Reviews of Coal Drops Yard
F. G.
One of the trendiest, most modern markets in London. With such unique and curated stores. Amazing clothes, furniture, decorations in a contemporary atmosphere. My favorite Mexican restaurant, Casa Pastor, is here too. Really convenient since it’s close to King’s across Station and Regent’s Canal. You can even walk to Camden Town from here
w. t.
What a beautiful place. 19th century building holding its originals but converted into shopping space, cafes, eating places, drinks n a lot more fun. Just 4 mins walk from King X & St Pancras stations. Love the location just at the canal. Plenty of things to enjoy. Beautiful playing fountains, walking around for more history, shopping, relaxing at canal side stairs, everything just at one place. What else we need.
N. H. A.
A great place when you can come here to go and see many shop of goods with an amazing variety, drink coffee, eat and shop everything.
I. S.
Lots of shops, new restaurants and coffee places to explore. Definitely worth the visit. Shops include, COS, a very big Samsung store, earl of East, Paul Smith and lots of others.
M. W.
Interesting mix of mid end retailing and food outlets. This is a vast redeveloped area well worth a visit. . Look.out for the £3 doughnut shop😂.
A. W.
Having not been near the King's Cross area for years, the whole area was such a pleasant surprise. Great restaurants, quirky food and craft markets. The cold could not detract from the experience.
L. S.
Been to the NLA room, fantastic spaces generally. Toilets are kept clean and the lighting interventions around the place bring the spaces to life.
M. D.
New favourite pace in london. With its swooping roofs and old brickwork, large open space and contemporary stores, with great food and drink. It literally has it all - oh I forgot the dancing fountains and giant open air cinema. Literally my got in place when I’m off to London now.
E. W.
Great shopping/eating area. Lovely mix of businesses and very welcoming. Great location by the canal with easy distance from Kings Cross station
B.
Nice place to spend some time and stroll around on a sunny summer day. ☀️ Lots of shops and restaurants here, and the canal with all the cute house boats is just around the corner!! 🤩👍
R. H.
Beautiful new outdoor shopping and experience area. Lots of shops to browse or sit down and people watch.
N. R.
Enjoyable area to visit and take time to wander around small shops, cafes and restaurants. Lots of interesting places to browse with artisanal products. Honest Jon’s Records is small but large selection of interesting world music on vinyl.
S. W.
Highly recommended, fantastic place for a chilled out day with shops, restaurants and art. Brilliant to see the place and how in 30 years place has been transformed!!!
L.
Great new sight in London. The entire area was revamped and surroundings behind king's Cross. Plenty of shops and restaurants. The architecture of the mall is impressive, the new housing development inside the gas tanks is just amazing. It deserves a visit.
J. N.
The development of Coal Drops Yard could be traced back to 1850s, and it was transformed to today's shopping and dining places in 2010s. When you walk around the area, it is good to know more about the history as well as the efforts of conserving the historical structures during the development.
E. S. P.
Great experience at Coal Drops Yard! You'll find a lovely artisan market selling food, juices and accessories!🍐🍅🍟🌼 Further, the area has lovely restaurants and you can enjoy a meal with friends seating outside. I'd recommend visiting and taking a good camera with you! There are lots of picture perfect spots nearby! 😊
A. O.
Lovely relaxing place for everyone especially if you waiting for your train
Cafes, restaurant, music
Very chill atmosphere
C. L. (.
By far my favorite area in London. Nice cozy area with beautiful architecture all around!
L. S.
Lovely place, will be a great in the summer, fun for children. Shopping and good eating places for adults
J. S.
Lots going on here today Saturday. Bean bag sloped seating by the canal for great views to watch the tennis on a big screen.
Lots of unique and high end shops. The kitchen shop was very interesting. There’s a face workout place too.
Small fountains to enjoy and splash around in.
Various colourful artists installations.
DJ spinning dance tunes - people dancing like lockdown is just about to finish - lol.
Good for foodies.
Restaurants in nearby streets as well, from Sri Lankan to Korean although we could not get a walk in table at the Korean kimchi so book in advance.
Lovely canal side location handy for kings cross, St Pancras and 20 minute walk to Camden along the water’s edge and just admire the simplistic off grid boat life contrasting with the £7.5 million penthouse apartments.
M. P.
Popular outdoor space, beautifully regenerated with stylish bars, restaurants & boutiques.
In the summer the space is well utilised for public entertainment & late night activities.
A. H.
Coal Drops Yard is worth visiting just to look at Heatherwick's stunning adaptation of the old building with the swooping kissing roofs. But there are some architecturally interesting buildings very close by that are worth checking out. To the west are blocks of flats constructed using gigantic old gas containers as their framework. To the north is Lewis Cubitt Square and the Aga Khan's Institute (a university for the study of Islamic cultures) and to the north east is Handyside St and in particular 22 nominated in 2021 for a world architecture award.
M. C.
This is a lovely part of King's Cross which I finally had the chance to explore a bit yesterday. I will make time to go back and walk around more very soon.
N. N. J.
Beautiful, fantastic...Cool location, some shops, some great setting, great food options. Park at King cross station....and walk 2 minutes. Samsung KX experience store in there apart from many other stores. Roadside small shops made it lively.
T. L.
One of my new favourite places!
They have a wide range of restaurants and bars. Also, the retail stores available on site have great variety. There is no shortage of seatings within the compound which makes it great for both shopping or just strolling out. The bathrooms for both men and women is all in one room but is well divided, they even have a gender neutral cubicle which amazed me. The entire compound was kept clean to a high standard. Love this place!
B. P.
I love this place! And the restaurants, bars and coffee shops are all so beautiful!
L. S.
Beautifully setting and very clean with lots of little shops, cafes and restaurants
P. N. C.
Little bit disappointed with the design of the historic yards. However nice display showing the history of the area
J. N.
Beautiful place so many different boutiques and places to eat. Definitely has a community feel about it, would recommend to anyone.
N. S.
Cool new place with lots of shopping, eating and drinking places. More on the expensive and refined side. Most places are dog friendly.
G. S.
Lovely clean area with upmarket stores. Would love to bring my little son just to roam around if not to make any purchases even. Feels totally different from the vibes you get from the other side of kings Cross Station. Samsung store is cherry on the cake!!!
c. h.
Was wowed by this place on a balmy late-summer's evening. A really nice vibe and plenty of folks out and about. Obvs. pricy drinks but sip slowly and enjoy the ambiance.
K. N.
Had a lovely meal at this restaurant. Was busy when we visited (not unexpected for a good place) - we were promptly sitted and attended to. The black chap who looked after us did a good job. Food made sense - Chicken Biryani with rice and garlic bread. Tasted nice. Only slight con was that the seating arrangement felt a bit tight. I could easily hear the conversation on the next table, thus, wished they had a bit more spacing.
Other than that, had a great experience and will visit in the future.
