Reviews of London Aquatics Centre
I. S.
Nice swimming pools there are 2 novice pools. In the changing area there is a machine that dries your clothes I’ve never used it but I see other people using it. You can play in the pools and splash you friends and family (like I did 😏😏).Overall it is a great place to go will recommend to people of all ages. Also there are loads of restaurants around so after you go swimming you can grab something to eat without having to go to far.
T.
Firstly I just want to say the customer service here in impeccable. The lifeguards are very friendly and informative. They kindly let me know the rules of each pool and what the swimming courtesy was. I felt very safe and at ease. The 50m competition pool is very impressive and a bit intimating as it is 3m deep the entire length. The training pool does not have a very deep end and it gets quite busy so you may bump into people as doing lengths. There is also a diving pool and a learning pool. An amazing place!
A.
I was on a fence coming here today as many reviews were so negative. Honestly, there was nothing negative about my whole experience here. The swimming pool is amazing, very friendly staff, well organised and save system due to Covid restrictions, good shower, changing rooms and lockers facility. You can use a hair dryer if you want too. Absolutely amazing experience! Thank you.
f.
It is fantastic i do diving lessons and the coaches are so nice and the life guards are nice they help you quite a lot and it feels very safe if you feel dizzy or anything they help you by asking if your okay or do you need 5 minute break and the service is so good and the receptionists are all ways so nice so i recommend this place.
D. B.
The pool is always top. Even better with COVID restrictions. As there are never than 3 swimmers per 50m lane. Would be 5 stars if not for the showers which really need to be refurbished.
J. O.
It was amazing seeing all the children playing. The olympic swimming pool had a aquatic slide for the children to run and slide on. The gym facilities are up-to-date and features all that is necessary to have a work out session. The training pool holds swimming lessons and the diving pool too.
J. G.
Great pool. Good spectating of the main 50m pool and diving boards. I also swam in the training pool (the other 50m pool is divided into 2 x 25m pools)... Slightly narrower lanes in the training pool than I like but fairly standard. Showers and changing were decent enough. Water fountains were switched off though in the main pool spectator area and a can of Coke zero was £2.50! (No glass, no ice, no slice!). Denying them a star on that basis.
D. S.
This place is great, pools amazing, x2 teaching pools with some great swim teachers. Changing rooms are large and clean and the facility is well maintained. Small cafe at entrance.
P. M.
Great place for beginners, intermediates and experts. You can have fun with family se well.
S. H.
London Aquatics Centre has been adopted by Better UK after the London Olympics 2012. You can easily get Better UK's membership and enjoy the best Olympics level championship pools to sharpen your swimming skills as well training pools with excellent trainers to teach you how to swim. Furthermore, it has a very state of the art gym inside it. Perfect to enhance your muscular strength and be in shape.
J. D.
Much better now that they've started bookings in advance - it never seems to get as busy as it used to. Changing rooms are starting to look a bit tatty though. I guess it was ten years ago...
F. B.
Stunning pool, best one I've ever been to probably. Everyone is polite and really nice - staff and visitors. There is plenty of space in the changing room and perfect ventilation. This pool is also very wheelchair accessible with a lift into the pool itself too.
M. W.
Excellent facilities, but kids swimming lessons are very poor. Busy classes with a different disinterested teacher every week and infrequent assessments. One week learning some front crawl the next week just splashing water at the side of the pool. Don’t expect your child to make much progress here.
E.
Decent. Great fitness facilities. Just not a fan of the family changing room merged with the female change rooms. The kids get very loud in the change rooms during weekdays from 12pm-2pm.
c. p.
Second visit. Fantastic to swim in a 50m Olympic pool. Great facilities and friendly staff.
R. M.
Still amazing under used sports centre, great facilities, like the pool and gym. Don't have the b***s to try out the diving boards though. The surrounding park is also pretty nice apart from Saturdays when West Ham plays. Check out the Bird electric scooters when you are there. They are under two pounds to whizz around the park.
R. L.
It's an interesting building and the main Olympic Pool for competition is really something. The training pool, however, makes a sharp contrast to the main one and looks mostly like something that you would find in a small suburban town. There is no soap for washing before going in the pool, nor is it being promoted to shower without clothes. The layout of the changing rooms makes it further difficult to properly shower as the main area is shared between genders. This must have a significant impact on the water quality. In general, the changing rooms were quite dirty. The pool area it self is fine, and the number of life guards on duty is high. The temperature is good, but there could be a bit more toys. Friendly staff. All in all an okay swimming experience.
R. M.
Great pool, clean, great facilities, so big it rarely feels too busy
G. P.
Great swimming pool, first quality... But extremely busy. Ideal for serious and dedicated swimmers. Less so for the casual bath, unless you really go off peak. Most other better swimming pools are more friendly to th casual swimmer. Now that booking is mandatory, on weekends you need to book several days in advance. Cleaning standards are mediocre, and the number of showers is very low for the capacity of the pool.
L. T.
Facility is top gear. Unfortunately the policy makes it very difficult to lap swim during weekends: only two 20m training pools open, one dedicated to spashing kids, the others with lanes for swim courses. Both of them very shallow. Which would be ok, but has it got to happen in the olympic aquatic center?
P. P.
Awesome pools in a great architectural space. Spacious and modern which is rare in London. Also nicely located in the Olympic Park, so interesting space for a walk and exploration before/after the swim. The centre is run by a local council, so admission prices are reasonable as well.
S. S.
Nice venue, used to be 5 stars, but recently, standards of cleaning have dropped and lockers are out of commission and some showers have stopped working. Needs some attention to get back to its previous world class status
P. K. F. C.
I well remember I was there in July 2014, with a family which has a son with Down's Syndrome. I swam with him in one of the swimming pools and he would treat me as a float whenever he felt insecure. We went there as we thought it should be a very nice place to go, and it was!
A. D.
Chantel on reception at the London aquatic centre was really helpful and friendly , I turned up for my class early, she checked on the system and got me a space so I didn’t have to wait around for ages. Although Chantel was really busy she went out of her her way to help me.
Sometimes the little things make all the difference, well done aquatic centre, you have some great staff
Andrew
R. P.
Excellent swimming pool, chaging rooms and showers could be a little cleaner, a few repairs needed to door locks etc. The one thing that really needs improvement is the reception staff. They always look so miserable.
A. C. C.
Amazing pool built for the 2012 olympic games. Beautiful inside and out. I really love swimming in the competition pool, water is always in a good temperature and very clear. Tends to get crowded on weekends, but it's great on week day mornings.
A. P.
I am an agonist swimmer from Italy and I was enthusiastic about coming and see this Olympic venue.
I have trained both in the competition and training pool.
There’s room for everyone both for professional swimmer and beginner in the two pools, you can really enjoy your training.
Changing rooms are really clean and you have all you need from a pool.
For just 4£ you can swim in the same line Michael phelps swam, just amazing.
A. O.
Aqua splash great but staff so rude! Shouting at each other as well as customers! Couldn’t phrase anything in a polite way. Spoilt the experience. Maybe better on another day?
F. v. A.
50 meter olympic pool, wide lanes clear and clean water! Great pool for laps, wide lanes - £5,5 entry and 1£ locker (refunded) - at 06:30 Thursday not busy at all and good rule following. Fantatastic venue, great architecture, very clear space. One bad point, all toilets were dirty unfortunately (could be coincidence). Strongly recommend this pool!!
A.
Very clean and organised venue. It has 4 swimming pools. 2 training pools one is 120cm deep and other one is 80cm more suitable for kids, both 25m length. 2 competition pools, one 3m deep and 50m length and I’m not sure about the dimensions about the diving pool as I haven’t used it and not sure if it’s allowed to use by public as I haven’t seen anyone diving in from there. Also it has a gym inside.
A. J. K.
The building itself has remarkable shape and architecture.main entrance is on the ground level and easy to find it.the staff was very helpful and I was pleased with everything. While visiting the competition pool was closed and being used by kids so I had the half of the training pool, which was a little bit busy.but I managed to find lane where I could swim.lots of lockers you will need a pound coin to use it.everything was clean .I will go back soon.
M. v.
The swimming pool is great for training and everything . I would like to say if your going there for site seeing etc I would be the ultimate place to see nearly everything .
G. N. H. T. L.
10 miles from my digs but coming back owing to one dude’s excelling qualities: chapeau (hats off) to Sunny - all the good things in life to you and yours
Better, I urge you to reward your staff in kind
R. B.
I like the pool and the changing facilities. However, the management is poor.
Lift doesn't work 9/10 days. Quite a flight of stairs which makes it inconvenient if you have pram, stroller, etc.
One of the swimming pool doors is out of order for months now. Even the apology note for them being unable to repair is months old now. Causes lot of crowding at the other door.
Hand soap dispensers are in a broken state for quite some time now and one of the toilets keeps breaking down too in the men's section. I can understand breakdowns can happen but leaving them unrepaired for such long time is poor management I believe.
G. F.
I swam really well this afternoon and I feel great, the olympic pool was not crowded and I enjoyed my 1 km. swim.
K. W.
Good first time experience, the pool is as you expect with the amazing architecture around it. Plenty of lanes so you won't be cramped up but defiantly for strong swimmers due to the depth.
Pros - quick access and plenty small changing rooms.
Free hair dryer station / £1 locker which you get back /
Cons - no poolside water fountain, poor booking & accessible customer service. Need to book advance for hour slots and frontdesk has no telephone...
T. J. L.
A really great facility. Pool area is huge and impressive. Clean and tidy pool and changing areas. Great dive pool and boards. Parking is expensive though
P. P.
Top pool, love it. The only negative is that many swimmers have no idea of the pace they swim at so you'll find a slow swimmer in the medium or fast lane. These are large lanes so not a big issue but some of the less experienced swimmers get lost and manage to swim right in the middle of the large lanes. Lifeguards don't seem too bothered...so watch out.
j. l.
Incredible pool which is great for swimming training and good value. Highly recommended.
Ľ. O.
The water is diamond clear! Even when it's busy you won't notice in 50m lanes. Only thing which I don't like is boilng hot water in showers.
A. B.
Excellent facilities. Olympic sized swimming pool and a small but decent gym. All open till 10 pm and very close to Westfield. Good transportation links. The place is very neat and clean.
D. W.
Good clean venue. Covid restrictions in place were manageable and clear. The lifeguards were very polite and professional. Best of all they have machines to dry your swim wear.
A. V.
Amazing swimming pool! Make sure you check schedule before planning your visit due to events that take place very often. Early mornings are not so busy, but evenings and weekend are.
A. R.
I have been bringing my son Brian for years to London Aquatic Centre, and the most truly and the best Swimming Instructor I have come across is Mr Chung Pong!!! He is really improved my son's swimming abilities and Mr Chung's approach of teaching skills are incredibly brilliant, amazing and impressive!!! Thank you London Aquatic Centre for having such an incredible and excellent Swimming Instructor as Mr Chung Pong!!!
F. G.
First, for those who want to train: no chronometer for drills, you might want to use the big watch, but it's hard to see. It's not crowded, would be nice to have a training chronometer, to speed up things.
Now full review: I mean.. For the emotion of swimming in an Olympic pool.
It's dirty, from pool to bathroom(I've been six months ago and it was better), and I'm very used to public pools myself.
BRING A ONE POUND COIN , otherwise you can't use lockers, and you can't leave not even a towel on the side of the pool.
A. H.
Had a good experience when I came for a swim. Arrived around 18:30 on a week day and, while it was busy, I was able to swim uninterrupted for 50 mins without getting in anyone's way or being held up. Lanes available for slow, medium and fast swimmers.
L. W.
Love this pool, I can't swim well my son teaching me, then went to the gym, I am so unfit, but I am 68 ,can't Waite to get fitter ,nice place.
D. J.
The name sounds like a aquarium or animal sea world but in fact it is just a swimming pool. The swimming pool is very large and long olympic type. The swimmingpools have been build for the olympic games which took place there. It is perfect for exercise , swim long distances, keep fit and slim. The price cost little bit more above average but for that it is not that overcrowded. You will have your own line lane in the pool. They want you to book a slot in advance online. From outside it seems to be impossible to look inside which is good for privacy. I thought at first that they are a fish zoo aquatic aquarium because of their name. To go there by underground or train travel to Stratford Station in London then go trough Westfield shoppingcentre where all the bars and restaurants are shortly before that you will be on a wide pederastian only bridge towards westfield centre keep left. Go left where you see all the bars and restaurants within the centre. Walk and walk straight on. Wheb you see a building which is dark and looks and is build like a whale then you have reached your destination. They don t allow children or even teenagers to come allone they write on their website everybody under 18 needa to come with an adult which stays with them in the water close by all the time. They offer some swim classes. Very clean inside. Expensive but empty. They don t have any outdoor area. Water cooler than average because the pool is so long and big but very clean.
R. M.
Great experience swimming in the Competition Pool. Changing and toilet facilities a huge let down, dirty and poorly maintained.
F. C.
Fantastic facilities, unique building design, creating a fantastic interior space... and more recently, seamless organisation to make it COVID-safe.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first swim last Sunday, after a very long break. And it definitely won't be the last one.
l. w.
Lovely 50m pool; so clean in changing room; water so perfect; different speeds to swim at; watch diving club at same time, wow!
s. t.
Amazing facilities! Verry clean and modern great staff ! Love that you can sit and watch your own kids learn to swim. Kids love coming here and their swimming has improved so much since coming here!!
M. T.
A beautiful swimming pool in world class facilities. COVID safe procedures in place so do read before booking.
D. L.
How would you feel knowing that you had a great swimming workout on the very same lane where Michale Phelps won his Olympic Gold Medal?! Visit this awesome swimming pool to find out! 😃
S. B.
A very regal pool -- makes you feel like an Olympian just walking in!
H. S.
It's OK but not as nice as some of the outdoor lidos. The showers were too hot and the toilets smelt very badly.
It feels like COVID is being used as an excuse for companies to get more of our personal information without any justifiable reason for doing so. My sister came for a visit and I thought I'd take her for a swim in the Olympic Pool. Reception wouldn't just let me buy two tickets she had to register her own account which meant 10 minutes of faffing about giving her full name, address, phone number, bank details and registering her email address just to go for a swim! Very frustrating.
A. V.
This is my favorite place for swimming. Clean and tidy. Relaxing environment even tho the interior is so massive you could feel lost, yet it’s welcoming for a swim whether you are a pro or just a beginner. There is a diving class there which I always wanted to try, unfortunately I moved out of London.
B. S.
My favourite swimming pool in London - epic and uplifting architecture :) It has a solid gym as well as a diving pool, two 25 pools & a 50m pool
R. W.
Hi guys, The venue is open and in full swing.
Please look on line, call the center regarding bookings, directions as Carpenters Road is closed through building works.
See you there!!.
Regards from an on site Engineer.
S. R.
Phenomenal Olympic swimming pool with an incredible architecture. Best swimming and diving centre in London!!!
L. D.
Nice clean facility with amazing amenties. The customer service is excellent, lots of parking. Parking starts at £2 an hour or £1 an hour if you're a member.
D. C.
Fantastic pool. Very modern and well maintained facilities with the added prestige of being a former Olympic venue. Lots of space and it never feels crowded. COVID response has been fantastic. Everything is clearly laid out and explained in detail. As of July 2020, you must book in advance via the website/app but this is a really simple process. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and fancy a swim!
G. G.
love the pool! well run, clean and good staff.
S. T.
5 pounds walk in per person, amazing pool and venue. Showers and toilets are decent too, sufficient hot water. Entrance is located at the ground floor.
B. S.
You have to pre-book. Costs £5.10. You need to come wearing your costume as you have to undress pool-side (you can use showers and changing rooms on the way out, but you can't use shampoo). You're not allowed to do backstroke in the pool, but otherwise it's fine. There are two slow lanes, one medium and two fast.
A. B.
Fantastic pool, beautiful contemporary architecture only £5 for a swim, well worth it
R. I.
Really beautiful and clean pool and changing rooms, and lovely staff. I knocked off a star as I found the COVID procedures a bit baffling, though. There didn’t seem to be any specific guidance when booking on the app and no-one at the desk informed me that all lockers/showers (except the rinse-off showers) were out of use (no signs on lockers/showers), and the one-way system in the changing room was not obvious at all, until a kind cleaner pointed out I was going the wrong way and set me on course. A lifeguard spotted the locker key on my wrist and told me I needed to leave my stuff poolside. Would recommend some better signage for first-time users. Don’t know if I missed anything on the website! Otherwise a really lovely swim, useful bike parking right by the entrance and really enjoyed watching the young divers practising in the diving pool as I was swimming along!
V. W.
A very nice place to enjoy competition! Just follow the sign from station. It’s very warm inside though!
Y. T.
An excellent place to walk around and to swim. Zaha Hadid design has definitely left an last ever lasting impression, what an amazing architect!
m. b.
I am new to swimming and new to the Olympic centre. Whilst the facilities are obviously to a very good standard, it is the staff who have the ability to make or break the experience. In my experience I have had top notch service from one staff member in particular, Sunny! What a friendly face to be greeted by each time my girlfriend and I go for a swim. Sunny has been nothing but polite, super helpful, caring, and all with a GENUINE smile. To the managers, take note of this great team member you have! From M & N 😁
J. R.
Could be cleaner. Otherwise good. One end of Olympic pool is always grimey. The other end is always clean. Don't understand.
M. M. (.
A clean and modern facility.
The main pool area, that contains the competition pool and the diving pool is large and spacious with good seating and a lovely curved ceiling.
The competition pool is split into lanes of various speeds during public swim sessions and there's good segregation to ensure everyone enjoys their time. The pool is 3m do throughout.
The changing rooms are unused, but entirely cubicles, lockers require £1 to lock which is returned.
There are other events, such as aquatic obstacle courses but they were not out when I was there.

