S. H.I love it at Papplewick CC. It is a beautiful ground, in the middle of nowhere. It is peaceful but everyone who plays and socialises there is friendly and helpful. My son has joined the junior teams and loves it.

j. t.On the very perimeter of Newstead Abbey Park - indeed if cycling or on foot it is a way in without paying for entrance (maybe not larger mountain bikes though, the gateway is very narrow).
The cricket ground is nice and sheltered, all levels are played. On a good day it is a joy to take a seat, flask of tea and a newspaper. There is a bar open on match days, not sure if non members can purchase though, I haven't tried.
