The whole team are amazing, they make you relaxed, explain everything from start to finish. This place is a must if your thinking of doing a skydive. As a bi-lateral amputee, I really wanted to do a tandem skydive and these guys made it all possible. From my first visit to the actual jump day I felt completely in safe hands. Absolutely incredible experience. Had a timeslot of 10am and waited around until 4pm to actually jump so it might have been nice to be warned of this pre-booking but it was definitely worth the wait and the cafe is warm and welcoming. I booked the camera/video package which is 100% worth the money. I've re-watched the video about 20 times already with a huge smile on my face. Amazing, amazing, amazing!!

I did my first tandem skydive yesterday at 15,000ft. I was due to skydive on the Sunday but the weather wasn't looking too promising and I got a call late Friday recommending I come along on the Saturday instead. I arrived at 12pm (as instructed). People were jumping as I arrived, however not long after jumps were suspended due to wind. This was probably a good two hours but luckily weather on the ground wasn't too bad so it was nice to sit in the seating area. There was a nice, cheap cafe on site which kept me and my family topped up with tea all day. When jumps continued and I was called we were fitted with harnesses and goggles (bring your own gloves.. I didn't and they cost a lot for branded gloves on site, though they are good quality!). On the plane I was with my instructor (Bryn) who was really reassuring and kept checking I was OK. As he was one of the owners it also made me feel more relaxed knowing I was in good hands! He also kept adjusting my harness which I was happy about as I was confident I wouldn't fall out of it!! The plane ride itself was a bit unnerving as you just keep going up for what feels like an eternity! Bryn explained exactly what was going to happen and what I needed to do when we left the plane. The freefall was great, though I did find it hard to breathe (I was doing quick shallow breaths). I had a cameraman (James) who had been filming me and the view on the way up and was with us all the way up to the parachute opening. The whole thing was amazing and there were breathtaking views. I was quite happy that we had been a little delayed too as the sunset just added to it. When it was all over and we got home i had already been sent the edited video! Overall it was a great day and the team were extremely experienced and friendly. I'd happily go back again and hopefully will!

What an amazong experience! I did the 15,000 feet dive which was well worth the upgrade for double the free fall (about 50 seconds) The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. My instructor was David who was great, very chatty and informative and James was the outdoor camera (he jumped out first and filmed the free fall as well as some before and after shots) and at the end a great 6 minute video was done which was epic If anyone was ever thinking about doing one I cant recommend this place enough and would simply say book it (and the 15,000 feet dive)

I did my first ever tandem here last weekend. The waiting times are long, and as they say in their T&C you have to prepare to spend hours there, and not only because of the weather. However the skydive was so amazing I forgot everything before that. I have already booked my next one, this time closer to where I live, and I can't wait for it. My son and I both did a tandem sky-dive from 15,000 feet. From booking in there was quite a wait until we actually jumped but this is understandable given how popular it was. The training is straightforward and Nick, my dive partner, was very re-assuring from the moment we met to when we landed. Overall it was a great/surreal experience and one I would definitely do again. Indeed my wife who is not naturally someone who enjoys thrill rides/experiences has said she would also do it.

Hello, I would just like to say what a truly, fabulous time my son, daughter and myself had jumping out at 15000ft last Saturday. My son, Jack celebrated his 21st birthday with a jump and he really enjoyed his experience. My daughter, Laura, though very nervous also enjoyed the experience tremendously! Amazing experience! I’d been a little nervous about the skydive (as expected) but from the get-go I felt very safe and secure. It was a very quick turn around which also really helped the experience as it gave less waiting around time thinking about the drop. My instructor, Ally was really helpful and made me feel very safe. Yesterday I jumped from 15,000 feet along with my son. What can I say? Absolutely brilliant experience with an amazing, friendly and professional team! My instructor was Alex Matei and he was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Both he, and my personal cameraman, Charlie, made sure I had the best possible experience and made unforgettable memories! Everyone at Sky-High is super friendly and welcoming from the second you enter the reception area. We had tasty food and drinks in the cafe whilst waiting for the weather to pick up enough for us to jump. All in all, I thoroughly recommend for everyone to try skydiving at least once and without a shadow of doubt, book in at Sky-High Skydiving ~ you won't regret it!!