B. P.
Lovely place to browse the small shops in the amazing architecture. Also worth looking at gas holders a small walk away.
J. B.
I like coal drops yard. Great place to wander and look into shops without that stressful Oxford Street vibe.
All the shops are a bit pricey though. There's not really anything that isn't around there, especially the clothing shops!
E. R.
Everytime I'm passing by this place, I'm liking it !
Always crowded and full of nice people, enjoying and relaxing everywhere, by the canal or just on the grass..
Parents with kids playing by the fountain..
I can just imagine how many people will be here in the nearest future, when Google building will open..
So, for me personally, this wonderful place looks more attractive in the very early morning, when there is no one...just you and the wonderful sunrise.. )))
S. K.
This place is amazing and offers soooo much- shopping, food , independent stores and traders, gardens, and the locks is soo serene You could spend a whole day here .
R. C.
Another great find which is right near King's Cross. Plenty of things to see.. if you like architecture, this is a must visit if you are nearby.
H. K.
Best place for a nice day/night out in Kings cross / Saint Pancras area.
Plenty of boutique shops with unique clothes.
Some of the best coffee shops in London.
Superb and unique selection of Restaurants, wine and cocktail bars
More places opening continuously.
Nice area to seat by the river.
A beautiful green , botanical upper walkway.
J. T.
Such a great place - so many shops and places to eat
M. S.
Stunning and transformative urban regeneration development which comes at a price, literally. The cost of converting a derelict area of land in Kings Cross must have been stratospheric, aided quite possibly by public subsidy. The result is a collection of mostly ridiculously over-priced stores selling products which ordinary folk would give a wide berth. £450 for a cardigan... The Shelter charity shop was a reminder of the reality of real life.
T. B.
Worked here doing reconstruction 7-8 years ago to bring this place back to life. And visiting again after such a long time brought back a lot of good memories. This place is thriving now with so many places you can go to and things to do. Bring your family and friends here, your loved ones. You are promised to have a great time 100%.
M. M.
A beautiful place to visit, with well designed green spaces, full with colour and interesting plants. The architecture of the buildings around this place is something else. Inside Coal Yard you can find lots of restaurants and pubs and some shops too, all very elegant and pricey. A big plus is Central Saint Martins, renowned arts and design college, with many interesting expositions.
M. S.
With recent COVID-19 rules’ easing, this hidden under-the-ground place next to King’s across has been more lively than ever, with a large selection of cute cafes and restaurants all around it. Definitely a place worth visiting!
I. B.
Great retail development alongside the Regent Canal. Plenty of places to eat and drink, some on open terraces. Interesting display of photographs of the history of the Old Coal yard.
s. m.
Worth a visit for the architecture alone. Mix of pre railway coal yard next to canal, Victoria gas regulators turned into flats and sympathic modern building among old. Good selection of shops and restaurants.
N. M.
Excellent place lovely historic buildings and lovely eateries and open spaces .😄😄😄
C. A.
Great place - lovely canal and artsy area
T. M.
Lovely looking place.Great stores.Nice pop up markets.
M. V.
High end fashion and restaurants in redeveloped historic railway yard just north of Kings Cross station.
B. Y.
So many cute little shops all in one place!!. Lovely place to browse and full of different restaurants. Don't expect sale prices round here though....
S. H.
Always a great experience visiting Coal Drops yard whether it being in the heart of summer or winter.
Nice location a large variety of options for eating, drinking and shopping.
D. F.
It's work in progress but what is there is outstanding will only get better
M. R.
Lots of nice places to eat/shop, but my favourite are the grass covered (artificial, and only during the summer months) steps. South facing and overlooking the cannal, you forget you are in central London.
Also beautiful sunsets, and often has design led temporary installations.
G. 0.
Very impressed with the architecture that has been use to the max. A beautiful, practical and wonderful space for all. They even have a golf course which looked like great fun and mostly used by happy children and parents. Well worth a visit. Toilets too!
K. N.
Coal Drops Yard is a cute, revamped area of King's Cross. There are charming little boutique shops as well as bars and restaurants.
It's by the canal and all-in-all a nice place to stroll and wander around regardless of the time of year.
It's only about 5 minutes walking distance from King's Cross station as well which makes it easy to reach.
D. T.
Brilliant location to have a drink, do some events and some shopping
d. y.
I remember this place when it was a 90s club destination, now it's just amazing( for totally different reasons), from the minute you get out of kings X there's a lot going on. This area has been transformed. Don't recommend driving as parking is typically over priced an the car park is a tight affair. My fav shops, kitchen provisions, black horse arteliers, ilcutz, eats- barrafina
S. S.
We love hanging out there with our little daughter. Fountains, Canal, stairs to climb, plenty of space, what's not to like?! And when restaurants are open it's even better! :)
I. E.
One of my favourite places in London!
It's particularly beautiful at the moment while the Christmas lights are still up.
I visited on a Saturday night and it was pretty quiet.
There are plenty of nice restaurants & bars to visit, along with lots of interesting shops and places to sit. There are also these strange rotating chairs you can sit in, which are fun.
It's definitely worth visiting the fountains in front of Central Saint Martins, as they're always fun to watch.
Highly recommended!
M. L. B.
Completely in love with this place! CDY have added another great touch of magic to the the King’s Cross area - one of the few incredible place to be ALL YEAR ROUND!
G. B.
Great place to eat and shop. Spacious, photogenic, relaxed. The fountains are awesome. Plenty of covered space if it's raining. Plus the nearby gas cylinders and canal are also very cool. All within 5 mins of Kings Cross and St. Pancras. Worth a visit.
A. M.
Great place for a happy hour, meet friend and chill. You can find coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and stores open until 11pm.
H. E.
Had no idea this place existed. I always remember the back of kings cross station for the night clubs in the 90s. Discovering this new development was amazing. It's very on trend and the shops are are interesting mix to suit all types. The restaurants are all well reviewed. We ate at caravan and loved it.
H. M.
Relaxing place to shop and eat, some individual shops ,makes a great time out plenty to see.
I. K.
cleanliness is one of the most fascinating features of this place along with peace, beauty, and love and romanticism of the people with each other. historical element is another significant aspect of this place. Moreover, the canal passing through this place is amazing, for it is an addition of natural beauty.
A. C.
A wonderful & vibrant experience in a much improved part of London. A useful variety of interesting market stalls and eclectic shops & eateries.
C. M.
Sympathetic"restoration" of the old buildings and arches.. now occupied by upmarket shops and eateries. They've tried to incorporate some greenery, so lovely for a stroll alone or with friends
C. I.
I adore this place. Especially the spring and summer days, it feels great being there. So many options for food and drinks and there are areas where you can relax on the grass. The fountains are also a plus, particularly for kids playing around during summer.
