe throwing place looks fun though I've never been
d. m.
Crazy golf at Lost City , would highly recommend!!
K. T.
The cinema is a little old school, but clean and well run. Mini golf is excellent! And a few places to grab food for the family while you are there
S. M.
Shocked that they didn’t have any water slides here?
H.
Went here for, let's say, a pair of something. Service was not good, I saw one employee in the shop who glazed over when I asked about the product....
I bought the product for my wife but was more to do with 'my' knowledge of my requirement, certainly not from the shop.
The employee was helpful in other ways but product knowledge? sadly lacking... which says more about the employer.
T. D.
It's a big shopping centre with shops & free parking 🤷
P. H.
It's a retail park complete with people.. not very exciting
B. W.
Kids love it.....loads of food options....movies and VR city. Haven't thrown any axes yet.....but I will!!
C. M.
If ur looking bargin shops this is ur place, apart from cinema and golf not much here
R.
Decent place to take the kids for parties and films.
M. B.
Was here at lunchtime on a Friday, was busy but not unbearable. Good assortment of shops, good place to spend an hour or two.
H. T.
Hadn't been into city side in years, think it was actually called York Gate when I used to visit. Only went into burger King with the kids to be honest. But the Place was very quiet even out in the Mall. Years ago the place would have been buzzing from what I remember. Abit sad. Probably given all the circumstances that's been going on the past 18 months.
T. M.
It's got everything 1 stop shopping centre
P. S.
Plenty of shops, something for everyone
B. K.
Great place though small and little out of my way .
N. m.
Great cinema, lovely popcorn, friendly staff
B. C.
Excellent shops , especially home bargains
H. S.
Lots of parking spaces friendly assistants in sports direct got everything I needed
J. g.
Easy and free parking for the cinema cant complain
b.
Went for cinema. Bit annoyed they've went from 4 to 5.50 so 2 tickets are now 3 pounds more expensive. Shame as I used to go all the time.
B. R.
Let's face it, if you're here you are either about to see a movie or eat at Burger King.
Any other choice is an error. And that's not on the fine people of Cityside Retail Park... that's on you. Reevaluate your priorities, get a meal deal, and go see the best movie ever made, Highlander 2.
M. B.
Great place to watch a movie!
G. W.
Great selection of stores with the cinema and several other amusement opportunities with upto 5 hrs free parking make this a nice alternative shopping destination or a fun time out with friends.
J. M.
Love the bingo qnd shopping
G. M.
Good variety of shops and entertainment. Not great for food choices tho, and the centre itself is a bit rundown looking.
F. K.
A great selection of shops including a Tesco, ASDA home, B&M, Poundland to name only a few. Also a Tesco petrol station.
D. H.
We all enjoyed the crazy golf
G. M.
Can't wait for all the services to resume normal activities. This place has a lot going for it. Cinema, indoor crazy golf, ax throwing, fast food and shops all to help you part with your money
B. M.
Good shopping area. Home bargains one of my favourite stores Aways busy but parking is never an issue. Also a pound land and BM stores . All the big stores are there.
T. A.
Good parking space and variety of stores to visit.
S. R.
A lot of fun and a reasonable price for families. Really enjoyed it and would definitely go again
C. N.
So much shops, cinema, play are for kids, casino, axe throwing and much more, was surprised as it's such a great place for everything
A. S.
It was great, I found what I need and the prices it was good
R.
Great spot for shopping and entertainment
J. M.
This is quite a large shopping centre with a large car park and petrol station. Several of the shops are accessed from the car park while others and a selection of eating establishments are arranged around a two floor mall. There is also a large cinema with 14 screens, 5 of which feature comfortable and spacious VIP seating at no extra charge. In the evening the parking spaces nearest the cinema fill up first so a longer walk should to be allowed for.
L. M.
Security staff were brilliant smiling happy to help me get a wheelchair for my friend no pry at all ..
