Reviews of Abbey Park
o. A.
Absolutely stunning. Such a lovely park to walk around, so much to see. From a sensory garden, a pets corner, mini railway and a boating lake. Not to mention a beautiful oriental garden. One of the best places to visit, for all ages. Great access too, with a cheap car park. Would absolutely visit again

Hey you want to enjoy your spare time 😜 then yes come to this park. It's make your day. You'll love this park. Come with friends and family. Lots of fun you guys can make it. Children play ground, Gym, Pets house, much more you can see here. Just come in sunny day 😉.
S. S. N.
A Very large and well-maintained park, can easily take a full day's time spent. The large play area and swans will keep the kids entertained. There is a small lavender field to add to your entertainment if you visit during the seasons.
K.
One of the most beautiful spots in Leicester! Sadly, but to get to the park you have to pass this factory zone with broken windows and graffiti… but after it there is a huge park with magnificent views, huge bright flowerbeds, cute birds, rivers and even a little Asian garden! Highly recommend to visit on Leicester. Must be on your visit list!!!
T. O. (.
I love coming to this park for walks and exercise, especially in the mid-morning. It is also a very nice place to come with your family to have picnics, enjoy the kid's park and feed the wildlife in the open water areas they reside in. There is also a ruins area, a miniature railway and lots of other fun things to see and do!
S. S.
A park with all the natural parts. You'll never miss taking the experience to heart and the Peace the environment offers is priceless. If you like simple and calm then this park is what you need.
P. A.
Lovely park, really close to city centre if wanting to combine the two. It was our first visit and it started to rain. Would be lovely for a picnic in the summer.
H. G.
Nice Park split by the river Soar with open and wooded areas, boating pond with water fountains in, a play park for the children, Abbey ruins, Chinese garden, café and public toilets, car park was reasonably priced at 1 for up to 2 hours on a Saturday.
L. R.
This is such a beautiful park, and it's hard to believe it isnt far from Leicester city centre. The gardens are really well maintained, and there are lots of areas to look around! From pets corner, the play area, the outdoor gym, the boating lake...the list goes on. Perfect for families. Will definitely be visiting again next time I'm in the area!

Came here for the fair they had
Got parking which I was surprised but parked around the back. Lots of rubbish Parking tho. I’ve got kids so kinda hard when driver park over or on the white line.
Took a walk into the park. Very nice and quite so if you didn’t want to come for the fair the noise wouldn’t of bothered you
Que was massive to get in but went down quick
Place was clean and bins everywhere. Nice rides for all ages. Rides were reasonably priced
Good place to go spend a few hours
Would go again. After we took a walk round the park. Shame to see rubbish on the floors 🙁 but can’t change some people
A. M.
Loved the park with the enclosed areas, cafe, Abbey ruins and the open spaces. All we did was walk around and talk while finding little hidden gems along the way.
M. A.
An incredibly cosy and lovely park. What I enjoy most is the Chinese garden inside. It’s gorgeous in any time of the year.
B. S.
Lovely local park split in two by a bridge over the water.
There is a pet corner and play area, plenty to see and do even if just for a walk
Y. B.
A spot to unwind for the entire day!! To enjoy the nice vibes, get some food and play some games!! Come on sunny days for additional amusement.
R. M.

Good cycle stop.

Full of landscapes surrounded by flora & fauna. A restaurant and the bridge on soar and nectar garden ... and much more to explore in Leicester. Leicester people are lucky to have such beautiful place to breathe fresh.
C. H.
Lovely morning on the park today with my 2 Yr old Granddaughter. Park in immaculate condition, grass and flowers beautiful with work ongoing. Play area superb, and clearly defined for the different ages. Parking machines not working today but would only be £1 for 2 hours. Bargain. Will definitely visit again soon
N. D.
Leicester English Bull Terrier Walk every month, a brilliant day out at Abbey Park with great friends and brilliant dogs.
Feb 2022. Another fabulous Bully walk despite the weather.
N. J.
Well kept gardens, nice walk around.
Nice lake in the middle with lots of natural wildlife; fantastic for photography. Also lots of places with shade so great for a picnic
(best to take your rubbish with you as there aren't many bins around)
The Summer Fun Fair currently takes up a large portion of the main open grounds but there are more open spaces further back towards the Abbey Lane and Arena ends.
However paths could do with Jetwashing (there alot more than goosemuck on there!)
They also closed off a couple of walk-in entrance/exit points so you could be walking up a path only to realise you're walking into a fence.
M. B.
Great place to walk around or play with the kids. Boating lake, abbey ruins, surrounded by a canal and a river
K. C.
Beautiful park, lovely flower garden. Well sign- posted. Lovely little train ride. Great historical elements. Well worth a visit.
S. S.
A lovely walk in wonderfully calming enviroment. It has history, views, a river, lake and easy parking...a gem of a park...
A. S.
An awesome park in the heart of the city. Plenty of flat open space, perfect for my little toddlers who are learning to scoot. Note, the car park only accepts coins and you cannot pay via app. Beside that little inconvenience, easily the best park I’ve been to in this region.
P. P.
A tranquil oasis in the middle of busy Leicester.
Wonderful place for an outing, play date or simply to enjoy your lunch.
Large grass areas to play, picnic or walk the dog.
Paths to follow & explore.
Water to sit & reflect besides
Enjoy your visit
G. M.
Wonderful large park . It was great to walk and see the Japanese garden, the lake, walk along the River Soar, the old scenic bridge, and of course the ruins of the Abbey and the cathedral

I've been going to Abbey Park for about 12 years now, (since I moved to leicester) and I must say I've noticed in the past few years it's simply turned more and more beautiful....it has peaceful serene vibes and its simply so well taken care of that I don't even feel I'm in a UK busy city..its just stunning and an amazing place for the whole family. I find it quite breath taking to be honest. ❤️
P. M.
An absolutely fabulous park . Great for a dog walk and a picnic.

There is a pets corner with rabbits. Gunea pigs goats and several types of birds
A full day could be spent here
C. P.
Absolutely love this place, I grew up not far from it and visited the park often, even more so when i had my own children. Not much has changed which I'm thankful for because it's still a favourite of mine and a great place to take the grandkids.
T. W.
Beautiful Sensory and 🐝 Bee's flower Garden... lovely to walk round the ruins with a coffee or hot drink from the Peppercorns cafe with a vegan or gluten free cake. A must visit!
a. l. e. k.
This is a great park . It has been a family favourite for years it’s great car park great for walking 🚶♂️ great for biking 🚴♂️ it has a funfair every year near May/ July .
And in summer. They have a cafe but it can be busy in bank holiday s and the summer food is very pricey but it is a place I do highly recommen
M. A.
Great for nature, wildlife, walking dogs, Chinese Gardens, water fun on the lake on the boats, cycling through, great children's play area and café, old historical walls remaining, pet corner, great for cricket, football, badminton, tennis, picnics etc.

