Reviews of The Oval
G. P.
My first ever cricket game & what an experience. As a cricket fan this was something else. We got some seriously good seats in the hospitality section & were treated to some really good cricket.
Food & drinks were all included in the package & there were excellent offerings. Lunch was great & tea too.
L. W.
Fantastic venue been wanting to watch cricket here for a long time. Attended two days and experienced the ground from two different sides, superb views from both sides.
Absolute sun trap so definitely bring the sun screen
Definitely will return to ground for another test in future
T. B.
I love going to the Oval to watch matches. Commuting to the Oval is also pretty easy and accessible. You can go by train or tube and it is really few minutes walking distance from the station area. However, on match days, it is quite crowded and because of very narrow roads around the stadium, there is always huge traffic.
There is no dedicated parking for this stadium and it is better not to drive as well. You will get stuck in the crowd and there is no parking in nearby streets as well.
P. N.
Really well organised staff, very quick to get in and due to all the signage it's very easy to find your block. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Corinthian Roof Terrace and the staff were extremely helpful and it gave great views of the match. Even when I've been to the ground before and not in hospitality I've always had a great time, love going here!
K. B.
We visited The Oval for Fashion Show Live Feb 22. This is a great accessible venue, the staff where really helpful with us parking in the grounds, they had lifts to get us to the floors we needed, we can't fault this venue!
T. J.
As always one of the best sports arenas to visit and the Saturday of the test match versus India was the best days cricket I have ever seen there the atmosphere was electric. Thank you to all the staff at the ground for making it so special. I can't wait to return.
M. A.
Spectacular views and pleased to be here and witness team India heroic victory against england. I booked 21 tickets in J M Finn balcony and so happy with the view's as entire ground nicely covered and best place to watch match as this section they have soft seats facilities to make comfortable compared to other areas just plastic seating. I am disappointed with just extremely horrible beers bad odour in J M Finn balcony siting as I found spilled beers on floor and create some layers which has so strong bad odour apart from that best place to watch match .
A. K.
Can not be a better place to enjoy a test match if you like cricket. Excellent facilities, safety measures in place all around. Train station is only 5 minutes walk. Lots of option for food and beverage.
G. E.
Fantastic day, Being my 1st time at a English Cricket match let alone The Hundred, Fantastic atmosphere for all, All round entertainment from the 1st ball to last ball, Can't wait to go again pending shift patterns,
So much to take in and see from the Dj's commentary and the crowd cheering on their favourite team, Would recommend to family and friends
R. E.
New stand next to the pavilion is superb. View of the pitch (and surrounding area of the city) is amazing. Excellent facilities too - bought a drink between the innings at the Hundred without having to queue.
M. P.
This stadium is just beautiful and different. Featured in many songs and movies. I am not sure if this has a ticket to go IN as my uncle was paying for everything for the day we visited. It was just good.
B. Q.
Historical cricket ground. 2 minutes walk from underground station. Big capacity stadium. Plenty of food stalls inside.
A. J.
It was my first experience in the England to watch cricket match in the stadium. I really enjoyed that day. Brilliant. India won that test match.
A. K.
Had a wonderful experience here with the family. Although the queue looked long for the entry, it only took 7-8 minutes to get in from the back of the queue. When inside it was a great atmosphere for the Surrey Vs Somerset one day. Crowd were good, staff were helpful, toilets were clean and never had to wait. Wife confirmed that women's toilets were good condition too and kids were happy to use them as well. Seating could be more comfortable and more area could be covered seating, but I suppose if it rains you're not going to be able to watch anything anyway! Overall great experience. I dropped a star because the gift shop is really expensive, it's very large but doesn't have a great selection of items.
A. L.
A great experience attending 'The Hundred' match for Welsh Fire v Oval Invincibles. Stewards were everywhere so finding seating was simple. Food and drinks available at multiple stalls and toilets were also located in many areas. Overall a great experience!
R. T.
Superb facilities, on all sides of the ground, with a multitude of options in terms of food and drink. I was sat in the Galadari stand, and had a great view of the action, but I suspect the views are pretty good almost everywhere. Atmosphere was great and everyone was jovial and geared up for a great time. Weather was great when I went, which helped too of course.
P. s.
Nice ground in general - no issues getting in.
Covid procedures were a bit too relaxed. No check on phone etc. No one checks.
But atmosphere and actual ground is nice.
M. D.
Awesome, witnessed Match between India vs England, India won the game.
H. W.
Just visited for a walking event. A large open venue with good social distancing measures.
P. B.
Great stadium been gradually improved over the years. Now very good with excellent views all round. Obviously quite expensive but worth it highly recommended
S. H.
Nice stadium, very clean and well kept. Loved the cricket too
A. D.
Amazing stadium.Great view of the pitch. Quite clean. Lots of food shops and bars. As well as ice cream pizza and fries. 😋
V. B.
First time at the oval and I must say it's a big and airy venue great staff! And attended an amazing fashion show! By Creativeth & Fashion show Live! Go check them out online!
S.
Went to watch a world cup match here. The crowd was amazing. Seating area is not the most comfortable but it's decent. Love the ground it is beautiful. Had many food options and beer was not that expensive either. Had an amazing match that day! Loved it
H. T.
One of the best international grounds in the world. The cricket isn't too bad either. Great access by public transport and good facilities on site. If you can't make an international match then would advise you go for a T20 game in the evening. There are 2 shops on site which sell merchandise and usually at least 2 flood vans depending on who is playing.
P. M.
Visited for school reunion lunch in Ashes Suite. Excellent food service and welcoming location.
J. S.
Great facilities for both men & women (sometimes not the case for women in sports grounds!). Good food selection and plenty of covered seating for the rain showers.
P. F.
Nice stadium with a good selection of food and drink but expensive.
P. C.
Good ground and excellent Hundreds Eliminator matches, Southern Braves men through to final
j. g.
Wonderful venue for the cricket - great view , wonderful food and great customer service
A. K.
good seating arrangements. supports panoramic view of a stadium, have good food and drinks.
S. K. L.
Went to the Oval after many years to watch England vs India. Oval looks absolutely fantastic.. It's been completely redone whilst still managing to maintain its history. Lots of food and drinks places. Great place to watch cricket too with all the views of London.
R. M.
The Oval cricket ground has seen some mighty investment, the ground now moves and hums with the happy crowds. More food stalls and facilities have lifted this to one of London and Englands best cricket venues.
They layout and views are just about right, though a little more cover (we are in England) would be nice for the some of the seating. But get a summer game here and it's a true sun spot.
R. R.
Great venue. Saw the hundred cricket eliminator here. Beer and food was expensive.
J. B.
Excellent days cricket, the ground and all amenities were great and the staff prompt and helpful.
D. G.
Cool place to watch Cricket. Will definately keep visiting. If you have never been to this ground what are you waiting for. The Hundred is on in full swing. Catch it while you can this summer.
N. S.
Nice and easy access to the ground. Lots of bars available for drinks. Great cricket!
C. J.
Best cricket ground in London. It's small cricket pitch but you are not going there to watch the game. Main thing is the vibe in the crowd. Very fun and enjoyable. Grab a drink and enjoy the game.
A. G.
I go with a year 5 primary school class every Thursday afternoon...staff are great, facilities and IT suite are top notch! Plus we've had guided tours as part of the experience 🥳👏🏻😁
J. O.
Great day at the LV Test. The facilities were first class and the view from the box absolutely brilliant. A great venue
A. T.
Quick and easy to get in for The Hundred. You’ll need to complete a covid waiver in the app before you can see your QR code ticket. No covid checks on site. Communication inside the stands is poor and the PA might as well not exist. Rain cancelled the woman’s game and then two pitch inspections finally allowed the men’s game to proceed 80 mins late - we had to miss it for a long journey home. Crisps and coke for 2: £10.
S. J.
Highlights of the Oval tour October 2021. An amazing tour with the knowledgeable and passionate Paul to guide us. A great mixture of the future, the amazing viewpoints of the ground and London plus a deep appreciation of the past. The oldest bat, The Bradman doors and all the fantastic players who have graced the stage. A must for all cricket lovers, whoever you support.
T. P.