S. M.
Cityside is a great place to visit. Movie house is my favourite they've got 5 or 6 screens fitted with VIP seating and at NO EXTRA COST all I can say is WOW. Many shops for all ages, free car parking and a VR experience store which is just BRILLIANT (great for the kids). An axe throwing experience has recently opened lately haven't tried it yet but the mini golf is a firm favourite with my family, then in for something to eat.
L. W.
It's a bit rundown. Carpark can be crazy. Nice big asda home and big home bargains. B and m small. Area in front of home bargains has been busy during covid but managed well. Great cinema. Tesco next to it is very rough.
Few empty/closed shops now too
D. R.
Well hey there's lots to do and see around this sight.
I particularly liked going into ASDA for some items and then a carryout COSTA yummy.
If course there are other great stores / outlets which I hope to call back to
A. P. H.
Good retail center with lots of things to do.
T. O.
Nice clean shopping centre. Adequate parking and well maintained toilets. Usual fast food and anchor stores to be found in every large mall. I really yearn to see unoccupied space which is to be found in every mall populated with artisans boutiques ie crafts such as leather workers, jewellers, home made foods and clothing. There is nothing innovative in the minds of shopping centre magnates!
P. C.
Good range of shops and lots of parking though spaces are tight and can be hard to find at peak times.
P. M.
Well laid out for covid and we went to the cinema and they had reclining seats which was amazing
J. M.
Lots of free car parking, and reasonable shopping facilities both within & adjacent to the mall.
D. T.
The complex itself is good and has everything you need the cinema is outstanding by far the best ive been too. The only thing that wasn't appealing is the people that shop there are very rude and there kids are like wild animals but this has nothing to do with the complex so cant fault them for that just a heads up.
M. R.
This is a great opportunity for shopping, there are a lot of shops for food to clothes and house hold items, I love coming here for clothes and gardening items, I love home bargains for baking items and tescos is just around the corner.
M. S.
Home Bargain, B&m, newlook sports direct... Most of the shops there under one roof. Plenty of parking space available.
T. B.
Great cinema, lots of things to do in one place great shops.
P.
Lots of different shops
s. w.
Great place for kids and adults if you need something to do on a rainy day
D. S.
Everything i am looking for, i can find it there. All srores together. Love it.
J. L.
Everything you will get .nice place for shopping
M. M.
It's not really a big shopping mall. But it has everything you might need. There are grocery shops, charity shops, restaurants, coffee shops, movies, entertainment and recreation shops.
It is small but it has a wide variety of places and shops. Buy the place and interior has been the same for years that it feels tired. It should benefit from an interior design overhaul.
Free parking is a plus.
D. R.
Favorites brands in one place. Food, clothing, gardening, furniture and coffee break. Petrol station is here as well 😊
M. V.
Has a good selection of stores and cheaper Diesel than GO across the roas
W. R.
Parking available but tight at times. Stores of choice are fine for in and out quick shopping trip. Cinema is very good. Needs bit more entertainment on the retail side of things.
W. p. w.
Awesome shopping centre plenty of shops to choose from amd loads of entertainment
J. F.
Hard to get parked but could definitely spend a few. Hours here. Some great cheap shops, especially the Asda. Plenty of places to et, burger King, mandarin Chinese buffet etc, massive new look and sports direct and many many others. Would recommend but be careful driving.
F. C.
Chicken burgers are massive and amazing. The fish are beautiful. Staff are so friendly. I call every week
A. C.
Bright and vibrant place to shop, eat and have fun, lots of shops, beautiful toilet facilities and a massive free parking area. It's also only a 15 minute walk to the Belfast city centre 😊
C. M.
It's ok but could have more shops. The home bargains is a good size store whereas the b&m feels quite small.
Car park is always a night mare, it's well known for ones to park there and go into work but cityside claim they are trying to deal with it. Also lots of non disabled drivers parking in disabled spots as they are too lazy to walk an extra few feet.
P. M.
Great range of shops, although carpark very busy. Better parking availability near Poundland or Tesco.
D. G.
I attended at the Lost City Adventure Golf premises and I would highly recommend a visit. Good fun for all the family with a choice of courses to suit all ages. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.