R. B.
Had a guided tour with Steve who was brilliant. Park is a truly an asset to the city. Wish they could just spend a little more on it to restore all of its former glory.
H. E.
One of the best parks in Leicester, a 10-15 minutes walk from the city centre. Spending the weekend mornings there is the best decision. It is fairly a large park that you can have a full day out without getting bored. You can choose to sit next to one of the waterfronts either the river soar or the grand Union canal. Also, it is the perfect place to enjoy the blooming flowers and trees of spring. The boating lake has a lot of beautiful ducks, geese and swans that you can just sit and watch forever.
T. A.
Good place for family day out
J. W.
Abbey Park is in the centre of Leicester and Wonderful place to visit, our favourite local park, very well maintained as its the councils flag ship park.
S. W.
The park is lovely, safe and fab fun when the Easter fayre is in town

Stunning park. One of Leicesters many hidden gems.
Y. V.
Lovely park. Beautifully manicured with excellent colour from a large range of flowers. Nice walking circuit. Good play area, outdoor gym, miniature railway, boating lake, weir, cafe. Good car parking facilities - both free and paid options available.
A. F.
Nice place to go for a walk and chill out. Has toilets, ice cream van. Parking is a reasonable price £1 for a couple of hours.
Been alot of times and is now one of my favourite places to come for a walk and a sit down, (as live local). Cafe is really nice and do some nice drinks and food.
Kept really clean and very well maintained gardens though out.
A. A.
Really good for day out with kids. You can easily spent 3 hours without getting tired. Such to look around and do.
O. B. P.
Enjoyed it... and very affordable
M. M.
We just happened to come here while my husband had to attend a meeting in Leicester. It's great in size and absolutely beautiful. Fantastic to play hide and seek in. Loads of greenery, stunning trees, a play area, which was unfortunately closed due to lockdown, there's a cafe of some sort but was also closed. You could spend the whole day there and not get bored. A lovely place to have a walk and enjoy nature really. I'm in love with the trees lol il be sharing some of my pics. I'm glad there were toilets but they really need a clean!! Overall lovely park.
A. R.
Good for early morning walk.
j. t.
Great place . Maintained very well
R. M.
Very nice place indeed. Located in walking distance from city centre. Offers nice tracks for roller skating, beautifully crafted landscapes with little oriental style garden, lavender garden, mini zoo, tenis courts, big children play area and some historical monuments and ruins to explore. There is also mini railway track and pedal boats available at weekends. The bad thing though is fact that is surrounded by noisy roads and local restaurant offers quite bland and generic menu.
M. A.
Great for nature, wildlife, walking dogs, Chinese Gardens, water fun on the lake on the boats, cycling through, great children's play area and café, old historical walls remaining, pet corner, great for cricket, football, badminton, tennis, picnics etc.
D. M.
Beautiful well laid out park.lovely cafe for snacks and drinks.last visit the fair was there which was set up well with very clean toilets.great day out.
K. C.
Gorgeous space with a real variety of places to sit, walk, jog. Loads of nooks and crannies, ruins, river, mini-railway, wildlife and exquisitely kept gardens to feast your sense on. A real place of calmly entertaining nature and activity.
O. H.
Beautiful gardens dog friendly wide open spaces. If you like to picnic and you in Leicester United kingdom it's a nice summer's day retreat
S. S.
It's a great day out for a picnic or a leisure stroll through. When the 🌞 is out, there's lots of sunbathers. Brilliant for the family. Great outdoor space. Shame about the pot smokers though.
M. h.
A lovely, peaceful place to enjoy watching the ducks and squirrels and have a picnic. I visited for the 1st time yesterday and I've lived in Leicester for 16 years. I will certainly be visiting again soon.
c.
Who doesn't love Abbey Park? There's bit of everything in there, space, outdoor gym, play area, café, tennis courts, the greatest Miniature Railway and more :)
T. H. T.
Brilliant day for just £4 parking. The fair just happened to be there too. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and the lavender maze was in full bloom. Watch out if you're dog is a swimmer the water is really stagnant and smelly due to pond weed eutrophication. Some dead fish about which is a shame.
E. M.
Great family friendly park. Excellent for walks/bike ride. Ice cream vans situated around Park. Better Toilets need with easy access
H. D.
Great park with an interesting history. A good place for walks, running, cycling and picnics.
S. S.
Great running route and historic landmarks with well-annotated plaques outside each historic landmark. Very well-kept flower area (arbetorium!?), Seperate kids activity park, mini railway, cafe in the middle.
C. E.
Pqrk is nIce put I hate this kind of vandalism it's near the Oval Pavilion which is the peppercorn cafe it's the defibrillator and it's been vandalised with words saying like this it's absolutely disgusting what has Leicester come to lately, also I've reported it to the police and they're going to put it down as a vandalism report
J. W.
Beutiful Park for whatever time of the year, well maintained and good facilities.
D. P.
Friendly staff. Great for kids. Good fun especially if the weather is good. They laid down paths all around the fun fair as it was a little muddy! That was nice of them. Toilets aren't very good so take hand sanitizer!
C. S.
Lovely park. Took a pedal boat out on the lakes 6 pounds for a family ticket. Cafe very busy. We went there so my little boy could see and ride the miniature railway but it wasn't opened but the rest of the park made up for it.
B. p. K.
Very good place to have a walk on a Dunny Day. Beautiful and welcoming. Clean. Great for family walk too
G. R.
A lovely park with lots to look at the gardens are well looked after. There is a lot to play on in the park for kids of all ages and lots of places to sit /rest . The toilets could do with a clean .
S. T. T.
Large park in Leicester with river running through it. Plenty of birds to see. For children there is also the pets corner, with rabbits, goats, hamsters and an aviary. Kept the adults amused to.
The cafe in the pavilion serves breakfasts and lunches. Well worth stopping by.
R. I.
Beautiful park. The gardens are kept so nice and lots of hidden treasures 🏞️
D. W.
The park is spacious and not overly crowded even when it is busy. There is a play park for the kids, a pets corner, a minature rideon railway (limited opening), a river with ducks, geese and swans to feed and a fabulous new cafe (in the old pavillion), not to mention the abbey ruins (footings mostly i'm affraid darn reformation!!).
P. K.
An iconic Leicester that regularly holds fun fairs and other seasonal events.
Great Gardens to wander around (e.g. over the Chinese Bridge pictured) and/or stop off for ice cream near the gates (where ice-cream vans are often parked) there are also many other attractions such as a miniature train track and a small Zoo. Also featuring some historical ruined walls and house.
R. C.
Very good park with ample car park. good botanical garden with a dedicated area for flower beds. children play. neat and clean park for days out with family. there is a Boat ride in the park but doesn't seem to operate now a days.
I. M.
Superb walking through well kept and varied areas, along with a huge grass areas for families to picnic and play together. I love it...
K. J.
Great place for a walk. Lots of open green space. Boating lake and lots of wild life.
A. W.
Well maintained park. Beautiful gardens and paved paths. There are also numerous activities including boating. The main drawback is the large number of flying insects.
N. R. R.
Beautiful park to walk round. There's also a little pet area wit love birds, peacocks, gineapigs, goats and few other various birds also a Chinese themed garden + more
N. F.
There are some interesting features at the park but there should be more flowers in it at this time of year and the litter is disappointing.
G. H.
Been going since I was about 3 years old, I love it, now my kids do. Really big, great for kids and adults.
C. C.
A pleasant centre of town park with an interesting historical past and lots of water birds for our 1 year old grandson to enjoy. He also thoroughly enjoyed the puddles!
S. S.
We love Abbey Park, it’s a little slice of the countryside in the city! Lovely to walk the dog, a good path for pushchairs and wheelchairs all the way around, there’s water to enjoy, ducks, Swans, a playground, grown up outdoor gym equipment, ruins, a cafe.....what more could you want. Parking charges apply but it’s free for disabled drivers.
T. L.
A wonderful place to relax in - simply wandering around the paths within the Park looking at the attractive flower beds, the various mature trees , the birds, the ruins of Leicester Abbey, Cardinal Wolsey's statue and monument, the ruins of Cavendish House, the animals at Pets Corner, watching and/or going on the miniature railway or having a snack or meal at the Abbey Park Pavilion Cafe is a terrific way of unwinding and losing the stresses of modern everyday life. Try it, you'll enjoy it!
d.
Great for a nice stroll and to get a cuppa and a snack. Dogs are about and some not on Leeds, so be aware if your not sure with dogs. Great link to the city centre, space centre and Abbey pumping Station.
T. B.
Nice park if you fancy a walk best avoided in the afternoon during lockdown
J. R.
Nice park, generally clean with lots to do for everyone. Good ice cream shop/ cafe but huge queue that takes ages to go down when it's busy. The bloke in the ice cream van on the other hand knows how to keep the queue moving!
T. I.
A great park with lots of things to do. My son enjoys a walk around this park playing on the church ruins, messing around on the outdoor gym equipment and having a ride on the mini steam trains on a Sunday afternoon
J. D.
Lovely park plenty of space excellent toilet facilities, café does lovely hot chocolate, very nice on a cold day. Parking charges reasonable and less busy on a Friday afternoon.
S. K.
Lovely park to walk , play and explore. Full of history & has a great cafe with friendly staff
T. P.
Had a big family picnic here, near the bandstand. Weather was great, the park was busy (it was a sunday) but was still able to take over a small space for the 46 of us. Kids visited pets corner and had fun there. Small lake near middle has pedal boats but didn't partake due to the large amount of us. Planning our next party in the park already.
I. R.
I was on my Capital Ring Walk with a friend and we decided to add some geocaching to our walk. We did a little detour and we went to Abney Park. I was not expecting to walk through a cemetery! Still not sure how to feel about it. Interesting place. The squirel was throwing nuts? at people 😊
P. K.
Nice place to walk and cycle. Well maintained. Plenty of wildlife. Wish people would remember NOT to feed bread to the ducks and geese.
S. B.
Lovely area! Gardens, grass well looked after
Just a shame about the carpark
You pay to park but there glass everywhere which don't look good on 1st impressions
L. M.
Beautiful place to meet up with friends. Lots to see and keep all ages entertained.
V. M.
Lovely park fir the little ones to run around :)
M. H.
Probably the best park in Leicester. Has a park for the kids, free gym equipment, food shop and a pet corner. Beautiful place.
G. B. D.
Great park, nice break from the City if you are in Leicester, good size park with beautiful flower gardens and lakes, lots of open space.
N. S.
I visit regularly as it's a great park. There's a lot to do and some good little circuits to do for a bit of exercise and to explore the park. The pavillion cafe is now owned by Loros and do a good selection of food and drinks. The pets corner is still open. I can't remember a time when it hasn't been there to be honest. The park has changed over the years but still great for families with outdoor exercise equipment, a mini playground for little ones, a memorial garden, the ruins and boating lake.
K. J.
Such an atmospheric and beautiful park. I love walking and cycling here. I relax with my soul here. I recommend it!
A. A.
If you like to see green and flowers .. then yes. Highly recommended
R. C.
One of the best outdoor spaces in Central Leicester, animal corner, cafe, tennis courts, outdoor gym, multiple car parks. Ice cream vans always there.
K. A.
The best park in Leicester! A wonderful children's playground and sights for photographing. Doing sports is great here too.
Z. N.
Lovely walk and lots of outdoor area to play. It is close to shops and has easy access for everyone.
A. V.
Large waking area, clean throughout, exercising spots, children's play area, lakes, public facilities throughout I.e. toilets. Car parking facilities at a reasonable price. Well maintained gardens, trees, hedges etc. They also have a miniature railway with tracks, didn't see it functioning though.
Over all definitely recommended for a nice peaceful walk and or just to relaxation from a busy life style.. Certainly helps to de-stress.
L. H.
The park is just a 10 minute walk outside of the city centre, it has two lakes, a Japanese garden and a large play area for kids. The paths are all push and wheelchair friendly. It also has quite a large Pets Corner which has a large range of birds and small furry creatures.
A. B.
A park definitely worth visiting in Leicester.
Public toilets, outdoor gym, playground and even some tennis courts (best to book ahead)
J.
Great place to walk, run, or cycle. There is a cafe with restrooms at the side of the building. Lots of wide open spaces.

