Reviews of Thames LIDO

We ordered a good selection of tapas dishes, all delicious and enjoyed in a very relaxed setting quite unique to Reading. We had a really lovely meal and our waiter was great although overall service was a little slow. One star was lost on the ice cream, my salted caramel tasted nice but had a lot of large ice crystals throughout.

Lovely facilities, staff are professional and friendly. Would recommend getting a treatment and the bundle packages are great value for money. Some bits weren't open when we went but we still had a lovely time and enjoyed every bit!
C. T.
Absolutely loved our day here. We did the spa package including massage, tapas lunch and use of the pool. The venue is beautiful, and the facilities great. It felt like a little relaxing haven and we were both so impressed. Can’t wait to come back!

Venue is unique and it may sound strange to say but 'Authentic'. Food was fantastic and priced well based on the quality and depth of flavour that oozed out from what arrived at our table. Staff were all amazingly friendly (Special call out to Izzy)....
Highly recommend especially if you want something removed from the usual high street chains in the town center...

Went for a swim and lunch, lovely staff, amazing Spanish inspired food and the gelato was the best!
Tad on the pricey side for food if you just come for lunch or dinner but the quality was exceptional.
I recommend the package as it comes with 2 course meal that includes everything on the a la carte menu so totally worth it!

We visited again last night... had a couples massage. Sacha & Andrea were amazing & probably the best massage my partner & I have ever had. Tapas was very tasty. Pool was the perfect temp... can't wait to visit again!!

The Lido is a proper treat! The dinner and swim package is great value. My friend and I had a lovely swim and hot tub session followed by a delicious dinner with a bit of wine and some amazing bread. It's not cheap but we were there for over 4 hours and the quality of what you're getting makes it great value for money. I thoroughly recommend this place to everyone

I spent a wonderful morning at the Lido today with friends as a Birthday treat. What a great find. The building is beautifully restored and the decor is quirky and yet tasteful and stylish without being at all pretentious. The staff are very attentive and friendly, the menu was adventurous and the food delicious. Numbers are limited in the pool and sauna area so you don’t feel crowded. Once you’ve showered in your own private cubicle there’s a spacious room with huge mirrors and windows where you can dry your costume and hair, do your make-up and get ready for coffee, lunch or dinner. The whole experience was great and I’ll certainly be coming back with family and friends.

Clearly a lot of investment has gone into this well finished and high quality venue. Tucked away in central reading, this venue has first class spa facilities combines with an excellent restaurant.

Lovely pool and spa. Excellent food and drinks with great service. Fantastic staff working there.

Hello all, 😉👋❤️
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From our family!
1st time and we want go back again.
It's was very good experience.👍💯
Highly recommended this for everyone!!!
Swimming pool and jacuzzi + sauna really good, then 1 h massage with professional staff, and romantic dinner with great menu was really tasty and healthy!!!! it was an unforgettable evening!!!💝💝💝

Had a great lunch with friends. Excellent service and lovely atmosphere. The tapas we tried were delicious and the sourdough bread was excellent! We were tempted to ask if we could buy a couple of the loaves we saw on the display table 😂

