Reviews of Hay's Galleria
J. H.
Ideally situated outside London Bridge Station by the riverbank side. With coffee shops, pop up stalls and retail shops. Nice place to sit down with friends and catching up. Spectacular views at night especially this Christmas season. Highly recommended to visit.
D. P.
Hay's Galleria is a beautiful spot at walking distance from the tower bridge. There's plenty of restaurants to pick from surrounded by beautiful lights. The decorations are really nice and are worth a visit while you are in the area. There's a couple food trucks in the outside as well which could be useful for a quick snack if you are hungry.

We stumbled across this place one evening whilst walking up the South Bank. Even in October, there was a wonderful festive feel that drew us in. Ordering drinks was different. Sit at a table, scan the QR code, choose from the menu that appears on your phone and pay via your phone. The staff then bring your order to your table. No queuing - brilliant!
M. R.
Great to see this historic wharf restored and repurposed so tastefully.
K. S.
Great gallery off the river. Nice places to eat but also a great piece of art work in the middle.
J. M. M.
There was a 'Summer River' event held for a period when we visited yesterday with food/drink pop-ups which made the area lively. I'd imagine this would be very crowded if not for the pandemic. The covered bar area in the middle made for a perfect break from a walk along the river.
J. C.
Great place to stop for a bite to eat or a cup of coffee and more. Feels roomy inside and wasn't busy when we visited late morning.
U. E.
Nice place to visit. Indoors yet feel the outdoors. At the door step of Tower Bridge and London Bridge. Beautiful lighting during the night, feel a tad romantic. Great place
M. U.
Fabulous place, gives holiday vibes, service is great and friendly, atmosphere is superb walk of from Tower Bridge lots to see and experience.
M. C.
Very beautifully decorated for the festive season. A big, bright Christmas tree is situated in the centre of the place amd there are a few stalls selling carefully chosen items, ideal as presents.
D. B.
Beautiful relaxing place on the river bank not far from the city Pier, the museum ship and Tower bridge! A sight to behold!
G. E.
Lovely nice little coffee areas and small market stalls..
v. t.
Pretty place for walk along the river and but some side stuff
P. S.
Amazing sandwiches and salads, such huge portions. Beautiful and delicious cakes, lovely coffee and very friendly staff. Great place for lunch with friends. Very nice decor and atmosphere.
a. C.
Lots of places to eat, nice beach bar at moment, no public toilets
M. B.
Great place with a good variety of shops, cafés, bars and food. Lovely atmosphere 👌🏼 😍
S. L.
An extremely vibrant and colourful place especially during the Festive season, especially during Christmas!
Quite near from the London Bridge Station.
Food and Beverages have a lot of variety but on a slightly expensive side.
J. B.
Great place to shelter from the rain or sun with lots of cafes under a cathedral-like roof. Interesting mechanical arty ship. Visit Cinq Sandwiches for refreshments!
L. B.
An almost hidden galleria opposite London bridge station, more than just a cut through to get to visit HMS Belfast, it is worth a visit in it's own right, the bronze steam punk water powered ship is always a delight to see, the galleria has many good places to eat and drink, I of course head to one of my favourite Costa coffee shops, always a warm welcome from the manager who will stop and chat and make it more than just another coffee shop, once rested you can marvel at the magnificent HMS Belfast, if you get in the right position you can get a photo of the ship with a backdrop of either the tower of London or tower bridge, follow the embankment east, past the London assembly building, the gherkin shaped building and onto shad Thames, a little known place in the shadow of tower bridge, if you retrace your steps, you pass back through Hays galleria and turn left and visit borough market and Pass through to the embankment on that side, there beholds a replica of the golden hind, the globe theatre and the Tate modern gallery, cross the millennium bridge and you can visit Saint Paul's cathedral.and head up to the museum of London.
B. U.
The Galleria had a small Christmas Market inside it with stalls and carols. Interestingly, it also has what looks like a sinking ship statue inside. There are restaurants and shops that line the edges of the galleria. You can also traverse it to get to and from Southbank and the London Bridge Station. I thought it was quite a nice stop but don't think it would be as nice without the market.
A. D.
I love this place, just passing through from the river to London Bridge Station is usually quite peaceful and the fountain in the middle is amazing.
Loads of stalls at Christmas.
T. J.
Nice little spot to chill, have some food, enjoy some art or do a bit of shopping close to London Bridge. Enjoy a cool walk down to Tower bridge after passing the HMS Belfast and the new City Hall.
R. D.
Nice modern area. Some nice places to have a drink and eat. Your friends would be impressed if you took them there on your visits.
t. B.
Lovely place for a walk, little shopping, dining.Specially now it does look amazing!
M. C.
Interesting place to sit and eat, good choice of food. Simply grab any available table and use the QR codes printed on it to order food and drink.
I. B.
Beautiful view on the river from outside tables, very nice food and very friendly staff. I had a great lunch there
M.
Thank you so much to the security guard who helped me and my son when there were no disabled toilets avaliable today. So polite and kind 😌
Good selection of shops and restaurants too
M. P.
Always amazed when I see the Galleria, it is difficult to imagine, with the lovely shops and restaurants, and the feel good factor, that this was once a wharf where tea clippers were unloaded
There is an amazing piece of artwork there, not certain what it represents, nonetheless it enhances the area
Visit to admire, even if you do not buy anything
S. B.
Nicely decorated for Christmas and a choir singing carols on our visit with a Christmas Market on the river walk right outside. What's not to like at this time of year?
R. N.
Stunning place. Really beautiful and historical. The glass roof makes the space weather proof. You can dine al fresco even when it rains. Opposite London Bridge station. Convenient and cosy.
J. H.
Beautiful spot lots of great photo opp and places to lunch. We had a picnic on artificial grass surrounded by a white picket fence. The market stalls were exciting and had reasonable prices items. After eating and exploring the area. We followed the Thames to the scoop.
R. A.
Part of a huge mkt area underneath many railway arches fresh food many takeaway food stalls wonderful atmosphere and part of Guy Richies lock stock and two smoking barrels was filmed close by
C. E.
Shops and cafes right by the river. Used to be tea wharf I believe. Great that is kept close to its original during renovation. Gateway to train station and tube.