Lovely family visit. Nice cafe, kids enjoyed the ruins and pets corner. Beautiful gardens & trees. Only £1 parking on Sunday for all day. Didn't get to visit play area or miniature railway as started raining but we'll definitely come back! Recommend good shoes, lots of walking required

Abbey Park is a beautiful green space to relax and admire Leicester’s riverside scenery.
Opened in 1882 it's a formal Victorian park and includes flower gardens, a Chinese peace garden, walkways and green spaces. River Soar flows through the park providing a beautiful riverside to relax and enjoy.
If in Leicester, it's a must go place! I would recommend it.
R. (.
An amazing park and grounds which is well worth the visit especially on a hot summers day. The gardens are filled with wildlife and it is especially rewarding to see the squirrels, ducks and geese along the river plus it is a very enjoyable dog walking spot a wonderful place to relax in Leicester.
D. S.
As a boy of 12 and as a 55 year old I still enjoy walks in Abbey park
A. D.
Lovely park, space for young children, petting zoo is a treasure with four large play areas and exercise equipment for adults. Gardens are well worth seeing. Public transport and car parks at both entrances.

Lovely large park to enjoy an evenings stroll or for more! Visit the chinese garden, the kids park, topiary, pet's corner and the sense garden! Plenty to do and see for all.
F.
A must visit specially if you have lil ones who enjoy nature and just looking at every minute thing with wonder
D. F.
A fantastic park in the heart of Leicester city.
An oasis of green, river and wildlife.
m. b.
This park is the best place in Leicester to visit for a couple of hours and recover from the stress caused by the city noise & rush
R. G.
Great Park, I was here for a 10k race, great scenery and coffee shop
M. S.
Beautiful flowers, peaceful place. BE AWARE the ice cream van is very very expensive £3 for Small pot, with no prices on the screen you don’t know until you have it in your hand.
A. P.
Beautiful city park with a lake (pedlos in the summer), cafe, play area, pets corner, miniature train, tennis courts and Abbey ruins. A lovely spot in the middle of the city. Plenty of parking too.
p. k.
Really nice picnic place for family. Friends. Loads of activities to do nice walk
A. S.
This park is beautiful and probably one of the biggest ones in Leicester. It has lakes and lots of great picnic spots. There's also a great children's play area.
E. d. C.
It takes a whole day to see this park. I only saw 30% of it and loved it.
M. A.
Access is easy from any side of the city. The park itself is clean. Lots of ducks around but should not be fed. There is a small cafe on one side of the park which used to do hot food aswel but unsure what they are doing post covid.
Small car park on entrance to the park which is pay and display. It has some disabled parking spots.
Nice place for walks. In summers there is usually an ice cream truck around.
H. B.
Very nice environment. Quite a look to see and enjoy
C. A.
Beautiful place. Park, lots of great space. Perfect for qalking a dog. Kids play area. Pets Corner. Cafe. Lovely time out
c. n.
Very quiet and relaxing, gardens very nice, plenty to look around at.
G. A.
Lovely park.....dont eat at the pavilion cafe if busy.....short staff or just very very slow & get mixed up with orders . Crisps out of date too....stay clear if you're in a rush or v hungry
M. M.
Lovely place for a stroll on a frosty Sunday morning or any morning. It's kept clean and an overall nice place to visit
A. F.
Lovely park. Not what it once was. The oriental district was filthy andnrat infested. Rest of the park is amazing as always. And the cafe is still incredible under the new management.
A. G.
Lots of nature to see and things to do, very peaceful and relaxing. Normally pedal boating lake and miniature railway ride although not sure if this is running again yet. Playground, outdoor gym, tennis courts, pets corner, nature walks. Cafe is great, good selection of food and vegan alternatives. The only thing that lets this place down are the toilets, they badly need a refurb.
S. R.
Clean, well maintained and very peaceful park. Great for anyone and lots of space for families, pets or anything in between. On the day we went there was also a fair which was a nice addition. Plenty of parking in the nearby carpark although I imagine in busy days the spaces would run out quickly.
f.
Great place to take kids and explore. There are ruins to climb on, lavender maze to solve, ducks to feed, large playground to play on and a pets corner. So much space to play football and lovely smooth paths for scooters and bikes. There is a cafe too and sometimes an ice cream van and toilets in a couple of locations. It's a big enough place to have lots of room and the flowered garden area is a lovely place for a picnic. There is also a boating lake and a small train that runs at certain times and a couple of car parks that are cheap to park in. A lovely place to take kids to pass a couple of hours in the fresh outdoors. Highly recommend.
T. S.
Excellent place for many a thing, picnics, walking, visiting the animals in the pet corner, feeding the ducks and the cafe is nice as well in the middle they serve some nice flavoured ice creams in the summer as well as little cake bites and cups of tea, my daughter loves visiting and looking at the squirrels 🙃
A. M.
Great for walking the dog, needs more dog waste bins, could only find 1 for dog waste, rest were for normal rubbish waste. Considering how many people there with dogs, defo need more doggy waste bins.
D. L.
Good park with lots of different areas; nice bridge over the water in there too
Y. P.
Beautiful this time of the year
G. W.
Took the grandchildren there. They loved it. Fed the ducks. Went to see a he animals and then on the swings a slides.
J. K.
Peaceful and beautiful to look at. Lilly pads floating on the lake make it look scenic. Beautiful sound of water falling relaxes your mind. Squirrels producing around give you a sense of tranquillity.
D. C. (. C.
I have been visiting this park for many years but it never disappoints so many different spaces and views to enjoy.
A. S.
Stunning park with lovely walks, playgrounds and ruins
G. C.
Very nice atmosphere with lots of cool surroundings. Good place to take children
P. H.
Beautiful views, lots of ducks. A Cafe in the middle (didn't go inside but you could eat in or out)
They have a pets corner which has birds, rabbits, Guinea Pigs and a goat. Toilets available too.
R. H.
A lovely place for a family outing. Handy parking at a reasonable cost.
K. B.
Lots of trees you wouldn’t normally see out in the woods together in one place. Willow, London Plane, Lime trees and December blossom of the Japanese Sakura Cherry tree.
K.
A lovely place for a stroll. I took my 5 year old grandaughter. We fed the ducks and geese. Followed the numerous paths. We didn't use the cafe but was nice to see it open. Unfortunately pets corner was closed so that was a bit disappointing after promising to show her some animals. We then went on to the children's playground. The weather wasn't great so a lot of it was wet through. We will return on a drier day. We still enjoyed our trip out, got some fresh air and exercise.
A. J. S.
A very nice ecperience
I recommend it to everyone it is nice clean and quiet !
P. P.