A. K.
A few shops & places to eat not enough to keep you there for long best shop here is home bargains
R. H.
Has vastly improved in recent months. Centre is much cleaner, seems to be refurbished and more shops. A new introduction of crazy golf on the upper floor and a cinema. It's a great venue now, here's to more success for cityside.
C. T.
Good selection of shops and handy having the cinema there too!
J. B.
At the cinema to was Fantastic beasts. I thought I was sitting in a wind tunnel. The air conditioning was on blowing cold air full blast throughout the whole movie. I did go and ask them to turn it off to no avail. Ended up with my jumper over my head but still ended up with a draft over my shoulder. Not good.£3:50 tickets all day Tuesday. Good price. Expensive sweet and co counter as with any cinema. Should check out the Strand Cinema....x
R. J.
I haven't been here in quite a while but if ever I'm wanting to head to a cinema to watch a new film, this would always be my first choice place. The only other thing aside from the cinema I'd venture here to would be for their burger king fast food joint. My only complaint is that the car parking spaces are a bit tricky to find at peak times, this often leads to parking somewhere a little distance from the venue.
S. P.
Visited Lost City indoor crazy golf. Very busy on a Saturday night. Great fun for all ages. Had a good laugh. Cost £19 for one round of 18 holes for two adults and a five year old. Think it took about an hour to complete. I think it's worth it. The design is great for kids imagination.
C. 7.
Hit and miss really. Lots of budget type shops so it's always busy. Does the job but not exactly an enjoyable experience. Decent cinema though.
J. M.
Great shopping centre, has a lot of good stores such as a large tesco superstore, asda living, Poundland, home bargains, B&M, sports direct, there is a KFc and a Burger king within the area too, overall nice place to shop, has a lot of things.
T. B. L.
Plenty of parking with disabled parking directly out of the shops. Poundland, B&m and home bargains open as well as sports shops. Home bargains have stantizers a different ranger from liquids, gels and sprays. Both B&m and home bargains also sell face masks.
L. N.
Great spot for bit of cheap retail therapy esp if from down south ,home bargains ,b&m stores etc
T. C.
Great wee place with everything you need.
There is a multi cinema on the upstairs floor a beautiful all you can eat Chinese restaurant on the ground floor.
On Saturdays till 5pm 2 adults can eat for £17 total. Trust me the food is all freshly cooked and there is a great selection plus loads of deserts.
There is also a Tesco's,Asda,Sports Direct,Poundland,Subway,Burgerking,
B&M bargains,Home Bargains,Pound Stretcher and a few more.
S. A.
Well this place is a bit grim from the outside, not great selection of shops though carpeting is decent. You've got Asda on one side and Tesco around the front. Cinema isn't great but if you get in weekdays during the day it's near empty.
I. F.
Disabled parking places were taken up by cars that did not show blue badge. Did not like this place
S. M.
This place is fab, loads to do and the lost city putting course is brilliant for adults and/or kids
K. H.
Easy access for cars. Just not when you're driving an xlwb Mercedes sprinter. Parking bays are not big enough. Only one question.
Which bright spark, came up with the idea of putting Tim Hortons next door to Starmucks?
P. S.
Shopping, leisure, eatin and coffee all close proximity. Great parking facilities.
N. t. n.
Decent shops. Theres also a Chinese buffet place which is good value for money.
M. J.
A busy retail park! Many stores to choose from! B&M, Home Bargains etc are always busy, but clothes shops such a peacocks and new look are usually quieter! A few places to eat such as China buffet and burger King. New food outlets expected in the near future.
g. n.
With Tesco's and Asda along with a wide range of other shops it's all you need in one place value is very good there are probably about 50 disabled parking spaces but they would need double whatever they have to cope with their custom
G. M.
You've got a good selection of bargain stores like Pound Stretcher, B&M and Home Bargains, along with the likes of Sports Direct, Asda Living and Tesco. The Costa is the only place you can get a decent coffee, and the Movie House is also pretty handy too.