A. K.
Great space that blends the history of the site with small unique shops and cafes, restaurants. Spacious enough not to feel too busy but small shops give it an intimate feel. Find it hard to believe that Kings cross has been transformed so completely. The previous tenants wouldn't recognise the area
M. B.
Lovely place. Wide open spaces with beautifully designed buildings housing designer shops. Don't expect any bargains as this place is high class. Quite a few nice cafes with outside seating and pleasant staff. Well worth a visit. There is also a cheap Nike store just a short walk away near to the Google offices
f. b.
Good selection of high end stores plus wine bars and eateries. Great place to while away a Sunday afternoon.
A. P.
Lively charming area very close to kings x and St Pancras stations. Great restaurants buzzing with life and sitting next to Regents Canal....love it
S. D.
Nice place for food the Spanish tapes, the place is not sigh posted very well but the food coming out if there looked really good Catalan bread with tomatoes and garlic
A. C.
Lovely place. Great feelings. So close from the Eurostar!
K. U.
Love spending a Saturday here. Great for a swanky atmosphere with a cool vibe. Nice selection of mid- range to fine dining places as well as cafés and shops and a weekend market for unique goods and crafts.
D. B.
Dropped in while in London on way back to kings cross station , worth spending more time there if you can , had a great bite to eat and coffee at Morty & Bobs. Kings cross station is only a 10 minute walk. Plenty little crafty shops to look in 👍
C. P.
Such a cool place just few steps behind Kings Cross Station.
Buzzing with restaurants, bars and shops.
I particularly like the Samsung KX space, I went for Comedy Clubs, Yoga Lessons and looking forward to the Hoola Fit Lesson next week. You can find tickets and offers from TimeOut, the value is incredible and you will have a great time!
Also plenty of fun activities to do!
L. D.
Clean, spacious, lots of public seating availability (and a lovely hum of jazz from a nearby restaurant.
A. T.
Just incredible part of the ongoing transformation of the King's X area. Full of retail, pricey, quirky eateries a shout out for Morty and Bobs for a quick snack and a coffee, amazing cheese toasties. Great area to spend time waiting for your train.
P. C.
I love this place. Not only does it hold a lot of memories for me but there is so much to do here. Great selection of shops and restaurants.
S. w.
Fantastic location with a mellow vibe, not over pretentious with lots of choice in cafes and restaurants. Enjoyed visiting the Samsung Experience Centre, which had areas you could just relax and enjoy the ambiance of music while overlooking the Coal Yards.
I. J.
Cant believe how this area of london has developed. Some fantastic cafes, and shops amidst buildings steeped in history at coal drops yard. Beautiful landscape planting now too. Such a treat to spend time exploring this place
T. F.
A sensitive redevelopment that still retains many original features. Quite a nice place to hang out for a light lunch and a bit if window shopping. If you are a fan of rivet's you are in luck as many of the original ironwork is still visible. You can join the canal towpath which is on the same level as the yard. The whole area has been designed as one to chill.
L. G.
Great shops, fabulous atmosphere, pristine and well looked after. Plenty of choice for things to do from shopping, to brunching to popping in for a coffee or a cocktail. One of my most favourite London discoveries!
A.
Built beautifully with lots of different areas to wander through and explore.
Lovely, free and clean public toilets here too if you need!
A. J.
It's a huge place with so many varieties of shops, pubs, eateries and shopping centres as well. When I went last Friday evening they had a live music happening as well.
T. D.
Very nice area to spend nice time ! Lots of going on plenty places to eat or drink ! definitely one of my favourite in kings cross area !
A. S.
A great place to visit, for me, simply to enjoy the structure and gentrification into a Camden-esque trendy place. Most of the shops are not relevant to my needs but worth window shopping.
I enjoyed turning the cost into a wide visit to Somers Town, St Pancras as well as the canal towards Camden.
H. J.
Great place, fab atmosphere.
M. G.
It's good place for shopping and rest
C. T.
Very good series of shops and restaurants and supermarkets and, occasionally, food pop-up in the yard in front of Waitrose. Overall and enjoyable place to both visit and to shop in.
P.
Nice place to chill, love the market during some weekends.
J. G.
Wonderful unique shops and a very pleasant place to have a drink or eat. Best place to kill some time before jumping on an international train. Especially interior shops, clothing and care, special for perfume lovers...
M. J.
My new favourited place to hang out. Lots of interesting shops, restautanats and bars and just beside the canal too so all very pleasant. Will come back next time I am in London.
H. A.
Great space for socialising, shopping but most importantly inspiration for lifestyle and design. Great independent companies with unique products and always rewarding to support smaller sellers build their business and brand 👌🏻👍🏻😊
N. B.
Amazing new development at the Coal Drops Yard. Lots of amazing shops and make sure you visit the Samsung Experience Store. It's lots of fun!
R.
I actually discovered this place by coincidence and I’m so glad I did! It’s amazing. They have cafes, shops, restaurants and even salons so you’ll pretty much find what you’re looking for. You have to stop for a second and appreciate the glass structure! Such an engineering masterpiece.
s.
A fantastic new place in London. Most of the shopping are is located East or West side of London. Having this shopping area just by St Pancras and the canal is brilliant.
R. M.
Absolutely stunning development. Only knocking it one star as literally none of the shops were really appealing. Has a very independent, expensive vibe. Like a high class Shoreditch but a bit like a ghost town on this Saturday afternoon. Not sure if I would put those kinds of shops in this area. Not sure it really matches the crowd but perhaps when all the housing is built and people move in- it’ll be to cater to the super rich. We wanted to check it out as we are thinking of buying but not sure that’s the kind of place we want to buy into.
Lots of loos. Top notch condition. The Samsung space on the top floor is really cool. We ate at granary Square brasserie and walked around after but apart from that just not any stores we wanted to go into. Until you head closer to kings cross station and you find & other stories, Jigsaw, Nike, etc which was more of what we were looking for. Christmas tree displays were lovely though and lovely fountain that changes colours in the evening. Will definitely go back. Is a lovely place for a meal and a walk around. They also had a street market in front of Waitrose. Had some mulled wine and lots of interesting stalls. Found it odd they have a giant Waitrose but no accessible parking or validation. We don’t live far but we wanted to do a big shop but we’re unable to. As too much to carry. I’m sure again- it’ll be to cater to the people that live in the housing they’ve built/are building.
J. S.
Very nice area to be around. The Lighterman was a great place to eat, breakfast was good and so was the service! It also as a good view of the canal while you eat.
The shops of the area all offering premium style good. Love the Samsung shop but I did feel outnumber by the staff.
N.
Beautiful new development in King's Cross, right by Granary Square. Two old coal warehouses are transformed into retail / dining / open spaces by Heatherwick's beautiful architecture. It's truly a beautiful area, with almost High Line like views from some of the pathways.
G.
Beautiful addition to London, architectural beauty combined with hip shops and restaurants will make you want to come back after your first visit.