It was a very nice stadium and I had a great day watching the cricket. However I must say I came back later to do a tour and the tour guide was sometimes boring, he talked about many irrelevant things he mentioned. He would also only talk to a few people and completely ignored me and my friend. He was too old and Lord's is a much better ground. It was very boring for my kids and would not suggest it for children or anyone. It was very boring.
S. N.
Lovely ground, not quite the home of cricket but it's good
a. s.
Visited this place during the World Cup time ... Loved the ground and the overall experience... the overall ambience was electric and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.... the historical pics and wall mountings are very good ... loved the old age feel to it ... being a. Cricketer myself loved it thoroughly
J. K.
Did a tour and afternoon tea with cricket mad other half and we both loved it. A bit of walking required and a few stairs but the views are more than worth it. Afternoon Tea was scrumptious 😋
R. C.
An amazing venue and great hospitality too. I was privileged to be invited by a client who had booked a table at the green room for the Australia v India World Cup match. The hosts were very friendly, there were good food options and we were served plenty of drinks throughout the day. I would recommend the Oval to watch a game of cricket and the hospitality is ideal for entertaining clients.
N. S.
A big cricket ground with various entry points depending on your ticket and allocated seats. Good views from most seats. 90% is exposed to the elements so be prepared for the inclement weather.
The bars are good, new handy cups with handles for beers are useful, saves plastic and easier to hold! Lots of plastic around but for safety, no glass is allowed.
S. S.
I love this ground, great selection of food stalls and nice to see a decent craft beer bar. Pity they ran out of craft beer early and I was obliged to drink Greene King beers instead - which isn't my bag at all. Food and drink is EXPENSIVE but I guess you expect that at a sports ground (although £10 for a duck wrap is just highway robbery). Still, the ground IS lovely.
M. R.
Beautiful stadium, lovely ground, comfortable seating, 15k+ capacity, several different categories and ticket price to suit your requirement, a variety of options to eat, drink and be merry. What else would you ask for, to watch an exciting cricket match??
One of the finest cricket ground not only in the United Kingdom but, around the world.
A. K.
Fantastic ground, facilities and ambience. Recommend subscription to Surrey and England membership for added benefits
L. L.
Nice ground with a good atmosphere and plenty of food and drink options. Thanks to Theresa (disability liaison officer) for all your help and for making us feel so welcome. The Hundred game was super exciting and I would definitely recommend this ground. It's easy to get to and staff is very helpful.
P. B.
Having not been to watch a cricket match at the Oval for many years it has changed a lot. The stands are much improved and we had great seats. Plenty of food and drink options, but also long queues. The only thing that slightly spoilt the day was people consistently getting up to buy drinks and not necessarily focusing on the Cricket.
I. R.
Great & inspiring venue... If you love the sport of Cricket.. This is place you have to visit...
F. t. L.
While they don't have halal options under unless a Muslim team is playing. There closest eat is a fast food chicken shop towards Vauxhall bridge. As for the Oval, it's always developing. The ground is as good as any and also hosted the first FA cup match. They have Fully Halal food in International match days in the form of Michelin Star restaurant Kensington Tandoori Indian cuisine.
A. B.
Need to ban certain instruments like Lords has. Appreciate the atmosphere but having a huge drum being constantly beat for 2 hours, 10 metres behind you, in metal stands after having paid £80 a head is not fun. Ticket office did find us new seats which was commendable, but still missed a lot of the afternoon session.
P. L.
Still pretty much my favourite place to watch tests in England but some reservations. As usual not enough loos, big queues, and not always maintained fully. Big queues for food & drink and too many things run out. Also moving round the ground at busy times can be nearly impossible.
Love going here but could do with some creative thinking on these issues.
P. T.
I was lucky enough to be invited to hospitality in the Mark Butcher Room in the main stand - which was superb. The view was excellent and the food and drink top quality.
We were also lucky with the weather and the cricket - so a REALLY good day.
D. D.
Great fun watching India vs England on a perfect summer noon.
M. S.
We were in the Ashes Suite(Hospitality) and this was probably one of the best experiences on a cricket field. Excellent stadium with good spectator facilities... and what a match!!!
B. H. A. E.
Fantastic venue for work events, banquets, dinner meeting, a very large venue for loads of event space. Amazing ground to watch cricket, loads of very friendly staff who work here and will help you.
P. B.
Good space for business events and business networking. Network My Club host an event here every two months which is quite good.
A. S.
Great venue at which to watch a test match. Easy access to seats and other facilities. Simple travel alternatives and not too difficult to get to for the elderly. Atmosphere was fantastic!
M. A.
A great view of the match and all the match day fun, but typical slow process and excessive queuing at the bars and food outlets
S. S.
Was there for the Cricket World Cup match India vs Australia in July 2019. The stadium is nice, not too big, and you can enjoy the game with great view of the ground. Easily accessible via cabs and public transit.
J. D.
Amazing experience enjoying the ICC World Cup 2019 England Vs SA opening game. Iconic venue! Was lucky enough to be in the hospitality suite and it's definitely the way to enjoy the day. Staff were attentive and friendly, food was sublime, rest areas were very welcome on such a hot day with some air conditioning. Will be back for sure!
g. h.
The Stadium has a recent refurbishment, new gate entrances easier access for wheelchair users too
B. I.
Great experience for a team meeting. Lovely food, clean and amazing view. I would love to come here one day with my family to watch cricket
I. H.
Enjoyed a tour of the ground and afternoon tea, plus watched a fair chunk of a county championship cricket match at a wonderful stadium steeped in history. Very knowledgeable tour guides (Mike and Paul) and all round hugely enjoyable day.
M. S.
Fabulous place,Fabulous time, need more food outlets is only downside
S. S.
great cricket ground and very accessible from Oval tube station. A 2 minute walk.
Great to have 2 fantastic cricket grounds in london.
Loads of places inside to get food and drink too. Luck was not on our side last night as a lot of rain shortened the game, but still a great venue
S. D.
Attended 100 Eliminator good atmosphere easy access and good seats. Food in ground very over priced fish and chips £12, frozen chips from a bag and mediocre fish with soft drinks £3 a tin..... Took a family of four with tickets costing as much as the food!
A. R.
Was at the final day of the 4th Test between England v India in September 2021. It was my first test match and I loved it. The sun was shining, the fans were all respectful of each other tighter created a positive and fun atmosphere. The (mens) facilities were hygienic enough for a place that gathers so many people and I personally never waited long in the queue to get food and beverages. Great day out!
J. K.
Was a great evening out. Easy to navigate around and find our allocated seats. Lots of facilities available and food/drink stores open (although we brought our own) throughout the match. Seating was comfortable enough for a few hours and the view was good.
B. H.
amazing 👏 that's why its called home if cricket 🏏😀😉🙌
K. S.
Excellent venue for a day out at the cricket. My 6th visit to the oval to watch test match cricket and never disappoints, well except for when it rains. My favourite viewing area has to be the OCS balcony, not the cheapest seat in the house (£132.00) but comfortable with a great view. Ground is surrounded by plenty of bars and the best of street foods available at international test matches. Pies and bacon rolls start at £5.50 then cod and chips or a chicken and pork wrap comes in at £12.00. On average foods about £9-£10 a dish. Beers around £5.65 a pint after you pay a £1 for your plastic pint cup. But the stack-cup Is a great idea! Cocktails are £12.00.
Public transport is widely available. But parking locally is very easy of a weekend around the ground as permit parking is 7am-7pm mon-fri. Staff are pleasant and friendly.
G. s.
Had a nice experience overall. Staff is very friendly and funny. Seats are comfortable here. Lots of places to eat, also you can bring your own food here. There is a bar as well but bit over priced just a pint of beer🍺.
You must bring your umbrella(apply some sunscreen as well) if your going on Sunny day. Stadium is very close to Oval station so it's very convenient if you are coming via train.
C. M.
Beautiful ground. I was there for a company conference and they did a brilliant job. Awesome place. Would love to go when there's a game on.
C. B.
Had an amazing tour of the ground. It was a brilliant day and included match tickets and afternoon tea. Great for cricket and non cricket fans.
S. W.
Great venue, haven't been a few years and first sports event since pandemic....wonderful day!
g. b.