I like that the pools are open from early in the morning until late at night, so no matter your working hours, you can still make it. I use both the olympic pool and the training one, and I like them both. Also, on school holidays, they still have plenty of lanes for fitness in the training pool, whereas other pools are more for families only. It's for sure my favourite place to swim in London. Only one remark though: I would personally like the water in the showers to be a bit less hot.
i.
Half of the training pool is being kept empty during mornings in the weekend, even if for hours it isn't being used and the other half is split up in the morning between four lanes and the rest for classes. It doesn't make sense to have busy lanes while half of the training pool isn't being used or it is almost fully occupied for classes. Also the part where you have mixed changing rooms at the entrance to the pool could be kept cleaner, especially around hours when there are children swimming classes.
For a big Olympic swimming pool like this one, I would expect clean and efficient use of it. But it often feels like it is kept at a small regional level. They could do so much better, so it is kept at a level, like the name suggests.
L. J.
Nice swimming pool, but lack of sign posts to the car park, no signs from the car park to the entrance, and once inside no clear way to go. The pool is great.
T. T.
Excellent place. The best swimming pool I've ever been to. Can't fault it. Beautiful building. You have to stop and admire it before you go in. Perfect layout. Friendly, helpful staff. Would go every day if I lived nearer.
M. V.
Fantastic for lap swimming.
There's usually at least the competition pool and one training pool dedicated to lap swimming.
Facilities include competition pool (50 meters), two training pools (25 meters, one usually dedicated to children activities), a diving pool and a gym.
Very large changing area with plenty of lockers. There's also a smaller changing area next to training pools.
There aren't many showers and most of them are right in front of the lockers
There's a cafe at the entrance.
L. N.
The best equipped public pool in London. Zaha Hadid's curvy ceiling makes every swim an experience!
u. b.
Great training pool for swimming lessons. The instructors are patient and helpful - perfect for beginners like me or those who just want to finesse their skills. The competitive pool looks fab - looking forward to using it once I get a bit better. Clean changing rooms and they've just replaced the annoying motion sensor showers with timed button ones (though they are a fraction too hot for me).
J. K.
I CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP AFTER SOME TIME BECAUSE I felt uncomfortable being swam into by some performance swimmer repeatedly. The facilities are good but men are quite busy in the common changing area near the women's showers and it is not for everybody. You have to be a very confident swimmer to feel good in the 50 m pool in lane swimming.
P. C.
Great place to swim. Well maintained
J. M.
We spent the day at Olympic Park so I booked tickets for us to swim in one of the pools. I chose the training pool as the main pool was very deep and only had floats in it and you had to go around them and I wanted to swim. The boys enjoyed it and so did I. Clean and well maintained. The only problem was that I got locked in one of the toilets, I could not open it! Luckily a lady and her son were there and notified a member of staff. I was cold and embarrassed.
J. K.
A beautiful swimming pool, no doubt; the competition pool looks great but seen only not used it yet, though been using the training pools for a long while now; bit too busy at the door for enter/exit the training pools; and no enough showers for peak hours; been to other swimming pools with lesser swimming space but more showers and more spacious for changing area, of course with lesser users; in comparison, this London Aquatics Centre has so many users; it could be that I've been using it at its peak busy times.
R. B.
The facilities and pool are in very good condition and cleaned regularly, lovely place to swim. However, the reception staff and customer services are not to a high standard. If you want to call customer service from the phone number they hardly pick up and if they do they aren't as helpful as they could be. I feel like the customer service and the website really need to be improved in order to be to the highest standards possible.
S. H. (. ف. ب.
The best swimming pool in East London I love it
C. T.
I would like to send a special thank you to the staff on duty at the LAC this evening. I lost my mobile phone which also had my debit card in the case. The customer service I received from James (manager), Dave (engineer) and Danielle (receptionist) was second to none. They went above and beyond to assist me in trying to find my phone.
In the end it was located in the car park by a member of Newham Swimming Club (Michelle) and returned to me.
Thank you all for your calm attitude and assistance it was very much appreciated and stopped me from panicking.
Kindest regards
Christine Thompson