J. P.
A reasonably well appointed shopping centre - a number of bargain type shops which are always good for a rummage, a huge Asda and a massive Tescos too. The cinema is great and the Chinese buffet place was very good quality (apart from seeing a take-out customer using their hands instead of tongs....YUKK) - all in all a pretty good shopping centre!
G. M.
Is what it is. Car parking spaces are too small. Some days it's like the whacky races just trying to manoeuvre the carpark.
R. M. a.
Great 👍 variety of shops great value
S. B.
Really nice shopping center with a good sized cinema, a healthy dose of pound shops and a lot of eating establishments. Great place to pick up a few things for the house or enjoy a lazy coffee. Thoroughly recommend.
A. H.
City side retail park is great for me to get all and any foods I need. It has tesco. B an M. And an Iceland near by. It also has an all you can eat Chinese. A burger king, subway and a KFC across the road. Loads of retail shops and the movie house cinema
J. G.
Good cinema complex
L. M.
Good range of shops, the centre could do with a few upgrades though
G. M.
Standard mall, decent parking. Expanding its reach with the addition of VR City and Northern Ireland's first axe throwing venue! There's a cinema, adventure golf, Bingo and a queue at the cash machine 😛
D. M.
There is a lot to do here and free parking makes it a brilliant place to go. Sweets galore, good size cinema, Asda and Tescos, BK and a good Chinese Buffet. And now a new indoor crazy golf which I really liked.
D. M.
A good number of shops to choose from but all pretty much low-end. Some of the shops in the units come and go, and they're mostly all big chains. However it's got a.massive charity shop inside which is really good!
A. M. t. a.
Has everything you need instead of going into city centre, clothes shop's, coffee and food outlets also has kids places and mini golf! Could do with another restroom as only 1 on 1st floor at very back of building.
M. N.
Good place to shop. Free parking.
C. A. K.
Very low on cash machines. One charges you and the tesco bank 2 cash machines has one broken for over a year.
A. M.
The cinema is good, it's open quite late, possibly the latest in the area. There are one or two good shops in here and there is a lot of free parking. Outside has the better shops with tesco and asda available.
L. G.
Free parking, a good choice of affordable clothes shops, cheap petrol nearby, a good cinema, supermarkets, fast food and enjoyable coffee bars, including crazy golf, charity shops, a gym and axe throwing! Something for everyone. 🙂
H. B.
An easily accessible mall without the regular traffic jams that surround them. Easy to pop in and out to get what you need with large stores such as ASDA home, Tesco's, B & M bargains a couple of eateries and a Costa Coffee. Parking is usually readily available and the onsite Cinema is my preferred choice in the city. Ideal if you like to go out and get what you *know* you want!
A. A.
Fun and activities packed environment. Good for children indoor experience
B. W.
They have a cinama inside
S. G.
Today was a bad day, after going into one of the stores in the retail park I was disgusted at one of the checkout operators. I am partially disabled and have to use a walking stick, now trying to put items into the basket and carry the basket with one free hand is something that I have had to get used to, but, never before have I had to unload and pack my items with one hand at the checkout until today. Being Sarcastic I turned and said thank you very much for your help, to which she replied you're welcome. If that wasn't bad enough she helped the customer behind me pack all of his 3 items.
J. H.
Great selection of shops! Tesco's can be a bit bare compared to some of the bigger branches but grand for essentials.
J. L. (.
They have everything - But I Like a Beer and i haven't seen any Beer - Only Spirits - Am Trying to find out myself why Are they not bringing in the beer from the back off their stor ?
M. S.
Cityside (originally York Gate) is your all in one stop for majority of the stuff you need, from asda living, Tescos to an all you can eat buffet as well as a cinema and a gym, only downside is if you're driving, depending on the time of day you may find it hard to get a parking spot, but if you're not going to be too long you can always park across the street at iceland.
K.