Lovely scenes of nature. Best place to relax and meditate
C. C.
Such a pleasure to be back there and picnicking with family again.
As usual lots to see, including newly married couples having photo shoots in the splendid flower gardens and elders enjoying crown bowls again.
The Japanese garden area was a little run down with peeling paint and clogged water areas.
I am sure that the team will rectify this soon.
K. P.
Large open space near the city centre with a range of interesting aspects: River Soar flows through the centre; fragrant lavender maze; central cafe with some indoor & some outdoor seating; fascinating ruins of the abbey which children can clamber over. There were lots of information boards. Slight shame that Pet's corner was closed.
S. K.
A bigger than ave park to walk around. Goid flower beds and pen ground to play games. There is a converted double decker bus into a cafe and a pets corner.
d. t.
Good place..
Peace full nature..
Lovely location for reading,
for yoga, for vipasyana...
But careful with time line..
I was stuck there...
m. b.
the most beautiful park in leicester
L. B.
Beautiful space for time out. Very popular in holidays but masses of space for everyone to sit, play family games and walk. Lovely planted areas, riverside walks, Abbey ruins, pets area and a big cafe. Car parks get very full as they're not massive.
A. H.
Great space with the old abbey layout. Also don't forget to check out pets corner
W. D.
Lovely park only a short walk from the space centre.
N. S.
Variety of things to do and see. Relatively good parking. Nice Gardens and plenty of routes to walk around

Abbey park is absolutely lovely. It has a nice water way where there are plenty of ducks and swans to admire, a massive green for ball games or a picnic,a network of paths all the way round for those who like to walk and finally a miniature railway. If your local go and enjoy this little gem.

Lovely place to spend an afternoon with the family. Plenty of open spaces to relax or play, go for a walk around the Abbey ruins, and for the younger children there's a playground and a pets corner to interest them.
i. i.
Action shot of the kids on their wheels
T.
Well kept tidy gardens with plenty to see. The park also includes a boating lake, minature railway and Japanese gardens.

Too many people not sticking to the guidelines for covid also too many people taking alcohol and drugs which I see every time I'm there feel a bit insecure

Lovely outdoor park in all seasons but especially the summer. Very big so it never feels crowded. During peak times parking can be scarce so walk or cycle if possible. For kids there's a pets corner and a play area so nobody feels left out.

