Reviews of St Nicholas GAA Bristol

Great club and great group of lads. I can't recommend St. Nicks enough to anyone that wants to play in the best team in Bristol one that has great social events. In my one season with Nick's we won the league and made it to the championship final (called off due to Covid). Not only was the training great but being made to feel part of the Irish community abroad, the social events even with Covid was always a great chance to find out about local events and where the best place was to get a good pint of stout.

Since moving to Bristol in 2020 the best decision I made when I moved over was to join St Nicks GAA. Every single person I’ve met has been fantastic in making me feel welcome. Training is great with 20+ boys at all sessions which has meant we’ve consistently challenged for county championships. Apart from the football , the social side of playing with St Nicks is great with many team nights out and events meaning it’s a great chance at meeting new people. I’d highly recommend St Nicks to anyone moving over to the Bristol area.

I've been playing with St Nicks Bristol for a few years now.
It's been a great way to keep fit, and also meet up with lads to socialise.
The club is always serious about winning the Gloucestershire county championship so training is good and intense. And there now a junior men's team as well, so there should be plenty of game time for everyone.

Great club to play for and everyone was very welcoming to me when I joined. Being a member is not just about playing sport, there's also a very good social side with regular meet ups. I would recommend anyone wanting to get involved with Bristol GAA to join the Western Gaels

Joined the club last year after moving to Bristol and couldn't recommend this team enough. Sound bunch that caters for all abilities, whether you want to be competitive or just come for the laugh. Send them a message on Facebook or Instagram if interested!

Joined the club about 28 years ago as an U-21. Its been great! No - been playing with the club since around 2006. Great set of lads who try and look after each other on and off the pitch. Training has gotten really good in recent years. Team has had a successful 2017 and aiming for more good days in the year(s) to come.

Joined this year after moving to Bristol and not knowing anyone in the city, and I've enjoyed everything from the training, matches and nights out. Would welcome anyone who has moved to Bristol from Ireland to get involved, or anyone who wants to try a new sport.

A really great, well run, club. Everybody is welcome, whether you've played to a high standard or are just a beginner. I was really impressed to see people come along to train even when they had barely even seen a football game before! More importantly, the social scene is also very good!

Good bunch of lads to meet up with. Football is great craic to play and getting the odd title is rewarding. Social side outside of it is great also. I was originally hesitant to go back playing since it was so long since i played last but really glad i did.

Extremely welcoming club especially as I'd never tried GAA before. A great mix of playing and socials which means anyone can get involved! Everyone is super friendly and it's by far the best place to go for Gaelic Football in Bristol!!!

Great club to play for, helping any Irish in Bristol feel a bit closer to home. I never played before but that did not matter. The ladies always make you feel welcome and are on hand to teach any newcomers.

Great team to play for. It feels like a home away from home. Good team with a great deal of success over the rivals. Great social life with the club too and an easy way to settle into life away from home
