Reviews of Dukes Meadows Golf, Tennis & Ski
R. R.
I took my son for an evening round of Night Golf at Dukes Meadows and he loved it! The course did look nice under the lights and it only took an hour to get round. Would recommend.
G. F.
I have been a keen user of the driving range. The price for a basket of balls has increased from 50 balls for 5 £ to 60 balls for 6.50 £. Surely it is not a massive difference since you get more balls but actually, I don t need 10 more balls... So the price increase is quite large (hence the 3 stars). Golf mats are generally ok although worn out in some cases .
Going during rush hours can end up with quite a long wait.
The 9 holes course is both amazing and challenging while it can be muddy. This course is opened to all so, greens are suffering and when you play late in the day, they can be covered with balls marks.
You can also play night golf. I was quite excited having seen some vlog played at night. I have to say, this is far from being fun. If you don't hit the green in regulation, then you are likely to lose your ball due to lack of light. Most holes are very short but that does not make it better.
Beside, burning oil to make electricity in 2021 feels a bit odd.
R. S.
Beautifully maintained course and very friendly staff. Played there twice now and have brought along friends who are new to the game and they also had a great time.
M. S.
Looks like a really fun place to learn to ski - the staff and instructors appear incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely will be taking out a Family Summer Pass this year!!
J. S.
Great place for a cheeky 9 holes. Not the biggest golf course but perfect if you are a beginner and just want to play golf.
R. M.
Great facilities with great views of the river used by miserable patrons. The Ski center staff were lovely. Wouldn't go out of my way to be around the other users though. Thames path passes through there, good for dog walkers.
E. D.
My kids absolutely love Dukes Meadows. I always book them onto the tennis camps in the holidays and they always have fun. The staff are all very friendly and create such wonderful atmosphere!
M. M.
Dukes Meadows is a great place to learn golf and have a quick 9 holes on a challenging and fun par 3 course. The range is good and they have a great short game area and place for kids to learn on the Academy course. It would be good if you are playing with a youngster for them not to charge adults because you are just there to take your children and £16 for two people for what that is feels like not good value for money. I'd prefer them to see encouragement of juniors taking the game than trying to make it a place for the ultra wealthy. The main course is good with small greens that are well maintained and with water on several holes, it is a really good challenging for beginners and more experienced players a like. The cafe is decent and the staff are friendly and polite.
C.
Very well kept course for a nice short game practice! You can consistently hit shots as the course feels as good as it looks!
P. M.
I have been at this place for a business meeting. Must say I was so surprise to see everything under one roof. They have golf, tennis and ski courts. In house physiotherapist, gym and personal trainer at your aid. Restaurant, cafe and shops are amazing for some quick grab. Must visit for recreational activities
J. D.
Excellent golf facilities here for a very good price. Lovely staff. Driving range is great and the course is pay to play on a lovely 9 holes. Follow their reasonable course dress code and rules.
B. M.
Great course to train your irons. 9 holes only but you can play 2 rounds if you wanna do the full 18.
Very well taken care of and perfect for a quick round of golf!
L. A.
Excellent, by the way golf course opens at 8 am not 7 am, the tennis courts opens at 7am.
A.
Best casual smart golf course, been going there for 9 years
C. C.
The golf range is a great place to practice hitting golf balls. This is a popular place so can be quite busy. Prices are on the higher side!
P. C.
Watching the four great clay courts. Good cafe (check opening hours) and lovely river walk
S. G.
Great little spot to practice short game. Well kept course. Only complaint is that it’s often veryyyy slow. Would be good to have someone working the course walk around to ensure it moves a bit.
B. X.
A good place to hang out. The driving range is the best in central London. Although a little difficult to travel to without a car, it has a shop and a cafe for all you need. Highly recommended.
P. T.
DM have maintained services well during the Pandemic. Very organised, and the overall felling is safe and comfortable.
I feel that with some staff the repetitive questions are taking it toll. A little bit of empathy all round will help.
Not my local centre for golf or tennis, but one I will choose for the slick operations.
R.
Nice place for pitch and putt ,very friendly staff in golf shop ,
A. A.
I walk through it almost every day and it is always enjoyable to have contact with nature.
