A lot of activities here. Mini golf, car rides, bouncy castle, skate park, play ground, skyline. Paths are pram, wheelchair & Segway friendly. Parking costs £2.50 for 2 hours. There are many water features and different lengths of marked walking paths. It wasn't very busy when I came but it wasn't the warmest. Really good as there are lots of things for the kids to do.

Great place to visit with children. On a nice day there could be many people, finding parking would be difficult. The council ice cream parlour is a rip off. Other then that people enjoy it very much.

Large car park.There is a second car park off the main car park, ideally suited if you want to explore the Craft Village. There is a third car park directly off the Markeaton roundabout. As well as children's play parks there is a boating pool, an ice cream/drinks kiosk and a model railway display. Check times for railway.

Very nice park for both couples and families with plenty of activities like massive zip line, padelo boats, slides, a big paddling, poolcanoeing for kids and more. There's a Cafe for a quick drink or bite with plenty of seatings outside plus picnic tables all over the area.

Nowhere near enough toilets and the baby change facilities are terrible but the playground and park area are amazing. There are plenty of wheelchair friendly play areas including the climbing frame (yes that's right it's wheelchair friendly) and a roundabout

Busy Saturday during lockdown but great limiting of numbers and one way in/out so the play area wasn't overcrowded. Lots of things for very small up to big kids and a nicely spread out. Most kids are well behaved but seeing some pushing past or queue jumping when their parents don't say anything is disappointing but obviously that's not under the parks control!

Very clean and tidy a lot of the children's facilities in the park are open as usual, though as at the 29th June, the paddling pool was still closed. The cafe is open as usual with plenty of outside seating, specially if you include the grass. There is also an ice cream truck which seems to be there most days.

A favourite place for my grandchildren. We try to go there as often as we can. It has seen a few much needed improvements in recent times and is nice in the summer for picnics and the paddling pool and walks around the park. Close by is the village and farm shop. Well worth spending some time here

My dogs loved the kids paddling pool, normally spotless, its not been kept up in lockdown so it was great for them to be able to play in there. We got there later on a Saturday so cafe was closed but great facilities all round and a new massive climbing thing for older kids/teens/adults that I hadn't seen in previous years

I always enjoy bringing the kids here and I remember being brought here when I was growing up. It's been refurbished since then and the kids really enjoyed the mini golf course with felt, which wasn't there when I was a kid.

Medium sized park with lots of space for walking and kids play area too, there's even a paddling pool and mini gold course too. Car parking available costing £1.60 for one hour, £2.40 for two hours, £3.80 for up to four hours and £5.00 for more than four hours. Disabled can park for free. There's also a skyline climbing area but these needs to be booked in advance. Lots of fun but some activities or areas are only open during the warmer weather.

Best playground for miles! Plenty to do for the children. We visit when visiting family. Wish we lived nearer to it. We live 2 hours away! Could easily spend an afternoon here on a cold day or even the whole day during the summer months. Highly recommend this park and playground.

My kids love this park, a huge pirate ship takes centre stage! Giving the imagination and the body a thorough workout! There is climbing, swinging, spinning, rowing, driving, golfing, paddling, bouncing, dangling, and hanging for all ages! A great range of play equipment for a wide variety of ages and abilities. Plus the all important benches, toilets and snacks available for those who just want to sit, chill and be a supervisor!

Families come from all over to spend the day here. Kids love the big pool and play areas. There's a big new adventure ground for the older kids too. Also donkeys, crazy golf and boats, all set in a large park. Craft village and orangery for adults and boats on the lake..

It is a very nice playground for kids with all ages, it is near the University of Derby. It is enclosed all around with fence, so kids can run about freely. There is a big paddling lake with canoes, a mini golf course, toilets and baby changing facilities, kids go kart occasionally. Moreover there is a huge Go ape style facility next to the play centre. There are several climbing structures with slides and climbing walls and there is soft floor beneath them. Swings, carousels. Nice river area in the woods. Also swans, ducks, geese swim around the lakes and rivers. Also there is a car park next to the platly centre.

If you have lived your whole life in derby (such as myself), you'll know that a day out to markaeton park was perhaps one of the best things as a child. Going in the mini-go karts, the bouncy castle, the climbing frame, the mini golf.. There's just so much for young ones. The park itself is beautiful, unspoiled nature. Duck roam freely and the occasional swan is a sight to behold. As I said before.. Amazing.

Markeaten park is a ok place to visit. It should be free parking but we know that will never happen as our council love there profits for the deep pockets. But still it's a welcome place for the family on them warm summer days.. But stay away in some late evenings as you get the older kids with drugs and idiots roaming around. And plus the stories about the toilets in late evenings.

Came late in the day, about 6.30pm, and the play area was practically deserted, which was great as it made it easy to watch the kids. The facilities are really good, in terms of the play activities. The nearby parking makes it easy to visit.