The swimmingpool is great with a nice temperature and not too crowded. The changing rooms however does not promote a clean access to the pool as there are no soap in the showers nor any signs to guide people to clean properly before swimming. The room between showers and changing rooms is not gendered, and as the showers are small and closed it is not possible to get from the shower to the changing room without putting your swimsuit back on. It seems these deigns are not well planned, or people are not expected to shower without clothes before entering or leaving the pool.
D. M.
Lucky enough to book on the inflatables over half term. It was really easy to book online and the place was clean, they let the right amount of people in so it wasn't over busy. The safety video played at the start was a waste of time though as it did not even resemble anything that went on. Some of the lifeguards also need to have a bit of confidence to stop the kids queue jumping on the 5m slides. There was this bloke on Reception who was the best person ever. Really helpful. Didn't know his name but he does a drag act in his other job. Deserves to be employee of the year. His customer service skills were amazing. Would really recommend the inflatables. Great but tiring experience.
l. g.
I use the gym here after work, and it's great... except that often only half of the treadmills are running. Also, in the womens' showers by the main training pool, there's always at least one shower that's not working properly (more often it's two, and that's including the disabled stall). That said, the membership price is great (you can have pool only, gym only, or both), and the limited interaction I've had with reception staff has always been good. The people who use the gym aren't too hardcore or in your face either (at least after 6pm weekdays, when I usually go), so I always feel comfortable and never intimidated.
A. B.
Friendly staff. There is two 50m pools but they are divided in four 25m which was unexpected. Although I believe it depends the day.
The building is great and big.
The changing rooms are like any new better gym; a lack of sense.
There is a family friendly space with all the lockers, the male changing room where the showers are don't have lockers nor hair dryer. So you have to go back and forward a few times to get showered and changed.
I mean:
1 From the pool to the locker to get the shampoo and gel
2 From the locker to the shower to have a shower
3 From shower to tumble dryer to get your swimming trunk dry
4 Back to the locker to pick up your clothes
5 From the locker to the cubicle to get changed
6 From cubicle to the hair dryer space and then you can go.
On the good things they have little tumble drier which is very handy.
The common area is used by people on normal shoes from the street and baby buggies. I understand families need to use it but there is plenty of space to have a family changing room a male one and a female one all with their own wet area and three access to the pool. Most of the cabins are unused so there is plenty of space to do that.
Bethnal Green, Oasis, Marshall Street, Cristal Palace and London Fields. Although they are older pools the have a better design.
I was expecting it to be more training orientated. As it was an Olympic venue.
S. P.
Reviewing the gym only as I don't use the pool. Gym is a fairly decent size with a good selection of machines and two free-weights areas. There are lockers in the gym with no apparent changing rooms but you can use the ones for the swimmers on the other side of the pool.