C. S.
Complete rejuvenation of the area has made this user trendy and a genuinely cool place to eat out and socialise . Recommended as it caters to all foodies, vegan and otherwise. Book in advance for any of the restaurants here. It's very popular
R. N.
I absolutely loved the ambience at the Coal Drops Yard. Beautifully lit, it is definitely one to visit after sunset. Loved the shops in the area, great food and altogether a great experience.
V. R.
It is beautiful. You can find here restaurants, cafes, stores, salons. It is a perfect blend between the old and the new. Feels lovely to walk and absorb the ambiance of the area
P. E.
Very exciting new development in kings cross. Shops expensive. Hot food. Good views. Toilets. Worth a visit.
T. H.
Impressed with the new coal drops yard, can't believe the difference is making to the area. Well with a visit. The walkway is similar to the high line in NYC on a smaller scale. Great work on the Gas Holders converting to apartments. Don't think many people will be able to afford them though!
P. T.
I travel through Euston and walk past King's Cross every day but didn't know this place existed. I didn't experience the shops but the place looks fantastic for some retail therapy and the kubitts live music (for free) made this a great evening to unwind after work
A. J.
Lots to see nice place to visit
B. J.
Fantastic development, a really energetic area with lots of small shops and restaurants. The Samsung Experience 'Penthouse' is a must visit, truly unique and lots to see and do!
C. L.
Lovely complex with plenty of choices between food or shopping! The space is great and staff in all shops friendly. Go go go!
N. D.
A nice place with surrounding shops , eating places , waterfalls & lovely canal with boats passing by. Kings X underground station is nearby. St Pancras International is also worth a stroll in with the piano players.
G. C.
Very modern and spacious place to visit. Lots of small shops and places to eat. A place to have a leisurely walk.
E. W.
Wow I had no idea there'd be so much to see and do here--should've come earlier in the day! Nice and safe at night though, too. There's a small market (Canopy Market--not sure their schedule) with a mix of hand-made goods and food, and a Waitrose, so you can grab a drink and watch the sunset if nothing else. Lots of shops and some pubs in the area, plus the architecture is a great modernization of classic industrial brick. Take a walk around St Pancras and Kings Cross while you're in the area!
M. V.
Unquestionably one of my favorite places in London. Such a cool look, fantastic vibe, with tons and tons of dining, drinking and shopping options. I just love it
C. T.
An amazing area. Completely rejuvenated. Nice cafes and niche stores. A few cool restaurants. Nicely connected to the canal. Connecting new and old london in a beautiful juxtaposition. Neatly tucked away behind kings cross station. Must visit.
A. L.
A great example of how to restore a disused railway warehouse brownfield site into a retail and shopping area. Old warehouse buildings have been restored into a Camden lock type vibe.
S. S.
Nice shops, local history, fountains for kids to play in on a sunny day.
I. P. H. L.
Went there because of the Classic Carboot Fair. Unique market with many photo opportunities and if you like vintage and classic cars, lots of stalls to browse through.
The pictures are of that fair on that weekend. It’s not like this all the time. 😜
S. M.
I was very surprised to find this place with lots of different restaurants to eat would definitely recommend going
p. b.
They had a DJ playing banging tunes. Massive open space, great place to take the kids with a nice selection of shops, galleries and museums.
D. S.
Very cool levantine restaurant. Trendy. Unusual food you wouldn't get elsewhere and decent soundtrack. 1 small gripe. Staff were very fussy. Had to stop eating once because of the constant water filling
m.
The Coal Drops Yard is a newly developed outdoor shopping centre. The place was once part of the Victorian brick viaducts that serviced the industrial revolution. Now's it's been renovated and houses lots of mid to high end independent shops that you won't find on the high street, which makes a nice change for such a central part of London.
M. M.
A wonderfully vibrant area with high end high Street shops, trendy restaurants, bars all set alongside the beautiful Regents canal.
Coal Drops Yard entrance stems from the main walkway along the canal, adjacent to Granary Square paved area, with warehouse style buildings and offices housing shops, cafes, Media, Tech and Arts companies.
R. M.
Had dinner at the Granary Square Brasserie, very good service and lovely food. Been here before and it is surprisingly good given the number of tables here. Recommended, for these reasons!
H. Y.
This place is fantastic! This used to be a decrepit, unsightly areA that you really didn’t want to hang around it. I cannot believe the change. Great selection of shops, restaurants, coffee bars and loads of outdoor space. It winds up the Regents canal and reminds me a lot of the high line in New York City. 100% worth a visit when you’re in london.
D. H.
Trendy open spot that seems to be trying to bring Camden Lock to Kings Cross, but without the punk / new wave heritage. Theres an eclectic mish-mash of shiny new designer shops, a big Champagne bar, street food, artisan bakers (see the boat.on the canal) and more idiosyncratic offerings. It's been going a while, but it still lacks that lived in feel of some of Londons more long running markets. Theres also the inevitable ugly blocks of "luxury flats" to the immediate north and a huge Waitrose that somehow doesnt impinge on the slightly boho vibe. Its unrecognisable from when I first knew the area, and to me it's a shame the old gasometer wasnt made something of, but progress comes in all shapes and sizes. At least the development has kept a good deal of the old industrial feel.
N. H.
Posh shopping centre that has recently been renovated transforming the Kings Cross area. It’s a lovely are to walk around and browse. A market also runs in the area selling food and goods.
A. A.
Great redevelopment - thoughtful design & good range of restaurants & shops. Love how the old gas storage towers have been repurposed to residential.
R. T.
I have not been around Kings Cross for a long while, was very impressed with the changes, it's very beautiful, the old buildings are transformed beautifully, coal drops yard I would recommend to anyone to visit
P. A.
Beautiful place I'm a Londoner and never new there was this hidden gem a bus ride away from were I live. Defonatley recommend.
D. M.
A beautiful, interactive space in the evenings. We ate at Dishoom then window shopped all the lovely lit up stores. The urban spaces were bright and beautiful with unique suspended light installations.
W. T.
Lovely place to visit.
J. B.
We came in May and it was really quiet, but it is now vibrant and interesting. Good place to eat and sit back and people watch.
B. G.
Like too many places it's geared up towards higher incomes. Unlike the older shopping areas that catered for all income groups. A nice place to see but I haven't won the lottery!
J. R.
Cool place. Lots of funky shops to visit. Interesting architecture. Nice coffee shop who's name I can't remember.
G. D. E.
Amazing open space recovering and old and industrial area of the city, turning out in a vibrant new community and commercial area.
R. S.
Nice new place near Kingscross station for stores and some restaurants, pub, and coffee shops. It seems that this place is trying to be an high-end shopping centre, but somehow I just didn’t feel it ‘right’. Nothing special at all, other than those interesting ‘playground’ at the ground floor atrium.
C. M.
Nice place to grab some food. This is a very hipster part of town with lots of people that have good marketing strategies to upmarket their wares.
L. d. M.
Lovely place with many options to eat and shops. Good option to meet friends as it's right next to King's Cross, which is central and we'll connected.