Amazing place to watch cricket, one of the premier grounds in the country which has a blend of modern facilities and traditional. Transport, it is best to travel by train unless you are local, due to its location driving and parking is tough. I always go via the Oval or Vauxhall tube stations (oval closer) which are both walkable to the stadium. Surrey also put on a fantastic show for domestic and t20 games, with huge amounts of food drink and shopping options.
D. D.
One of the best places to watch Cricket in the country. There isn't a bad seat in the stadium to take in the action. They have recently gone cashless though so make sure to bring your card if you want to buy food and drink.
S. P.
Expensive, expensive ,expensive ,expensive, authorities must look into pricing structures of various vendors and how the prices are arrived at.
A. N.
Went for 1st time to watch the hundred, but rain interrupted day meant ladies match cancelled and a late start for mens.
A really nice venue with plenty of decent food and drink options... shall definitely be back.
W. K.
Great day out fantastic atmosphere. England v India 5th Test and Alastair Cook final game for England.
Plenty to do around the ground many food trucks, Fish and Chips, Burgers and pies. Beer Champagne and Pimms to name a few. Seat are comfortable but plastic so a cushion if you are there for a long time. Great view of the pitch and two large screens to see replays.
M. C.
First visit here to watch the opening game in the cricket 100. Ticket cost £20, great value for money, excellent view of the match. Fast entry into the ground. Lots of food and drink available, long queues at the pizza stands
W. O.
Very close to the Oval train station. Beautiful cricket pitch. Also has lot of rooms that can be rented for conferences
J. G.
Nice ground.. Much smaller than what it looks like on TV. However seats are very cramped, sitting shoulder to shoulder. Not much space to move in your seat. Also security at the ground is Horrendous. They only checked my bag, which had food in. No check of my coat or trouser pockets.
K. M.
Great Saturday at the cricket.
England v India.
J. B.
I love this venue although recommended mask wearing on the concourses was very lax. I had a great day watching cricket with good friends.
C. C.
I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the 4th day of the 4th Test against India in the Members' Stand, which was an incredible experience. Amazing ground, with so much history to see, including the Honours Boards and the Bradman Doors. An unforgettable day, even if the match itself didn't go entirely to plan!
M. B.
Did the Landaid charity sleep out, and what a place to do it in, such wonderful views out and across London. Such a shame the gas works are going, they are such an iconic view
M. T. O.
Brilliant day, England vs India, 4th test 1st Day
S. E.
Great venue for a large meeting. Lovely views and a nice airy feel to the meeting room. Coffee was a bit limited, but lunch served in the terrace was nice. Staff were attentive and it's got easy access from most parts of London and surrounding areas.
D. L.
A great day out with friends. Had a superb lunch in the 175 Suite. Very good food & value for money. Staff were friendly & helpful.
I. Y.
A great ground to watch cricket especially if you happen to be a member or a members guest. The pavilion is on several levels, and from the top you get a birds eye view of London. There is an excellent range of real ales served in the Long Room and, at £4 per pint, prices are good for central London.
E. P.
Great experience here as part of the Cricket World Cup. Very well organised, a lot of staff on hand at the stations and entrances. Good seats from the side boundary and as it didn't rain, a very enjoyable day.
A. A. P. (.
My First time attending a match here was during the Hundered. I bought a gold ticket which the seat was opp the pavillon which you can see bowlers going up to bowl from on some of the overs. My first time actually watching a Womens Match in Any sport in the stadium and also first mens hundred match also. Great Day out. Second time attending was the Hundred London Derby day. I bought a bronze ticket. It was a view from the side of the stadium but great crowd on that day for both matches. Awesome day out. Can't wait to go back next year.
D. B.
Great venue more down to earth than Lord's. Better tea!
K. V.
Absolutely loved my time at the oval , well laid out easy to find your way around great atmosphere and plenty of places to eat and not that expensive considering. Staff very helpful ,would not hesitate in coming back.
J. A.
Fabulous cricket ground on a par with Lords
S. h.
I've been to the Oval a few times over the years but on this occasion I attended as a new member having decided to join albeit a bit late into the season! I was impressed with the organisation and the level of support staff available to assist and advise you. It's a very impressive set up. Lots of facilities and not much queuing for food or drinks and toilets.
This was a cup game so there were plenty of spare seats, I'm looking forward to returning on Sunday which should be a full house for the 100.
A. A.
It's a great place but not so sure it is family friendly yet or child accomodating but still a great venue to watch and enjoy a days cricket.
M. A.
Seats inside stadium are crammed and very close to each other therefore your body touchs person sitting next to you which is very inconvenient. Passing from one seat to another is also has same issues. Its same issues in walking around restaurents/xoffee shops when you come out during lunch/drinks. Massive queues make situation horrible. Its a small ground with all facilities though and 5min walk to 'Oval' tube station.
J. C.
Lovely evening at The Oval for Bromley Cricket Club's 200th anniversary. Guest speakers Lord Gower and Chris Cowdrey were wonderfully entertaining
A. M.
Amazing to have a look around inside while it's empty!! Must say I felt like a VIP!! 🥰🤩👸🏼
E. D.
It was very efficient getting in, there was a bag check and it didn't take long. The view was really good. Only negatives would be the price of drinks and food, and the lack of hot beverage options. They only had filter coffee and were running out of tea, at tea!
I. D. M.
Managed to get a ticket after the leasing of lockdown, so good to watch live cricket again in the sunshine
M. T.
Top ground, hospitality was certi, seen England destroy and be destroyed here. Great for county matches - let you bring in booze for these games and let you stroll on the pitch - top scored here once playing one hand one bounce on the square got applauded off
S. W.
Attended for a 3 day conference; great servive from the refreshments team throughout, clean modern faciliuties throughout including WiFi. Great venue
M. G.
Fantastic venue. Great atmosphere..i recommend a cricket game here!
S. S.
My first cricket match and that too in this iconic stadium. I had expected it to be larger. It was beautiful. I liked the fact that the catering was done in an echo-friendly way, all single-use plastic returned and recycled, etc.
T. H.
Nice venue for a day out. The internal layout and service are suitable for large crowds, but there isn't much room if the rain comes in!
M.
I was working there on a new stand there building lovely world famous cricket ground a good view from every seat.
I. R.
A beautiful cricket ground which is centrally located for everyone to get to. A 1 minute walk from oval underground station. This ground host county and international games throughout the summer.
C. W.
What a ground, such a treat and always a top venue to watch cricket!! Love it.
O. M.
What can you say? The home of cricket (sorry Lords!!) ...heart of saaf London and a real prize of a national standard cricket venue. Went here for work event but worth popping by just for that.
R. t.
Very nice visit to the oval for the vitality blast cricket. Friendly crowd, good food and great entertainment with me and my companion leaving having a good time. Can only give 4 stars due to limited drinks options for those not able to drink alcohol, but will be happy to raise this to 5 should there be at least one non alcoholic beer available to buy.
s. t.
Amazing vibe, seating arrangements are good, neat and clean stadium , very helpful staff, clean toilets amazing food options , overall a very nice experience.
M. P.
Great experience. Would recommend to everyone. I am not a cricket fan but tour was very interesting. My partner, who has followed and played cricket all his life was thrilled to bits
A. P.
We were seated on one of the best stands which is Pavillion for the India - Australia Cricket World Cup Match 2019 - Loved the ground as it had clean washrooms throughout the match, amazing security but the only thing which was a little annoying was the one hour long lines to get food, it would be nice if there was a provision of having more number of stalls knowing the number of people who were going to be present for the match. Overall it was amazing and a wonderful experience! 😃
T. A.
Great food and drink options at fairly decent prices for a London venue. Only downside was it took a long time to get in due to issues with ticket scanners, arrive with time to spare if you want to be in your seat for the first ball.
D. L.
A hallowed cricket ground - dare I say it, nicer than Lords too. Much more of an atmosphere. Great views from all seats and easy transport. Good foodstalls and bars too, some offering craft beer.
R. P.
Brilliant stadium and had an opportunity to see last day of the fabulous test cricket between England and India
S. S.
Perfect place to watch the cricket in summers. Had an amazing time. The facilities and the staff enhances the viewing experience.
V. K.
You will really fall in love with cricket if you watch a live match in Oval. The place where the Ashes rivalry started. The photo collection they have inside stadium is amazing.
h. e.