I had bought the spa-massage-meal package for a Christmas gift because I thought it was a sweet deal. I had no expectation for the price (95£).
The reception doesn't look like much, but once you got changed in the individual cabins (it's nice to have full privacy!), you walk around the pool surrounded by nicely preserved architecture. The 2 saunas have a view over the pool. There is also a large jacuzzi and a cold water bucket. The rest area's furniture is a bit cheap looking with the folding chairs, but it's ok to save somewhere.
After 2 hours of enjoying the spa (which wasn't too busy), we went upstairs for our 1 hour massage. The massage rooms are absolutely lovely, equipped with a shower and a window over the pool. You can hear the sound of the water as you receive your treatment. The upstairs lounge is a lot nicer than downstairs, again with a view and comfy chairs.
Then we had our meal. We both ordered the burrata and ox cheeks. All really tasty. I was a bit disappointed that the dessert list didn't have any chocolate option. I had a cocktail to compensate, which was delicious.
Overall I paid an extra 34£ for 3 cocktails and a dessert on top of the package deal, but it was all definitely worth it since we had a perfect day and the most relaxing experience. Would visit again!
R. M.
The meal and swim package is really good value. The pool/hot tub/sauna area is great, just be aware the hot tub isn't huge and is popular so does get crowded. The water temperature in the main pool was swimmable in February, just not super warm. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is really really good! And the restaurant staff are very attentive. Just avoid the coffee (awful!)
J.
Took my mother here for Mother's Day and we both loved the experience. The swim was refreshing and the hot pool was relaxing afterwards. We followed up with lunch in the restaurant, which was delicious and the majority of the staff were welcoming and friendly.
J. C.
A beautiful restoration job of an historic lido, complete with a fantastic bar/restaurant. We attended a wedding here- very attentive staff, great atmospheric venue and a very nice (if pricey!) Espresso martini. I'll certainly be coming to the lido again.
J. S.
Generally lovely ,With lovely food but I’m afraid £20 for a swim is ridiculously priced! Not to mention the staff, who seemed perfectly sweer but had no real idea about any information to do with the Lido itself or pricing for packages etc-when popping in to buy a gift voucher as a present they seemed reluctant to take time to find the information to tell me what I could purchase. They suggested I went back home and went online🤷🏻♀️
N. R.
I had a back, neck, shoulder and facial massage today and it was divine! I was late to my appointment but was made to feel at ease. Sophie was AMAZING (highly recommend) and she managed to do the full treatment in the remaining short amount of time. It didn’t feel compromised at all. I’ll definitely be back soon, such a beautiful place right on my doorstep.