R. B.
Nice area full of shops and restaurants
J. b.
Was here for the classic car boot sale.
Nice place to visit on a Sunday afternoon, lots of shops and stalls. A bit like Camden Market but a bit on the expensive side.
J. V.
Great place to go to! Numerous places to eat and shops to explore!
E. S.
We went for a meal in the granny bistro and it was great meal and they had lots of stalls in the indoor market and there was more stalls where in the coal drop which we did not have time to look but the next time I amthere w old go and have a look.
M. J.
Another place i love to visit. Just found out about a great restaurant that I want to try. Will update in my return.
D. G.
Great place for drinks, food and shopping. A huge selection of food and drinks and some pretty cool shops. Wander along the Canal to Camden as well for even more fun.
D. C.
Massive transformation around here. Great place to visit now with plenty of eateries.
J. C.
Loved the shapes and light of this architecture . Not very busy when we visited but I am guessing it becomes quite a great space in the evening.
M. M.
First time I've been here but looks amazing . Good selection of shops and bars and lovely surroundings . This place has a great future 🍀
D. a. D. T.
Best churros around, great friendly staff and cheap as well, chocolate 🍫 sauce was so nice on a autumn 🍂 day. Will definitely visit again
G. M.
This newly redeveloped area next to Regents Canal, just North of the beautiful St Pancras Eurostar terminal and associated buildings is a welcome addition to North Central London's living space
N. R.
So cool! Great shops and food lovely atmosphere wouldn't believe you were in London. Will definitely be going back
I. L.
This area has been entirely and beautifully redeveloped to match (and beat) their neighbor Granary Square! Urban design with beautiful finishes. It’s perfect for a walk and there’s so many shops to browse such as cos, Fred perry, American vintage and others. There’s also some nice restaurants and cafes. Definitely the new meeting point in town!
a. p.
Great part of London, very pricey but a nice place to go with kids to chill out and get some foody bits from the covered market
A. K.
as flash new big *private* (not public) spaces go, not bad. particularly like the random play spots, big pouffes and fermob seating. covered market looks into UAL studios where colourful people cobble drab arty things. could do with more relaxed, less strictly 'designated' open air restaurant/cafe seatings.
F. A.
Beautiful area - especially by the canal. None of the shops are places I would usually shop at but I still enjoy checking them out :)
T. C.
Very cool place go hang out with a lot of restaurants, a very cool view on the canal, and a lot of place to chill. Love the green areas, and the very relax atmosphere, where you can just loose track of time with friends and relatives after work or on weekends
A. C.
The newly redeveloped Coal Drops Yard shopping district designed by Thomas Heatherwick is a real triumph of good design and regeneration of a previously dilapidated area in Kings Cross. Good mix of some quirky retail outlets and also dining options. Coal Drops Yard is a well designed addition to the continued urban regeneration of London. Go check it out!
S. E.
Love this area in London. Has come up a long way from what it used to loook like!! Amazing to come on the weekend when they have a little market
V. H.
Beautiful place to wonder around.
W. H.
Coal Drops Yard is fantastic. A great mix of shops, bars and restaurants. There really is something for everyone, whether your there during the day or in the evening.
Very highly recommended.
D. M.
You can see that this place if quite new, not so many people are visiting this place. I loved the details they have left in all buildings. You can feel the history in those walls. In addition to that you get a variety of food and shops to choose From + canopy market as a bonus.
A. D.
Unbelievable! For someone who’s been away from London for a couple of years this place blew my mind, you won’t believe how they’ve developed this area and incredible food and shopping options hefe
M. D.
Plenty of space to get around. Great buzz about the place and lots of quality shopping.
M. م.
A popular spot and very central to London.. accessible from kings cross and at Pancras. Lots of shops and restaurants. A nice area to hang about and right by the canal and the picturesque St Pancras Lock
A. B.
Like a hipster heaven. All the standard over priced fare and soulless architecture you could ever want. Which is why I like it.
To be fair the coffee shops are reasonably priced and many of the shops have lovely regenerated interiors from the old building. However, the lower forecourt the could do with some events or other liveliness though. The Canopy Market near by has a much better overall atmosphere, I would encourage a little bit of that into the CDY.
I. C.
Love the Kings Cross regenerated areas. Coal Drips yard is the newest part with a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Shops are fairly high end, in keeping with the surroundings.
D. R.
Super wide range of places to go for shopping and eating. Great vibes, during the summer they even had a little outdoor cinema which was super cool. The concept is well executed and does not feel stiff and touristy, making it a much better experience than other places.
J. I. A.
Such a chilled place. Went there for after work drinks. Friendly staff with banter (I loved that)
E.
Slightly underwhelming. Quite a lot of empty space and not much to do not going to lie. I think the architecture and outside space is very nice and cosy and inviting. But the better restaurants are outside of coal drops yard and it just felt a bit flat. I think I would go again but I’d definitely pick Camden market, for example, over it.
S.
Totally surprised about how amazing this shopping area is. It exceeded my expectations.
B. S.
We discovered the yard having a little walk around Kings Cross station - architecturally impressive, I gather restored from railway arches and industrial warehouses / that some we're converted into nightclubs around the end of last century. A mixed selection of cafe's bars and places to eat, with a diverse range of shops with a slight weight towards fashion :)
j. m.
Fantastic place to visit, different shops and restaurants, cafés. Good for dog owners, families and all, brilliant! 👌
C. P.
Very photogenic place for architecture photography with a great history behind it
A. M.
An unusual mix of high end shops, bars and restaurants. Plus a big Samsung showroom. Worth a wander when you are nearby.
M.
Great place for dinner or just lunch nice selection of shops . Parking good if a bit expensive.
C. B.
Very surprised to see the whole redevelopment, and it's a lot bigger than I expected. We went to El Pastor for dinner which was lovely, great service and food - nothing was a problem.. absolutely hammering it down so didn't get to explore but will definitely return..
A. B.
Really cool place to shop, drink and eat about 10 minutes from St Pancras Station. So many different options and also the possibility to sit outside if the weather permits! There is also an art exhibition in the middle of the square which was beautiful and very interesting!
T. R.
Great area with a ton of great eating. Dinner shops are a bit too boutique and upscale.
S. R.
A great place to spend a lunch hour or to meet friends in the evening. Always something to do/see/hear, and nice food spots nearby.
D. P.
Beautiful and cram location.
A. R.
Stunning architecture. Unbelievable change of the space. It's inspiring just walking around looking at the roof.
Quite a few pop up shops, and that doesn't really help the place feel established yet, but it will come in time.
Nice contrast to the more conservative and corporate feel of Pancas Sq down the road.
Also, you have to marvel at the investment that had gone into St Pancras Station rebuilding, King's X refurb and the whole canal basin development. It's a genuinely interesting area from an architectural perspective, plus some decent bars, restaurants and shops throughout to make a visit more than worthwhile.