Just 3 minutes walk from the Oval underground station (zone 2) Northan line. Good number of buses available. Number of fast food restaurants, bars are available in the stadium. Disable access, disable toilets, baby chengong facilities are available. Drinking water tap is available. Pushchairs are welcome.
R. P.
Amazing day of cricket at Oval. Lovely stadium and great views of the game. Food a bit pricey though.
J. F.
Went to the Test Match versus India the day after Cook's final century and witnessed Anderson becoming the most successful fast bowler in Test Match history. Great day!
D. D.
Had a wonderful day at The Hundred yesterday!! The accessibility liaison officer, Theresa, is just amazing!!! The games were exciting, the atmosphere was electric, and the staff were all so lovely and helpful. Awesome day out 🏏😁👍
P. D.
Went for a works Christmas do, the service there was amazing, catering was very well organised and carried out by a slick team of professionals. The security staff were present but not oppressive. All in all it was a wonderful venue for a party or function, and of course the surroundings are steeped in history too..well worth a look if you're thinking of a place to have an event.
E. S.
Fantastic place and so easy to get to. Would suggest walking the few extra mins to go to the next tube stop on the way home after a game rather than waiting in the crush at the oval tube stop. There are loads of food and drinks options but are quite expensive!
C. C.
Best atmosphere for cricket. Very easy for access. Less stuffy than elsewhere.
C. G.
The real Home of cricket. Amazing history; Bradman’s final game, the ‘birth’ of the Ashes, the first FA Cup final, the first England international football match, international rugby fixtures and the first varsity rugby match. I was a member for 3 years. The seating outside of the member’s pavilion isn’t great, the toilets are in desperate need of renovation and modernisation and the food is very expensive inside the ground. But as for prestige, history and atmosphere it’s unbeatable.
A.
Great iconic venue great staff
V. P.
Good stadium, cost of food and beverage higher than expected and did not reflect the cheap ticket prices.
E. Z.
Watched Bangladesh play in CWC19 and had a fantastic time. Great match and good facilities but feel like the seats could do with being upgraded and some halal food options for a match with an Asian team would have added that extra touch (although it was still Ramadhan). Views of the game were great and I would expect that counts for the whole ground. Kudos to the staff who weren't as strict as previous tournaments and this allowed the fans to have fun dancing and moving more freely through the stand
J. B.
It's a cracking venue - all.seats have a good view and there are plenty of food choices. Beers aren't terribly priced but wasn't blown away by staff, who lacked some intelligence and aggressively accused me of vaping when I wasn't?!?
I. B.
The Oval, currently referred to for sponsorship purposes as the Kia Oval, is an international cricket ground in Kennington, in the London Borough of Lambeth, in south London. The Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845
H. J.
A wonderful place to come, if you're a cricket fan. Great views. My personal favourite ground, even over Lord's.
R. T.
Great evening of T20 cricket - easy and efficient entry and staff got through the queues at the bars really quickly.
Good eco approach to the drinks - pay £1 extra for the plastic cup with your first drink then hand it in for a refund when you leave.
Easy public transport from both Oval and Vauxhall stations and pretty quick getaway at the end of the night.
A. M.
Well managed stadium. Free Drinking water available..
Amazing views..
The digits are not clearly visible on the score board.
R. O.
Superb night at the Oval for Surrey CCC T20 match against Glamorgan CCC.
Good beers, good atmosphere and a packed ground made it a night to remember and return for.
The Oval and T20 Cricket make a great evening's entertainment.
P. J. S.
I was there in the hospitality suite at the Peter May stand for the India v Australia Cricket World Cup. I must admit I was quite disappointed compared to the price paid for the tickets:
1- our view was restricted (as you can see in the pictures)
2- the seats are so tiny and cramped you can barely sit on it and you know you will spill your drink if you pop it in the little cup holder
C. O.
What an afternoon even though it was t the first team, the cricket was first class so thoroughly enjoyable. Relaxed, spacious, limited but good menu and 'we' won 🤠🎉
A. S.
Fantastic day at the test, great view , friendly staff.
Brilliant test venue.
Thanks for the memories Surrey CC.
A. P.
Great venue for cricket....excellent facilities and comfortable views all round the ground...food and beverages not cheap...and when at a big game you can queue for ages..
D. H.
Another fascinating day of test cricket (•‿•)
A. K. T.
Went there 1st time for world cup 2019, Bangladesh v South Africa.
Fantastic experience, Amazing atmosphere, good match, Bangladesh win, Great stadium, staffs was really nice and close to train station and Buses.
T. M.
Was at oval for the Oval Invincibles vs London Spirits match, and what a match it was. The atmosphere was fantastic and the players did not disappoint. The only thing though, only have 1 option for cider, which was a bit disheartening.
N. P.
What a lovely stadium to watch cricket friendly staff well marshalled in and outside the ground good range of bars and take away food stalls great day out
M. J.
Excellent view in the new stand.
Bar wasn't open for a one day game which was disappointing. Plenty of room for my mobility scooter.
S. M.
Lovely ground with fantastic atmosphere and we even got 2 laps of a Mexican wave! However, I found security guards unhelpful and rude, with one mumbling "ask someone else" when asked the directions. Overall, a great night out.
A. W.
Great ground, good atmosphere. Food & drink a little pricey. Queues were long & pizzas over an hour wait which spoils the game a bit!
P. Q.
Great day at the One Day Cup at the Oval. Warm welcome by the staff, good food choices and a Surrey win with an awesome 140 not out with 11 sixes from Tim David. Felt covid safe through our day!
V. L.
Cricket was excellent, there was obviously no crowd control, everyone pressed up against each other (gross) I see you've really made an effort and the usual young drunks having a jolly time. 👎
T. W.
Great stadium with great atmosphere. Easy enough to get to food and drinks bars. Top venue to watch a top sport. #BarmyArmy
W. G.
20/20 cricket at the Oval. Great evening, even as I’m not that into cricket. Very well organised drinks and catering work really well and staff and security all really helpful.
I can recommend the lamb souvlaki tastes like I was back in Greece.
Y. 4.
had a great time at the festival. Oval was a perfect venue. although during one of the hottest days of the year all the aircon was switched off.
The festival was better than expected and very professional.
B. W.
Great location, great day out at the last day of the 3rd Test Match versus South Africa. Facilities much improved over the years but be prepared for VERY high prices. £8.50p for a pulled roast pork bap? Hmmmmm?
T. H.
This stadium has a fantastic layout filled with vendors including the best pizza I have had in such a long time! Reasonably priced beers and beautiful atmosphere!
A. I.
Probably my favourite ground so far. Always great atmosphere. However, they need to provide prayer facilities.
R. B.
Great venue, good food, alcohol slightly expensive
s. o.
My favourite place for watching England play Test cricket. Only about a 10 minuite walk from Vauxhall rail station. Wherever you sit at the Oval you get a good view and the pitch is level.
A. S.
Great atmosphere. Good facilities and amenities. Not enough food stalls / counters. Plenty booze / drink counters.
Overall, I expected a bigger ground. Its a pity the capacity is only 25000.
E. L.
Family enclosure was a fantastic experience, my son loved it. Easy access, great help from staff, seats were comfortable... And Surrey won! Thank you all
S. W.
Lovely place been here the last 25 years same time, said before drink prices way over the top glad I bring a cool bag for food but oh well hope I will be here next year.
J. W.
Brilliant tour. Great experience. Look forward to seeing it on a match day
P. N.
An epic of a Test Match at one of the most amazing grounds . No wonder it's one of the best and most preferred grounds.. Stunning ambience with great crowds
S. B.
Good place to watch cricket. Well organised venue, adequate toilets etc. Queues for food stands could be better organised
M. B.
Great venue plenty to eat and drink but be warned very expensive if you are a cricket fan go its a memorable experience
D. A.
Nice ground in Central London, food stalls limited and very expensive, good public transport links to ground. Attended CWC19 Bangladesh vs South Africa
J. H.
The Oval is a brilliant venue to watch excellent cricket.
But no-one can justify £6.80 for under a pint of weak beer, in the name of 'The Hundred'.
Shame on you Surrey CCC.
K. D.
Interestingain dining hall in the club. Not the best looking stadium I have been in but passable.
V. S.
Great win for India! Well managed venue.
M. W.
Here for a conference. Plenty of rooms with a nice view of the field. Rooms seemed a little worn in some cases but the staff and facilities seemed to work well for the day.
N. H.
Great venue, great view from all seats and get the right match and the right day an amazing atmosphere too.
B.
Great day watching Surrey vs Warwickshire.
Atmosphere was good and the grounds are amazing. Gives Lord's a run for its money!
A. C.
A great day out at the cricket as always and travel to and from Vauxhall today was without any issues which makes a nice change 😃
B. L.