A. A.
Lovely green space with playground, outside gym, large greens for ball games the Abbey walls, small menagerie of animals, gardens, boat lake, cafe and plenty of space to walk. And all on the periphery of the city. I would recommend
W. H.
I look this this place I use to hang around here 30 years ago so brought back loads of memory's it has not changed at all
L. R.
A large park with average things to do. You can see the ducks and the swans in the river. There's space to play outdoor activities, plus at times there'll be the funfair in town so the kiddos can play.
J. G.
Yes had a lovely day with my grandson, went to the park , fed the ducks. It was busy but nice the only thing I was really disappointed about was the state of the water it was thick alge and lots of rubbish im surprised the birds can swim in it
C. L.
Best place for long walks and fresh air in Leicester
J. E.
Great place for kids and dogs, and cafe in center very welcome
K. A.
One of the vast and well maintained parks of Leicester. River Soar is passing through this park on one side. Where, bird lovers can come and feed swans and geese. There is miniture Railway, a pond with Boating in the middle of park and a round paved track for cycling and Jogging. CAFE AND toilet facilities are also present. car Parking facilities with reasonable price.
K. E.
The jewel in Leicester city's crown, a fantastic park well maintained and something for everyone. The Pavilion café run by Peppercorns is a great stop off for hot drinks in winter and cold in summer as well as being dog friendly.
j. b.
The flower gardens are lovely. Nice cafe for something to eat and drink lovely to walk round
K. E.
Beautiful park with lots of different areas to enjoy, whether that's enjoying waterside wildlife, finding a quite serene spot for reflection, playing sports or using the outdoor gym and play equipment. Something for everyone.
D. M.
The place looks so dirty , this kind of place deserve 5 stars ... 3 been written off just because administration is not doing its job properly. Go on put you employees on work ! Clean it up ! Spring is here !!! 2 stars up as it has been cleaned.
A. S.
Huge fantastic park with a variety of things to do. Pets corner is great for the kids, the sand park is great for the kids too. Just a shame both were closed due to covid-19.
Great for a bike ride, tennis courts are also available. Outdoor gym is good too. There's a lake where you can hire pedalo's and explore the lake. Large green spaces for outdoor sports and picnics.
Parking is an issue in the summer months due to how busy it gets. The ice cream van is a ripoff, stay clear in my opinion! But it is an all round amazing park.
U. M.
This park is beautiful and huge, there is so much to do. There is the chinese area, big CLEAN fields for children to play, the ice cream Van's ice cream was delicious, and there are hills and flowers and historical thing like ruins of buildings and it is mesmerising. You have to walk a lot but it's amazing. Such a pretty place. Upon entering there is soo many pretty flowers and the grass is cut so well it looks fake. I just laid down there, it was so nice. I felt like I was in a different country, like Italy. I've never seen such a beautiful park in UK (I'm from London).
c. s.
Lovely park to walk round, clean and well kept, pavilion cafe good selection of food and drinks, friendly staff, family friendly park to spend a day,.
D. A.
Pleasant park and grounds with easy parking. Well kept although the Chinese/Japanese garden was a bit of a disappointment. Seems to be a haven for the homeless. Not a place I would go after dark.
G. K.
Everything is nice except hard to find a toilet )
S. L.
A beautiful park, wonderful grounds, flower beds, walkways, lakes, and plenty of it to just enjoy..not to mention the cute little pets corner..toilets and cafe, parking from just £1 for up to 2 hours..whats not to like..love it!!
R. M.
A lovely park for all the family. Well maintained. Great for walks and something for the whole family. Just off the city centre. A tranquil place
C. E.
Gorgeous park for a walk and loads of different trails to choose to do longer or shorter walks around all the different bodies of water! Very historic place!
M. W.
Nice place to visit. Childens play area could be better looked after. Pets corner the cafe and floor garden are worth a visit. The park is level so good for anyone who wants easy exercise, overal a very good place to visit.
A. P.
Spent a lovely day with friends in the park, went around the little farm and had a picnic. Would've liked to go on the train, but it was closed for a private party.
K. W.
Nice big park with several different areas offering different activity choices, really nice safe place with a cafe and some ice cream Van's dotted about. The only downside is the toilets were filthy and I was completely over powered by the smell of urine in the toilets. Generally a nice place but make sure you dont need a wee before you go✌
S. H.
Nice park... good atmosphere... recommended....
N. G.
Amazing , refreshing place to visit
I. “. K. O.
Nice park, pretty clean except a few small areas. Not too many dogs. Good size.
d. A.
Fantastic location for a good walk. The environment is lovely, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The flowers, plants, rivers and nice small gardens to relax. Highly recommended.
B. P. (.
One of the best parks I ever visited, especially in summer time.
S. P. R.
Super place for day out has a small free animal corner where you can see animals for free has great water features and good play area for children also has alot of events on and a reasonable price cafe very close also to town centre
H. M.
Great park situated just outside of Leicester city centre. The river Soar runs right through the centre.
Lots of open space for ball games etc.
There are two toilet blocks including disabled toilets which needs a Radar key.
Nice cafe on one side of the river.
There are ruins of the abbey, so is rich in history.
Lots of trees, shrubs and flowers. The rose garden is really nice during the summer.
Theres also a boating lake, which is great in the summer if the boats are open.
Entry is free and there is some pay and display car parking. There is also some free parking on Abbey park road.
O. A.
It is most beatufull park in Leicester. There is alot of ducks, bears and some animals
B. S.
Enjoyed watching grandchildren play here very clean 👍
d. c.
Nice big park...have nice views, good place to go to a walk or sometimes for pick if weather allows you
S. J.
This is a lovely outdoor space, it has lots to offer, including the history of the church which existed here, now only the footprint exists.
There's a lovely lake which has a slight fall that creates that soothing waterfall sound. An outdoor gym which has lots of apparatus. It's a fairly large park which you can easily spend an hour or two.
S. C.
A good place to take the kids or just to go for a strole the park as a variety of things to see and do from pet corner historical church ruins and the Chinese gardens and theres a cafe here in case you want a drink or a quick bite to eat on your travels
M. J. A.
Lovely place for a walk and chill out
A. G.
A great big park with a nice pets corner
U. c.
Big park...but play area dirty...
T. N. M.
I can walk 24 hours in the park because it's life-ful
K. M.
Excellent park and great fireworks on November the 5th
a. a.
This is the second time I visited the park. It's as nice as before.
It is indeed an amazing place, nice view from hill top worth to visit during sunset time. Massive play area for kids, walking trail next to lake. Lot of greenery and big ground for family picnic . Highly recommended for kids and family
S. H.
It's just a lovely city park
N. D.
Nice weather needed the timenout away from the house. Not that busy there was a fair wow what a rip off expensive rides and only for 2 minutes. Other than that not bad.
S. M.
A park full of history and a nice mix between off the path exploration and manacured gardens.
There is a Chinese garden, cafe, ruins site where you can learn about the old Abbey and a pets corner. When I was young a small steam train used to run in the park, which was very much fun. I am unsure about whether this still exists, but if it does I would recommend it.
J. B.
Me and my daughter love coming here, lots of space to run around, ducks to see and she loves the kids play area. Looking forward to being able to go after covid and visit pets corner and the cafe.
R. P.
Very very very beautiful...so beautiful ...amazing....
A. W.
Mini railway, lake with peddle boats, ducks, grass, geocaching, a really nice place to spend a sunny day edit: beware being in there arround closing time, they start closing a locking internal gates well before t main outside gates are shut and you may quickly find your short walk out is a long long round trip to find the next hole in the fence
C. Y.
Maybe the Abbey was disenfranchised by Henry VIII. A possibility my friend from Guildford was musing as we caught up after 18 years out of contact. I love Abbey Park. It's a beautiful bit of land especially when the sun is shining.
G. M.
Very pleasant & not overcrowded. Minus 1 star as Peppercorn Cafe shut until Monday, 12th. July (being refurbished) so couldn't get a drink. Hey Hoe❣
R. B.
Very nice
J. D.
