Reviews of Campus Park

Love this space. A bit sleepery but good place from beginner to advanced. Friendly staff, pizzas, coffee, tea and a fire place with chairs and tables.

Dropped in for a little toddler session so my boy could learn to scoot about. Well organised, nice and relaxed, with a cosy fire on the go.
Good coffee, great pizza.
A refreshingly different, and new way, to tire your sprogs out.

Not the largest indoor skatepark we've been to but smooth and well maintained. Some good ramp sections, both 6 and 3 year old enjoy it
L.
Good atmosphere with friendly, welcoming staff and a nice range of food & drink. I appreciated getting to choose music and had a lot of fun skating the obstacles/ramps, which were a variety of sizes for different skill levels. Definitely worth a visit.

The other half of the Campus set up this is more of a street park and it's really well put together cool little flat ground section with some mellow transitions a small box and rail then the bigger section with the handrail and side ledge! Great park loads of parking and has a wicked cafe same as the other Campus park (Campus Pool)

Read only this review if you want an honest opinion on this park.
As one of the few indoor parks in the south west area, Campus Skatepark is a decent choice for both advanced and beginners.
Upon arriving you may be underwhelmed. I was expecting a much larger facility for the price, but once you get inside you'll be amazed as to how much is available.
Walking through the front door, you're greeted with a WARNING poster to your right, explaining the rules and expectations of you as a park user - a vital must read, especially for the younger users.
Make your way into the cafe/shop and register your details with the guy up front. £6.50 first session, £5.50 then on, unless you want to pay £20 annual membership to reduce the cost to £3 per session - A great incentive if you are a regular attendee (I would also add that as someone much more likely to attend maybe once a week or bi-weekly, maybe a monthly subscription fee or annual fee be added for year round free entry?).
The cafe itself offers various drinks and snacks at affordable prices. £1 for a bottle of water (refills available) or £1.50 for a Monster Ultra, Coke etc.
The shop offers the essentials for those who may want to upgrade or replace their gear whilst skating, a good selection of boards, trucks, bearings and wheels by decent brands - Great if you snap your board half way through a session. Clothing is also available as is Scooter gear. All of the above is priced slightly higher than retail, but only marginally (it would cost more in fuel to travel to Bristol for your replacements).
The guy iv'e dealt with each time has been 'sound'. Very laid back and easy to talk to, a hard worker constantly running back and forth to ensure the safety of individuals in the park and serve those in the cafe.
Onto the important stuff....
The park itself feels slightly worn, but is obviously maintained well. A plethora of sizes of ramps for users of all abilities. 4ft + quarter pipes, a large manual pad, varying gradients of ramps, a pipe wall and a non stationary rail. It's obvious this park was designed by skaters for skaters, the varying runs that can be accomplished throughout say so as does the scaled down ramps next to the entrance area.
The community that attend is varied, mostly scooters, a decent amount of skateboarders and rarely some BMX.
Whatever your skill level, age or preference, this is a park that you will enjoy rain or shine. Go there!
Summing up in pros and cons:
PROS:
- Friendly staff
- Good Parking
- Affordable clean cafe
- Well stocked shop
- Discounts available
- Great community
- Well thought out design suitable for all skill levels
- Majority well maintained ramps
- Wooden! - Slams don't hurt as much
CONS:
- Loud and sometimes unsuitable Music
- Couple of ramps needing attention - VERY MINOR ATTENTION (screws missing)
- Broken Lockers
A NOTE FOR PARENTS:
Please be aware that a Skatepark is designed for use by everyone. NOT just YOUR child. They CAN and WILL get hurt if they are not aware of their surroundings.
On my most recent visit, a parent made a complain to the member of staff asking that a skater be removed for 'aggressively' riding into their child - RUBBISH! I saw exactly what happened, the skater took great care at all times to ensure their run was clear. YOUR child decided to stay and not move from the top of the ramp where their scooter was 'tapped' by their board.
Seriously parents (and younger skaters), be more savvy and make your kids aware of their surroundings. They not only risk endangering themselves but others around them.

We are so lucky to have this in our village - what a superb facility, much needed for our young community. I also want to thank the young guys who are out practising their tricks who always stop to say hello to my puppy and helped me socialise him. This place is a real credit to the team who run it, it has a really positive impact.

Excellent facility, ok for small kids but better for more advanced skaters. Cafe does great coffee.

Excellent option for when outdoor skating / scooting isn't an option. Large-ish park suitable for all ages. (Only see half of it in my photo).
Good comfy cafe to sit in while kids burning off energy.
C. S.
Great place for scootering kids, and the adults can get some work or play with the broadband which is great - 37 Mbps down and 8 up. Ask behind the counter for the password. Prices for coffee and sweets is quite high, but park admission price is very reasonable. They now have online booking also.

Nice park, nice staff, good food. A few too many scooter kiddies but that was the only downside. Had a good skate anyway :-)

Toddler takeover is excellent! Great place to take your wheels or even just a fun place to slide about in.

Perfect for those dreary days when my son needs to burn his energy! How he sccots for 4 hours straight beats me but he loves it
Z. W.
Decent little wooden skatepark. The staff are real easy to get on with, it's fairly cheap (as is all Campus parks - for what you get), and I've never seen it get overly crowed.