S. M.
Always Love traveling through here over Christmas...
Z.
I love this place. It forms a part of our usual walks along the Thames path. We like to buy something to drink from Costa, and relax for a bit. The kids love running around the iron ship artwork installed in the middle. We use the boots branch here to click and collect necessities.
A. R.
I start loving this place when I visited first time in 1999 due to the features open and wideness of this place with old and modern combination of decoration fascinate me not only you can cone here to buy things but featured are very nice lovely outdoor cafe and display of old ships and marines items make it more attractive sooner you step out you can find a tower bridge on left hand side snd this picture was captured when Bridge was open for heavy water traffic you can go with family kids love this place as they have lot of interesting things to do if you like history then this place attracts you as you can found many historic items and display in this building if you’re to shop there are bu r stores if you are hungry and want to eat then you can find nice restaurants if you like socialising then you can find decent bars this place accomodste almost person from every age and walk of life good place for your small business meeting or you can invite your friends to spend quality time with open and clean atmosphere which rare in London the pictures I am displaying are not all from inside of this place but I only found one with children sitting in front of Warcraft that is inside of Hay’s Galleria others are taken sooner you come out on River Thames walk when you visit London must go to this place and walk through past and present
H. I.

M. A. (.
Really nice place before the river
A. L.
Really nice little area. Very short walk from London Bridge station. Restaurants, stalls and close to tourist attractions.
M. M.
A pleasant place to visit as it is close to HMS Belfast so you can visit both in one day.
A warning to wheelchair and mobility scooter users:
Hay's Galleria does not have accessible toilets.
S. T.
Nice cozy place to spend some time with family and friends.
Christmas decorations are so alluring here.
A. B.
Best time to visit is during December when there is wonderful big Christmas tree and stalls .Kids really enjoyed it
M. J.
Stopped in to listen to a Christmas carol service. It was so much fun. They are meant to be having one ext weekend also.
b. b.
Cool building but not the best mix of shops still worth a visit👍 cool view of the shed from the entrance.
H. T.
Called in today while having a walk down the side of the Thames.lmpressive area undercover and live music playing.
B. K.
Beautiful and tidy place, especially I go there because of the sculpture, so I can't say anything from the shops and cafes.
A. B.
This was a fun find. We were walking along the Thames river and came across this huge cute enclosed space. Shops, food, seating, statues, and a fountain. Plus a wonderful over head glass metal artistic roof allowing light while keeping it nicely enclosed. Seems to be in the middle of other nice places and a beautiful view out over the river.
S. O.
It's been around for a long time but it fits into the new upgraded locale. I love Hays Galleria.
M. C.
A great spot to chill out, numerous places to eat and drink. Short walk to HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge from here.
C. L.
A shopping experience in the heart of London where the location offers more variety than the collection of interesting shops. Come here for the photographic experience like no other shopping experience.
A. P.
Always beautiful and a must see when exploring around London bridge and the Thames embankment up to Tower bridge. Just a few minutes walk from London bridge station. A few good eateries and pubs, plus specialty stalls/wagons and there are public toilets at the bottom of the stairwell at the end away from the Thames by the red phone boxes..press an intercom for security to open the door.
There's also a Boots pharmacy nesr.there too.
A. B. -. B. P. E.
One of must seen by anyone who lives in London. The architecture is breathtaking with so many interesting restaurants inside.
X. S.
That's a really nice place with plenty of restaurants and shops. It is by the Thames river very close to The Shard and Tower Bridge (Southwark Borough).
J. O.
Quaint spot for brunches and lunches al fresco style. A selection of cafes, restaurants and shops away from the busy London Bridge craze. It’s peaceful, the odd occasional singers, it’s shaded and lovely. It sort of reminds me of a smaller and less luxurious version of galleria vittorio emanuele in Milan
C. H.
Pretty place, good atmosphere. Prices understandably high given the location
C. S.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Called in here for coffee while deciding where to visit next. Average priced drinks and snacks. Large number of shops but in a really beautifully designed area. Highly recommend for a 'time out' from the hustle and bustle.
L. T.
Lovely place with a good variety of shops, cafes and food. Great atmosphere.
L. B.
Visited before Christmas. Near the market. Christmas performance outside. Trees nicely decorated
L. G.
Interesting architecture and art, its beautiful, not the first time there,
Worth a visit, fountain with statue in side if beautiful.
J. B.
Love it here so close to mainline and tubes. Some super restaurants and a lot to see
j. v.
A nice place to visit on your way to Tower Bridge.the place looks nice with beautiful decorations and a lot of restaurants to pick from.they have a terrace at the entrance and behind the terrace there is a beautiful ship.i feel like the terrace somehow obstructs the view of the ship a bit,but it seemed like people enjoyed the terrace and didn't minded the fact that you can't see the ship unless you pass the terrace first.
B. C.
Good place to stop for a drink and a bite to eat and quite reasonably priced.
M. “. O.
Shame all the atmosphere has gone. Hardly any shops left, hopefully there's plans to put more.
E. K.
Great service & speedy delivery of food orders. Food can be purchased from various vendors in the Galleria, which makes it the perfect place for groups.
V. L.
Hays remains a hustling, bustling gateway to the river. Despite the plethora of chains, there are a few hidden gems to be found within so it's worth exploring.
Stay away from the chains and find the undiscovered joys in the local cafes and bookshops. These will bring you far more pleasure than the big standard product and service of the standard high street offerings.
M. M.
Delicious and bucolic place to spend the afternoon, have a coffee oh even have a meal. Really very nice.
S. G.
Perfect for cute independent stalls and coffee or to look over the river. Beautiful settings for Christmas
J. B.

Great views of the city, be sure to take a camera. Good places to eat and grab a bite. There's a few market stalls selling quality goods, not your usual tourist tat!
Z. S.
A very interesting shopping centre worth visiting especially little kids the will love the sand pit and the ship.