At the London Aquatics Centre, there is an awesome competition pool of 50-m long and of three meters deep, a 25-m competition diving pool and also two smaller pools for beginners. This Aquatics Centre is really interesting to visit because the swimming events of the 2012 Summer Olympics happened here. The only little problem is the Centre staff that is not enough friendly and efficient according to my view.
J. L.
Really fantastic facilities, a wonderful addition to the area and really reasonable prices to use them. You can be a swimming member for less than £30 a month and there are two pools. The competition pool is 50m long and 2m deep the whole way, so you wont find people messing about - you have to be able to swim constantly for two lengths to be able to use it.
They also offer lessons in diving from the boards, which I personally recommend, but they are popular so you may struggle to get a place. The boards are also available for open sessions twice a week if you can't get a spot but fancy starting down from the 10m (rather you than me).
S. W.
Clean gym and swimming pool. The only downside is the cost of membership £45/month and some of the gym facilities need repair but that’s an ongoing thing. Good transportation links coming handly and quite a few group programms offered, on top with personal training.
J. R.
You would expect a former Olympic venue to be something special when it comes to going for a swim. It is. It is clean, spacious and even with any number of schoolchildren learning on the premises there is still chance to swim and change with some personal space. And the price is reasonable too. Slightly irritating single sex lunchtime sessions so be careful to check the timetable.
A. T.
Such an amazing legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Every time I visit I have to pinch myself as I cannot believe I am standing at the very spot where for those weeks in Summer 2012 the World's eyes were on the city I get to call home and able to go swimming in the pool of Olympic and sporting legends. The London Aquatics Centre offers an excellent programme of lessons for all levels and all reasonably priced too.
E. M.
Really nice venue for swimming competitions. I haven't swum here but have brought school groups to swim here. The cafe is a nice place to grab a bite with good coffee. They also have great recycling facilities and the cafe uses wooden cutlery.
A. E.
AMAZING. I drive me and my 2kids 40mins just to come here. Aged 2 and 4. They love it. There are no slides or play areas. Just 2 massive pools. One side is shallow other side deep. Temperature of the water is nice. The facilities are very clean and tidy. The changing area is warm and clean. Not only do the hair dryers work they are also FREE! large parking area right outside. Staff are friendly.
Great place to take young kids and give them an opportunity to learn swimming without being distracted my water games and slides etc.
Prices are also very reasonable. Parking is about £6ish for 3hours ish. So not too bad. There is also a a place to grab some food/snacks.
Honestly amazing place. Congrats to the management and all the staff there for maintaining great standards.
Thank you 😊

Easy to get to from central London. Friendly and polite staff. State of the art facilities which were clean. Vast changing area with large lockers. Only a few showers which was odd. Cafe and reasonable price to swim (only 35p more expensive than 50m in Liverpool for example).
D. C.
Only £5 for a swim in a 50m pool. I can't argue with that.
S. M.
Love love love swimming here. Covid restrictions are the same as in all other pools in UK right now. No showering which is annoying but at least we can get to the pool now!
d. c.
Great facility if the location suits. Staff are very friendly, it's a good price and nice that part of the Olympic park can remain of use.
Training pool has plenty of wide swimming lanes and more than enough lockers / changing booths. It's a 'changing village' whatever that is.
Not perfect for family / spectators as there is little space to sit and the only way in/out of the space is through the changing rooms.
Didn't seem to be a huge amount for little kiddies to do save for a few bits of foam.
L. W.
10 Years old but looks 1. Very clean & big. Disabled access available.
N. C.
Very friendly ladies at the entrance, v clean, especially changing facilities. amazing pools.. Competition pool just perfect temp for a swimmer.. Very easy to get to on tube etc.. Well sign posted at olympic Park.
M. T.
Amazing place to learn to swim, great environment. All the stages suited correctly to the student's needs. The teachers are great, especially, David and Jason who are both incredible. Their lessons are challenging yet fun. Each of their lessons consists of a number of activities to keep all the students engaged.
I would totally recommend it!
P. M.
Best pool I've ever swum in. There's something obviously amazing about being in the same pool that the Olympians have swum in (and maybe makes me swim that bit faster!)
The small pools are also good, and have taken my kids there a few times. It could do with being a bit warmer in the kids pools, but apart from that it's great.
F. M.
Nice good just one thing, mans toilet need to be fixed
A. S.
My partner and I visited this place on Valentines Day and surprisingly it wasn't busy! On arrival, parking took ages because it wasn't clear where to enter or park. Signs could be improved. Inside, the centre was clean. The 50 metre pool is lit by daylight and looks serene. I tried the 50m pool only to discover that I could not swim in this pool without holding onto something or someone! Embarrassing. The guards clearly realised this and kindly advised me to try the shallow pool. I was not offended in any way. The staff were very accommodating and took us to the shallow pool. The shallow pool was spacious and much nicer to swim in. I get cold REALLY easily and was dreading the pool being too cold for me but when I jumped in, it was just right. I took to the water like a fish. The showers were good and the hairdryers worked. I walked out feeling fit!
C. C.
the best swimming pool in London!
50 m long, high ceiling main swimming pool with lane swimming that really works.
two 25 m long training pools where you can manage if the main one is closed for events.
changing room facilities not well designed, but rather clean.
30 GBP a month membership is a bargain for what you get :)
M. D.
This place is wonderful, and has succeeded in getting me back into exercise. I have multiple disabilities, but with the pool pods to get me in and out of the water and a disabled membership that costs just £20 per month, it's now possible for me to start the long road back to fitness.
Staff here are lovely and very helpful, and swimming in the Olympic pool is such an experience. I'm not sure I ever fully appreciated just how far 50m is to swim, but backstroking the length of the pool and gazing up into the blue light of the ceiling is incredibly relaxing. The Centre was designed by Zaha Hadid, and it feels like an enormous privilege to be able to call this beautiful place my local pool.
A. A.
The venue is exceptional. The opening hours are a huge plus. Mostly on weekends and in the evening it gets quite busy. I formed the habit of avoiding the busy hours. A big minus is the lockers floor which needs better maintenance during the day (it tends to get dirty).
Overall, a clean place with great amenities.
The 50m option makes it the best swimming pool in town.
R.
Former olympic venue with amazing architecture
P. S.
Top swimming pool, 5 stars. Most striking are the opening times till 22:30 almost every day of the year. So, you can go swimming whenever it suits you best. However, if you depend on public transport, the swimming pool it is a good walk away through Westfield Stratford Shopping Center from Stratford Underground station. Second, the lift down to the back entrance, which is supposed to be the main entrance, and it is, could be repaired and brought back to full working order. State of the elevator on 24/12/2019.

