My husband and I had ski boots fitted at Ellis Brigham in Bristol. Excellent service. The staff were knowledgeable and well trained. Jakob and James who did the fittings were charming and helpful. We had custom footbeds, and so our new boots fit perfectly. Well done for outstanding service - this is becoming a rarity today.

Wow, what a brilliant team in this shop. I went to EB to buy a pair of ski boots. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were patient and did their very best to find a pair of boots that worked for me. The vibe in the shop is relaxed and friendly with no heavy sales pressure. Great professional and happy friendly service by Fergus. No pressure, very thorough and understanding and helpful. Having been in retail, the comments on here of lack of stock are crazy when they have I guess 50 different boots in goodness knows how many sizes!!! Didn’t have exactly what I needed but ordering in two to try in a few days. That’s mixing service and all for FREE!!! Most industries would (and should) charge extra for time fitting and to order and hold stuff. Very impressed overall and looking forward to my next fitting and pain free skiing!

Visited the Bristol store on the off change we could get a ski boot fitting on the day, appointments were limited leading up to our ski trip. We had failed to get an appointment in the Tamworth store for a number of weeks. My partner has always struggled with finding comfy boots, however Will was incredibly knowledgeable and managed to find him the perfect ski boot. Unfortunately the store didn’t have my suggested boot in my size. Will offered to order them in but due to limited time before a trip I ordered them to be sent to my home address. The boots actually arrived quicker than stated so I booked an appointment to get them checked/ any adjustments. I saw Ferg on my second visit and once again I cannot fault the service. Ferg was extremely knowledgeable and custom fit my boots for me. Both team members are a huge asset to the branch and you’ve gained our business for life. Thank you team Bristol!!

I visited in May 2022 to have custom footbeds made for my ski boots. The staff took a huge amount of time to carefully look at my feet and boots before even beginning the footbed process. The footbeds were made with care and patience. Excellent!

Edit: Recently got some new insoles moulded by Jack and an update to my boot fit. Great service all round. Great boot fit from the guys in the ski department. Got some intuition liners moulded for some touring boots. All pressure point eliminated and the liners feel snug and warm.

The team at Ellis Brigham did a quality job with providing me a pair of custom foot beds and ski boot Fitting, including heat treatment and shell stretch. Was a bit sceptical as didn’t have a clue what I was looking for in a pair of ski boots so I could’ve been flogged any old pair but Ferg was great and talked me through everything that was going to happen during the appointment. Very friendly (and not pushy) personal service. I have never had ski boots fitted but Ed did a brilliant job - he explained each stage clearly and made sure I was involved in all the decision. Ed made sure that I took time to explain how the boots felt (I tried on several pairs) and he plainly took account of the feedback I was giving him to whittle down the selection. The creation of the fitted footbed and the final stretching were done patiently and with not inconsiderable skill. What I had feared would be a difficult process was made easy and (literally) painless. I would definitely recommend.

I bought some sweet Full Tilt ski boots from the shop over a year ago now. I bought them for a ski season I am doing. I must have tried on most of the boots in the shop. The guys in there were very knowledgeable and friendly. I feel they did a really good job of fitting my boot. 12 days into my season one of my buckles goes! I email the shop an in a matter of hours they had helped me sort it out. So sure you could maybe buy cheaper online... But there is no way you'd get such good advice and customer service. Would defiantly buy ski boots from them again.

Best Ski Shop Around!!!! From my first phone call looking for Apex boots to me leaving (with a totally different pair) at the end of a day. Originally thought i wanted the Apex boots, so they ordered them in for me to try. Upon arriving at 11am, Rosie had me trying them on, measuring my feet, my stance, going through any questions to determine the best ones. She then got some other out when the Apex were not right. 2 pairs later we found the ones with the best "off the shelf fit". Then had custom insoles prepared. Went away for lunch as told to come back 45 mins later while they prepare the insoles. On return it was more fittings and even custom molding of the shells and boot liners until i was happy that my right foot wasn't going to keep going numb. The staff work throughout to make sure they were the correct boots and i was 100% happy with them. 1st class service by all the staff. Highly recommended.