I went for the gold package jumping from 15000 feet with the video/photo package, certainly worth the extra money. I was bought a 15,000ft tandem skydive for my birthday, the experience was amazing! Once you are allocated your instructor you are by their side like glue haha, but they go through every process of what they're doing and they couldn't keep you anymore up to date and prepared as they do, we free fell at 140mph, breathing wasn't as bad as I imagined but once that parachute was pulled, we just floated in the air and looking 360 taking in the scenery / views, you can see for miles! Absolutely breath-taking, I would absolutely highly recommend and I would 100% do it again, what a life experience (There is toilets, a cafe and an outdoor seating area for visitors etc)

I surprised the wife with a tandom 15,000 jump...It was on her bucket list (not mine!). The staff were amazing as I was a duffer when booking through the internet but was easily sorted after contacting the team through email. I took part in a charity skydive at Skyhigh skydiving and it literally took my breath away. I have always wanted to do a skydive and when the opportunity arose I knew I had to go for it. I wish I had done it sooner. It was the most incredible experience ever. Things to know, we didn't wear coveralls so be prepared to get a grassy bum as you land. I wore Leggings and a t shirt. It was a warm day and I didn't feel the cold. But travelling at 120mph on a cool day will definitely be felt! I upgraded my jump from 10,000 to 15,000 feet and I am so pleased! This meant I had around a minute of free falling before the parachute opened. My jump was a tandem and I was supported my Ali. He was the calmest person I've met in a long time. He really put me at ease and explained everything. The other person who made my day was Liam. He was the videographer who jumped with me to record the jump and take awesome photos. Again, if you only plan on jumping once, I would recommend the HD package. No hand held cams and the guys are great at capturing your skydive. In terms of covid, be prepared you're in a plane on a bench seat, sandwiched between around 12 other people. It is cosy. But trust me, as you sit for 15 mins making your way up to the clouds, covid is the last thing on your mind. I would recommend anyone to try it - you won't regret it! I'm already looking at booking another one 🛩️

This weekend I did my first ever Tandem Skydive at 15,000ft (because if you're going to do it, go big) and it was INCREDIBLE. I was paired with Dave and had Liam as my cameraman, both we're so friendly, put me at ease and mostly made it as fun as possible. Their relaxed nature and jokes make you feel so comfortable that you almost forget what you're doing and how high you are, any worries you may have had before go out the window and you just enjoy it. I absolutely loved it, the thrill is insane, Dave even helped me do some spins holding the handles myself (with him) which was crazy fun. Dave and Liam went out of their way to make sure I had the best time I could, and make it as memorable as possible. I also thoroughly recommend getting a video package, it's so worth it. Something i'll never forget, so thank you Dave and Liam! I will 100% be back :)

Booked with Omar a month ago who was spot on. Cracking place, from the moment I got there I met Sally on the front desk who was very helpful. Next onto training with Ali and the dive with Dave... which was awesome. Dave was very informative and explained everything in detail. Absolutely first class experience! I Tandem Jumped from 15,000ft for the charity 'MIND' and it was the greatest thing I ever did. The feeling of falling from the sky makes you feel so free, I loved it. My Tandem instructor was Danny and he was class. From start to finish he was so relaxed but professional. I think how relaxed he was made the whole situation so calm and I had utmost trust in Danny. I had Robert as my photographer and he is outstanding. I got video and over 100 stills. at first I only bought the Hand Cam and only had 10,000ft but I'm so glad I upgraded to the outside cam and decided to go that 5,000ft higher! Going from 15,000ft mean I was free falling for over 1 minute. I would recommend this to anyone the feeling almost feels like your dreaming. Hats off to my Instructor Danny he was amazing. Also to my Photographer the skill it must take for still and videos is next level, Also Thank you to all the staff at Sky High Skydiving they were great and so kind and helpful. They have been fantastic at Re arranging for weather conditions and covid restrictions and the amount of communication over the years waiting for it to be able to go ahead has been great too. My husband jumped today and is thrilled. We paid for the video which is incredible! Such good quality, well put together and an amazing opportunity for myself and our kids to see what he done too. All round fantastic experience. For any spectators, there's a little cafe inside so you can grab breakfast items or sandwiches, hot and cold drinks whilst you wait. You can eat in or take out too. My father John Lethbridge recently did a videoed parachute jump, in support of his charity, the Royal British Legion, as closure to his year in office as Mayor of Durham & Chair of Durham County Council 2018-2019. It was a great experience for him, his family came to support and watch. The instructors & staff were very special people and really looked after him. The video was so professionally done, great editing, music, I was really taken by surprise, it was world class. You will struggle very hard to find a parachute centre like this elsewhere, friendly, hugely experienced, right on our doorstep. We have much to be proud of here in the North East, including this amazing parachute centre.

My tandem instructor was very memorable, funny guy don't think I could have asked for a better experience. Totally awesome from start to finish! We did a family (4 of us) tandem skydive to celebrate Lewis’s 21st birthday. We opted for the 15000 foot drop and paid for the video package for Lewis, worth every penny. All the ground staff were excellent and explained everything that would happen. After a short training session we met our instructors who were brilliant and quickly put everyone at ease. After kitting up we had a short wait then we were boarding the aircraft and pretty soon were a altitude. Fantastic views in all directions, including down! A quick shuffle and we were in the doorway and then we were out and skydiving. If you’ve ever thought about trying it, stop thinking and get booking. Skyhigh skydiving were first class and thanks to my instructor, Dave for making the experience brilliant.