Not usually a big fan of indoor public pools but this one is an absolute treat to visit. It's also the same price as other Better swimming pools in London which is awesome. I've been lucky to visit at times when it wasn't heaving so I thoroughly enjoyed my swims. I even got to watch a professional diving team practice in the adjacent diving pool.
R. A.
I came to the Aquatics for the first time for a four o'clock family swim with my daughter. 'What can I'. This pool is such a clean and splendid environment for families. The reception team are very welcoming and love to smile. I felt very safe under the care of the lifeguard team. The smaller pool was a little cold, but there were smiles all around. I cant wait to go back. 'Hamdullah' what a joy to live in Newham and so close to this swimming pool.
A. G.
It’s an amazing building worth to be seen just for that. I go swimming there sometimes as it’s quite cheap and it’s spacious (I can always find a locker)and the reception staff is very kind and helpful. the only thing that I don’t like is that they shouldn’t allow people without swimming caps as it’s not hygienic and it’s gross to swim and see hairs floating!
A. P.
Excellent pool - one of the best in the UK. Unfortunately, the experience of visiting the pool is continually let down by the front of house experience - reception are incredibly slow at admitting people and it can take at least 15 minutes to speak to anyone at the London Aquatics Centre by phone. It's been like this for some time now, which is a great pity.
E. C.
It's the best pool in the country (or was). It honours a time in the UK's recent past when we were an open outward looking country eager to celebrate internationalism, global culture and of course sport. Now though we just have football and Brexit. Sad. Anyway the shiny new pool it was is in need of some tlc.. The showers vary between cold and luke warm - the heating generally isn't working very well- main changing area is cold causing muscle and circulation stress after a tough swim session, toilets regularly flood, lockers are broken, grime build-up is not being tackled properly. But, the competition pool (when it's open) is a joy to use...
D. S.
Great place to swim. It's really cool to think you get to swim in the same place as Olympians
J. a.
Super super super!
A week of intense swimming lessons with David was fabulous! He is so professional and thorough!
Sami's customer service skills is fantastic! A real asset. Happy to help, and is actually very helpful!
Chloe Mancini (life guard/instructor) is an absolute star!!! We took part in the Aqua extreme challenge. She was so thorough in her delivery of safety to the group, and was a huge help in helping my daughter overcome her initial shock of the challenge! My daughter went from wanting to leave, to smashing and completing the challenge several times over! All thanks to Chloe Mancini! I appreciate your help. You're an absolute asset to the place Chloe!
Please keep on providing staff as the ones above. Thank you for the great experiences!
A. A.
Awesome. Really the best pool I've seen in my entire life. Impressive externally, and very cleverly arranged inside. The only thing I might wish for is more women showers... it may get a bit congested in peak hours (I was there between 8 and 9.30 pm, and had to wait for a cabin. Otherwise, perfect.
Oh, yes, if you're looking for the visitor entrance, and you're in front of the Events entrace, look at your right, there's a discreet stairway to a level down, where just where the canal is, you'll find the regular visitor entrance.
J. L.
Great pool and facilities, as you'd expect, considering its history.
The reception area could be greatly improved by having more staff on the desk, to avoid the enormous queues that have built up several times. Even just a couple of people dedicated to dealing with the lengthy membership queries that keep people who just need to scan their membership card waiting.
T. D.
Great gym, just the right amount of equipment to have a good workout and an amazing view of the pool too. Can’t wait to get in there for a swim soon also!
A. P.
A real treat to swim in this world class Olympic pool. Barofsky used by locals, take time to trek out to the pool for a great workout. Self organized lanes split by speed, patrons were very accommodating and staff friendly. For a visiting masters swimmer, this was a real highlight of our trip
M. R.
Absolutely beautiful. Swam in the 50m pool, and it was fab...
S.
So glad they opened this pool back up after the Olympics. It is a super fast pool when you race here, had a blast when I raced here. The pool is pretty impressive, definitely in awe when I walked in. There is a large changing "village" which is great because it removes any gender identity issues while maintaining privacy.
A. R.
Beautiful building, great location, but staff does not care what do the people do. On a training pool during lane swimming sessions, children often move across the lanes or just stand in a lane and staff does not care about that at all even though it is a serious risk.
R. G.
5 years after the event, but I finally got to swim the great pool, and a beautiful pool it is. I swam the competition pool. Great lane swimming. Easy in, change, swim and out. Not the greatest 50m pool in London. I reserve that for the Lidos, but up there with Crystal Palace for indoor pools. So much else to do in the area too.
J. Y.
Had the great priveledge of being a spectator at one of the The diving events as London Prepares at The Aquatic Centre. I just loved the building Designed by Zaha Hadid you really feel you are under the belly of the whale. It is beautiful the best swimming pool I have ever seen. You just want to jump in and make a big Splash it feels so inviting. Apparently the building has walls which extend to allow for more seating when it is full to capacity. The diving pool has been designed with windows deep down so that the competitiors can be filmed under water. I guess that facility exists in the swimming pool. Not sure what happened to the air conditioning because it was extremely hot. But a terrific experience. COME ON GB!!!
E. M.
Wonderfully light and timeless clean design. 50m competition pool is superb for lengths, has slow, medium and fast lanes and excellent changing facilities that include a spin dryer for swimwear.
A. A. A.
Great place for Olympic swimmers!
J. K.
If you are looking for a place to swim (not to stay in jakuzzi in between the bubbles), that s the place to go. Has three different pools, obviously the one for 50m is the best one, looking stunning and more quiet, as normally will be no kids there.
The one for 25 m is also fine, but next to that is a kids pool, so if you prefer have no kids around, 50m pool is yours.
Was using 25m pool yesterday and next to me were some school kids having so much fun, running and jumping on some air mats, looks like place has all the facilities to provide some very fun time for kids.
Not the 5* place, because :
- very inconvenient changing rooms, if you want to be in the female only changing room, you wont have a locker to leave your things near by, need to stroll trough the showers to the unisex changing room anyway. It is getting worst, when you are all wet after swim and have to run between shower, locker and the changing room, still have to be dressed as MALE cleaners everywhere. Doesn't feel right.
- Have been here few times and all the time service was perfect, but not yesterday, when I wanted just one day pass for the pool and the gym. Lady on the reception had no idea how to do that and then turned out, that to use a gym, you have to be a member (fair enough) or book it online. Why none of 3 people sitting free on the desks (i was in the mid of the day, was empty), couldn't help me to book it online, so I could ve use the gym is a mystery to me.
Btw, this is the place, where Tom Daily is training too.
P. W.
I swim here twice a week in the 50m pool and while the pool that is great, the changing "village" for the 50m pool is not. The mens loo is often not as clean as it could be. Today, the 'closed for cleaning' board to the entrace of the mens loo was there for an entire hour (basically the length of my swim). Where is one meant to use the loo when it's closed. The disabled ones are a lock and key system? So I ignored the sign and went in, no one was cleaning it at all. The soap dispensers have been just sitting on the countertops since before Xmas - not attached to the wall for easy use.
There WERE two spin driers for swimsuits but one was removed weeks ago and today, the other one was out of order. No sign or anything saying if there was an alternative one to use.
The mens shower area needs to be clenaed on a regular basis, there are always empty bottles and litter left inside them (which is the fault of the customers for not putting it in the bin in the first place) and one fo the shower cubicles has black mould on the grouting that has been there for a very long time. I've contacted management in the past but nothing seems to change. These are all little things that could be fixed easily but it seems no one pay attention. It's a shame because it takes the shine off what is a world class pool. They need to do better.
J. L.
Iconic venue but accessible to everyone. What's better than swimming in the same pool that have seen great performances from best of the best athletes every seen. Functionally it's clean, spacious and a pleasure to use.
P. S.
Fantastic. Very clean, helpful staff. To swim in the same pool as our Olympians had won gold medals is still a thrill . Great atmosphere here.