B. N.
It's a nice area with eateries and pubs. Has view on the Thames and there are benches where you could sit and enjoy some food or drinks with pals. Very close to the London Bridge station so it's convenient. On a sunny day this place is superb.
M. C.
Love Hays Galleria, it's nice, peaceful and situated just by Tooley Street. There's a positive atmosphere mixed with working people & tourists with a mini market and small shops not to mention a few historical items also listed here. Perfect for a little Riverside walk .
J. V.
A great experience!

Visited today was disappointed by the lack of retail .The only shop left is Boots . Most other shops have moved into London Bridge Station . If you like lots of coffee shops then it's great .
The boat sculpture in the middle is interesting.

Hay's Galleria is a nice place to visit while walking along the Thames in Southwark. This is a redevelopment of the historic Hay's Wharf, which makes a nice place to browse or stop for a coffee or wine before moving onward with your walk along the Thames.
Hay's Galleria was originally known as Hay's Wharf, an important historic warehouse serving the port of London. During the 19th century, this was a chief delivery point for ships bringing tea to London.
Unfortunately, the wharf suffered badly from bombing damage during WWII and never fully recovered afterwards as the shipping industry shifted elsewhere during post-war decades. The wharf finally closed down in the 1970s before being redeveloped into Hay's Galleria a decade later.
Today, you can find office space, a few casual restaurants and shops in the covered galleria area. Towards the back there is a Christmas Shop that has decent seasonal decorations. However, the most interesting thing at Hay's Galleria is probably the intriguing sculpture called The Navigators, designed by David Kemp (1987).
Overall, we enjoy stopping by Hay's Galleria from time to time, its worth a 10-15 minute detour if you are intending to spend time in this area of Southwark.
S. J.
Lovely drinks, order the slushy well worth the money, great staff and rapid service.

Nice place to sit, have a coffee and watch people go by.
M. T.
Building is beautiful. There are several pubs near the place.
R. A.
We stumbled upon this place as we were walking around wasting time and we weren't disappointed, it's quite posh really, a semi inclosed area, lots of shops, restaurants, bars and so on, with a great sculpture/fountain, this is another hidden gem sandwiched between the hotels by the river.
N.

B. d. S.
It is a Gorgeous place: great architecture project and nice restaurants. Certainly a good venue to contemplate the Thamis River.
M. T. D.
Need a cold one on the river. Nice location and they've adapted to the new rules well since it still retains atmosphere. Though I do think the drinks are pricey and the food we had was bland and since they can't give out salt and pepper shakers cause of covid sort of stuck with it. But swing by if you need a nice spot in the sun
L. F.
X
Great friendly staff and beer . Prices a bit steep
L. P.
Amazing place when full of small stands, which means a lot more people walking by.
Right now, a good place to rest whilst walking on the queen's walk

Worth a visit just to see the Galleria, and has one of the best views of The City. Close to HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge.

Nice pub with outside seating area overlooking the Thames.
D. C.
It looked very festive. Mostly closed when we passed through.
C. T. J.
Wide open underscored especially beautiful place exiting onto the Thames with a knockout view of Three Major London landmarks.
Get there if you can but do not worry it's not going anywhere soon.
S. J.
Building up after Covid to an even better place to visit. Hope the empty shops fill up to make it a perfect experience.
A. A.
Amazing place. I suggest you to go at night, it's less crowded.
H. J.
Lovely open market. Very pretty during winter time. Big selection of handcrafted products. A must around the area. It's very close to Tate museum. Prices according the location. You could enjoy live music and was great. Smoking it's not allowed inside the galleria.
N. T.
Spectacularly decorated social place, with amazing river view, pubs, cafes and restaurants.
J. B.
We love it here, it's a delightful area of the Thames, shops, stalls and restaurants with interesting things to see.
g. k.
Didn't even about it and will go back many times more
M. D.
Went for family walk. Lovely time.
S. W.
It was cold and it was raining and almost everywhere was closed (since our crazy prime minister decided to move everyone to tier 4 and shut down most of London). As its covered it seemed a nice place to get some food (costa coffee), dry with a big breeze to blow the virus away. It wasn't to busy, so I felt safe.
I gave been here pre covid and it's a nice place. Maybe one day after the government has finally killed off the economy we can return to normal times.
D. M. G.
I love this place. I hope that the Christmas stalls are back this year.
M. G.
Plenty of eating options with the large curiosity in the centre. Well placed by the bank of Thames.
J. D.
Lovely place to visit for a drink or two
J. L.
Great place to set and have a coffee
C. E.
We stumbled across this place one evening whilst walking up the South Bank. Even in October, there was a wonderful festive feel that drew us in. Ordering drinks was different. Lovely pubs with river views
נ. ב.
Beautiful and stylish place, excellent opportunity to take cover from the rain and rest
S. M.
Found a very nice cocktail bar inside the Galleria facing out on to the Thames
Well priced good drinks for outlets inside as well
C. B.
Nice place under cover to sit and relax with a coffee, on your walk along the Thames.
L. Y.
Nice atmosphere and not crowded. Enjoyed being able to.walk round and get a coffee without feeling compromised re covid.
M. R.
I love this place. it's just magic. As soon as you get in you got that kind o feel good sensation especially during Christmas time with all the lights, the sounds...And as soon as you get to the side of the river at the end of the gallery you have a beautiful spot of London buildings and towers. It's one of the place that I always recommend to my friends to visit when they come to London.
M. L.
Very pretty views in the evenings, great access to the river side path towards Tower Bridge along the south side of the river.
D. K.
Most retail shops still closed. Mainly food outlets open. Great re-use of old building
D. H.
Beautiful space with some lovely stores & eateries.
w. h.
Great place to visit for young and older people. Quite a few shops and restaurants. Lovely architecture. You also get a great view of the Thames from the end of it. The huge robotic boat in the middle will keep you entertained for a while. Well worth a visit.
J. M.
A very nice property. It's very clean and you can find cafes and little shops here. It's nice to sit down here after visiting the London bridge or the towers. In the center of the gallery there's a huge steam ship or something like that. It looks amazing. If you come by this place make sure to make a stop and enjoy some coffee or tea.
