Always a great friendly place to pay pool. Was there for the seniors weekend and even had a free barbecue. Excellent bar staff and Ron the ower worked hard to make it a top weekend which everyone would agree it was a success

Small range of drinks but they are looked after well and a good pint can be had by all. Excellent facilities for pool, snooker, darts and skittles. Very friendly staff and the choices of songs on the jukebox by the locals was excellent. Really took me back. Would definitely go back again.

I visited here to use a function room. For a child's birthday party. Found this to be a dark, dingy place. The establishment stank of stale alcohol, my feet were sticking to the floor and the room upstairs was exceptionally hot. There always seem to be a group of smokers outside and often roudy patrons. However from what I saw of the tables they were well looked after and the establishment itself was in good state. Warning to others, there is a very steep staircase up to the front door and is therefore not wheelchair or disability friendly.

Not only a Great Cue sport venue but the rear garden with its unique architecture,rare flowers and vast greenery is a wonderful place to relax and take in the views across fields,woods and hills. A must visit when in D H Lawrence territory.

I went to phoenix one Friday and one of the staff gave use two free half pints of orange juice each. Also I bought this really good clean brick cue with 2 lots of chalk and a case for £40