Went for socially distance visit with Daughtet in law and grandchildren. Parking a problem but plenty of space in park along with seating - both bench and tables where we had a picnic. Children had great time on their scooters. Play area and animal area not open, cafe was but TOILETS WERE NOT which cut short a visit.
D. C.
Lovely park for all the family
A. A. G.
Too bad for the fun park. I mean, scam park.
M. U.
Quite decent few walkways are dead ends, the benches are all around the park but it does need more toilets. Which needs to be cleaned regularly. More bins have been allocated due to the pandemic and remove waste which is a good thing. The park overall needs to be maintained more often. Amazing for small picnics with family and friends.
k. e.
Always lived this park even when I was younger now I enjoy taking my daughter. Its great for family walks and picnics. The pets corner is always a crowd favourite and plenty of areas to walk around and enjoy. The ducks and geese are friendly too.
M. L.
The best way to relax in the city centre 😊👍
S. P.
One of the best parks I've been to so far! Playground for the kids available. There is an animal corner as well. During the spring and summer you can ride a little train, as well as rent a pedal boat. Ideal place to spend some time with your little ones, perfect for a picnic. You can also play football with friends in there.
K. H.
A fantastic park full of interest. Check out the old Abbey ruins and the link to Cardinal Wolsey!. Lots of lovely river walks and green spaces. Kids area as well so very much a place for all ages. There is a nice cafe on site and toilets. Only a short walk into the city centre.
M. S.
Seasonal fayre in full swing, other areas of park quite for walks and relaxing. All areas very clean and well maintained.
E. R.
Lovely afternoon out with the kids.
H. D.
Abbey Park is one of the largest park in Leicester. Blessed with children's playground large grounds for sports flower gardens and well maintained landscapes and trees.
M. D. F.
Absolutely gorgeous park. Very relaxing and soothing. Very well maintained and staff working at the boat rental are fantastic. Very large so there's plenty to explore, and the boating lake is a real treat. Recommend coming here for a picnic and a boat ride with a loved one!
S. E.
Large area with places of interest. Plenty of areas so sit along with beautiful gardens. Places for kids to play and feel free
R. S.
Very pleasant feeling for a long walk and nice environment for all family and mostly children. Very clean and tidy park and thanks to all volunteers putting so much effort so we all can enjoy.
A must walk at Abbey Park.
S. B.
Historical and beautiful park with so much to do. The playgrounds are great for all ages of children.
It is one of the few places where you can relax with your children riding their bikes enjoying the beautiful park.
The only improvement could be the cafe which seems to have deteriorated somewhat in recent months.
Super place to go for fresh air, exercise with or without kids.
A. B.
Very beautiful place away from city, always great for a walk or cycle through.
B. R.
Spring was just Springing and the all the buds were bursting forth. The trees were magnificent and the Sky was stunning blue, many people were out there ...just enjoying it too.
C. M.
Only one cafe open which was a shame as there was quite a few people about
M. R.
It's a pleasure to walk 🚶♂️ in gods creation 🙏 ✨ 🙌 😊 😀 such a lovely place for peace.
k. s.
Nice, family friendly park to visit.
M. G.
Excellent green areas for ball games with the kids. High quality children's play area with something for all ages with the two different parts. There is a little train that you can ride around, again a fantastic activity for the kids to enjoy!
V. C.
Very nice place to visit, we loved it. Clean park and we also had a nice time watching a miniature boat. Train was unfortunately closed up, would love to see what it's like. All in all it was a relaxing experience, would definitely recommend a visit 😀
K. R.
Beautifully maintained local park with a cafe and outdoor seating. Also an enclosed dog exercise field where our greyhound can safely run free.
G. B.
Parking charges apply but it’s free for disabled drivers.
j. b.
Wonderful Park in the city centre. Always clean and tidy and the grounds are very well maintained. Weekend dog meets on a Sunday at 10/11am in the enclosure is great for socialising and fun for the dogs. We love it here.
M. M.
Amazing gardens, flowers, bridges, lakes and views simply delightful
A. D.
Abbey park is beautiful. The secret Japanese gardens in the middle are gorgeous. Make sure you check out the ruins towards the top of the park. If you have kids there's a closed gate park which is maintained well. The toilets aren't very inviting but it is a public park. The flower garden is well maintained and looks great with a few benches dotted around.
M. L.
Beautifully landscaped park
R. S.
Such a lovely place to visit. I spent most of lockdown No. 1 here either running or cycling. I got to discover so much of the park. Great for families and wildlife.
R. G.
A mixed experience. The park is big and well kept, with plenty of nice spots, trees, water, playground, etc.
On the other hand, there was rubbish all over the place, which was a shame and a stark contrast with how well maintained everything seemed to be.
i. o.
Definitely one of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen in my life. Gardens, lakes, ducks, trees all there to be admired. Great place for a walk, picnic or a bike ride. Perfect place to spend some time surrounded by the outstanding beauty of the nature.
C. V.
Big park, ride on steam trains, lakes, playbacks, cafe, river runs through, events are held here and can be very picturesque at times
S. S.
Brilliant park. Very well kept and tidy. Play area is very nice and parking is cheap.
P. G.
Beautiful n peaceful.. Amazing variety of trees n flowers are in full bloom. Lots of families enjoying the park n children running around everywhere. Very refreshing for morning walk before breakfast. Very well maintained, always clean n welcoming.
K. S.
Fine sport ground, play grounds and lots of places for walking. Plus tennis ground and mini zoo.
J. W.
Love this place it's awesome!!!
Great for a day out and spend time with the kids or loved ones. Maybe a romantic walk in the scenery and things to do to take photographs if that is what you like there is a lovely little Cafe on the middle of the park if you require a refreshment and that is reasonably priced but usually busy with public toilets at the side of the cafe
V.
Abbey Park is a great get away from the noise of cars and the hustle and bustle of the city. Always clean and lots to do. Whether it be sit out of the way taking in the sun or visiting the animals in the pet corner. There is a boating lake and play sta for the kids. Tennis courts that are open all year round. Great for dog walking too
R. G.
Excellent park for stroll, dog walking and even cycling. Cafe available (check opening times). Mini railway operates certain times of year.
F. B.
Spacious and lovely! Lots of birds like ducks, geese, cormorants and doves! Good for walking and playing. If you are a runner or jogger, get around the park ways inside several times and you will have a good sweat. You may walk your dog too but keep it on lead!
J. B.
A tranquil open space right next to the city centre with lots of history and historic ruins to explore. Take a picnic or just a leisurely stroll.
The model railway and boating lake are a real bonus.
M. D.
A very nice spot near the centre of the city to walk. It's large, has several car parks, is generally tidy and well kempt with lots of waterfowl to entertain the granddaughters. Come spring and summer, then the park explodes with colour but even a cold winter's morning has its virtues.
Abbey Park incidentally is dog-friendly with well-behaved dogs allowed to run off lead.
Always worth a visit.
R. N.
Lovely park go now and then
A. W.
Beautiful well maintained city park . Worthy of a couple of hours walk.
M. a. C. W.
Abbey park is spacious and very well looked after and plenty of room to avoid other people, I will be going there again very soon. And I don't remember seeing any liter any wear.
M. K.
It's a very astronomical and beautiful park. Family friendly park, dog friendly and to walk around. It's a massive park you can do as many activities you want to. 😅
s. m.
I have been a visitor to this beautiful park since I was pushed through it in a pram. It remains beautiful with a great collection of trees, the Japanese garden, pets corner and the sensory gardens. It's comforting to have the Cardinal Wolsey and Henry Tudor influence in Leicester. What a richness of history. A miniature train ride will assist in your children being excited by travelling through the trees, shrubbery and over water. There is a well maintained children's playground, a fitness area and the peppercorn cafe to recharge your energy to see more. A pleasure and delight remains after sixty years of visiting for me.
S. S.
Beautiful park and beautiful ambience. It is well maintained and very huge with loads of stuff to do. The lake is not very clean but makes you feel relaxed looking at ducks. There was also miniature ship race stuff going on at one end which engrossed us into it making it even more special. Overall great place to hangout with friends, family and even alone. Its serene !!!