R. L.
It's very nice cinematic location surrounded by cute little shops and cafes. Gallery is having a art master piece of a kind of ship and also have shed so if you are there saved from rain and snow. Also here use to be nice decoration during the festival times. As it is located near to London bridge view of Thames bank is awesome. Overall a nice place to hangout with friends.
M. O.
Very clean and modern, couple of cafes and bars and a few small market stalls, but quite pricey, that's central London I guess
n. n.
It was heavy rain outside and we were looking for a shelter... we came across this beautiful place. It wasnt that crazy busy, i think just because of weather. Lady was singing songs at the back. We have stopped and admired the view, music and some cup of hot chocolate.
A. T.
Well established visitor attraction just south of the Thames within easy walking distance of London Bridge station. Has a branch of Costa and a few other eating places. Very market style feel in the courtyard area surrounding the dry dock. Not my style of shopping which is why I gave only three stars.
N. B.
This place was so alive after work hours. Check it out if your looking for s good place to drink!
J. W.
Well maintained property, clean and with tastefully decorated shops. Great for Christmas shopping. Lovely coffee places and pubs if you need to take a break. Kids loved the mall exhibits and the airy environment. Will bring our overseas visitors there next week
Z. U.
Happening place right in the center of iconic bridges, London bridge and tower bridge. Variety of outlets for food lovers and yes costa is also there.
M. S.
Great environment through Christmas times
J. D.
I've been to this cafe several times and get more frustrated each time. I'll probably give it a miss from now on. Too few staff on a fairly busy weekday lunchtime. Pleasant enough but we had to specifically ask for the "express menu" which is limited but basically throws in a free soft drink with your main. We weren't offered this menu. 2 margarita pizzas took 45 minutes, partly because ours were given to a different table and we had to wait for fresh ones. The waitress apologised, fair enough, but an odd mistake to make and no discount, drink by way of apology. Just all a bit disappointing. Could be a really nice place, maybe one last chance in a few months.
S. S.
Lots of places to eat and drink, whilst enjoying a wonderful view.
P. T.
Always enjoy a visit to Hay's Galleria to see the Navigator and enjoy a coffee. Great views of the river and city too.
P. B.
A great space along the Southbank to sit and enjoy. Plenty of options for food and drink.
P. C.
One of the nicest gallerias I've been to.
S. C.
Lively little place by the Thames with cafés and shops dotted along. Close to London Bridge Station.
C. F.
Lovely little galley a stone's throw away from London Bridge boasting a wide variety of shops and shelter from rainy London. It is a gorgeous piece of architecture that boasts a large naval sculpture in the middle. Make sure you visit the year round Christmas shop as it is a highlight!
D. D.
This is such a remarkable little parade of shops. The history surrounds you and the architecture dwarfs you. Even the curious art work in the centre has its roots in the history of the Galleria. The buildings have been lovingly restored to their former glory but with a modern touch. This is one of London's little treasures as far as I'm concerned so most definitely worth a visit.
D. R.
Fab place - steeped in history
G. J.
It's certainly better than the previous wasteland but it's really for well heeled tourists. Pleasant but underwhelming, some good mid priced restaurants, not much to it really.
R. S.
Not too busy and a good place to shelter from the rain with a coffee, though if it's windy you may still get wet!
A. A.
Nice place. Boots is in this building. #AngeReview
H. S.
A wonderful place to hangout and have some bites along with their special coffees. A great place to shop around.
J. M.
Love this space, great bagel stall here and the bar serves fish & chips. Inside offices overlook a small square where you will find Accessorize, Next, theatre ticket office and a couple of restaurants. There used to be an endearing Christmas decor shop there but it's gone now. The HMS Belfast is just outside and you can walk up to More London and Tower Bridge from here.
T. A.
A lovely little spot I only found out about very recently. Nice a cosy with a couple of coffee shops, shops and places to get a quick bite to eat. Nice view out of the front with a weird but cool pirate ship sort of statue in the middle. Looking forward to going back!
K. F.
Absolutely beautiful spot. There is a huge water statue, strings of lights, vendors, and stores all around. I just stopped here to eat a packed lunch and people watch, but I enjoyed it very much. Catch the sunset over the Thames on the benches just outside!
A. R.
Covered shopping and eating venue right on the river. Hard to rate and review. Decent range of cafes and restaurants. A small selection of shops. The canopy is attractive and practical - it keeps the rain off. Not much more to say.
A.
Amazing place with the beautiful Christmas displays and lights.
J. R.
Hay's Galleria is a lovely place very atmospheric and when there's entertainment even more lovely...
E. K.
Had an amazing event here in the private room, fantastic service and value set menu, Geri was super with the booking . The staff couldn't have been more accommodating for our dietary requirement. We will be revisiting for Christmas again this year
A. C.
Worth going, very London, right alongside the Thames.
G. H.
Nice space, clean bright and some great shops and places to eat. So convenient to London Bridge.
S. A.
A nice and calm victoriana style space to shop and eat!!
Place is filled with nice coffee shops and eateries!
C. C.
Christmas decoration helping people to celebrate
a. z.
Beautiful place with shopping and food. However, the place in between the shops is not indoor (though there are a roof), which is great. It gives a different atmosphere to the place. The buildings are also a delight to see. It's also very close to the London bridge station.
R. A.
This is a nice little oasis of calm right by the river. Plenty of cafes to grab a coffee or a bite but I like to just cut through and see one of my favourite sculptures - The Navigators by David Kemp, it is worth waiting around for it to start its movement.
K. F.
There is a small Next here and a small Boots. There are also a few coffee shops. In the summer there are usually a few little market stalls here too. Hay's Galleria is a covered area so nice place to avoid wet weather. Very busy in summer!
C. B.
An easy cut through from London Bridge station to the river but, unfortunately, several shops and stalls have closed. Costa and a couple of eating/drinking places are still there.
b. s.
Good central location worth while a visit good place for small shops and pubs
L.