The London Aquatics Centre contains the official swimming pool of the London 2012 Olympics. The complex is based in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park, near the Stratford City Westfield shopping centre. The pool was built in 2011 and has a total construction cost of £269 million. It contains a full-size 50m Olympics standard swimming pool and a 25m diving pool. It has an official capacity of 2,800 people with room for upto 1,000 more for big events. Officially it is supposed to be a heated pool with a temperature of 25-28°C, but from my experience it feels somewhat cold when entering the water. Nonetheless, it's an excellent modern swimming pool with top class facilities......

Awesome place! Staff are lovely and helpful. Did a sprint triathlon here and regularly use the pool. Reasonably placed for a great venue. Worth booking in advance online to guarantee no waiting time, would try it out just for the experience.
E. s.
Surprisingly quiet pool given it's prestige but it has a very strange ambience as there is no natural light - given the blue filters on the window.
A. M.
Very nice place, Excellent Facilities, the gym and the 50 m pool are great. The price are fantastic as well. Would highly recommend coming here the pool is amazing and customer service is brilliant

I took 40 swimmers and their families from the Market Harborough Swimming Club for a two our private lane hire swimming training session. All our members aged from 6 to 50+ thoroughly enjoyed the session and were extremely impressed with the surroundings and facilities. Can't thank Catherine Duncan enough for all her help with our booking and being so patient. We will definitely be back again!

Nice to have a look around the venue, especially after being lucky enough to get tickets during the Olympics and see how its changed.
£2 for adults, free for kids.
Will definitely be going back to swim next time, but booking in advanced looked like a must.
P. S.
Great covid19 safe swim & gym. 50m pool, and simple online booking from mobile app or website. Good transport links, 108 bus stop right outside.
A. B.
Olympic swimming pool, very nice if you like swimming.
D. M. J.
The pool is huge & amazing, busy on sundays but pretty much empty on weekday evenings. The changing rooms are clean and big and the gym is working on their weights area - I have not a bad comment to make!
A. T.
Best swimming pool ever. Located in a beautiful park! Watch out on their website when the pool is privately hired as it does quiet often, with pro competitios!
p. c.
Good competition pool, very clean water, if you are lucky enough, you can see Tom Daley doing some jumps
C. M.
Decent pool and changing facilities, however if you're approaching 6ft tall or over then the changing cubicles don't provide much room and the hairdryer and hand dryers are too low down so doesn't really cater for taller people.
W. C.
Nice pool. Very popular. They have a population control. Better book ahead before visiting. Beginners please take note that you can't stand on your feet in the main pool. The whole pool has the same depth.
B. H.
We went to the inflatable session on a Sunday morning - 4 kids and my wife and I. it was thoroughly brilliant. We all had a great time on the 50m inflatables. The kids wore full jackets (mandatory). arrive early to take in the amazing building and facilities.
W. Y.
World-class swimming venue! Highly recommended!
J. R.
This pool cost £269million to build. That is £50 from every council tax payer in London. The architecture is amazing; repect to the late architect Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid she sure did design a beautiful work of art. If you look-up at the roof and the diving platforms it really is a sight to behold. It is all there, an awesome 50m competition pool with 10 lanes for an Australian style swim workout.
The saddest thing is....if it carries on this way it will look like 3rd-world dross in a few years. I only ever seen 1 member of cleaning staff and they sit-down on a machine that spreads long hairs across the floor (cross contamination) and leaves grey liquid in its wake. There is green mould starting to grow in some of the poolside cement. Has management even noticed or care?
A good idea would be to make the changing rooms shoe free and have some bleach used for cleaning.
A mixed review as such an expensive and awesome asset needs to have at least:
A: 2-fulltime cleaners, the visible presence of cleaners will also lead to more respect from customers. How does Sydney look after it's 10 50m pools so well and the UK cannot for its one centrepiece?
B: Gym needs an ab-machine or 2 as core-workout is key for swimming.
C: Some of the blue plastic removed from the windows at the top to allow natural light to penetrate. Otherwise the staff risk brittle-bone disease and depression even in the summer; the staff look miserable and tired
If improvement isn't made then the Olympic legacy will have failed. The copperbox and this are the only Olympic venues open to the public and it was the public who funded everything.
g. f.
I miss swimming here, used to go constantly. but as a result of changing jobs and going over to Shift work i never had the time or energy to come anymore which is a shame as it was the best swimming pool i have ever used in my life (bar the old Dolphin in Romford which is now an ASDA and had a wave machine) but still, plenty of locker and changing space for both pools and both maintained very well.
M. M.
Great swimming Pool! Be careful if you need to drive here as the roads can unexpectedly be closed as its inside the Olympic Park. Parking is pricey but secure. Pool is very clean but can ger very busy and the swimming lanes congested.
T. T.
A beautiful 2012 Olympics aquatics centre.
M. S.
The venue is good, but the staff on the doors at events are rude. I'm at an an all day event but can't bring anything to eat. There's little to buy inside either. They actually do food searches on the way in...
H. J.
The pool is FANTASTIC of course, and the staff friendly and helpful. Why not five stars? The arrangements for getting in are poor: one desk and one queue for everything, so you are quite often stuck behind someone with a complicated transaction. Would be better to have a simple entry queue separate from an enquiries desk. (There is a season ticket lane but you need to go six times a month to break even; making this pay as you go with a contactless swipe like the Underground has, would work well)
J. B.
Excellent place for a swim lots of pools to choose from including the 50m Olympic Pool.
T. C.
Very cold water for children's swimming! My son always needs his wetsuit.
Nice clean facilities though.
M.
Wonderful swimming pool with always enough space. It functions well, is clean with kind stuff. The building has incredible design and makes swimming unique experience. :)
J. H.
Clean changing rooms and organized staff, excellent inflatable water activities with helpful staff and plenty of lifeguards. Hot showers and drying facilities. Overall, highly recommend a visit.
J. V.
Great pool, love to swim here.