A city centre park, great place to see a little water, play on the childrens park, cricket area, flower garden, cafe, parking. Lots of events take place here, and theres a little history with remains available to investigate. Great open space

Well maintained park with very accessible pathways. Loads of parking. Family friendly with a playground and miniture railway but loads of quiet walks with little hideaway spots. Very pretty with lots of nature to enjoy
T. C.
Brilliant place to take children to let off steam, walk dogs, for a lovely stroll around, to take exercise or just to look at nature
T. R.
Very nice clean park with cafe & boating lake. There's a nice fenced off children's play area & exercise equipment on the park. If you have children then the little train that is open every Sunday in the summer from 12 noon is a must, they have both diesel & steam trains.

Public park, area of historical ruins, has cafe, enclosed area for kids. Often holds events such as fairs and bonfire night activities. Toilets are pretty much central, cafe and a toilet block. Has a lovely Chinese style peace garden. Small lake for a boat ride, sometimes has the minautire railway running which is run I think by volunteers. 10 minutes walk from city centre approx.

👌👌👌I love strolling around the park, watch the ducks in the water, go and see the animal and bird section, get the kids to watch or ride the mini steam train. Sun our selves, admire the flower garden. If the fun fair is in, especially during the school holidays, the kids loves all sorts of rides. Watch the fireworks display at the end of the year. Buy some ice cream for the kids and in general enjoy the wide open spaces!!!!
Sometimes when I need time to think, ponder on a few issues, I take a drive and take a leisure stroll around and enjoy the breeze ❤️

Beautiful park all year round, love to take children and dogs there. My children love the little ride on steam train open holidays and weekends for a £1 a ride and the large play areas. There small cafe and usually a few ice cream vans about, a Parking is free after 6pm and on Bank Holidays, I belive the rest of the time is £3 a day.