Its a wonderful place for everyone but brings nostalgic memories to the yesteryear youngsters.. the generation who remember the big ship ' the Belfast' that led the D day March. And for those who witnessed the London pool and tea clippers who made their way straight to the docks at river Thames!. Even today the river is the silent witness of all the hustle bustle of the loading and unloading of workers and tea clippers. The London bridge and the Thames are two inseperable themes of London history and geography, spreading the Christmas msg all over. A beautiful feast to the eye. And the Shad! Changing colours and prevailing moods. I love the place. I would love to visit once again before I leave for India.
P. T. L. S. c.
Love the place but in my most recent visit everything was closed hopefully shops reopen soon.
R. B.
Lovely atmosphere, food and coffee great
K. C.
A modern open, indoor shopping arcade with loads of space. Strange space really with only three or four market stalles and only a few well known shops like Next, Accessorize, and Boots on the perimeter. A few resteraunts like Cafe Rouge. Nice area to visit, but nothing to keep you there for too long. Best to keep walking to Borough Market which has much more character. Sorry Hay's Gallery.
J. G.
A must visit in London, very nice area.
A. M.
Beautiful place and great atmosphere.
A. E.
Not a huge amount of shop's, but nice to walk around
R. H.
An old wharf that has been transformed into a small shopping area with eateries....probably not the place for a destination visit but a great spot tp pass through. In summer you will often see office workers playing boules, in a centre area, during their lunch break and there are often some great temporary stalls with a market feel
L. H.
Beautiful place to do a little shopping and looking around! It has a lovely water fountain in the middle, don’t expect lots of shops but nice for a nose around. I haven’t tried out the cafes but there are plenty inside!
R.
Nice place to have a rest have a coffee after a long walk along the tower bridge.
C. C.
A pleasant place to go, with the most amazing shoe shop ever! Plus an all round Christmas shop. Otherwise, the other shops are scanty (a very small Next for instance and a book shop) but here are a few chain coffee places and you are so near the Thames that it makes for a lovely atmosphere
E. R. M.
Great location, beautiful architecture, lovely place to have a coffee or lunch. Would be good if the eating places here were open later during the summer months add it's a beautiful place to enjoy the river from.
M.
Fun little place with several shops
K. N.
Cute little arcade in London Bridge. On the outside, Hay's Galleria is lined with cute boutique stores, cafes, bars and restaurants. It really lights up during the festive period when the Christmas Market sets up shop. You can tell that this was once an important dock for imports coming into London and I'm glad the proprietors have kept that historic vibe. Great place to stop for food and drinks while you stroll along the Thames.
A. R.
A good one for an eve chill out
R. R.
Nice spot for drinks near the river and London bridge
C. C.
Four stars for the location. The shops are what you might expect. There were Morris Dancers when we visited which was excellent and the galleria is a tremendous venue for that sort of thing. Hopefully it's regular. I quite liked the big statue.
M. K.
Beautiful place for tasty tasty and hot food and chilled beer and wine etc. Very big hall where a large number of customers can sit and enjoy their food. All types of vegitarion and non vegitarion meals are available here. Salad is the most preferred item for everyone visiting this place. Customer love to spend more and more time here for their enjoyment and loveable food and beautiful tasty hot and cold drinks. Staff is very very cooperative and customer friendly. Customers love to visit this place again and again.
F. C.
Beautiful relaxing place near by riverside. Be back soon.

Hay's Galleria is named after its original owner, the merchant Alexander Hay, who acquired the property – then a brewhouse – in 1651. In around 1840 John Humphrey Jnr acquired a lease on the property. He asked William Cubitt (who was father-in-law to two of Humphrey's sons) to convert it into a 'wharf', in fact an enclosed dock, in 1856 and it was renamed Hay's Wharf.
During the nineteenth century, the wharf was one of the chief delivery points for ships bringing tea to the Pool of London. At its height, 80% of the dry produce imported to London passed through the wharf, and on this account the wharf was nicknamed 'the Larder of London'. The wharf was largely rebuilt following the Great Fire of Southwark in June 1861 and then continued in use for nearly a century until it was badly bombed in September 1940 during the Second World War. The progressive adoption of containerisation during the 1960s led to the shipping industry moving to deep water ports further down the Thames and the subsequent closure of Hay's Wharf in 1970.
In the1980s was redevelopment and after its completion and opening in 1987...
M. R. a.
Nice place to enjoy the view!
R. j.
Very cosy place and one can enjoy a peaceful cup of tea or coffee whilst enjoying the breeze from river Thames.
A. A.
cool place , good food , service needs attention but very good overall
R. P.
Excellent place to grab some food or sit and watch the world go by. As its all under cover even great on a rainy day. Bright and airy so it still feels like you are completely outside. Bring some boules with you for a quick game in the area provided
M. P.
Nice place to take a break while walking along the Thames. A lot of cafés and little boutiques with very interesting stuff. I like it at night when it's quiet and calm, with just the sound of water. I recommend!
C. E.
Nice area with Wine Bar. Restaurants and a Pub.
Very closer to the river
M. R.
I only went in the evening, to view the Christmas decorations which are five star but cannot comment about the shops or eateries there.
D. G.
Nice Christmas stalls and Tree.
n. m.
Pretty useful shopping centre and a pub next to London bridge station
H. G.
A lovely place for a drink and a good place to see the view of the city. It’s right next to London Bridge station and now it’s been expanded is even easier to access. Love walking along the front by hays galleria as well
M.
Nice covered area with a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants. Prices are on the high side, especially the bars but the quality is generally high. A nice place to go during the day in your lunch break or for after work drinks.
W. C.
It's nice when the weather is warm, otherwise it gets a bit windy from the river. A reasonable array of shops, but this place is more focused on food and drink. The Hornimann pub is good.
M. H.
Very nice meeting place . Use it most days just having coffee
D. B.
Just 5 minutes to walk from Hay's Galleria this beautiful view
D. F.
Hays Galleria came across as unique because it was not your typical 'Oxford Street' (busy with 100's of people walking around).
Here, it seems like you can enjoy a quiet meal at a restaurant and purchase something expensive from stores that sell items with name brands.