D.
Nice little 9 holes par 3 near the river. Very flat course (as expected for the area) and some nice holes, nothing to taxing…will probably play it again
D. V.
Well maintained playing grounds, indoor ski area, and one of the UK biggest indoor tennis courts with five courts inside a dome.
B. D.
We didn’t actually play golf, we just came to see the house used in the tv show Taskmaster. It’s hidden behind a big locked gate but you can peer over or through the fence.
M.
My nanas funeral was here not so long ago, it's a beautiful place not a gloomy cemetery. I like it anyway. Lot of family and friends are here
C. B.
The place is great! Awesome staff and the bar is a great place to relax after Golfing. The driving range is nice (up to 250ft). It’s only £6 for 60 balls as well which makes it a bargain. There’s no shortage of parking either. Great facilities all round. Would definitely recommend for those golfing desires!
S. E.
Can only describe the football pitches here as this is where the team I play for play our home games. Great facilities and changing rooms with a bar on site. Pitches well maintained. Nice to walk along the river too when the rowers are practicing.
D. S.
I am a regular at Dukes Meadow to play golf. Great nine holes to play. Well kept and all year. It takes just over an hour to get round. Good facilities post game. There’s a driving range which is good but very busy at weekends. Difficult to get a bay.
Ideal if you want to play some golf but don’t have 4 hours to spare. Also hones your short game.
I. K.
Would not class it as a pitch n putt. Very much a well maintained 18 hole golf course, but with 9 par 3's. Great driving range and great bar area outside overlooking the first tee.
L. M.
Great facilities and very welcoming. A beautiful location by the river. The golf course is well maintained all year round. The driving range can get very busy in evenings and on weekends.
T. B.
Amazing golf. Great service from Daisy and Dale. I can't wait to get back again. Fantastic 9 hole par three course 😀😉😎👍
J. L.
The tennis and golf facilities are great! But the best of it is the staff, who are very friendly and professional! Definitely recommended!
M. T.
Great tennis hub - would not call it a Club. High level kids training. Friendly staff (Alan at the bar is great). There is also a gold driving range and a nine-holes pitch & put course.
D. G.
Nice driving range, but who charges to use a putting green? 🤷♂️
D. D.
this is a great golf club for beginners, super lovely staff and crowd in general. It's also very cheap!
A. A.
Awesome facility ... played tennis it was amazing... booked another court for tomorrow and will do throughout all the week ... definitely will recommend to sports enthusiasts...
R. T.
Only visited to have a nose, and to see the Taskmaster house! Haha. But upon seeing the facilities here I am already looking to sort out a round of golf here later in the year!!
P. B.
Nice little 3 Par course to keep you warm between long breaks from proper golf course, staff do have a tendency of being a bit short as I find myself often being hung up on rather than saying “is that all we can help you with”? Seems to be a trend looking at other reviews, go for the golf not the customer service😂
S. H.
Learned to ski and play golf here (not simultaneously!). Excellent facilities including well equipped gym, driving range and course. Staff are excellent; brilliant teachers and really helpful and supportive. Food is top notch too. A lovely place to be.
d.
Great, but difficult public 9 hole course. Unfortunately the staff disinterupt me on the 1st tee but shouting at me half through the swing. This can easily set off a bad round of golf. I recommend next time to let a person swing and then say. Apart from this a this non friendly experience, every enjoyable experience. Easy dress code too: only golf shoes required.
D. F.
Great 9 hole par three in a beautiful setting with some tricky little holes and a water hazard for the last two holes. Well maintained and there is a decent driving range. Tennis courts available but the skiing slope is a bit of carpet on rollers! Reasonable food and bar.
M. I.
The range is good, the mats are in good condition, and the three different tee heights offer nice flexibility. I have not played on the course, so can not give my opinion, but I’ve heard it’s great. However, there are three minor annoyances. The first is that it is quite expensive: £6 for 60 balls. However, you can buy a range card: 600 balls for £55. Secondly, the floodlights are not very good, so when it is dark, it is really quite difficult to see where the ball goes. Lastly, the rangeballs really aren’t as good as proper balls and go about 20-40 yards shorter than expensive balls go, but this is the same at any range, so to be honest, I can’t really complain.