It's always a delight to have a day's cricket at The Oval. Friendlier that Lord's, it's a welcoming venue with good views of the play from anywhere in the ground. The catering outlets are many and some can be pricey (so shop around) but the quality is good.
D. T.
Amazing ground really intimate you are close to the action. Fantastic hospitality services and with an upper deck with bars and BBQS the Kia oval is a fantastic day out.
r.
Hard to find seats as the numbers were worn off. But the stewards were ever so friendly in helping us find seats. Well done to the polite staff
A.
It is the fantastic cricket ground across the world . I am loving to have a tour there .the crowd is supporting to the sides .
M. h.
This is very nice cricket ground in uk,but food service is not enough, they need to more care about food place.
J.
One of the best cricket ground in UK. Don't miss out a match when your team plays.
M. M.
Fantastic venue - excellent last test at the Ashes 2019
M. M.
Best cricket ground to visit, awesome ground with good food options available inside the ground
U. A.
One of the oldest and best cricket ground in the world, I went there to cover England vs Bangladesh match in ICC Champions trophy and then the final of the same event between Pakistan 🇵🇰 vs India 🇮🇳, crowd are very supportive and lively.
T. L.
India vs Pakistan Final - excellent ground and really good day out with my son
P. B.
pleasent experience ..shame they have to hike prices up ..£10.50 for a dank pie and 8 chips
cricket is enjoyable tho
M. K.
Oval stadium one of popular cricket ground. The entrance is confusingly. Visible from Road. Parking is costly. Food and drinks inside are too costly.
N. S.
Fabulous day at the test.
Very friendly staff at corinthians terrace.
Good game as well.
Nice weather
N. F.
Went for a lovely evening to watch a T20 match. Great cricket ground with good access, good facilities and a good view from standard seats!
D. M.
Whilst there was a selection of cask real ales, they were over priced and didn't match the menus on the bar. Although having now received my credit card statement, some of the beers were charged at £3.90, when the advertised price was £5.
R. T.
Good atmosphere. A fantastic selection of food. Free flowing beer. Oh yes, the cricket is usually pretty decent too!
L. S.
I was there for a 1/2 marathon for Charity!
Great experience!
N. L.
Superb day at the Oval, take a picnic and/or soft drinks, or a well stocked wallet! All very well organised though.
A. H.
Very impressive location for a company convention, which was the reason for me being there. Very attentive staff and excellent catering
S. B.
Super experience to watch the Sri Lanka vs Austria CWC2019 from the Pavilion
S. K.
Great seeing ground. Easy to access by public transport. Friendly staff and lots of food and drink options.
S. P.
Good time at the oval. Good facilities and services.
A. P.
Great place to watch cricket, excellent facilities and wide range of food stalls for all
R. T.
Overall a very good stadium. The game we watched was interesting and the choice of food trucks and vendors was great as well.
K. A.
A great night out with the work lot led to me this review.
Key things I learnt here is that:
a) you don’t need to know anything about cricket
b) they have pint cups that you can stack up, so you can order like 10 beers at one time and carry them back to your seat. No dramas.
If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to be a waitress at Oktoberfest for about 10 minutes, give it a whirl. You’ll have bigger biceps and a newfound respect.
S. A. S.
Awesome place with a great environment with choice of food.
We really enjoyed the match and had a great time.
P. H.
Love the cricket hate the prices
V. D.
Attended the first match of the Hundred. It was a fun carnival like experience
R. A.
When i go there i feel now i am in back home country..here environment, supporters and also behaviour its really fantastic.
N. D.
The home of Surrey CCC.
Host of England test, ODI and IT20 matches.
It’s always a lot of fun. More gritty and casual than Lords. Plenty of bars. Water stations for refills. Easy to get to on the Northern and Victoria lines.
s. s.
I love it and happy for getting chance to visit this historic The KIA Oval cricket ground and India perform well when I visited
M. M.
An historic venue to watch cricket. The concourse gets ridiculously crowded during the lunch and tea breaks in play. Drink isn't overly expensive, was very disappointed in the "wood fired pizza" which was very poor quality and expensive too.
L. R. M. B.
A great place for events! Staff were kind and batistas were accommodating!
L. C.
Absolutely great cricket ground with great amenities. Full day of sunshine also helped with the experience
S. W.
Love the Oval. First day fun and 13 wickets. But the price of the beer!! Come on 😒
P. _.
Was there for a test match and it is a great experience. The catering options have vastly improved over the years
S. A.
Beautiful cricket ground, great atmosphere
g.
THE place for a Surrey Supporter to watch cricket. Lovely summer's afternoon. Unfortunately, Loughborough Lightning have just stuffed Surrey Stars, oh well, perhaps a beer?
v. o.
Went to view for Gala event next year, good facilities, clean toilets and available parking spaces and close to public transport.
M. M.
Excellent experience; very friendly staff and very good ground to see game of cricket
g.
Loved my two days working for Lambeth during the GLA Elections. Could never afford to see a match here as it's horribly expensive, so this is the nearest I got to witnessing one of oldest cricket grounds in the country. Some lovely views of South London too.
J. D.
Our first time. Very helpful guys at the gate. Everyone was friendly. A great day out for my son and I.
J. C.
An excellent day's cricket yesterday at The Oval. Also my 7 guests had a great day to
A. K.
Opened in 1845 oval stadium is one of oldest grounds in cricket operated by Surrey county it has see a lot of records broken and made
E. B.
Went on the ground tour and it was really interesting. Very knowledgable and friendly guide.
D. P.
Always a good atmosphere at the Oval. Watched many games here, including England winning the ashes .
K. L.
Poor communications during a rain interrupted day of cricket. We were having to go online to find out what was going on.. Rip off food and drink prices for a captive audience.
I. M.
Lovely ground, both traditional and modern.
N. B.
Great Cricket Ground - the one down side is the £1 deposits for cups (which is fine) but all places to get your money back close 20 mins before the end - senseless and a rip-off - I dont want to keep all my plasitc pint glasses
D. K.
One of my favourite places to be. The Oval is a very welcoming ground with great facilities
R. M.
Big stadium, good views and amenities. Good food and drink options.
C. M.
Great sports venue, easy access and great atmosphere.
M. S.
as a coach driver for away cricket team ... they were very accompanying and nothing was to much trouble
D. M.
Since the grounds have been redeveloped it has opened up a new world of entertainment and value for money. We could see the whole ground with good wine and good customer service from the staff.
K. H.
Not as intimate as Lords, mainly because of the metropolis of Nine Elms looming over the Finn Stand.
Great family atmosphere at the ground though.
C. S.
Great hospitality suites. I visited the Ashes Suite and was lucky to be right behind the bowlers arm. Good team and great service
P. D.
Enjoyed the cricket on the Saturday. Felt safe and spectators well spaced. However watching cricket at the moment is a very cold experience.
M. J.
Beautiful ground packed out for the hundred. Plenty of bars and good food on offer and I'd recommend the bar on the terrace.
J. S.
Great ground, great atmosphere
Very easy to get to from the oval tube station, literally across the road, food and drink was a bit pricey but you expect this in London at an England game
R. L.
It's a decent cricket ground with plans for extension. I was disappointed on this visit, the public address was hard to hear, signage on entry not good, stewards didn't stop people coming in during an over.
E. P.
My favourite place to watch cricket, full of many happy memories
D. L.
Crazy drinks prices but an enjoyable day the the cricket nonetheless.
M. H.
Bit chaotic getting in - scanners not working very well. Usual huge queues for food, drink and toilets, but great day today.
K. F.
Did the tour. Was great. Would absolutely recommend.
G. W. W.
Went to oval cricket ground a few days ago and it was truly a great experience and wonderful weather
F. M.
Well maintained stadium. Had lots of fun with my wife and friends.
A. H.
I was visiting on business. Everybody on site were friendly and very helpful. I'm not a cricket fan but I think a tour would be a must for any cricket fans as place full of history and great memorabilia on every wall.
N. A.
Went for a corporate event, great venue and facilities and good hospitality. And if you're a cricket fan, there are of course the views!
K. H.
Incredible experience, some of the stewards seem to be going through the motions rather than being on top of their game, but can't fault the atmosphere on game day
R. K.
Wonderful iconic grounds, great atmosphere. Would be good if they had a prayer area.
Z. B.
One of my favourite sporting stadia. Full of character and atmosphere. It would be even better if you didn't have to tell the bar staff to fill the pint 'glasses' up. Will formally complain if the staff try and serve short measures next time.
J. K.
Great place e to watch cricket well maintained well done Surrey cricket club
G. E.
More compact than I expected but oozing history. 4 stars only as the beer price was eyebrow lifting.
A. S.
Even better after the refurb, definitely worth the extra money for seats in the balconies