It was absolutely terrifying, and if you don't equalise the pressure in your ears it can get quite uncomfortable but honestly I loved every second of the dive and the anticipation leading up to it. FIRST RATE ORGANISATION: Obvious thrills aside, I was most impressed by the polite staff and friendly atmosphere of this place. Occasionally found this place by google. Just had a life experience with instructor Dave, photographer Liam and the crew today. A great team, the bravest I think. There are sweet potato fries in the cafe bar, a surprise. Some tips for new comers: 1. If you don’t drive a car, stay near the place or book a taxi in advance if you come to skydiving originally. 2. Do a check list before you go, make sure you have everything ready: contacts, gloves. 3. Plan well for this experience I am not gonna tell you how I knew.

REPLY TO A REPLY: I didn't deduct any stars because of the wait time, however this did contribute to the experience being so-so. While it does say we're expected to be with you for the day, I struggle to understand why.... if you're managing bookings, and each jump time from take off is around 20-30 mins, and its a clear day..... why such delays? You're asking people to turn up at arrival times for what reason? 3 other jumpers on the day who had arrival times of 12pm all said the same thing. When you go on holiday its "advised" to arrive 2hrs before a flight, which has a dedicated take off time. Not sure how you can compare a sky dive and an airport. Airlines don't say "turn up at 6am and we may take off at 12pm, but this could be 3pm, please expect to be in the waiting lounge all day". Leg straps...... do you think I approached the plane in pain????? What a daft thing to imply. Obviously when the kit was put on I didn't know they were too tight until I was plummeting to the ground at 125mph. Surely your staff would know what's too tight and what isn't? I jumped with you 3 years ago and it was spot on. I think I'll jump with Bridlington next time. While I appreciate your reply, it does feel like (both over email, call and a review) you're quite defensive and dismissive when someone points out the negatives. Bit of a farce booking to start with. Got booked for a 12pm attendance on a day that was clear blue skies. Yet didn't jump until 3.40. No updates or anything. Not sure why we had attendance times if jump times are 3.30hrs later with induction times only 15mins long. Leg straps were on way too tight. Too late to sort out when you're 15k in the air. Leg straps ruined my jump. Jumped before and this wasn't a problem. I've jumped in the past with Sky High and was massively impressed, but massively let down this time hence only giving a 3 star review.

15k jump fantastic , make sure, if you get it as a gift , that they confirm what jump you are getting. They said mine was only a 10k jump , and had to pay extra , luckily I found the gift certificate , with a signed confirmation on the back that had the 15k jump on it. They refunded the money afterwards. A minor but irritating mix-up , they should be more careful. BUT that aside, fantastic guys 'n' girls for training and the jump itself , what a thrill , top notch , one of the best things ever! Get there , and get yourself thrown out!

Bought a Tandem Skydive for my 40th birthday, I was a little apprehensive as jumping out of a perfectly good plane wasn't top of my list of things to do but I do like to try everything. Got to the Centre and completed the training quickly, then got the kit on and was in the air within an hour. Once at altitude the door opened and before I knew my legs were hanging out of the plane then we were falling back to earth at apparently 120mph! a quick spin and some more falling for 25 seconds and then the parachute opened and it all went calm and peaceful. Plenty of time to take in the Durham countryside and the views over the North Sea before landing back the airfield. I would also highly recommend having a video as it was all a bit of a blur at the start and being able to watch it back has been great and well worth it. A thoroughly great experience that I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone at Peterlee Parachute Centre made it as enjoyable as it gets. Many thanks to everyone there.

I tried tandem skydiving about a year ago, was in my to-do list. Skydiving, Bungee jumping or any other adventure sports is for pushing your boundaries out of comfort zone. The experience with skydiving academy was great, extremely friendly and professional members. My instructor was one of the best skydivers and gave me 2 simple instructions to follow during the jump. The skydiving (tandem) is for first timers (un-experienced) where a professional diver ties you up with him and takes the lead in the dive, so that you enjoy the free fall ( weightlessness). The step for Tandem skydiving includes 1) training and instructions followed by 2) the actual jump, which may be on same or a different day depending on the weather condition. My Experience during the jump 1) During free fall: Awesome!! However, as the g-force increased my ear began to pop (just like during take-off or landing of an aircraft but greater in magnitude) 2) When Parachute opened: Felt like vomiting ( controllable, didn't do it). It's obvious because of sudden stop ( yours instructor carry sickness bag😉) But then the beauty of county Durham is a treat specially when you scroll around the sky like a bird. 3) Legs up and Landed safely Overall, relaxing experience and builds up your confidence. Suggestions: 1)The main fun is in the free fall so the longer the free fall more fun it is. Try the max altitude jump (15,000 ft) 2)Try a jump on a clear sky day, although if you have the fantasy of jumping on clouds you can try. 3) Get your self photographed / video during your jump. Save it for life time. 4) Groupons have some discounted coupons during the off season (somewhere in December or January), but the weather is mostly cloudy.