Therefore, well done!
J. B.
Nice space
P. S.
I quite like Hays Galleria. It's an interesting little area a short walk from London Bridge that will often crop up on any walk along the Thames towards Southbank. There's some nice gift shops, a few restaurants and some outside spaces to drink coffee under the large glass roof.
A. C.
A great place for shopping with a wide range of places to visit. We were here for the finish line of the annual CRY Bridges Walk which was a nice place to finish as there were plenty of amenities close by and generally a nice atmosphere. Overall I would recommend visiting here especially as it is within short walking distance of central London.
D. B.
A nice place to hang out on a wet day due to large glass sheltered area. There are a few places to go for drinks. Finding your way out at closing time is a little tricky but there is a way out, you won't have gotten locked in.
A. S.
The Hay's Galleria is a wonderful especially centre with selective food and other outlets. It was built as the first phase of regeneration of the Thsmes riverside and the Docklands in the 1980s. Excellent conservation of old buildings. An excellent meeting place with beautiful views of London.
M. B.
Nice shopping place, along the river in London. Lots of shops and cafes and restaurants. Is near the train station of London bridge. There is seating , for the cafes and restaurants also if you just want 5 minutes rest. From here you can start your walk along the river. It's also a good photo stop place and near to HMS Belfast ship which is park a minute walk away.
J. S.
A good place to shelter from the rain if you’re caught out and about by the side of the river. Plenty of shops and cafes to grab a bite to eat in, although as with most of central London, they’re all fairly expensive. There are often market stalls to browse, and there’s an interesting sculpture in the middle.
M. A. W. V.
This spot is another little gem found in London. It has that wonderful combination of old and new that I find enchanting. It feels open with it high metal posts supporting a glass roof. Plenty of coffeshops, restaurants and shops surrounding a beautiful water fountain by David Kemp called 'The Navigators'. All of this is next to the Thames. A lovely place to discover.
M. M.
Genuinely fabulous London historical architecture. Lined with offices and restaurants on a south side Thames setting with the best view of London. Everyone everywhere should visit the hays and have a drink to celebrate this fine City
K. S.
We love visiting this place,
A. H.
Love this building right on the river, a few of shops, pubs and restaurants and a few market type stalls, its kind of indoors and outdoors covered roof so you can sit outside even now in autumn and it's not.too cold
R. D.
Al fresco dining available but with a fully covered roof. A few shops, a bar, and live music on this visit (but not always there). Stop here for lunch as you walk along the south bank of the Thames.
C. E.
Friendly staff, well organised, some heated seating areas was a nice touch
D. H.
Small market stalls, nice pubs/cafes/restaurants. Also sometimes has pop up food trucks nearby depending on the time of year!
A.
Nice view
b. b.
Food is absolutely amazing and the staff omg the are incredible
Nasser thank for your service 👏
K. B.
Used to be buzzing but is a little subdued now
M. S.
Nice Riverside setting for Cafe Piazza and some great little stalls including wonderful leather goods from Adam Dede(?)
C. C.
Just had a walk about very beautiful day and lovely area just by the river just peace full and very quiet
V. R.
Really nice, with the ship in the middle of the gallery
A place to make a break (to have a coffe or lunch)
Just along the Queen"s walk along the Thames after visiting tower hill, tower bridge beside the City Hall : take a moment quietly before going into Southwark
H. W.
Lovely airy gallery of small shops, stalls and cafes. Good place to mooch around or have s coffee away from the bustle of the nearby streets and the riverbank.
G. D. (.
Very picturesque place containing shops and stalls of various different crafts. I visited here to go to a French restaurant. It contains various places to eat alongside the River Thames with fantastic views.
N. S.
Good spot by the river with a few shops and cafes to relax. The ship statue in the middle is great for photos and during summer there are games played outside of Balls Brothers
G. M.
One of the most beautiful places to have a meal in London. Fantastic natural lighting and a view of the Thames whilst remaining protected from the elements.
An easy short cut from London Bridge Station and Tooley St through to the riverside walk and Tower Bridge
A. B.
We went here to eat something, when there was the final of the champion League, and the place was very crowded, the battle bridge, was very nice and we spend a good time there. The pub messed up our order, and we didn't get what we want it, but they offer us a free drink to aplogize.
J. T.
Awesome free indoor space if you've a larger group trying to get out of the rain, and several lunch options, though on the mid price range (eg £10 for sandwich and salad with sit down)
S. C.
Covered former dock with a mix of shops, restaurants and even a pub. Not worth a visit in its own right, but good if you are in the area. Fascinating moving statue and relaxed atmosphere
A. K.
Lovely place to just sit and grab some food :)
M. H.
Nice Centre with some good shops and nice bars and restaurants, the place is bright and airy with plenty of room and doesn't feel closed in. Good views of the river Thames looking across towards the walkie talkie building and HMS Belfast to the right. Cote Brassiere has outside seating and is a regular place to eat for us in London when visiting. Also theres a Browns Brothers wine Bar and the Hornimans pub which are great, and always visit when going home via London Bridge station, only a 2 minute walk away.
Z. A.
A small bazar by the beautiful london river Thames. If you are already on the bank and taking a walk alongside then it’s on your way, visit in, there’s a nice sculpture as well. There are small shops stalls good to buy small stones and handmade items.
M. K.
A very romantic and cozy former storehouse converted into a boutique with pleasant cafeterias and small gif shops. The East side comprises of apartments if you want to rent one on a long term basis. A magnificent fountain closer to the Thames exit is double joy when the water is running. Feels even better on the sunny days.
Z. I.
Good shopping and eating place, with a beautiful view of the River Thames.
C. G.
Some cafes are now open and independent stalls dotted around. Views of The River and a lovely walk beside the Thames
G. C.
Super arcade just off Thames embankment at London Bridge. Small shops and coffee stops as well as places to eat. A good place to meet with great views of the river
S. H. P.
Lovely places. We went in Christmas season and it's wonderdeful, the Christmas tree was beautiful and the atmosphere also.