M. R.
Loved the cricket ground, loved the cricket, didn't really like the fans but oh well
P. M.
Came for a Hundred game. Easy to get to from Vauxhall train station. Prices are a bit expensive, but good atmosphere
A. H.
Such an amazing place to watch cricket, imagine watching matches in one of the oldest stadium with huge capacity of holding 24k+ in the heart of a global city London..😎😎 one should definitely watch cricket here if he/she is die hard fan for cricket, in 2019 some of the cwc19 matches are here and it will memorable experience for anyone who goes for the best cricket celebration in the world..
R. N.
Beautiful old pavilion and a lovely ground with excellent transport links, but more cramped and less rowdy (in a bad way) than Edgbaston 🏏
V. D.
The Oval, currently known for sponsorshipreasons as the Kia Oval, is an international cricket ground in Kennington, in the London Borough of Lambeth, South London. The Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845. It was the first ground in England to host international Test cricket in September 1880.The final Test match of the English season is traditionally played there.
S. B.
Great atmosphere for t20 shame Surrey, home side, lost. Well done Essex
A. G.
Beautiful cricket ground. Superb atmosphere at this year's Surrey v Kent T20 Blast match.
M. R.
Great views. Great atmosphere. Well organised and safety measures well applied.
T. W.
Great fun watching the hundred. The stands have had a make over. Queues for food were enormous (I gave up).
S. S.
Watched the rain interrupted Surrey vs Somerset match nice facilities and very nearby to tube station as well
g. d.
Really good venue for a meeting with clients. Helped it was a beautiful day..
S. C.
Small ground let's you get close to the boundary and the action. Good access to food and drinks
A. W.
Brilliant atmosphere and some fantastic cricket from both the mens and women's teams.
N. T. (.
Great ground, but I would advise anyone attending a match to arrange your own snacks and lunches as the prices are prohibitively expensive.
H. H.
Seats are tight and not ideal for people with disabilities. Overall experience and atmosphere is worth it.
A. P.
A very enjoyable day at the cricket. Draft Guinness was pretty good
b. s.
Excellent days cricket. As always silly prices for food and booze..
A. o. c. s.
Parking could be more available when visiting these grounds.
J. O.
Facilities lovely. Minimal queues and smooth experience. Shame about England's innings!
S. T.
Beautiful cricket grounds. Helpful staff would like to come back whenever India play again here.
P. M.
Amazing experience !!
S. K.
Brilliant place for cricket or even for corporate events!
V. B.
Great place to watch Cricket Match and good hospitality as well....
b.
Nice place to watch cricket but be aware the over priced food and drink you will need a card to buy as all bars and food stalls are card only now.
N. S.
Cricket is always excellent! The staff, crowd, food and ambiance just superb!
B. S.
It's a wonderful ground but £6.80 for a pint of ale?
H. P.
Watching cricket amazing experience very good ground close to transport links.
P. M.
Great experience of watching a match here!
P. K.
Awesome atmosphere 👌, highly priced food and drink which is expected I suppose. I would recommend pack a sandwich and drinks.
S. T.
Great sports ground with an interesting history. Plenty of food and drink outlets and has good standard of cleanliness.
N. S.
Good facilities and organisation. Love to watch cricket here
A. F.
Would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been so hard to find a cup of tea. One person went half way round before finding one
K. K.
I wonder if this review is dependant upon my team winning or losing
J. C.
Went on a tour and it was really enjoyable, tour guide was really knowledgeable. 10 out of 10 for me.
C. R.
Exciting hundred cricket but woeful communication to spectators from the Oval regarding delays - had to go to sky sports to find out what's happening!
J. T.
This is one of the best places in England to watch live cricket. The atmosphere is really good and the seats are so close to the crease that you are able to see the players. It is easy to get to also as it's a 5 minutes walk from the station. Their is a wide range of food options within the facilities although they are quite pricey.
A. M.
My favourite cricket stadium in Lambeth. Always a fabulous day out, even if you don't like cricket. Always such a phenomenal atmosphere, even if there's no one else there, and it's raining, and you're actually just standing outside waiting for a bus. Even then - still a great atmosphere.
It's not Lords, but it is a cricket stadium in London. If you like watching Surrey play cricket in their home ground, then you have to go to The Oval! It's sponsored by Kia, but you barely notice that when you're there. Plenty of toilets.
J. B.
Nice venue but shocking prices for drinks and food. Crazy you cant take your drinks in there.
C. F.
Lively atmosphere at 20/20 matches. For a traditional day of civilised cricket, go to a four day county game.
M. M. K.
One of my favourite sporting venues...always a pleasure to visit
P. B.
Lovely to be out and see some cricket. Did feel there was not much social distancing in stands.
S. D.
Good view of the match with seats being near to the boundary line. Enough public transport links nearby. Good toilet facilities.
R. R. H.
Great views, good food, good venue to watch cricket
R. K. B.
Fantabulous match against Eng with Ind . The ground is good and close to oval underground station.
P. M.
Great cricket venue.
P. L.
What a fantastic stadium, excellent views all around and the facilities are perfect for a large crowd.
M. F.
One of the best cricket stadium in London
S.
Highly recommended for watching cricket. It is brilliant for 20/20 games after work. Also highly recommended for conferences and events. I have attended a large conference and a smaller team event here and they have been excellent. Always well looked after and great catering.
G. K.
What a great Day watching both mens and womens cricket at the Hundred, roll on next year.
D. R.
The Oval, currently referred to for sponsorship purposes as the Kia Oval, is an international cricket ground in Kennington, in the London Borough of Lambeth, in south London. The Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845.
C. W.
A wonderful experience and if you love cricket this is a place to be.
S. B.
Great place to hold a recruitment corporate event. Very friendly staff
J. P.
Quality venue. Decent for corporate events too
P. D.
Review? What review? Just enjoy the match. Very nice ground and if competitive opponents are playing then just watch the match and enjoy the good beer with available food.
Staff at the ground is very helpful.
Also very good crowd management.
Enjoy the cricket 🏏
G. M.
D. H.
Our local ground. It's great fun watching cricket here.
S. O.
World one of best cricket ground . Kia Oval
k. v.
The best place, the best chefs, the most wonderful people, the greatest pleasure is to work with them.the best place, the best chefs, the most wonderful people, the greatest pleasure is to work with them.
B. V.
Excellent ground to watch cricket good view wherever you sit.
G. Z.
Perfect place for cricket and cricket lovers. Big ground, decent capacity, nice pavilion. Nice view from any stand. But some stands have restricted vision. Better use public transport to go there as parking is not that easy in that area. Foods and drinks stalls are quite good inside the stadium. Drinking water taps are available inside, only take your own bottles. Nice pitches, nice views. Great place to enjoy cricket.
I. B.
Very good seats, great view.
Prices on drinks and food extortionate .
L.
Good food(I was there for a conference not a match),lovely views of the grounds where many people were working hard to make the grass perfect! I did think there should have been a vegan option (they said you have to order ahead), but good location, nice surroundings, would recomend holding a conference there.
K. H.
Incompetent! The massive queues to get get in the ground were unacceptable. I queued for nearly 1 hour getting to my seat at 12.15 missing the first hours play
T. G.
Good place to watch the t20 cricket after work. Surprisingly good selection of beers at the bars, the queues move pretty quickly and you can easily carry 3 pints in one hand with the reusable plastic pints with handles that they use! Decent choice of food options too, I went for the pizza which was tasty!
M. B.
A great place to watch cricket with good food if a little pricey
M. B.
Great venue. On site food and drink typically over-priced.
W. U.
Better than Lord's ground. Structure of the stadium is planned so its easy to find seats. Their food quality is excellent. A lot of shops so queue wasn't bad. Toilets are also very near. The whole stadium is very clean. The nearest train station is very near.
H. G.
Went to Vitality Blast T20 fixture. Mightily impressed with setup. Great atmosphere as venue was full. Press area fits in with ambience of this famous cricket ground better than Lors IMHO. Highly recommend a visit.
R. K.
Excellent day on the first day of the Ashes Test. The disabled parking was brilliant for the friend I took to the match and the stewards could not have been more helpful to him. The view of the pitch was brilliant and like the Ageas Bowl, Hampshire you are able to see all the boundaries without restrictions (unlike Lords). A great venue for cricket.
B. C.
Great stadium 🏟 absolutely amazing.
S. L.
It's always a great experience at the Oval, great ground, helpful staff, friendly crowd.
E. D.
It has a nice chill atmosphere and the service was good
G. E.
A magnificent cricket stadium. Worked here
M. R.
Absolutely loved our day. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back. 👍