Beautiful park, visited here with my family not too long ago. Great for a nice walk or run in every season. Would certainly recommend for anyone, especially families looking to get out!
S. W.
Love coming here with family, the petting corner is great and lovely little cafe for a snack. The grounds are kept really well and if you visit during the school hols, you'll be sure to see all the fun of the fair at the funfair!
D. Q.
This park looks tired. The flower beds are going over but still look good.
The lake for the small yacht and boats is nothing short of a disgrace. Full of green weed, and not possible to sail the boats.
Come on parks department, get your act together and sort this issue.
J. M.
Nice park

Great Park Close enough to the Space Centre to warrant one of my favourite photos!
P. L.
Love it here! Great dog walk, fun for the kids in the park, or enjoy feeding the birds.
The cafe needs to up its game. Can be slow service at the weekend and the food is slightly disappointing.

Wonderful park just outside city centre. Cardinal Woolsey Abbey ruins wonderful weir wildlife pets corner children's play area busy cafe football cricket pitches bandstand landscape gardens events also take place over year cars agriculture fireworks fun fair etc locked at night time. Well worth a visit when in the fantastic city of Leicester.

Love this park my mum worked in the cafe upstairs in the war making camouflage nets so it has my own family connection. The abby ruins are great and the gardens kept beautiful. Don't use the loos near the boat lake they are vile go upstairs in the cafe.
C. M.
Big open space with beautiful flower gardens, walkways, boating lake , a band stand, pets corner, tennis courts cricket grounds kids park,
Some free car parking in places. It's a slice of peaceful countryside smack in the middle of a busy City. . . . .

Nice place, really big. There is also a small luna park, a lot of green areas and an old castle 🏰, destroyed through the time. That's all
B. N.
Place to play games with children around the green grassland.Kids always enjoy trips to abbey park to run around .👍
B. S.
Great place to enjoy the fresh air coming off the plants and trees. Lake running through with lots of different birds, ducks 🦆 and geese. Also a great place to get fit with the outdoor machines and people jogging around the oval. Fun to be had by all. Not forgetting the mini zoo for the young ones.

Awesome place to visit...😍

Animals, trees, light breeze and the peace. Its so peaceful. You can just walk around and enjoy the scenery and the nature. It's calm. You can sit by the lake and enjoy the smell of nature. As a nature lover, this was one of my favourite places in Leicester when I was a student. Its a half an hour walk from city centre but the walk is worth it once you get there. There are fun fairs and other events occasionally. The Leicester Bonfire is a major event held in this Park at the end of the year. Don't miss it. Overall this is one place, any Visitors or New students of Leicester should go visit.

Big & Beautiful, Abbey park has alot to offer, massive green areas, shop, loos, uses to have paddle boats but unsure if they are still an attraction. Billy Bates fair is there quite often which always attacks lots of ppl along with a big fireworks display in Nov. Great place to take kids of all ages
R. L.
Lovely park if there no homeless or drunks learking around. Trains really good for kids and adults if it's running. loads of picnic areas. Cafe, ice cream vans ,Animal area
Free entry if there not event on but parking is not free pay and display

Love Abby park
K. W.
Love this park its one of the best parks in leicester. Always very clean and well presented and theres a cafe too. It's also refreshing as the play area for the kids is original and is not the new playgrounds where it's hard to figure out to use. Great place for families to go for picnics and take the kids. My favourite area is the little pet area.
S. R.
A great park, not too big for little ones to walk around. Play park, cafe, small animals to look at (tiny tots playground here too), ruins to explore, Victorian gardens and massive of space to run around and picnic. Also a miniature train, but seasonal, check the website for which day and time it's running. Boating for £6 for a family was great fun, when we went on it it didn't have a time limit. Parking is £2 under 3 hrs and £4 for over 3 hrs (there was also a £1 option, but can't remember the details) so very reasonable for city centre
T. T.
Parking place available. Great place to Hang out with family.
F. G.
Great space and there are things to do for all ages. The train track is a must see as is the animal area and the boat paddling area.

P. J.
Beautiful and peaceful. Very nice for a walk or meditation.

A great park that is well maintained by the caring staff, our dogs loved the open spaces and woodlands to explore.
And a well run cafe to relax in too.
Even in the middle of winter.

Beautiful park,. Loads of space, climbing frames and swings etc, toddlers part, exercise machines, lovely old bridge and even little cafe/coffee shop, and toilets.
Decent sized parking too, have to to pay but not expensive. Thru week it's £2, but on weekend it's cheaper. Only £1 Sunday and Bank Holidays. Machine was out of order last 2 times we've been so couldn't pay anyway!! I took photo just in case we got a fine but didn't get fine either time. Apparently they have a really good bonfire night /firework display every year here too.

Huge and lovely park with many different varieties of specimen trees. Beautifully planted garden bedding areas. The River, The lovely animals, the Pavillion for drinks, ice creams and food and snacks. And of course the Abbey ruins. There's a boating lake with water fountain, a band stand, a Chinese garden and a large play park and my particular favourite the miniature railway that you can ride on. Great day out especially to blow off a bit of steam for the children.

Good for the kids and the fair was there
K. F.
Always enjoyed this park some areas being improved by volunteers on the day we visited.
R. C.
Usually come here now and again.
The fairground section ( temporary) has a great new eatery called The Park Grill and the food is prepared with care and dedication at a reasonable price. The other usual foodie sections are also good depending on what you wish to have.
Great time at Abbey Park ⛲ and the fab weather certainly helps.
P. F.
Fantastic park, lots of changes since I first went as a child, bought back some fond memories.
B. A.
Been coming for 34 years. Loved it as a child and my children now love it. Beautiful place. History, play park, outdoor gym, miniature railway, river, bandstand, cafe, animal corner, ruins of the old Abbey all within the walls.
B. K.
Beautiful trees and garden at all times of year. A river runs through it. Historical. Cardinal Wolsey, right hand made to Henry VIII, is buried somewhere in the grounds.
R. P.
Simply wonderful for a city park, plenty of open space, play areas for the kids, picnic areas and ball games.
Y. M.
Kids love it, plenty to do, and the Funfair is usually there holiday seasons, tiny bird centre and ice cream available at the pavilion, boat rides, kids playground gym access all available. Nice and tidy park. Mainly parking can be an issue.

Its winter, and a bit gloomy, but Abbey Park Peppercorns cafe still managed to bring a sunny character to a winter's day. Friendly, prompt, and good value service. Well done everyone. Your great service was much appreciated, and our 3 yr old grandson loved his chocolate muffin!
