Reviews of Swinton Square
P. G.
Fantastic snooker hall here. If only they would keep the ruddy music down or at least turn the auto play off so you don’t have music blaring in your ear hole.

Swinton used to have lots of different types of shops which meant that locals didn't have to travel to another town / city. Unfortunately a lot of shops have closed and there seem to be more shops closed within Swinton Square than are open and most of what are there are charity shops or bakeries. Bring back the vibrant Swinton that we used to know!

Farm foods is closing , im gutted , as I dont use asda or morrisons , please lets not see a other Turkish barbers replace farmfoods , ,

Bit depressing at times. However, the chap who sells pillows and bedding is great.
The car park at Asda is a nightmare.
C. M.
Love Swinton Square particularly the Greenhalsh bakery shop, extremely high quality cakes, pies and bakery products. A must visit.

Valiant shopkeepers doing their very best in an ugly concrete environment. I remember this being built and, like Eccles and Walkden, what a mistake! Mike Harding's joke about the architect of these awful precincts tragically being savaged by his guide dog still holds true.
K. S.
Some stores now missing. Freeze factory, B&M, charity furniture shop. Big Asda still there though.

Such a lovely little square but hidden away - if you don't know Swinton then you would not find it..

Waiter service !!!! WOT !?!?!? Yes they do offer a "Service at table" So we did &they delivered......

The management should held so activities weekly, right now is only the local come out to buy stuffs for daily life.
P. D.
More shops are closing. Farmfoods now due to close end of month.
T. C.
Not like it use to be. Not that many shops anymore. OK for food shops. Went to fix my gold chain and there's no jewellers what so ever 🙄
E. R.
Bit run down with only a handful of shops, has definitely seen better days.
K. T.
Lovely little shopping centre, lots of shops, massive Asda, and cafes.
G. R.
Pleasantly surprised at the amount of shops located on the square, will call again soon

Nice place, very pleasant and clean

It has an ASDA and a range of other shop including 4/5 charity shops. At one time there may have been some shops or offices one floor higher, but these now look empty and neglected. The square still has branch of Halifax Bank, and adjacent to the square, facing Salford Civic Centre, are Barclays, Santader and Lloyds. The Lancastrian Hall and Central Library on the corner of Chorley Road and Station Road is now closed, and having few redeeming features seems certain to be demolished.

It's a nice catalogue of shops to get most of the items you want
L. K.
Great! I always love visiting freeze factory have been coming there since I was in high school with my dad would go there and buy loads of ice cream and now that I live nearby I love going and getting cheap frozen foods and always get ice cream too! I Love it! It's always worth it even though I have to carry the shopping all the way home :)
E. G.
Only went in card factory and quality save ! Pity there's so many empty units .
J. X.
So sad as a lot of shops were closed. Access by asda and walking in through the town.

An old shopping precinct with brutalist architecture, slipping further into disrepair with each passing year. A good selection of shops but is in strong competition with Eccles and Salford Precinct over the bigger eyesore.

Good shopping centre very big and recommend a visit.

Wide variety of shops, though quite a few units are currently vacant. The centre is not covered (just narrow canopies in front of some shops), so can be get cold/wet in adverse weather. There is a large underground car-park below the Asda store, but don't overstay the free time limit or you will receive a fine to thank you for visiting the facility.

Puccini's!!! You must go to this Italian restaurant even if you don't visit any other outlet. Super staff and management run this family owned business. Excellent choice from the extensive menu, every dish we have ever had was cooked just right. Catering for special family occasions is their speciality, going to great lengths to make occasion memorable.
Highly recommended.

It's boss.......if ya like bakery type gaffs.
W. G.
Free parking for 3hrs @ Asda There is a Boots, Card Factory, Farmfoods & Quality Save with one or two charity shops scattered around them. The old Kwik Save is now the job centre.

Like all towns this one has been hit hard clean but most shops closed down
l. s.
Has a lot of different shops, and plenty of great deals. The area is well kept and very inviting, security show a great presence which makes shopping feel easier.

Oh Lord. Its a lovely place ro live. Relax and no noise.
S. R.
OK shopping center although there are a lot of empty shops
C. S.
Love it gutted the freezer shop closed down. 🙄
L. N.
Not as great as it was 20 years ago before the transformation. Now less choice of shops unless that is you want a bakery as there at least 5 in a 1/2mile stretch of each other plus asda which appears to have swallowed up all the other trade in the centre.
R. M. S.
best phone shop found in swinton square which is Brit Phones Ltd
Y. M.
It's a provincial shopping centre that has all the stores you might need. The square is slowly but surely being developed for the benefit of the local community.
S. F.
It's not a bad place . Has some good shops . What more do you want .
L. m.
What a shame lots of shops have closed could be a great shopping centre if was permotted properly maybe lower shop rental prices 😕
K. F.
Main parking available, Asda or streets to the side.
Costa, Gregg's, pound bakery, frozen foods shop , card shops plus lots of others, market stalls, cafes.
H. S.
That’s wonderful
J. H.
Seems an feels quite run down. Needs a face lift.
stores are clean inside as expected.
Only visited by chance. Would not m ake a special trip here.
j. e.
It was ok.just passing so called in.
P. M.
Small precinct. Some good shops. Large supermarket. Free limited parking. Very clean compared to some places.
g. M.
This is where Star Wars was filmed due to all the locals needing no make up. The difficulty was choosing Jabba the Hut character as there were too many candidates.
K. M.
This has lots of different shops here there is something for everyone its has charity shops asda coffee shop clothes shop card shop and many more great place to be
i. g.
There certainly is the good, the bad and the ugly at this place. Hopefully the good bits will help regenerate the bad. They have a decent Asda and a brilliant Specsavers. No shortage of pie shops if you are hungry 😊
B. t.
Lots of shops like boots, Greg's etc.
Perfect for shopping if you live around Swinton, Manchester

It's Swinton Square. Unfortunately many businesses here are gone, but it's still a lively place. Can be a bit noisy at time, but good place for all your shopping.
J. K.
It really is a charming square, reminiscent of the Plaza De Espana in Seville. A great place to grab a coffee and just people watch whilst enjoying the amazing architecture. Can get very busy on giro day though.
C. J. H.
We had a brilliant coffee at Costa coffee shop at Swinton Square.
Thank you
Catherine

Better than bolton not as good as manchester
A. M.
Shops ok but all the square is unloved needs updating
C. B.
Buzzy Bee’s cafe has Milo the Parrot who dances and sings HELLO GORGEOUS ! And a ciao ciao doggy which is cute as anything ! Best cocktails, staff and vibe ! They even did Doggy Ice Cream for my pup Vivienne Westwood 😭❤️5️⃣⭐️👏🏽 If you don’t know get to know !!!
R.
Great little precinct. Got all the shops you need..
R.
As relatively old fashioned precincts go, this is not bad. Access to some good shops, not just takeaways. There is a substantial Asda at one end with a car park and a good old fashioned fish and chip shop at the other end.
D.
There's always some sort of drama on the precinct, it's very run-down, definitely in need of repair and new shops. The birds are cute in the morning, though.
R. H.
A bit of a ghost town.... it needs a few more interesting shops to be a success.