Larisa Latynina. Remember this name. For decades, she created aspirations for just about every Olympic champion. For a period longer than I have been alive, she was the greatest Olympian ever to have lived. In 1964, she was awarded her last medal that made her the highest awarded Olympian ever. And she held her record for ever. No one, surely, could beat her gargantuan feat. The Olympics was about excelling success, but not about obtaining such unobtainable goals. Until 2012. In 2012, a guy who had previously set the swimming world alight (in both success and failure) received a standing ovation to be truly the greatest Olympian ever to have lived. Michael Phelps is not an easy hero. Although a swimmer of unimaginable power, he left the world aghast as, to my most proud South African eyes, he was beaten in his own event - the 200 meters butterfly - by a 20 year old Saffer, Chad le Clos. Chad's dad became an international celebrity, Chad became an idol (I'm told, I prefer Jessica Alba), but the 2012 Olympic games speak only one name, not Usain Bolt, but the Phenomenal Phelps. And you can swim in the very arena this all took place. But you must swim. This is not a leisure centre. It is a three meter deep, 50 meter pool with lanes. If you want to chat to Doris doing something akin to a hippo stroke, then this pool is not for you. Be warned, this pool has Swimmers Snobbery. I know, because I am one. In this pool I broke my personal best for the 1500 - 21'07. And I am slow in this place. The streamlined bodies and incredibly fit swimming physics coming from the clean unisex changing rooms with lockers that take a refundable pound coin tell you straight away that this is a Serious Pool. This is for competitors and swimmers training to be competitors. Pull buoys, paddles, snorkels, timers, pace setters, pool-side bags abound at either end of every lane. The staff meet this seriousness by being rude, unhelpful, dictorarial and completely devoid of any customer service acumen. But if you are training, you don't need friends. You don't need staff. You need coaching, timers and something to push you and push you. And Push you. And as you spin onto your back to throw in a couple of lengths of backstroke, you stare at a building that holds awe in just its construction. I think the wave-like roof is the world's largest end supported roof. It has two 50 meter pools and a diving complex. The floors of the pools can be raised or lowered. It was designed by Zaha Hadid, so if you want to see what she envisaged in her mind, you need to make Stratford a placed to visit. You will be filled with the same awe as the spectators were in 2012. It is the spirit of swimming endeavours. It is a true asset of London (far more so than a big wheel, or a boring clock tower). It is a World Class venue.
D. B.
The have done a great job opening during this pandemic. The only criticism I would give is that not all the staff are wearing masks or facesheilds. It not always possible to social distance and wearing one can help
N. M.
They have massive modern pools for kids and adults.aquatic centre is for both lessons and for fun and also there is a gym .
B. K.
We've brought the kids here several times for the splash zone assault course in the main pool. Always leaves them tired but happy. A geat mix of Olympic atmoshere and Wipe Out fun!
Q. C.
Although always need to queue in front of the counter, this shiny new pool offers such a great facility! Very well maintained and, most importantly, where else can you find a full length swimming pool in East London?
T. H.
Amazing swimming pool!! If you like swimming, give it certainly a visit. Nice venue, great facilities, superb atmosphere. How often can you say you swam in a pool where Olympic games took place?!
r. l.
I poped into this shop today for some advice on a pond liner
Firstly I must say I was impressed that entry could not be made to the store without a mask ( I had a mask in my bag )adhering to covid 19 guidlines , safeguarding himself & his customers. A good a variety of fish & other products...
I. C.
The Aquatics Centre is a good sports ground overall. I know people who have participated in competitions here before and they enjoy it here. I have been here to once watch a half-sport, half-comedy show where I can say it was quite fun! However I only give it a 4/5 because inside it feels hot! And also the seats aren't the best they could'be been, little uncomfortable, squashed and hard to reach when the place is packed. All in all, whatever you're doing here, dress in some thin clothes otherwise you will literally faint and have a good time! ;-)
l. f.
Swimming here is such a joy, even when it gets busy (like water queuing) - the building is an amazing space from Zaha Hadid.
From the inside it’s huge and it’s good to look at the roof whilst swimming. From the outside it’s even better, round shaped and it makes an amazing effect! I love this place
D. N.
The best indoor swimming pool if you are serious about swimming lanes. Modern clean and affordable. You swim where professional swimmers swam during the Olympics in 2012. How cool is that?
R. A.
High end swimming pool and overall facilities. Incredible value for money. Absolutely great quality of everything! The best pool in London, especially if you are into water diving
i. s.
Amazing activity for your children and friends. The staff at the entrance are awesome and so welcoming. You will always have an amazing time. Keeps everyone fit and smiling!
F. T.
great facilities ~ clean, full olympic sized pool (the only indoor one in London I believe ) friendly counter staff. prices have risen since 2015 but still good value overall.

My children are attending a swim school at Aquatics at different levels.
So I came across many teachers...unfortunately some of them chat with each other bit too much , and it feels like there is lack of full commitment to teach, some teachers teach only frome outside pool( early stages), it feels bit odd to me.
Majority of teachers luckily are choosing to join kids in a water! There is lots of practice connected with fun, kids love it, and we as a parents feel great watching them!
ALL teachers are very polite and kind!
Despite of some teachers being out of pool or chatting, kids still progress. I am just giving my personal views😊
I wish cleaners would clean the floor at dop/pick up points more often, it seems to dirty at busy times.
I am not sure if I can give names but I would like to appreciatet an AMAZING teachers:Barbara, David,Jason, Zoe, and Tony which we only met once, but he is extraordinary and fully commited teacher!
Aquatics is a lovely place and we will be sending our kids there as long as possible😊

A really impressive facility in an extraordinary building - hat tip to Zaha Hadid.
I visited in April 2014, a month after it was converted from its Olympics mode and re-opened to the public. It's been a major transformation.... mostly involving glass! The previously hidden competitors' full size practise pool has been opened up with a glass wall and the two huge "wings" that extended the spectator seating up and out of both sides of the building have been removed and the sides glassed in making the interior really light & bright. There is still plenty of spectator seating on the balconies but they told me it's only 1,500 seats compared to 17,000 in 'Olympic mode'!
Under the balconies - at least under the one I saw - there are gym facilities and a dive training room with a 'pool' filled with foam blocks!
It's going to be a fantastic asset for the local area and London as a whole.
T. K.
Great olympic sized pool that allows you to swim in the footsteps (strokes?) of olympians. Gym isn't too busy either and has a good selection of machines.
Q. J.
Best ever pool in London, long lanes(50m), very rare in London.
Best ever population control system, never over crowded (at least when I go).
Only draw back: no comfy changing room.
J. H.
Great pool. Clean, light and well organised.
S. P.
amazing architecture but the place feels quite dingy. Doesn't feel like it has been designed with long term public use in mind - needs to be spruced up and made a lot lighter!!
D. C.
Amazing experience! Loved the competition! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

4th Oct - Big thanks to Sunny (at reception) for helping us schedule my kids lessons. Great to have them both go on a Saturday. A big relief ! And special thanks to swimming teacher Magarita (pre-school 1). My son was scared of water and wouldn't leave me. Magarita was fantastic - she helded him calm down, slowly introduced him to water and then made it fun with kids water games. He is now looking forward to his next lesson. Thanks Magarita once again.
The swimming facilities are great. The staff is helpful. Keep up the good work.