I have been to Lords many times in the past but it was the first time that I went to the Oval. It was for the Bangladesh vs SA CWC 2019 match. Below is my 4P review
Place (5 on 5):
Very conveniently and centrally located. Was super easy to reach.
The stands feel more near to the playing field and that enriches the experience. It is a smaller ground and that makes the feel much better. You might get a few opportunities to catch a few 6s if you happen to be at the right place
People (5 on 5)
Security was thorough and entrance into the stands was a cakewalk. It was quite disciplined. Ample number of staff.
Price (5 on 5)
You cant complain on the price and variety of food. I was surprised to see a stand of Indian food. Ticket prices would not be applicable here.
Product (5 on 5)
Stadium is very well kept and offers a seamless experience. There is enough variety of food and shops to buy goodies. Was fortunate enough to visit a cracking match and that added to my experience.
Hope this helps.

Brilliant cricket ground. Close to underground stations, lots of food options and you'll be very close to action.

Easy place to get to by public transport.
Fabulous place to watch cricket. Very friendly staff and stewards.

the ground was fabulous great food and drink and covid provisions were made

A brilliant venue - really good seating/stands so that you're close to the pitch regardless of where you're sitting. That being said, the lower tier stands are much closer than the pavilion or the upper levels. There are tons of options for food and drinks in the grounds, although the queues are massive and the cost is quite high, but you can take your own food and drink in (although no booze or glass bottles). Tickets aren't generally that expensive, and it's a great family day.