Go !@ you will be in love ;-)
J. M.
Great place for a browse and stroll on the South bank of the Thames next to London Bridge. Lovely views across the river over HMS Belfast and towards London Bridge.
F. I.
A great little place located by the Thames. It has a small range of shops and is located in a fantastic place next to Borough Market and London Bridge train station.
Hay's Galleria has a great views and is a good place to sit down and have a coffee alone or with friends.
K. S.
Great atmosphere, very close to London bridge, good ambiance. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around. Lots of shopping options around. A good place to spend time with family and friends. Wheelchair and disabled friendly.
S. C.
Nice place to walk near the river
K. A.
Beautiful place to walk around. It's quite small in terms of exploring but it's the perfect place to sit and relax for a bit and have some ice-cream!
K. A.
Fantastic place to eat. Menu and food was excellent. Service very friendly. Nice and quiet too.
Highly recommended.
J. H.
An interesting collection of a few stalls in an outdoor but covered walkway. On either side are stores like Next and restaurants. There is a large statue in a fountain called the Navigators that moves. Interesting but not the most beautiful.
N. J.
A few shops and cafés and a pub, with a large mechanical sculpture in the middle. Not worth a special trip, but OK if you need a rest whilst in the area. Good view of HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge
D. G.
Good place too find a great food
P. W.
I sometimes stop at the Galleria on my way to work. Coffee at Costa or Café Rouge. On the minus side, it just a little too plush and corporate for my taste. On the other hand the view of the Thames from the terrace is a pleasure. An excellent place for photos of Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast.
L. L.
It is an open door galleria with a few coffee shops around and souvenir posts in the middle. Nice place to meet up for a coffee or pint. Right next to it there is Nicholson's pub which I strongly recommend.
B. A.
Nice place to chill sometimes, beautiful structures like a mix of modern architecture with ancient designs
B. P.
Wonderful place by the river, you can see HMS Belfast, the Galleria itself is excellent with nice shops & coffee shops very close to The Shard and other attractions, great place for a day out, great place any day really... 😸
B. T.
Nice view of the river
M. S.
Quite pretty and easy to hang around but not much to do there. Unless you want to go to boots, or buy a really nice Leather bag or wallet which is cheap, handmade and quite amazing.
Everything else, meh.
J. M.
Good food at a reasonable price.
N. C.
Beautiful, historic area with a variety of shops and restaurants. It’s located right by Tower Bridge and worth a stroll through (make sure you read about the history as well - located on the plaques).
G. S.
Beautiful peaceful area.
S. B.
Very charming, beautiful sculpture
(Julius Vern like)
Many lovely handcraft stand's.
B. N.
The best place to work in London. Stunning views and excellent variety of shops for lunch time snacks. Fantastic events on offer through summer. Tourists attractions include the Ship located in the centre of Hay's Galleria, The scoop which is about 5mins walk away. & The Horniman pub for you local brew and filling menu of food.
R. V. D.
Situated just off the main road, I had eaten at this place before. Great home made meals & friendly helpful staff.
S. S.
Very touristy place. Have two classic British red telephone booths. Kids will enjoy the fountain in the middle. Good pubs and eateries.
M. G.
It is nearly impossible to visit hays galeria without livening it for many reasons. There are street markets all the time -e.g. Christmas market ; it is right by the river, providing and amazing view; there are amazing restaurants & pubs in this area. Do not expect to find a 5£ meal in this area, if it’s pricey but cozy.
Would definitely recommend it for a night with friends, leaving dos, Christmas parties...
Y. Z.
If you enter from the Thames, head to the back and on the left there is a small restaurant, it had the best ice cream choices around, Peaches and Cream is highly recommend and the single scoop is more than big enough.
A. T.
The area around the Galleria is a place not to be missed around Christmas, with its wonderful tree and lighting is a good place to have a rest after walking around the tower of London and tower bridge. Picture opportunity against the backdrop of the financial heart of london..
J. R.
I loved it, I used to work there
G. S.
Not bad but not amazing. Decent variety of shops and cafes but just the standard norm with some excellent architecture. I wish it was slightly more upscale to reflect the area and setting.
S. G.
Christmas tree looks great and had Christmas songs playing. Felt very festive and had small selection of stalls to peruse, easy access to the London Bridge on the River market
M. J.
Great outdoor and indoor retail spaces
P. M.
Fabtastic place especially at Christmas. Lovely South Bank location on the Thames next to HMS Belfast. Well worth a visit or two👌👌👌😉
R. O.
Fantastic architecture, the steampunk fish sculpture always raises eyebrows! Nice cafes and bars alongside a variety of shops, remarkably quiet considering its proximity to London Bridge.
J. C.
Relaxed atmosphere. ..idyllic landscapes while sipping a drink, coffee or eating leisurely along the riverside. Great for casual stroll.
P. E.
Wkd. Love the decor.😉👍🏽
J. O.
We visited here after going to Tower Bridge to get some lunch. It's a really lovely covered little area with a nice feature of a boat in the middle.
S. R. E. S.
Very nice shopping experience and trendy pleasure to meet you and your family and friends is responsible to delicious attention and consideration and look better with warm greetings and good wishes and also nice to see that places plentiful response to customer satisfaction also gift for the exclusive executive performances
K. W.
Really pretty and good place for food or drinks
L. B.
Good range of shops, interesting water sculpture in middle
D. R.
Nice enough building, home to some chains like Starbucks, Costa, Boots and also independent cafes like the Italian. Wouldn’t go out of my way to see it, but if you’re in the area. Always cold.
K. M.
Once upon a time there wasn't much here by way of places to eat etc. Now there are a few more choices, pubs, tp cafes to Café Piazza, to Café Rouge and Côte Brasserie etc. There are a few shops, like Next, Carducci and Boots the Chemist. They even have pretty little stalls that sell all sorts of trinkets and one that sells leather bags.
D. A.
Popular tourist attraction point
C. L.
Very cold but excellent. Plus I was with the love of my life.
H. C.
While not a destination in and of itself, it's a nice place to stop along the Thames and close to Tower Bridge. Nice place to just stop and grab a snack or a drink and be on your way.