The tennis courts are also good. Overall, the place is good and I go regularly.
T. T.
A very fine gold club in a great place in Richmond. The staff are fabulous and the facility itself is well-looked after and managed. Prices are average and the grounds are cared after.
b. m.
Lovely place with loads of facilities, golf, tennis, skiing, Arush Laser Tag, football pitches, rugby pitches and a thriving junior rugby club taking place on the Sunday morning I visited. There's also river walks and a nature reseve
C. U.
The 9 hole par 3 course is always beautifully maintained. Such a great option for a quick round of golf with only a few irons. It has my favourite local driving range, and I do not mind that there is no popup tees or ball tracking gadgets.
C.
I can only comment on the golf facilities. There is easy parking, an excellent driving range and a par three 9 hole course that is fabulously maintained and has a series of challenging holes. And if you are a fan, the Taskmaster house is beside the 3rd green.
P. L.
Signed my son up for ski lessons, the instructors were good, the first was fantastics, the second a bit impatient (my son is 6, not 16!). Facilities are overall good, the ski area smelled a bit and could do with a deep clean.
This is purely for the indoor tennis/ski area, haven't tried the course yet. The lounge area and snack bar were really handy.
D. B. B.
Great place to relax at an affordable price
R. S.
Nice for going in and getting your strokes in. Everyone just minds their own business , staff are very nice and good value for money 6£ for 60 balls seems a steal
L. T.
Good driving range and average prices. Would like to see the chipping area being free. Not played the course so can only comment on the range. Great lessons from Richard Morris. Recommended
I. S.
Great facilities at a low cost and no membership required! Well maintained clay tennis courts and a driving range as well as the golf course. Nice clubhouse available to have a drink at, too.
m. s.
Nice course and well kept. Flood lights helped towards the end of our round to keep the course and ball visible.
M. L.
Well maintained and friendly helpful staff.
I have now had two club fittings with Miguel he is not only professional but extremely knowledgeable and during my fittings offered advice, tips and help showing great patience and humour.
I have only had 2 lessons with Warren however I have more scheduled due to the huge improvement I have seen in such a short space of time thanks to him. He is incredibly friendly and shows great attention to detail assisting me in a very easy to understand manner.
R. F.
Love the space but the park could've updated and maybe some play equipment for the younger children
A. W.
Excellent 9 hole par 3, good condition throughout, busy driving range, good coffee in the clubhouse. Will be back soon.
S. M.
Close to river, good for walks or rides
N. V.
Great driving range loads of bays, no need to book or be a member. Friendly staff and can rent clubs if needed.
R. G.
Excellent par 3 golf course with good bar and food. Driving range great location but need to invest in better quality balls
a. s.
Not only as a good driving range for those living in the centre of London, but also tennis / restaurant and more (free table tennis) for non golfer family. I think the short course is good for beginner kids to learn about golf and its manner.
B. M.
Fantastic friendly staff at the café, excellent coffee. Oatly milk was a big plus.
S. M.
Great place for kids of all ages, nice little cafe and better than usual playground.
L. C.
Perfect par 3 for summer golf. Some beautiful holes. Would love to see some offers/extending off peak hours on weekends but love the course and will be returning.
A. P.
Owned by a tennis enthusiast and a former player himself , owner of FCUK. Very relaxed place with a top tennis coaching in London. Friendly cafe , golf course, sizeable parking and great walk along the river
D. I. T.
Have been. Using the range for years now. Nice mats and balls. Could do with an update on the yardage signs.
S. D.
A wonderful park with terrific views of the river
C. B.
Good driving range though spoiled a bit by the people around me chatting endlessly on trivial stuff and not letting me concentrate. Would have preferred to be able to think about hitting shots just like I was on a golf course.
F. T.
Excellent diving range, very reasonable price, friendly staffs. I have been here a few times after lockdown, they did the best !
R. W.
Fantastic place for pay as you go golf with on in site golf shop. Lovely restaurant and cafe. They also have tennis facilities. They also have a small indoor skiing machine (if you want to prep for the skiing season). Plenty of car park space. Good toilet facilities.
c. e.