It's a lovely place to visit. Pool water is pleasantly warm and saunas are hot, food is great too. Lovely and friendly staff at the reception as well as the bar. I'll be coming back👍
K. W.
Went here for breakfast. Turkish poached eggs were delish as was the bloody mary I ordered to go with it. My friend also had the eggs and washed it down with a breakfast Martini. Service was 5* and it was very relaxing to watch the swimmers glide by. All-in-all a lovely experience and I shall return.
l.
Had a great evening at the restaurant, food and service was really good, will definitely be coming back again.
A. D.
It's ok. Portion sizes are really small with their current only Tapas menu in place. It hardly fills you up.
Dessert are so so, we ordered mousse and cheese cake
C. K.
The most beautiful restoration has created this wonderful oasis in Reading. 25m pool, hot tub, sauna. Amazing restaurant to top it all off.
m.
Not ONCE have I an anything less than perfect experience at the lido. My monthly "me time" non members swim and lunch does wonders for mental health and escaping the rat race. Just once I had a tiny issue with a tapas dish and they made up a whole new batch, no quibbling. It's the little things in life and thames lido is one of em!
N. C.
Lovely experience with my family. Good food, lovely location, attentive and friendly staff. A fabulous setting for Tapas or A La Carte food choices. Hard to fault especially when the sun is out!
I. G.
Wonderful experience - really great facilities - felt like entering an oasis of calm. The food and cocktails were delicious too.
R. H.
Went for a Breakfast and Swim session. Amazing place in the heart of Reading that has been sympathetically restored by the Bristol Lido crew. I had the Turkish Poached Eggs which were standout and my lovely wife went for Smoked Salmon which she liked. Hot tub was nice and the pool a decent temperature. Hosted very well by the front of house team.
One little niggle was they seemed to forget our breakfast and we needed to chase it which was a bit odd considering we were literally the only ones in the restaurant. However they apologised and they did not charge us for the extra drinks we had during the day. Great customer service and empathy.
One minor criticism of the venue is its a bit small and there are limited areas for sunbathing and chilling outside. This is a limitation of the legacy venue so they cannot do much about it but in all honesty I think I would prefer a morning at Nirvana Spa...
T. R.
Great interior and food/service was top notch! Went to celebrate a birthday and the staff were great. We had the lamb and the chicken with a pavlova for dessert. Highly recommend this, the swimming pool looks great too! Hope to come back!
R. P.
Thames Lido is a great venue with a difference. We went on the special Swim and Dine package. The pool is heated so that it’s not freezing to get in but refreshing. You can pop into the hot tub and for a real warm up one of two saunas - one hotter than the other.
The dinner a la carte was fancy. Well presented. The scallops were awesome.. fresh in the shell! Main course was the sirloin slices. However, was disappointed the chef left a large piece of gristle/sinew on the sirloin (see photograph).
The staff are friendly and attentive as geared to ensure guests enjoy a great experience.
This venue is not cheap, it’s a premium experience. And it was not overcrowded as a result. The Lido has its own parking for extra convenience.
Would I come again? Definitely to celebrate a special occasion.
A. P.
A completely excellent meal, from start to finish. Fantastic atmosphere (it does not feel like Reading when you're inside), brilliant service, and the food was fresh, vibrant, and very, very tasty. Can't wait to try more of the menu. Highly recommended.
J. K.
Stunning environment that has kept original features and has hi tech showers and changing facilities. Professional and effective massages and relaxing spa accommodation. The restaurant boats a high class menu plus a reasonably priced lunch menu. There's a wet and dry sauna and an ice bucket. My husband loves it! I tried it just the once. The pool is superb, as is the hot tub. Our grandchildren found it all a complete delight and are pestering us to return!! We also can't wait to be there again.
F. W.
Very inconspicuous from the outside, the restaurant doesn’t attract you with big signs or ads. Once you enter the building, though, you’ll be impressed by a great atmosphere, with tables surrounding and overlooking the inner yard with the pool.
The service is very friendly and mostly quick with your orders, and the menu changes regularly enough that coming back to try more seems like a good idea. The food itself, though very well made and put together, failed to wow me - that may be personal preference, and your mileage may vary. What did catch my attention, however, was their home made ice cream selection. Brilliant flavours, amazing mixes and well worth a visit on its own.
If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on the ice cream, and relax with a nice cider or beer.
M. B.
Great place, such a gem of the local area. We took advantage of the swim and dine package. Water was a degree or two cooler than I'd have liked but it was a breezy day. Hot tub was delightful. The food was really good. Great atmosphere, so lovely to dine beside the pool with it's gentle glow. The service while really friendly can be a little inconsistent, but still an absolute recommend from me.

A fantastic re-imagining of one of Britain's oldest outdoor swimming pools, which was under threat of demolition by the council only fifteen years ago. Many people (myself included) campaigned for it to be saved from the chop and in the end it was. Spot listed as a grade-II building of cultural significance, there followed three years of painstaking restoration & sympathetic upgrades, it is now working again as with a "scandi style" boutique outdoor pool. I bought my partner a voucher at Christmas, and when the weather perked up we tried it out. With a glass walled restaurant and spa treatment rooms, the customer service at this upmarket lido is second to none, and the atmosphere and facilities worth every penny. Great food in a Spanish and North African vein, rated as excellent by my Spanish partner, and really friendly staff in the bar and pool. Massage and treatment rooms are located upstairs, very clean and relaxing, and good value if you buy a treatment with a package. Located in the very centre of Reading and right by the station, Thames Lido has free parking for those who are booking for a spa day and is easily accessible on foot or by bike. I'll be going there for a quiet coffee on a work day if I get the chance, too! Highly recommended.

Venue is great. But the food!!!
Went for a spa and lunch session. From the outside it looks pretty unassuming, but inside they’ve done an incredible job of turning it into a spa. Pool is warm(ish), but it’s not huge. Outdoor Jacuzzi is lovely. Had a massage which was amazing as always.
But the food, the food was incredible. I enjoyed so much that I forgot to take pics! Some of the best I have ever had! Beautiful Burrata starter with walnut and a rich date dressing. Then a perfectly cooked sea bream. Seriously, it’s worth just coming for the food alone.

