Fantastic shop, with fantastic service. I had been looking for a swimming wetsuit for some time, and was having a frustrating experience trying to buy online. Ocean Leisure solved all that! They had a range of wetsuits in stock, they had a range of sizes I could try on (despite it being late in the season), and the service from Chris was superb, both in terms of getting the right suit and fit, but also how to care for it etc. Excellent experience all round, and I strongly recommend to Londoners for any watersports gear. Bought my first wetsuit today with the outstanding help of scubadivers Chris and Liv, who were very knowledgeable about Wetsuit fits, wetsuit care, and how the different types of wetsuits need to fit differently. Chris even rummmaged around storage to see if he could find a last season's wetsuit that could stretch my student budget, and showed me how to repair future nicks. They also provided me with 1:1 help when putting on and taking off wetsuits and were very friendly and informative - even at the end of the day. Great staff and good stock too at this time. Thoroughly recommended they care of these two staff and I wish them very well on their next scuba adventures in the Caribbean. Thanks for going the extra mile for me guys!!!

However having advice while trying on expensive bits of kit is important and I have used Ocean Leisure a number of times for exactly this and have always been happy with the purchases/advice

Good dive shop in Central London but can be pricey but has great stock. Follow up review Goes up to 5 stars, Sunday opening is great, staff are exceptional, very knowledgeable about their stock. Their prices ARE competitive with other London dive stores. Amazing book selection on everything on divind and sailing/boating and I forgot to mention the boating department. The shop where you can literally get anything from a neddle to an anchor.

Everything you could want for under the water is here in profusion. Scuba and diving gear of every type and use, snorkeling, the lot. Prices are good - I compared with online for the items I wanted and was happy to see no difference. A staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Good selection of equipment. Went to get some help for a dive computer. The member of staff dealing with us was so condescending said the information was available in the manual... which it wasn't... But got it sorted eventually. Another member of staff however was quite helpful. Was looking for a dry bag he brought us to the whole selection and didn't force anything on us that was too expensive. Just gave us the one we were after and was really friendly about it. But very off put about going back due to the other guy being condescending

He made it clear his priority was giving me all the relevant information rather than selling me a particular product. A great example of why in-store service beats online prices. They could not have been more helpful. I forgot my bike lock so they put it in their store while I shopped. The assistant, Phoebe, was an experienced diver, super helpful, really knowledgeable, and rushed around to get me everything I needed. She helped me try and size everything then, as I was on my bike, shipped it all to my home. As a newbie haemorrhaging cash on my new hobby, they did not take advantage of me to up-sell me to stuff i did not need, in fact quite the opposite. I ended up getting what I needed, quickly and below budget. Yes, online prices had minor savings and once I had bought and had to return the wrong stuff, I would have been worse off.

Experienced shop assistants, especially at the SCUBA section (the assistant is a diver himself). The prices are reasonable and have a range of equipment. Also thanks to the assistant in the SCUBA section (not sure of his name) for not trying to sell the most expensive kit and actually trying to find something with the best quality/cost balance.

Only been once. Found the shop to be a little bit overprised and expensive. They didnt have a large selection of swimming trunks (which is what I was after) but they were really expensive. On the other hand the staff are helpful and the place has a large variety of other sqimmjng equipment of all sorts.

About a month ago I went late on a Friday after work, with about 30 minutes to spare before the shop closed to buy my first wetsuit. I sort of knew I needed more time to do that job, but I think it would be fair to say I was putting it off. The lovely Peter made it a totally painfree experience, he helped me to get over my reluctance and try on a wetsuit that was absolutely perfect for my first ever open water swim - I've done two open water events in it since, and it fits me really well, and it didn't break the bank financially either. There IS a reason why the changing rooms were full of women trying on wetsuits late on a Friday - this shop is really central, really helpful, really knowledgeable. Sporty yes, but macho competitive, no. YES, you can buy one on the internet, and that's great - but I wanted real practical help and advice, and not to feel too stupid for having no idea what I was doing - and these guys excelled at that.

Me and my partner came here, Katie who works at this store helped us... She provided one of the best customer services i have ever received from anyone. She was knowledgeable and very patient. Great place to shop.

This store is a great example of why bricks and mortar still has a place in retail. We went in looking for a wetsuit for open water swimming. The amazingly knowledgable chap we talked to opened our eyes to much better options to the standard triathalon suit, and that we did not know were available. Preparing for an upcoming freediving holiday, I visited my one essential store in London for diving gear. Mentioning to the counter staff that I wanted a weight belt for freediving they immediately said to wait while they got a store expert. The staff at the store are all very helpful. Panagiotis is a resident freediving specialist at the store. Tremendously helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable on the sport. He was able to provide useful, informative and friendly advice on helping to choose some items to purchase. The store is my "go to" store for browsing dive trip equipment and with someone like Panagiotis there to provide some good and detailed impartial advice, you could not want much more (particularly for freediving). Great to have his specialist and friendly insight into equipment choices. - Thank you. The store has a wide range of stock covering all aspects of many different water sports. Highly recommend a browse there if SCUBA or freediving is your thing and you are in Central London. ...- Take a browse. :)

I entered thinking I new what wetsuit I wanted for outdoor swimming. But when I explained to Peter (or Panagiotis, a free diver in his spare time!) my distance (a 10k swim) he advised on another wetsuit I hadn't considered (the Orca 3.8). He spent an hour with me ensuring it was the right fit and also talked me through the handling of it. I could have bought it cheaper online but I think the advice was well worth the difference. The wetsuit has also shaved 5 minutes off my 1.5k swim time!

Best at customer service!! Ask for Yamit. Some item are cheaper but some are not. Easy to locate. Bill come with PREMIER TAX FREE which are super easy and professional for refunding your VAT if you are a foreigner.

Certainly does not contribute democratizing watersports. Googles/diving masks start at £45, hardly accessible for all. With DECATHLON expanding in London (see the new shop to be opened on August 15th in Ealing Broadway) and also selling CRESSI masks from slightly over twenty quids , not a very good business strategy. In fact lowering prices would attract many more clients (was hardly anyone when I was there last evening)...and pay more easily the rent. Otherwise products are lined up like for a parade.

Ocean Leisure holds a lot of stock, much better than the internet as you can try it on and feel it and talk to people who know about the sport. This is the last sailing shop in London (there used to be 5) so if you do not use it it WILL go.