Great place to watch cricket. Good views from all the seats I've been in. Please note if you're planning a trip it is very expensive to buy food inside, £10+ for a small burger & fries meal.
I believe you can bring external food in, with the exception of alcohol and some cans. This varies from match to match however.

Lots of loos, bars & food outlets, nice calm stewarding.

A great place to go and watch cricket. It is very easy to get to as well. Atmosphere is electric.

I guess that if you like cricket than this is a must. Hospitality was great in the box, nothing much to complain about (except great variety of dairy free products, but that's almost everywhere). Location also good to reach from major stations in London.

It's a great cricket ground, no question about it. I love it and prefer it to Lords. But why treat your customers so badly with mediocre expensive beer and even more expensive food that is overcooked and poor poor value for money. Granted this may be the same at all cricket grounds and maybe all sports stadia, bit this is a blatant example of greed and profiteering At the expense of customer experience. Shame. Great game though ,!

Very cool, great layed back venue, hard to get to the toilets at times
M. G.
Really enjoyed #thehundred

What I great venue. Even if you aren't an avid cricket fan, if you are prepared to splash some cash you can enjoy amazing catering and a luxury day out. Steeped in history and quite special.

Amazing place and great field and what a great match come on india

Always loved the oval and it is a great place to watch cricket. However it now seems to be card only and extremely pricey for a beer. Why they don't warn you about it being card only I'm not sure but I certainly couldn't see it on my ticket

It was so much fun to watch a cricket match live, this iconic venue is really cool and you can feel the excitement, I would recommend to go with someone that understands the game if you don't (I didn't, and still don't to be honest) but it was very good fun to understand it then while watching. Also very fun is the excitement of catching a ball... I didn't but saw people doing it, and in style!

Nice ground and great day out watching cricket.

Great cricket ground.

Excellent days cricket, good view from the Bedser stand

Great atmosphere and a favourite for many to watch cricket.

Great cricket game England vs Australia. However take a picnic, food is expensive and not great, plus it gets very crowded. Soft drinks in a plastic bottle and you're favorite sandwich, will save a lot of time money and pushing.

I was here for a work meeting rather than a cricket game. The room for our meeting was really nice and led right to outdoor space so we were able to enjoy the sunshine. The food was okay but did not meet everyone’s dietary requirements. On previous occasions we were given a tour of the cricket grounds and our guide was very knowledgeable.

Amazing ground , amazing atmosphere. Simply love it :)

My number 1 favourite cricket ground. I love The Oval. Each year I have a Mum and Son day (with my son!) and each year we have a great day out. Well organised, friendly staff when entering the ground, great views of the pitch and always great cricket. The ladies loos are spotlessly clean, and excellent coffee!!
N. S.
Loved the cricket watching experience at the Oval! Great view of the ground. Clean facilities, a lot of food and drink options are available. During lunch break they also had a live band playing, who made everyone around them dance to the times which was really fun. Reaching there is also easy via Oval tube station or Vauxhall rail station. Beware of black marketeers selling tickets outside; we saw 3 guys nabbed by the police close to the main gate.

Brilliant game of cricket. First mens match of the Hundred. Surrey Invincibles are invincible
J. m.
The only way I can describe it I'd like watching cricket in the best pub garden ever
M. K.
Prestigious, costly refurb £££. It was a tranquiled day out. 🤗
The receptionist, Jaz/Caz and the Bar staff on the ground floor are very pleasant. ☺️
D. M.
Extremely overpriced for drinks, limit what you can bring in or for 'cat A' games nothing can be brought in.
Understand need to make money but £6.80 a pint in a plastic glass ???
T. A.
Not a bad stadium tbh. The staff are lovely and when you book a space here for guests, the catering here is very tasty. I'm not sure about how much it is, but for the view and sometimes access to balconies, plus the food and the decent facilities - I'm sure it's not too expensive. There only issue is that parking is a little off here so try not to come with a car. Other than that, grand. I would recommend coming here for a game
D. K.
Had a wonderful day at the Oval Cricket Grounds. Thanks to the staff who were so polite and helpful. Thank you to Kelly Anderson who booked our car parking for my husband is disabled and cannot walk long distances. Will definitely visit again.
W. E.
Great ground and atmosphere drink and food was a little pricey
M. M.
What a great day’s cricket watching England v India.
L. W.
Well organised as usual. Shame the cricket( for us) wasn't so great.
H. J.
My first time was fantastic, the toilets were constantly being tended to, which was important due to the rainfall causing slippery surfaces. The queues for drinks and food were unreal, but I partly expected it to be so. The prices are as you would expect, over the limit of what I would call value for money. The actual grounds themselves are great, I could see everything from where I was sitting, and i dont think there are many places you can sit where the experience would be hindered in anyway.
S. B.
Great venue to watch cricket. Good options for food and drink for a cricket match
R. R.
One of the great cricket venues in the world, and one if the few to hold 100 test matches. Has a lovely old traditional pavilion. Great atmosphere in the evenings for T20 games, and being cricket, there are none of the issues you get with football. And you can have a beer whilst watching the game.
D. S.
One of my favourite kebab place. Very tasty, bread is amazing! Never disappointed ordering the original German doner kebab.

Historical place for cricket.. Great ground to watch cricket on...
H. M.
Beautiful ground. Lovely facilities and excellent hospitality facilities.

I like the view and the atmosphere around this pitch. Even so I'm not a fan of cricket but I have enjoyed the experience.
P. J.
Never been before and not a fan of cricket, but it was a real treat to tread on the beautiful grass and walk the path of many hero's!! It was also wonderful to see the delighted faces on the many children taking part in the Disability Day, run by the SCC. Well done to everyone involved.
D. F.
Great venue to watch cricket. Large selection of places to buy food and drinks, although quite expensive as is to be expected. Many seats have no cover so need to get lucky with the weather! Hospitality area also very nice with friendly and attentive staff.
N. B.
Lovely atmosphere. Well maintained facilities and good selection of food/refreshments

Great atmosphere and great ground, always enjoy coming here
G. S.
Been going to the Oval for over 20 years, there's not a bad seat in the ground however they've just become cashless which means if you don't have a chip and pin you may well go hungry and thirsty. County games you can take in your own picnics but watch out on the T20s you can only bring in food and soft drink.
D. V.
Haven't been there but seems to be nice place
a. h.
Awful queues to get in, but aside from that a great place to watch cricket.
V. P.
Good cricket games to be seen. However the stadium undercroft / corridor space is very limited. So it's not possible to move around during game breaks. There also aren't enough toilets, so you have to go during active play, which may mean you miss important parts of the game.
O. C.
Good location. I enjoyed the view and accessibility
A. A.
I attended the Oval with friends who are keen fans and Cricket Club members and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. It helped that the weather was great and it was a one day match held on Friday afternoon. Location is short distance from tube station, while the venue is historic, with portraits of famous members plus pubs and dining.

An amazing cricket ground, and the home of Surrey Cricket. I visited here for a tour and was highly impressed. Looking forward to the summer to watch a few games at this wonderful ground.
Edit: Watched many games here. Fantastic experiences. Great staff, great crowd, and a great place to hang out and watch some cricket.
K. H.
First visit and first 100 cricket. Excellent game and excellent facilities....
p. s.
Full house but well managed so no long wait for beer or food
S. B.
Cricket at its most accessible in the heart of London. Every seat has good views and its easy to navigate your way around the stadium. Could be more food and drink outlets as during matches the queues can be long. Also some healthier food options would be welcome. Don't want only fried food.
C. G.
Great ground with good atmosphere and friendly staff. Check for alcohol import restrictions in main match days.