An old favourite. I’ve been a swim member since opening in 2017, going 4 times a week, until 2020. I used to dine often in the restaurant for brunch, tapas, dinner & drinks - most meals. I had many work banquets here too with the tasting menu & copious amounts of Spanish wine. The gin menu is extensive. The slow restaurant service was frustrating at times, but had improved in recent years. The food is delicious, especially the scallops, tapas and home made ice creams. Mains are on the pricier side, but v good quality food. BYO wine Tuesday’s used to be a good value saving. Only bar snacks served between meal times- perhaps catering for day spa packages too much? The swim side were very supportive when I had to suspend my membership for medical reasons, and I haven’t got back into the swing of it due to lack of lounge space post-swim, so sadly I’ve gone to a local competitor instead but I might return soon once restrictions ease up. Massage was ok, but perhaps not as luxurious as others. A must visit from London or for visitors in town. Impressive setting! A fantastic historical restored Victorian lido with a delicious restaurant and swim spa with a Nordic feel. As a keen fast swimmer, busy periods sometimes clashed with leisure swims but on the whole the non-lane system works well. Great Covid safety and booking system, but 40 minute slots were a bit rushed for me - v little wash hair time after a 30 min swim & only a few mins in the outdoor hot tub. A thriving community & open restaurant. I’ll be back after a break! A must visit.
A. B.
I enjoyed the visit here, we booked on a swim and eat package for a bit of respite over Christmas. Starting with the swim, it was ok. We were told the main pool was heated to twenty something degrees, and the hot tub was warmer. We visited on a cold day, and I genuinely do not think the main pool was up to temperature. Many people were bracing themselves before getting in, and if you weren't full on swimming to keep warm, it was too cold. The hot tub however was nice, and the sauna was good too. I felt another pool, or hot tub or something is required, for the general price, it just feels something is missing and a bit too basic.
The most frustrating thing they have are the showers. Both me and my partner struggled to get them to work with really daft pull rings. Sometimes it would stay on, others you had to hold it the entire time, then I couldn't turn mine off. I've showered all over the world, in poverty stricken countries and entirely different cultures and I've never had such an issue with a shower, they should really fix this.
Now the restaurant.
The food was very tasty, I had chicken supreme, but the cauliflower was served virtually raw, so was rock solid which isn't to my taste, I've eaten at similarly priced restaurants and had better food, but worse food also, so I wouldn't say it was bad. The main positive of the place is the staff. They all work very hard, and are very attentive and professional and make it a pleasant experience and a welcoming atmosphere. That being said, if nothing were to change, I probably wouldn't return here for a relaxing break, I'd just head for a spa or something instead.
D. d. V.
Lovely pool but 26oC is still pretty cool if the sun is not out or you are swimming slowly. Showers slightly silly as you need one hand to pull down all the time to get it to work
V. C.
Wowee!!! Everything at this beautiful Lido is perfect! The cleanest facilities I've ever come across ( I've now visited 40 UK Lidos!). Strict personal hygiene rules, luxurious toiletries, lovely cool pool water, UV filtration makes the experience superior to any other Lido! Gorgeous architecture, respectfully modernised / restored, fab food, tapas, wine and spa - all Very competitively priced. Very accommodating, passionate staff and owners. How lucky are the residents of Reading!!? LOVE IT!!
J. H.
Amazing. Lovely swim/sauna and lunch package. The quality and cleanliness of the spa is very high and the individual shower rooms with shower gel etc are lovely. Original architecture has been preserved and is really gorgeous. The star of the show was definitely the food. It was probably the best meal I have had in several years. The staff were attentive and polite and overall experience was just perfect. Well done Reading Lido team.
A. M.
Very cool setting for some tapas and a drink. Makes you feel like you're on holiday somewhere in the Med.
M. B.
My first visit and not my last great staff amazing pool and surrounding facilities and the food was delicious what is there not to like ?!!
M. H.
Amazing place to have in Reading. Great pool, awesome experience in the evening. Food is excellent and staff couldn’t be more friendly. Completely makes up for the poor swimming facilities elsewhere - wouldn’t be without it