My son is learning to play golf better than I am relearning it !
A beautiful 9 hole par 3 course with first class greens !
M. P.
Parking is so hard now as the activities around dukes meadows have increased so much. Phone ahead or try to get a lift if your there for a while. MP
m. w.
Brilliant staff facilities. Never done Golf but really enjoy my time there. I went with my 8 year Son to a Birthday party. He did Skiing and Golf and loved it
M. A.
An excellent ski carpet, high prices however. Made good progress and instructors are nice.
Lots of parking.
P. G.
Indoor skiing without snow! We signed up for beginner snowboarding lessons on the Skiplex machine at Dukes Meadows. It's a great invention - basically a treadmill for skiers that allows you to stay in one spot while practising your turning technique. The instructor has a control for slowing down and speeding up and there are bars to hold onto when you first get started. There are several instructors and I would recommend Louis (Lewis?) as being the best - certainly the most friendly and encouraging. Prices are on the steep side but it's certainly cheaper than a week in the snow and gives you an opportunity to master the basics or, if you're already comfortable, to hone your technique.
J. H. (.
easy going venue, well run and convenient - can get busy and on this occasion was out of red wine
N. P.
Great driving range, and great par 3 course, shop and plenty of parking. Shame putting green isn't available more often
J.
Great facilities, badly run... eg the website registration is poor... also when you go to golf booking online it takes you to the tennis court booking page...wastes time...in the past I have also had issues booking a tennis coach and a court...never available at the same time unless you get lucky...some great facilities and staff but just needs proper management...
P. M.
Great 9 holes with driving range and tennis courts with great bar restaurant, great equipment shop, excellent staff and management team and top clientele
C. R.
Great 9 hole short course, impeccably maintained!
G. P.
Perfect venue for tennis, golf and somewhat remarkably, skiing. Huge capacity at the driving range and well stocked shop
M.
Decent little place to go golfing with an excellent driving range.
D. F.
Lovely setting. Parking an absolute nightmare on Sundays due to all the sports activities.
R. H.
The golf course is great and really well looked after as is the range. Tennis availability can be frustrating and courts and changing rooms are a bit dirty.
A. J.
Nice little course for a quick round -
A. C.
Very professional, and taking Covid restrictions seriously, whilst also allowing time to enjoy the golf range.
D. W.
Great driving range and course is great for learning on if a little expensive for a par 3.

Good location, facilities and par 3 course. Don't waste your time on the lesson bundle, they expire very fast and are tough to book.

Winter conditions, but not in bad nick all things considered.

K. A.
Played tennis here good place
K. S.
Great, green place for a walk!
A. D.
Lovely neighborhood golf course + driving range
T. P.
Golf and Tennis in central London. Member less place, as good as a lack of membership allows and as close to a “club” as you could be for no money. The par 3 nine hole course is excellent technically for the short game, and very well maintained too.
P. M.
Great driving range and tennis courts. Cannot vouch for the indoor skiing.
E. T.
Good for training dogs
D. S. L.

D. D.
The little club with a lot of punch. Their 9 hole is superbly kept and makes for interesting practice.
P. A.
Lesson with Brian Green, was really helpful. Don't let staff talk you into video bay.

S. M.
Super.... simply amazing for golf and tennis
D. M.
I play football on these grounds and so maybe bias opinion due to others not playing this sport but I'm sure some girls may like watching men playing football or rugby so have at it.
J. L.
Good and convenient small golf course. Also affordable.
P. W.
Duke's Meadows is a wonderful but slightly strange place. It's a huge green space fronting on to the Thames but doesn't really have a central point. There are sports grounds, rowing clubs, allotments, Sunday farmer's market, a glorious band stand and a windy road that takes you around the outside perimeter. You get the feel that it is slightly rundown and perhaps could be improved to make it more popular...but not with major developments which could so easily spoil it. Would need to be intelligently done and hold back rapacious developers. Go and explore - it's lovely.
J. C.
Great people and nice facilities
S. D.
Nice, challenging little par 3 course. Be sure to wear a collar and spikes!
H. M.

Best spot for a quick round of golf in London. 9 holes, all par 3s. Great greens. Grab a beer after.