E. F.
Love this place, like a cross between a designer shopping outlet and Camden Stables market. Gorgeous spot on the canal, a great variety of independent retailers.
S. D. G.
Beautiful location. Eerily quiet and empty because of Tier 4 restrictions
M. J.
It's for the rich. Should make it an outlets mall. Would be packed out as the redevelopment is excellent.
P. v. d. B.
What a nice area this is becoming. Different shops, lots of food & beverage. Alain Ducasse with a Cafe, The Coal Yard with a nice terrace, even modern public and extremly clean toilets ... just a few minutes away from St. Pancras.
J. E. A. C.
Love it, lovely walk on the canal, great places to eat, I always pop into Cissy Wears and Earl of East
P. B.
Great area for food, drinks, sitting in sun and Lafayette music venue is amazing. Especially when I saw James Arthur here
A. J.
Great space to walk around with lots of food options and plenty or places to sit
R. C.
Great area to visit. Lovely architecture, nice shops, great food and drink, and lovely atmosphere
R. D.
Not been here before but what a gem - plenty of shops, interesting buildings and open spaces. Lots of places to sit and relax as well. Had Sunday brunch at Dishoom which was nice - good food at a reasonable price.
W. H.
Stunning shopping area in Kings Cross, really clever use of old arches and buildings with an imaginative inserted roof.
Shops are all expensive boutiques, worth a scan. Very expensive coffee.
C. R.
Love this place, especially Spring & Summer, Lovely Breeze with relaxing view of Regent Canal. Plus weekend. Canopy Market on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Highly recommended for everyone. For Families, Couples, Singles to Mingles & meeting up place to gave a drink & chat.⭐❤👍
S.
Beautiful new development by Regents Canal leading up to granary square. A number of decent cafes and restaurants as well as shops and a small indoor market adjacent to the art school.
G. C.
Good fun and clean space. Slightly pretentious but still cool. The yard has much to offer. Great markets at the weekend where all sorts of food is available!
M. A.
Quirky place! Great range of independent stores. Quite a few places to eat, but not really a lot of choice for those with a simpler palette.. I found somewhere eventually.
U. P.
Awesome place, near Kings Cross Station. The area around has really been invigorated.
T. I.
Good selection of shops and some nice places to eat also the Samsung store is cool
A. C.
Amazing renovation of an old coal yard into a boutique shopping and culture area. Food and drinking establishments are plenty and children love the fountains on a hot day and they are beautifully lit at night. Recommended!
N. K.
Wow lovely underrated hidden spot for a bit of retail therapy and plenty of food options. Visited in the daytime and I imagine even better at nighttime.
K. _.
Great new development, I especially love The Outsider Store which has well curated outdoor goods and fashion and the store staff are super lovely! Love you guys! Great to see Snow Peak stuff here, hope to see more!
J.
A lovely historic area now populated with small shops and bars on two levels. Good for browsing niche designer clothes and accessories or stopping for a drink or food. As part of a canal tow-path walk it's a good stop off. Worth searching out for its interest or the retail, drinks and dining.
M. P.
Found it soulless and a wind tunnel. Did go in the evening but was really enough to it me off. Maybe would be better in the day when there’s more going on? Not too sure.
L. C.
This yard provides entertainment, shopping, food and drink. It is perfect for visiting during fine weather for al fresco dining and socialising. It is tucked away behind Kings Cross station and is a popular destination for locals. It is unique for the area as there is no spot that is similar in design or vibe. Well worth the visiting for those social vibes.
B. S.
Amazing area for food, hang out with friends, and shopping as well, seating on the river
M. R.
Such a beautiful space with so many places to eat, drink and shop. Reviews follow @thatvegangirlmarsha Instagram

Great place to eat and chill out by the canal
P. H.
Lovely to see some positive redevelopment in Central London and Kings Cross. I'm sure Coal Drops Yards will be brilliant in the summer when it's nice and warm. Worth a visit as it's only a short walk from the station.
E. R.
Very upmarket place to visit. Home if the Classic car boot. High quality stores, vendors and food outlets. Very industrial history connects to the canals and the Victorian age. Well worth a visit.
E. L.
Coal Drops Yard is a new shopping area north of kings cross. I love the style of units but somehow the layout was odd. There is an area with outdoor tables and chairs but no cafes nearby. I guess the destination shop is Samsung but entrance is not that easy to find.
m. a.
Finally good to go back to a food court. I didn't stay long but it was nice to go through the stalls again. I tried a Turkish place who sells this kind of Turkish pancakes filled with spinach and cheese. Really good! Unfortunately I forgot the name of the place
j. g.
Great place to meet up, relax and or do a bit of shopping. Canopy market open over the weekend - gorgeous stalls. Really lovely atmosphere.
T. S.
Awesome place with great location, lots of options to eat and drink.
D. P.
Oustanding! Decor to die for, food nourishing and delicious, staff attentive although I wish every waiter would learn not to interrupt just before the punchline.
T. A.
Lively Fantastic place. Full of shops, restaurants. Very scenic and tranquil by the canal
V. P.
Lovely place where you can shop at ease with plenty of cute independent shops and renowned brands
E. M.
I recommend a visit to Coal Drops Yard, just to see Samsung KX. But leave yourself a couple of hours to wander round the retail stores, grab a coffee, sit by the canal and enjoy everything on offer. I hope to see more interesting brands open up spaces in Coal Drops Yard, to make it a true destination!
R. B.
Beautiful Architecture, but needs more facilities 😊👌
G. C.
It is such a beautiful space. Really doesn't feel like London and it tends to be quieter than other shopping destinations in London. For something different - would recommend visiting!
A. A.
A nice, yet gentrified part of london. There used to be industry and canals here and now you pay £7 for Stella
S. W.
Interesting place to browse small ecclectic shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Great atmosphere and very close to - a few minutes walk - Kings Cross St Pancras. Definitely worth a visit and a browse when you arrive in London.
C. L.
Great place for a coffee and sit down. Some very nice boutique shops
M. C.
Great food in a fantastic setting. I used to walk through this part of London to get to work. It was dangerous and as dodgy as you like. The transformation is simply incredible and the coal office personifies that change.
B. G.
Modern and recent architecture, trendy area
Variety of shops, also nice to have a meal or drinks
Friendly atmosphere and good location (not so crowded as the city center and easily accessible from kings cross station)
There is also a large Waitrose close by
f.
Shopping and eating redevelopment of the old coal distribution yard.
Built in 1850, the historic coal drop buildings were originally used as a coal distribution and storage facility, before becoming warehousing, a nightclub and offices.
M. P.
Fun new place to hang out. Great architecture. Great shops.
D. Y.
If you can’t be bothered to go to the beach come here and have an amazing day out with the family
F. T.
A trendy new place in London, with lots of high end unique shops, fancy restaurants and a great outdoor fountain with lots of benches. Quite a pricey area whether your shopping or just eating out. There was a lovely free outdoor photo exhibition when I went on the history of the Silk Road, which was quite fascinating.