Amazing restoration of the Thanes Lido - opened to the public in 1902 as the Ladies Swimming Bath and is believed to be the oldest surviving outdoor municipal pool of the early Edwardian era. Reopened in October 2017 after a 3 year restoration
Went for a breakfast coffee and cake you overlook the outdoor pool. Look forward to swimming and the lunch or dinner menus as they look so appetizing
A. C.
Great day - we were a group of 6 celebrating a birthday. We had breakfast followed by a swim then massages and tapas.
All of it was just amazing. Really lovely venue. One of the best massages I have ever had!
The food and cocktails were really great also.
Hollie was really helpful with getting everything booked
S. D.
Pool was 25.8C when I was there - felt cold on entry but within a length was fine. Hot tub very warm. Towels (or robes) have to be hired so consider taking your own.
T. N. (.
Lovely heated Lido with sauna and outdoor hot pool.
Ate in the restaurant after choosing from the Mediterranean Tapas menu - all lovely.
A. R.
With music playing at low volume, it has been a while since I've been in an eatery where one can have a conversation without having to shout.
On top of that, the staff was friendly and the food (going for a taster pack) was surprisingly very good in taste as well as presentation, definitely an experience well worth it (mind you, a fairly high cost but worth it).
Overall, definitely a good choice for an occasion.
s. w.
Amazing, I got the spa, massage and lunch. Looks a little pricey but well worth it. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the utilities are great. A little saw after the massage but couple days late felt reguvinated. Definitely would recommend to anyone it doesn't have to be even for a special occasion . One thing to take in yo account now is that the park is monitored and is a pay and display service.
G. H.
Lovely lido with excellent facilities and staff. The sauna, hot tub and pool are such a great experience it makes me already tempted to become a member!
D. C.
Went for the Swim, Massage, Dinner package. Great deal, enjoyable and relaxing experience and amazing food. Downside is that you do have to book a decent while in advance for this triple package.
M. A.
The Ox cheeck was delicious, really rich and filling. The "optional" service charge is a bit ridiculous and steep. Great setting though
G. H.
Lovely food, attentive and friendly staff in a spectacularly well renovated building/pool. Great too see in Reading. Thoroughly recommend!
J. C.
Lovely hidden gem in a Kings meadows, heated pool, two saunas, hot tub, very fresh wooden design. It's very nice to swim and to see the sky above
P. R. M.
Wonderful food, great wines, service and an amazing atmosphere with a view of the swimming pool lit and swimmers enjoying the warm water at night.
A. C.
Fantastic experience. This is a lovingly restored listed Edwardian open air lido with period detail, skilfully updated.
The pool is surrounded by a building so no winds, just a lovely open view of the sky and trees.
Its a heated pool at a comfortable temperature for swimming, a large hot tub and two spacious saunas with windows overlooking the pool. A relaxation area to finish off.
The high ceilinged restaurant and bar area looks over the pool through floor to ceiling windows, open in summer.
I enjoyed the food on two occasions, Mediterranean style cooked in a wood fired oven, visible from the pool.
I became a member, tempted by the open air swimming all year round. You can visit for the day, there's massage, swim and eat packages. Open for Breakfast Brunch Lunch Dinner . Open to non members- you can even just come in for a coffee.
Caversham Lock, Kings Meadow and View Island nature reserve are all adjacent so you could spend a whole day in the area if you are visiting.
w. d.
Really lovely place to go for a coffee, some great food, a swim or massage. Really good to see an old building put to good use again. Some lovely features have been preserved, while everything is spotlessly clean. Friendly, helpful staff, always feels relaxed.
D. C.
If you want to try something different and new, Thames Lido is a great place to go. Absolutely delicious food in a unique setting. Great service too. It isn't cheap but in terms of quality it is good value for money, highly recommended.
E. C.
A little piece of heaven in Reading! Lovely staff, amazing food and gorgeous pool. Highly recommend
E. W.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing massage, swim under the stars or amazing menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner Thames Lido is the place to come. Looking forward to being able to come back for all three when covid regulations allow.
P. G.
Absolutely gorgeous place. Drinks, Tapas and a la carte menu in the most stunning surroundings. The blue-tiled pool is open air and you can sit outside to eat/drink right by the water. The Tapas are fantastic, the wine list is brilliant, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The mini day spa package is fantastic value - swim, hot tub, sauna and 30min massage followed by 3 (generous) Tapas (per person) for £60. Don't miss this gem.
K.
First time here having a mini spa break and had the most lovely experience. Great swim & jacuzzi, followed by an outstanding massage to the most relaxing music (thank you Andrea!) and finished off with a really delicious lunch. We were really pleasantly surprised by the food - cooked with a lot of love by someone with exquisite taste, all the dishes were just perfect. Looking to book another break shortly!
N. W.
Lovely swim followed by a terrific meal. We enjoyed the scallops to start followed by a tasty 28 day aged steak and lovely Brixham fresh fish all cooked perfectly and served with bubbles. We were looked after by Joe who was knowledgable about the menu and very attentive , as were passing Staff who also shared an interest we had 3 offers of bread to soak up the garlic and dill butter from the scallops ! Great night, great food all in great surroundings. What is there not to love about this place!
A. S.
Wonderful day at the Lido. Staff were extremely friendly and the pool and facilities are lovely