Went for a ski boot fitting appointment and wasn't disappointed. Excellent service and Will was very professional going through the entire process with me. This is the only way to buy ski boots as they require professional fitting knowledge and buying online without receiving the correct sizing and customisation required, makes an appointment like this a no brainer.

Absolutely excellent service. I have been a long time customer of S&R but after finding the customer service to decline over the past few years i decided to try ellis brigham in bristol. Well the team were more than happy to help with the queries I had about skis and binding set up, directed me to the best possible staff to answer my questions. Price matched a few items for me and due to the amount i was spending did not charge extra for binding fitment. Have to say they have gained a new loyal customer and i look forward to purchasing more from them in future.

Needed fitted insoles in a hurry to do Fan Dance the following day, with Avalanche Endurance Events, and in brand new boots. Not ideal! All the staff were friendly and experienced. My insoles were done by Rosie, who does hiking boot insoles and many for Ski boots. Rosie was very thorough and careful to make sure that the fitting to my feet was perfect - then the fitting to the boot. I did the long version of the Fan Dance the following day (the Woodhouse Route, which is a good deal more demanding than than the normal Fan Dance Route).. More steep ups and more steep downs and much more 'difficult round' to cover. Rosie's care paid off 100%. I had started the route with damaged toes, but the fitted insoles allowed me to complete the route with no problems at all. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Much great kit for mountains and ski slopes - Brilliant fitted insoles..... Thank you so much Rosie. Richard

Good selection of outdoor clothing and equipment. However, the staff was not very interested in helping. I felt that they were bothered by my presence and more interested in talking to their friends stopping by. During my relatively short visit the employee had three different friends visiting and long conversation with each of them, making it impossible to get help. Not impressed by the customer service...

Good store only really stocks upper middle to high end brands, with prices to match. Looking for a backpack I found the Osprey Stratos 36 for £119 at Cotswold Outdoor it was £97. On Gumtree it wa £60 buts a different story! The staff are friendly and helpful but then do are Cotswold. Always take your phone to check out the competition.

Visited this store as was visiting a friend and had forgotten my rain coat. Unfortunately they didn't have what I needed (which was an inexpensive lightweight jacket) but there seemed to be a lot of choice and staff were attentive. Henry is the best boot fitter in the South West. Having large feet i though the experience would be an ordeal but Henry made sure that rather than just sell me the boots he had in store he would order in more sizes for me to come back and try and even then he double and triple checked to make sure they were spot on. It was nice being sold sold the right boot rather than the most expensive boot.

Brilliant and attentive staff who, more importantly, wanted to be there and KNEW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT! Very impressed by the knowledge of the staff, even saw some senior staff members training new recruits thoroughly, always a good sign. It was a very different experience to snow and rock, who had one teenager without a care in the world, probably on minimum wage, telling me that they didnt have any of the helmets I wanted to try on in large! A bit pricey but hey, you pay for the service right? Will be returning when I earn some more money and can get a good upgrade to the old planks

I have shopped here more than 10 times. Sometimes the staff are brilliant and friendly, but other times it can feel like you're an inconvenience. I once bought a pair of walking shoes that leaked, and getting a refund was like pulling teeth. Their range is second to none.

Store is rather small and claustrophobic, not much room to actually look at the gear on sale. There is however a reasonable selection of certain items, primarily clothing, choice of other items in-store is limited, no doubt also due to space. Went into look at/buy new ski poles and helmet. Selection of both was limited, was told that everything they had in store was on display at the time (last winter). Bit frustrating since buying some things online isn't ideal and I have to travel over an hour to get here. Overall just not an ideal environment particularly if trying to consider a purchase potentially worth hundreds of pounds.

Great outdoor equipment store with helpful staff. The only downside (if you are wanting walking / climbing / camping equipment in winter) is that ski equipment tends to dominate the store in either months and there is not so much of the other stuff on display.