Good Chinese buffet restaurant but only a few budget retailers one highlight was the largest charity shop in Northern Ireland. Definitely a bit dated in terms of decor though
R. S.
Bk . chicken royale with cheese. Jules didn't have any. Diet sprite yum yum yum yum
S. M.
City side has come a long way it really has but there is still something missing from it. I would definitely pick Abbey centre over city side any day. Although cityside is usually very busy it just feels life less not the happiest or most inviting place to visit in Belfast. It needs better restaurants. I remember the good old days when Harry ramseys was there it's was family orientated and a great place to eat.
T. K.
Not bad
A. N.
Whilst playing adventure golf I was unfortunately transported to an alternate dimension where I became ruler over two warring clans. A quiet way to spend a wet Thursday afternoon.
Chinese buffet after was a necessity.
S. M.
Plenty of shops in a small area
T. B. V. M. B.
Love the range of shops good parking. And it has a cinema and an all you can it Chinese.I go about once a month as its a wee bit far for my normal shopping needs. The Cinema and Chinese are the main reason i go.
J. l. J.
Golfing was fun, but a little busy at all the holes
A. D.
Great food- different options for everyone. Steak night is worth the money. Staff friendly and helpful. Will visit again 👍
R. D.
Good place for children
S. M.
New place for me but i found it interesting
N. B.
Good amount of shops, the asda is great, city side in general is a bit crowded
J.
Nice and clean visit the cinema recliner seats great comfortable
J. C.
A decent selection of shops and cafes, having a cinema is definitely appreciated. There is free parking, so at least it's a city centre shopping centre that you don't have to pay a fortune just to spend money there!
P. M. u. M.
Great selection of shops🙂 the only downside I would have that there was a lot of cars parked in the disabled bays that where not displaying a badge☹️
S.
Went to black axe throwing it was great fun. There is plenty of shops & activities.
K. B.
Could do with a few more restaurants inside. Maybe a ten pin bowling too.
Also doubling up of carpark (multistory) is very much needed. Busy times can be a nightmare to get parked. More space would mean more people could come. The carpark is limiting capacity of visitors. Tesco should open 7-11 like the small stores.
The taxi rank outside Tesco needs moved, horrid place to locate it right at junction on roundabout. This urgently need rethought to help with congestion at the major entrance exit to the site.
T. W.
Loved it outside a bit dirty but in the shops good and people very helpful and polite
D. H.
Loads to so and see. My now wife and I use to go and watch a movie and go to the wee bar beside. Love them times
R. M.
Great spot to take the wee ones for run about in funky monkeys, great shops onsite and all respectful of covid guidelines
G. P.
I like the cinema also home base shoping. At times too many cars and had to fine parking space. Park in Dandy Row and get train to York gate station. I use my over sixty pass
Then enjoy the strole back via town
L.
It was my first time here this evening. What a great team! Excellent manners, customer focused and extremely helpful. I forgot what good customer service was like!! Brilliant team 👏👏
C. C.
Decent site..new stores arrived in 2016 which are great. The cinema is handy and the retail mix is pretty decent. Free parking, all good.
e. f.
Lots for kids to do while you're shopping.. crazy golf, movie house and burger king.. Decent shopping but nothing designer, £ shops galore and Tescos.. Nice Chinese buffet and bingo hall..
M. D.
Love New Look store, B&M,Asda Living and Home Bargains. Tesco there too. Plenty of parking available
S. M.
Nice variety. Of shops would go again
A. S.
Clean and friendly place for shopping, for Art's learning.
M. A.
Got everything I needn't
M. L.
Great if you like discount stores and a free car park. Food offerings not so good and could do with a better selection of shops
s. w.
Have been to cinema many times here great place for shopping as well
R.
Not great if you're disabled. Very busy car park very few disabled spaces and quite a lot of walking. Quite cold and uninviting entrance. No visible security presence anywhere. Would not recommend.
C. D.
Occasionally a bit dirty, often busy, still big enough to usually get in and get what you need.
D. L.
Yorkgate lol citywide needs a face lift outdated for years now taken public for granted
R.
Not a bad spot to shop. Lots of shops in one place. When it’s busy it can be hard to park at times
R. O.
Good cinema here. And mini golf. Also home bargains and B&M are located here