Had a loved meal here - food was delicious and it has a really nice relaxed atmosphere. The swimming facilities are also great.

Parking system is a bit aggressive but the actual place, food and people are fantastic. Did not do in for a swim but it looked very popular.
J. M.
Great food, great atmosphere, I would highly recommend this to anyone. Its reasonably priced food and drinks for the area
K. K.
I bloody love this place! I’ve been here on several occasions now and experienced the restaurant, pool and spa facilities. The spa and pool are great but the restaurant is something else, hands down my favourite restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious, the staff are so friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely and relaxing, plus when you’re sitting outside and the sun is shining it feels like you’re on holiday, just lush.

Great lido. The renovation complimented the Victorian design perfectly and the facilities are amazing. I would love to return.

Very pleasant place, very friendly staff, amazing pool and facilities, good tapas food.
Great massage, the therapist was amazing.

Great facilities and good apart from the food. Bad service, very cold draughty table and cold food to match, very chewy tough meat. Stick to the pool and massage.

I went there for a dinner with friends. Food was really good. It's a perfect place for dates.

Only popped in for a coffee but it is lovely there. Staff friendly, great coffee and wonderful surroundings.

Supper date. Small menu, but lots of interesting ingredients to create tasty dishes. Lovely fresh bread and oil to start with.

Very nice experience with the Lido and dine package for my friend’s birthday. We did 35 minutes swimming and hot tub (very hot water in the tub was amazing during watching the sky at night), and then 2 courses menu with very fine food. I highly recommend +++

Gorgeous spot for an evening meal.Lovely food and the pool looks amazing lit up.

Love this place! Been a member for a few years now! Place of tranquility amongst the busyness of life!
T. S.
Thames Lido needs to regulate the number of people in the pool. Members are often pushed out of the pool in favor of those with spa packages making it extremely difficult to swim and enjoy the facilities.
A. W.
Love the Reading Lido for an early morning breakfasts and a calm start to the day...
S. L.
Food only. Spacious table settings, gorgeous decor with a nod to traditional yet modern twist. All menus are delicious, creative and interesting. I always end up trying something new every time I go. Staff are wonderful and add to the experience. Highly recommend.

Good place, friendly staff n great service! It was my first visit but hopefully will visit soon for spa day with meal with my girlfriend's 😊

Always a pleasure, superb (in fact second to none) environment as well as service to match. The Hake with Squid Ink was simply stunning.

Pleasant place to come for an outside swim/ hot tubs etc. Had the breakfast package and felt it was good value for money. Food quality was good.