regularly there are people trying to go swimming wearing steet clothes (you know the ones)-very filthy backward habit but they just dont get it
showers too boiling hot in some cubicles and things left broken down and not fixed for too long
otherwise its a great centre with great pools and lovely staff.
J. P.
It is a great venue with excellent swimming facilities and affordable price. An example of a well managed Olympic legacy.
Don't forget to bring a pound coin as you will need one for the lockers!
A. M.
Went for a swimming and really enjoyed it. Swimming pool is big and everything is clean and tidy.
N. C.
A great (and affordable) place to do springboard diving- only downside is the changing rooms are basically a big room (with both males and females together) with tiny changing stalls. Definitely don't forget the flip flops!
J. L.
Great pool! It is of course quite new since there only since the Olympics and the price is really ok. Also I find it quite motivating to swing in a place where all those champions went!
M. D.
Crowded at times but is a good place to go both swimming and gym. Been a member for a year. A down side is you have to pay for parking, but there are bicycle stands outside the entrance that I always use.
M. P.
Olympic swimming pool, good exercise for squads
M. F.
Get in early for a great family swim. Lovely staff. Really fantastic building, sat and watched some divers having a post swim snack.
J. M.
It has two pool areas. Training pool which is 25M and the Olympic pool which is 50M. Good options for all swimmers. The training pool has different swim lane options for different speeds.
J. S.
I go for the gym facilities, which are decent. Not the biggest selection, but it has enough equipment to make me feel like I got a good work out in. The view of the pool across the gym is what makes this place great
A. F.
The London Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility with two 50-metre swimming pools and a 25-metre diving pool in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at Stratford, London. The centre, one of the main venues of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics, was used for the swimming, diving and synchronised swimming events. After significant modification, the centre opened to the public in March 2014.
P. D.
Wonderful architectual design and climate control of the swimming premises. The gym started getting more busy but it's still my favourite place to exercise.
T.
Dont't go on a Sunday morning as the place is packed out with kids. Only 3 lanes in the small pool for adults to swim in. The lockers were overpriced at a pound each. More provision should be made for tax payers to use the main pool during the weekends.
M. Q. (.
Love that 50m swimming pool. Great temperature, not too full with people in the evening. Sad they covered the windows. Was much nicer when I was able to see the sky.
m. s.
It is a great swimming accomodation. The centre has a magnificent design. The water was soft and felt good. I am a jewish disabeled castrated guy and the showers and toilets for less able persons were okay. הפין הוא נחמד
N. B.
On summer it's busy with events. For public the 50 mts pool is available early morning (6.30-8.30) and afternoon after 4 pm. Normally from 6.30 to 21/21.30/22.30
Check the site to see the availability.
s. s.
Fantastic place to relax and think about oneself. Great place for self realisation
A. M.
Really welcoming place for swimming.
J. S.
We started training here we w moved to London. It's incredible pool
A. V.
Quite incredible to have swam where gold medals were won... truly surreal
R. S.
The best swimming pool in London
L. H.
Now that the wings that provided extra capacity during the Olympics have come off, this building is really gorgeous and as it was intended to be. I went for the FINA World Diving Series and it was fantastic to see it in use again.
O. D.
Only 2 lanes available for the Olympic pool and the diving pool unavailable due to some obstacle course in both pools. Although everything looked mostly clean.
S. B.
Generally a great centre for the children swimming lessons, Have used their facilities for over a year, but had a bad experience with a swimming instructor named Mr German. Very rude and unprofessional.
R. L.
One of my favourite legacies of the Olympic games. The competition pool in this facility is a dream to swim in. Everyone should come and experience it. Keep the spirit of the Olympics alive!
C. V. d. Z.
I love swimming here - it's so vast you never feel cramped or crowded. Plus excellent, simple facilities make this a great place for a dip.
S. W.
Great swimming pools. Amazing accessibility as not like other swimming pools. Lots of changing places areas for disabled people and the pool pods are amazing!
J. T.
Great to have swimming pool, diving centre and gym all in one. Friendly staff and simple monthly membership available without being tied into a contract.
B. B.
best pool! somehow always has the perfect temperature, and it's very clean. love going there.
C. S.
Very nice sports pool, quiet on a Monday morning, very clean, beautiful! Well worth a visit if you like to swim your lanes in a wonderful environment
D. T.
Great pools, great front of house staff. Locks in most of the male showers are broken, only two working.
S. s.
Very busy today...no enough showers... need to wait...bit messy.... I don't like when people coming with dirty shoes at the pool entrance, no nice and nobody say anything to them! I'm coming here twice a week....
N. D.
The staff are SO FRIENDLY and helpful, there is a variety of equipment and the I love the swimming pools as well, no matter how busy it gets there is always space for everyone.
S. R.
Can never get through on the phone, tried 16 times this morning and no answer. Big problem during school holidays as they allow children to play in the swimming lanes although there is a massive play area in the pool. If you want to swim in the designated swimming lanes, forget it. Shame because during term time the swimming lanes are used for, yes swimming.
S. B.
Attended a swimming competition here, very impressed with the venue but wasn't allowed to take food or drink in, only reason being so they can sell you their overpriced beverages and snacks.
S. V.
One of the rare "swimmable" pool in London. Very clean facilities, helpful staff and 2 great pools (one more relaxed and one for faster swimmers).
O. D.
The best swimming pool in London! Clean, vast and open until late, great for those who want to avoid the crowds.
M. K.
A magic place to be
S. O.
Visit to London aquatics worth every penny
L. s.
It was okay, the pool was empty, only one other person in here other than myself, a bit of a weird atmosphere. Changing rooms were clean.
J. V.
Simply an amazing facility. As an engineer I'm always fascinated by the quality of the work that has been carried out here and the thoughts that went into each detail.
B. M.
Great safety, double lanes, one way paths... soo good to swim after such a long time
N. J.
Very clean, great covid safety system. Staff very friendly.
S. D.
The best swimming pools for every age and every ability, the have women session only , clean too
S. R.
Proper no frills swimming pool but on weekends half of the time the competition pool is closed for events
A. I.
David mcdermott, is one of the great teachers in the aquatics center. He tought me how to make my breststroke more powerful and better. If it was not for David I would still be struggling with it. He is also very polite and does not use any profanity at all as he is working children aged between 2 and over. Which makes him the perfect teacher. And finally I would also like to say that he knows what he is doing in terms of teaching the children in different ways so that they can understand what he wants them to do. Great teacher i will recomend him 100%
A. L.
An amazing building and great place to swim. Only problem is it's so big it's easy to get lost! 😂
p. a.
I really enjoy swimming here it's clean and the staff on reception are very helpful. Thank you
J. A.
Most of the staff are very helpful but some certainly need customer service training.
R. M.
amazing place to visit, go on the inflatable its amazing. Although the lifeguards were rude and lazy. But all in all its defentily worth it
S. U.
I love swimming here; however, I hate the price increases every few months
A. A.

R. Y.
Great for a morning swim session on the weekend, and nicely priced too for the experience! Beware of the depth and just how far a length is...
J. L.
The 50-meter swimming pool is by far the best indoor swimming pool in London.
T.
its nice place for a leisure place very modern and updated and has a big parking space right beside it.

Visited there as carrying out building checks as an on site Engineer.
K. E.
Great place for adults and children, swimming pools are very good
C. W.
This is a must-do, just make sure your check that you can swim in the competition pool rather than the practice pool. It feels like swimming in a spaceship :)
L. G.
Good facilities, easy to pay. Make sure you have a pound coin for the locker.
P. I.
My son does a regular lifeguard course here. Fantastic facilities as you would expect.
F. H.
What a place! Must be wonderful to swim in, but also a great experience for the spectators, even if you're up in the highest seats.