S. J.
Loved it really nice little place to stop of and have something to eat n drink always buzzing with tourists and its a good place to stop of on your day or night out in London.
M. P.
Impressive buildings, veri nice river view. Good options forefoot and drinks. Ideal place to see the buildings in City and the bridges over Thames river.
S. S.
A good experience, just besides Thames. Some cafeteria and restaurants are within the area.
M. B.
:) Visit it if you can
C. l.
Try this place ,its great .
A. D.
Very nice 👌 place!
D. C.
Well worth a visit, even if its just a browse around. The architecture is amazing, some really nice boutique style shops. Local pubs and train station over the road.
L. M.
Impressive building. Just passing through today. Will return.
А. А.
You can find really great hats and accessorize
R. M.
Very nice mix of shops and food outlets next to the river. Well laid out and presented. Definitely worth a visit.
J. J.
Hay's Galleria is a mixed use building in the London Borough of Southwark situated on the south bank of the River Thames featuring offices, restaurants, shops, and flats. Originally a warehouse and associated wharf (Hay's Wharf) for the port of London, it was redeveloped in the 1980s. It is a Grade II listed structure.
S. A.
Amazing place. An architectural wonder that marries British naval history naturally with the futuristic buildings cropping up all around it. A must visit place for all
L.
The historic building is beautiful and there is a nice selection of little cafes, stalls and shops. Not massive but a perfectly lovely place to potter for an hour or so.
M. T.
A lovely place with lots of little shops and food/drinks. Great for a lunch break outside!
A. G.
Great atmosphere and ales on tap. Perfect for people watching. Delicious pub food and wonderful ambience. Great staff and service.
D. B.
Lovely place if you wanna go for a couple of drinks pre-dinner especially on Friday when all the office workers can't wait to go out for pints!!
A. S.
Great to have some coffee and take a rest
c. l.
I live here to ship the bad weather but you can still sit outside to have a ☕or🍝 😁
T. S.
We ate breakfast at Cote Brasserie before touring the HMS Belfast. Service was excellent, as was the food and coffee. I know its a chain, but it is a delight!
C. S.
I love it here, there are so many things to see all around this area,,there are some great places to eat & drink and places to visit along the water, great place.
P. R.
Nice gallery with some stores inside. If you are walking from Tower bridge to London Eye, plan a short detour to this gallery and relax with a coffee. Perfect for people watching!
G. K. P.
Nice weet visit. Always beautiful this time of the year
K. L.
Lovely place but gets really busy especially along the Riverside leading to it. Good spot to grab a coffee/tea and cake.
G. G.
Grate place to drink with friends
N. J.
Brilliant shopping centre with great views of London skyline. Very well decorated especially during the winter season. There is a gym, restaurants, a pub - great place.
J. J.
Excellent mall
a. m.
Very busy. A costa,Starbucks, next etc... There is entertainment, German Hot dogs and African cuisine. There is a cafe piazza. I've never been to it though
C. H.
The place has few restaurants but none of them have good reviews apart from Cote. It will be better to have more seating and different lights as the place looks a bit of out of dated in the night.
J. H.
Great shopping area and nice place to sit close to the river.
G. F.
Amazing Victorian era building with an extraordinary sculpture in the middle. Pro tip: there's an decent pub with great views over the river called the Hornimann at Hays
I. F.
Outdoor-indoor shopping center tucked away against the embankment of the River Thames. Tall buildings on either side with shops at the ground level. An arched glass roof connects the edges keeping the elements away.
a. b.
Small boutique trolleys selling stuff. Few shops and cafe's. Kind of place which is perfect to just Rest- and get a coffee if walking around London Bridge etc.
Z.
Beautiful Crimbo lights
D. G.
As it was night time the places inside were shut but it's still a lovely place nice and quiet.
N. B.
Never bad, but could really be so much more in terms of venue plus food and drink offering really needs some fresh blood
M. B.
Great place to eat out, under cover.
K. C.
Hidden gem in the middle of hussle. Dont miss to visit this place even if you wana just pass by. If you walking from tower bridge to train station, i would suggest to take this road and pass by from this market. Specially in the night it looks mesmerizing, hawker shops though close by 6 usually
P. S. C.
Striking architecture; well positioned on the Thames for those taking Westminster Bridge to Butler's Wharf riverside walk - a good place to sit and rest for a few minutes.
j. b.
This influential 80's warehouse regeneration now seems exhausted, outdated and rendered anecdotal by the recent ongoing massive ‘redevelopments’ in the immediate neighbourhood.
The quirky 'Willy Wonka'-ish fountain, a petanque pitch? and unimaginative tenant mix only accent the now dull and dated ambience.
A notable view of the City from the cramped terrace but a strategic revamp is overdue in this historic setting.
M. C.
Had breakfast here for four, lovely views and great service. Food was good croque madame was nice and the eggs benedict were lovely hollandaise was just right.
R. D.
Hays Galleria has restaurants, cafés a small selection of clothes, accessories, souvenirs and card shops. There are a few traditional pubs nearby and features a metal sculpture of a ship, 'The Navigators', which is also a fountain. Worth a visit, especially if you're walking on the river path and visiting the HMS Belfast or Tower Bridge!
Over Christmas and at various points during the year (ie summertime) there are sometimes events and activities.
Do note that during the week there will be plenty of city workers around and speeding by - a lot of us work here :)

Hay's Galleria is named after its original owner, the merchant Alexander Hay, who acquired the property – then a brewhouse – in 1651. In around 1840 John Humphrey Jr acquired a lease on the property. He asked William Cubitt (who was father-in-law to two of Humphrey's sons) to convert it into a 'wharf', in fact an enclosed dock, in 1856 and it was renamed Hay's Wharf.
During the nineteenth century, the wharf was one of the chief delivery points for ships bringing tea to the Pool of London.] At its height, 80% of the dry produce imported to London passed through the wharf, and on this account the Wharf was nicknamed 'the Larder of London'.
Tons of shops, it's covered so a great place to explore if the weather is bad, and great for families and kids. Highly recommended.
