As a visitor from the USA, I found Lady's Wood to be an excellent introduction to British clay shooting. If you're in Bath or the Cotswolds, I don't think you'll find a better shooting experience nearby. Their website is detailed and modern, and they responded quickly to my online inquiry. Helen is an absolute delight both over email and in person, and made me feel very welcome in the clubhouse. The prices are higher than most US shooters will be used to, but if you want to shoot in the UK I think it's a very good value for money. The clubhouse is handsome and comfortable and the grounds are immaculate, somewhere between a garden and a forest. Kudos to the ground's manager, Richard, for keeping the outdoor spaces in such good order. Being without a shotgun certificate, I appreciate that Lady's Wood offers a caddied practice option so that visitors like myself can enjoy shooting without paying extra for instruction. I found the targets to be well set and challenging enough to make me work for the breaks. And of course I loved shooting incoming "driven" targets of their 40-yard tower! Next time I'd love to try the extreme tower.

over the summer I've enjoyed several excellent stimulated days with Ladyswood shooting School. The locations have all been 1st class offering some excellent shooting with some challenging drives. Chris and his team run the day superbly well and I can't recommend there SIM days highly enough for those that enjoy these kind of days, we are always made to feel very welcome and above all they are just great fun.

An extremely impressive and professional shooting school and club, amazing facilities, ground and staff and very welcoming to a group of novices. We joined Lady Wood's for an afternoon of clays. Most of the group of 8 had never held a shotgun before, yet in such great hands and under trusted supervision, everyone had a tremendously good time. Special thanks to Helen for frequent correspondence and flexibility in booking and also to our guide/supervisor Mike for his great humour and for having us all shoot some clays! I very much hope to visit again in the future!

Well we have had yet another great day at Lady’s Wood Shooting school with some excellent tuition from Ernie. Nice to see Helen and Chris again. Would highly recommend.

As a complete novice and never shot a gun before in my life, I was a little intimidated by going to such a well known establishment to "try my hand" at something I had never done before... The grounds were beautiful and as we did our first session, the gentleman who accompanied us was incredible friendly and approachable - he took the time to show us the basics and quickly got me up to speed and gave me a fantastic feel for what the sport was all about. Safe to say I had a fantastic experience and look forward to booking another session with Lady's Wood and would recommend to anyone, at any level of shooting skill.

Fabulous settings with peacocks makes for a terrific visit and experience would recommend. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the shooting venue is changed regularly, this makes for a great day out .

Amazing time really good teacher for first time

I attended a simulated clay day on Friday 28th May and joined a fun mixed team. Helen arranged everything as usual. Chris was his usual professional, friendly and calm self and the day was splendid. Great bacon rolls to start, a comprehensive briefing that covered all that was required and then a short drive to the first drive. Chris firmly reminded everyone present of the rules of the day including that fibre wad cartridges only would be used. No exceptions. The shooting was fast and with a great mix for everyone’s abilities. One of the best simulated days I have had the pleasure to shoot. The elevenses would put a posh game shoot to shame. I couldn’t fire anymore cartridges if you had paid me. Finished with a super lunch back at the pub. The day was very well run by Chris and the team and I can’t wait for the next opportunity. If there is a date going get it booked because based on my experience this will prove to be a very popular offering. Well done Ladys Wood!

Great stands which are very well laid out. The updates and upgrades to Lady's Wood since I last went are very worthwhile. We are planning some return trips soon with mixed group sizes. The bacon rolls were excellent too.!! Thanks Jim

Highly recommended, going above and beyond any normal customer service, making you feel very welcome and at home the second you walk through the door. Whether it’s Helen on the front desk greeting you as soon as you walk through the door or Tom in the gun room taking the time of day to explain anything you want to know about the sport. The instructors that caddy you around the stunning site that has a vast number of different stands are very passionate and helpful, teaching you how to attack every clay. I have found Lady’s Wood a very knowledgable and enjoyable place to visit and will definitely be going back.

First visit to LW this week, with two friends for a "flush & flurry" session. The ground was good, the staff excellent and the facilities impressive, not least the bacon rolls, sausages, chocolate and tea / coffee. The glass of bubbles at half time with a shot of sloe gin was also pretty good! We shot four stands, each showing a simulated game presentation and alternated with another team of three which provided a bit of friendly competition. The stands provided a fair amount of "challenge" and a llot of fun. Covid 19 precautions were front and central. I look forward to visiting LW again. It is a bit pricey - even more than Ian Coley's ground for a practice session - but have to say that I am inclined to say its worth it, if only for the very warm and friendly welcome from staff and instructors!

This was an absolutely stunning grounds to go shooting at. Clubhouse was stunning. Service was fantastic. As for the type of clays you get it was brilliant. A good selection of clays coming from all directions. Really enjoyed my shoot here. Will definately go back when I am in the area.

New sporting layout is an excellent addition to the ground that already has great facilities. You are now able to enjoy the stands without the need to be accompanied, shoot as much as you want and there are also no queues.

Met Ernie today - what a delightful man - knowledgeable, patient, amusing and a great teacher - have booked multiple lessons and will be a definite pain in their proverbial for a while to come. Highly recommend to all.