E. C.
Great open area for a walk even now that everything is closed due to Covid.
S. B.
Brilliant place loved it!!
L. R.
My favourite place
D. W.
Well modernized area. Very clean and wide open spaces. Lots of restaurants and bars to try
M. T.
Great new shopping area around the back of Kings Cross. Some cool shops and restaurants. Doesn't seem to get the footfall it should, maybe that will improve with time.
A. S.
Looking for a drink and it's mainly shops and eateries. We did fins somewhere though and great regeneration
C. M.
Amazing redevelopment of a piece of London's industrial history. Gentrified beyond belief, but at least it's still there and secure for the future.
P. E.
Quiet venue opened in 2018, visit the Samsung KX center upstair and try some new tech out, fancy eateries in and around. Lift access to all levels. Get place to stop whilst walking the famous Regent's canal
J. A. M.
Lovely place just a short walk from Kings Cross and St Lancras stations
S. A. S.
Really nice place to hang out and go shopping and grab a coffee
R. S.
Dishoom Cafe bar Kings Cross. Very popular place with decent atmosphere. The menu choices very similar to the Manchester Dishoom just with slightly different house specials. Nice fresh starters and tasty mains washed down with refreshing drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Recommended.
L. M.
The day I went everything was closed, but I didn’t even know that that was there. I was just walking and came upon this. It’s so nice there.
M. G.
A great place to visit, a good variety of shops and restaurants ,a hidden gem in the kings Cross area
C. B.
Incredible food and service! They went above and beyond today! Cannot recommend the restaurant enough!
J.
Cool place if you are after some high-end independent shops. Would like to see some more cafes and affordable restaurants as it is in a very nice area by the river
v. t.
love this place. it worths a visit. a lot of great restaurants, bars, benches for some drinks and the river is nearby for a great walk. Sometimes they have movie nights in the open air. Once you go try coal office and parillan. both super tasty. And if you go to coal office ask to be served by Erica. She is super nice!
M. 1.
Super cool area. Never knew it existed. One to watch as it grows into it's own
G. W.
Lovely new place, plenty of coffee shops and then more expensive shops which are a bit out of my range, but all shops very welcoming for you to browse.
D. H.
Love the regeneration in this area a stone's throw from St Pancras International. The former coal yard is now the coolest trendiest new shopping outlet in North London. A lovely place to stroll and shop or have a drink.
W. Y.
Nice selection of shops and cafes. Filled up nicely over the years.
A. B.
Lovely place to visit, especially in the sun. Open air, by the canal, bars, places to eat, a covered market selling food, clothing, craft items and more. A water area (great for kids), and a lovely atmosphere with music.
A hidden gem two minutes walk from Kings Cross and St. Pancras stations I only heard about because it was on the news.
M. P.
Stylish place, right next to the beautiful canal. Great place for a relaxing drink.
L. H.
Easily a new favourite place of mine.
Decided to walk up from Kings Cross as I usually walk into London from there, and was not dissapointed. A beautiful new development full of open space and community areas, and gave me hope for future developments in London. At the time of going, the weather was great, and seeing people out enjoying themselves added to the atmosphere. Would gladly recommend, and will be brining friends to experience it as well.
K. R.
Relaxing and beautiful space by the canal. Clean. A nice quiet place In a busy city.
S. S.
Great place for a walk and shopping. We played mini golf and enjoyed being outside. Great choices for food and drink. Very nice architecture. Great ice cream places next to the canal and open market and supermarket.
G. T.
Wow....Baggleys has changed. Nice regeneration of this area. Was very spit and sawdust in the 90s but sow it's all coffee shops and art galleries.
T.
What a change to the back of Kings cross
A place id historically venture to but now this place is alive and feels fab
N. S.
This is a great place to enjoy, away from crowds and traffic. An upmarket oasis. Great ambiance, vibe. Happy to take my young daughter and grab a beer in the the sun alike. Looking forward to spending summer evenings here.
M. J.
A beautiful and wonderful place. There are children wear, men's clothes, women’s clothing, perfume, toys and home supplies. A beautiful and large place, and its service is very good. You can also find everything you want and there are some casinos at times.
c. p.
Brilliant . Loved this refurbished area . Lots of good bars and restaurants and a good area to walk around
A. C. C.
Nice place for a walk, with good shops and interesting restaurants.
D. S.
Nice shopping center, cool location, need subway convenience stores, safe area and good prices. Nice place to solve multiple topics at once.
M. A.
The area is going through a transformation. With the new development of Coal Drops Yard, added many stores and food options to Kings Cross & Pancras area. A spot to be for weekenders for sure 👌🏼.
a. n.
It's a nice place to go for a walk and is just a few steps from the canal, so uou can have a walk through the canal down to Camden. It is a bit expensive but it is understandable because of the area is located. Otherwise thimbs up, very nice for a visit
R. B. F.
Quite zone, well organised. Nothing special. I came for Alain ducasse le chocolate.
E. T.
Oh my! Behind King's Cross lies a beautiful selection of restaurants and shops! Well worth investigating, even if just for the teletubby style grass area by the canal as you cross the bridge toward it
H. R.
Really nice clean, new, spacious and cool design. Try sneak a peak at the roof design from the canal. Lots of restaurants bars and cafes. Feels fresh, premium and new but comes with a premium price tag. World's smallest coffee was nice but £3.20. popup market stalls a regular feature
A. M.
This area of London is one of my favourites. They did such a good job in reviving this area of London and I love the great blend of old and new. It’s also always buzzing with people and I hope the whole of the city goes in this direction! Love it!
H. S.
Nicely redevelopped mall with woke stores. Unfortunately it has no soul nor attitude. Exactly what you'd expect when a mall is being embedded between FB and Goggle offices...
M. J.
Really nice area in London, great and unique shops and restaurants
J. B.
Awesome set of unique and quirky shops, bars and restaurants. A hidden bit of London that's really worth exploring
M. G.
A beautiful renovation close to Granary Square. The map to find the restaurant we booked was a little hard to read but we made it. If the weather remains nice and sunny I well definitely go for a walk or to catch some lunch.
G. A.
Amazing development built on top of old railway sidings that would have served a coal yard.
M. D.
Cool place with good choice of restaurants. You can also see different artwork and visual installations.
K. A.
Loving this area!! Especially when the sun is out. You can just chill. Have a coffee or walk along the canal.
S. q.
I love this place, full of joy and life, shops are different and unique, many cafes and restaurants to choose from
D. H.
Great individuals shops and coffee places set on the banks of a canal wonderful.
T. M.
Love the area, looks great, lots of delicious places to eat, brilliant example of regeneration of an area, but Jesus it's hard to get a table anywhere to eat
B. T.
Nice place to visit for a walk around. See-saws added a bit of variety. A series of expensive shops, interesting eateries and a bookshop on a canal boat. Architecture is fascinating.
b. m.
I thought it was lovely and well worth a visit. Great open space with loads of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Easy to get to, just behind King's X and St Pancras would recommend
J. D.
Lovely food - beautiful views. Fun fact coal drop yards shopping centre was defined by Thomas heater wick who also designed the London 2012 Olympic cauldron the new bus for London AND the new google campus at kings cross 🤓
R. J.
Beautiful place to walk around. Very nice buildings and atmosphere.
R. B.
Really nice architecture and designer shops with nice places to eat. Not quite fully built Jan 2019
D.
There are plenty of nice places to eat, even a market on a Saturday. Great place to meet up with friends.
K.
Clean area, went to the market, tasty food and plenty of stalls to buy something from
A. A.
Such a beautiful renovation.
This place is the example that good things can be done!
V. N.
Amazing what they have done with this area. The coal drops yard has amazing shops, restaurants and the best is at the top the Samsung KX with amazing events all the time.
Christmas time also has very pretty trees and decorations all around. Pictures from 2020
J. D.
Easy access, lots of different places to eat and drink catering for all tastes. Fabulous outdoor space full of character and history highly recommend ♥
A. A.
Beyond the lovely architecture, this place has such unique and local feelings shops and food. It’s the polar opposite to normal malls. It’s great to see interesting neighbourhood stalls getting space here, making for an eclectic and fun experience.
S. A.
Kings Cross is beautiful and very busy with lots of choice in terms of restaurant.
A. P. (.
Really cool chill vibe with food, drinks a market, music and lots of other cool stalls. Perfect for a weekend afternoon
M. P.
Very pretty for a nice walk around London. The whole area is quite elegant. The shops are a tad expensive but for visiting this is a nice place
A.
Great and spacious place with a lot of different stores.
P. H.
Kings cross station very busy with no sense of calm but literally 2mins away is this heart of tranquillity and fantastic architecture with class shops and restaurants
M. A.
If you saw kings Cross before coal drops yard you will agree this is the biggest and most unimaginable improvement on the area. However, whilst its is brilliant it does come with a sense of irony about two types of London in the inner city - one brilliantly developed and the other -estates surrounding it.
E. I.
Amazing!! Really gorgeous shops, cozy, friendly and beautiful!
L. N.
Fantastic redevelopment. Very stylish blend of industrial and modern architecture, worth a visit for the buildings alone.
Excellent use of public space with lots of available seating.
The retail is pretty much exclusively high end so it's all far out of my price range!
I did enjoy an incredible coffee from one of the many cafes. Genuinely one of the best coffees of my life. However, a member of staff was being publicly sacked, the atmosphere was pretty tense and I think they charged me £4 for a latte. So, I'm not rushing to go back.
I won't name the venue as I'm sure this is far from usual. (The sacking, not the price or quality of the coffee!) But, again, £4 lattes aren't really for me, either way.
B. P.
Love spending time here, the steps by the canal are such a chilled out vibe. And the fountains are so fun for the kids. Loads of places to eat and drink
A. W.
Modern area to shop, eat and meet friends, lovely open space so close to King's Cross.
M. D.
Clean and recently renovated historical area. A bit sterile, although canal acts as a lovely backdrop and outdoor cinema in the summer is a nice touch.
J. D.
Great outdoor shopping and amazing food just near by
A. A.
Had a great sunny afternoon eating and shopping. Botanical brothers get a shout out for the beautiful Italian terracotta planter we have. They had great plants too.
D. M.
Very nice shops here in lovely canal venue
K. M.
Had never visited before but would come back. Well designed and developed, good mix of interesting, niche retail and places to eat. Could browse for hours.
G. A. (.
Amazing space .. venues .. shops .. cafes and restaurants .. full of life ..!! ❤️
D. D.
Real nice place. Have market where you can go and eat and drink. There is grass part where most people are. There is public toalet in case you need and waitrose. It's close to king kross station. Good place to go out with friends.
G. W.
Very nice. Kids would like it here. Nice canal walk.
L. W.
Lots of niche designer shops. Lots of lovely food and drink stops
C. S.
Loved it! Hidden gem in London with lots of Lovely shops and cafe/ restaurants. Plenty of places to sit and people watch.
P. H.
So much to explore. Lots of food options, coffee, even a vending machine for hemp products.
S. J.
A beautifully maintained space to eat, shop and dine
M. F.
Marvellous place in the heart of London! Lots of nice coffee shops and great place for a walk in a sunny day
P. C.
Designer shops but nothing really captivating. The Samsung shop is really weird. Huge big space but don't see anything for sale or anyone buying anything. Helpful staff for when I needed to book a repair for my old s9
R. M.
Lovely place Kings Cross is coming along with more shops and food🍲 very nice by the canal.
E. S.
Loved the space nice little shops and cafes
R. P.
It's an amazing place to be and to see how the different architectures have dedicated their time in producing something spectacular is splendid to admire.
T. n. G. A.
Lovely old buildings, short stroll from station
O. S.
The new revamped King's Cross is where Coal Drops Yard is located.
The area is a brand new development which has the Canal at its rear and Kings Cross Infront.
It consists of a large number of bars, restaurants, Coffee shops and a galaxy of shops and boutiques selling various merchandise from Artisan food stuffs to Household goods to Clothing and furniture.
It's a great place to wander about just window gazing before finding one of the numerous coffee shops, sandwich bars, bakeries, restaurants or bars to get something to eat and relax.
The range of outlets is quite large so there is something for everyone.
It's a very vibrant area with lots of wide open spaces and outdoor seating areas and with the canal too provides a great place for chilling and a lovely backdrop for those pictures.
A great place for a date or shopping with friends before visiting a restaurant and then heading to a bar.
It is well worth a visit.

Randomly went here after a morning at Everyman cinema and found it quite lovely. Shops were empty but it was modern and fun to look around while it’s quiet. I can imagine in non covid times it would be so fun. I’ll be back soon as I love some of the shops there. Really good mix!

Now shops are open it is such a stylish place, beautiful lighting, wonderful atmosphere, glorious architecture (the Samsung building is a moustachioed wonder!) & food options for days. Never get tired of discovering new places to sit & perch. Could also be a great spot for a photoshoot as it has infinite possibilities.

This area of London is one of my favourites. They did such a good job in reviving this area of London and I love the great blend of old and new. It’s also always buzzing with people and I hope the whole of the city goes in this direction! Love it!

12 months since last year and this area just gets better. Beautiful part of London
B. W.
Absolutely love this relatively new addition to London and the King's Cross area. The area is very new but feels like it has been there forever. It's all been done up very well. The architecture and integration is done brilliantly.
There is a great variety of shops, but all at the higher/upscale end. They often host new and interactive installations. Together with Canopy market and Granary square this makes for a good half day or few hours out.
Also very lovely to come for a drink or food, whether it's sunny or raining.