I had a full body massage with Olivia and it was excellent! The staff are extremely polite and friendly. A beautiful venue for a spa day and/or place to eat.
M. W.
Great place to spend 4/5 hours , service pretty good food above average quality but not cheap worth a visit just be mind full of the service charge which is on parties regardless on size but would still recommend
T. S.
Visited today for a swim, sauna and lunch. Not only is it a lovely setting, but also the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and all very attentive.

We visited for a Birthday treat and wasn't disappointed. Excited to come back soon!

This is a bit of a hidden gem in Reading. I came here to eat rather than swim but the surroundings are attractive and the food is good. Service is excellentand and the cocktails are pleasant and well mixed.
K. M.
Possibly best tapas ever had, inside or outside of Spain. Staff are lovely and wonderful space for glorious summer evening. As you can possibly tell, I enjoyed it
T. K.
outstanding food. very light and delicious
M. R.
Very much enjoyed the swim and the meal. The water seemed to be a little bit cold, it was a cold day however.
I'm not sure about the reception area where customers leave the clothes, it all seems a little confusing at first, where to go, what to do and where to get changed. Once that stage is passed you can fully enjoy the facilities.
Food is also nice. And the service makes sure you enjoy the time there, I was lucky to meet the manager and he told us about the history of the place, so that's a bonus too!
J. G.
Fantastic facility , went with couple of friends after getting the Christmas £10 swim offer. We spent few hours in pool and hot tub , which was really really hot 😃. Showers were amazing and loved the toiletries provided. We then had a couple of drinks by the pool which was really relaxing. It was very busy but still quiet enough to enjoy. Would def go back xxx

Beautiful pool and hot tub with luxury dining.
They do delicious drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and fantastic food. Well worth a visit.
C. B.
Our sports club has held two dinners here and both times the venue exceeded expectations. Fantastic looking place so good to see an historic building being brought back into service. Oh, I haven't mentioned the food. It's simply stunning and don't go expecting the usual fare. Then there is the staff to mention, they cannot be more helpful. Five stars-plus for me in fact.
M. E.
Fantastic atmosphere. Very relaxing, lovely hot tub, nice 25m pool with low chlorine and cooler than usual water, but after 2 lengths it's the perfect temperature. Saunas are nice but might need a little water to heat them up after the door is opened again. Cold showers and cold buckets are also available for those who feel the need. Parking also available for members (when there's space) and guests for a fee.
A. P.
Great place for food, didn't get a chance to swim but it looked good
S. C.
Fantastic to see a wonderful upgrade to something that could have ended as rubble. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was really good quality. Really friendly staff. Their own bread oven sandwich was really unusual and I would recommend thoroughly. The spa looks great, I really wanted to get in the pool. Don't miss this little gem.
M. T.
Watching the steam rise from the pool from the dinner table on a cold winters evening as people swim about was wonderful. A plush experience. Food is pricey for what you get but it's good quality and tasty. A big Spanish influence on the food and drink.
I wouldn't rush back just for a meal due to the prices but I will make a point of taking one of their swim and eat packages some time.
A great place to relax.
M. F.
Absolutely beautiful pool with sauna and hot tub. Arrive between 1pm-4pm for ‘public swim’ which costs £20
P. B. '.
I would have given this four stars as the facilities for the pool are excellent and I enjoyed my time getting wet. However the enjoyment ended when it came to the restaurant experience which was ruined by the fact that they tried to be clever with the menu and use multiple languages that nobody understood to explain each menu choice, nobody knew what they were ordering, which was expensive for luck. But the food was arrived nice, just would have been great to know what I'd ordered!
A. L. M.
My husband and I celebrate our wedding anniversary here. The service never disappoints and the food is always incredible. He recently surprised me with a spa and lunch package which I am stoked to use on Tuesday. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful, a true Reading gem!
R. C.
Swim and lunch package was really good. Lovely place to go, the pool, hot tub and saunas were excellent and loved the fact that it was outdoors. Nice areas for relaxing inside if it was chilly. Food for lunch was excellent, the service in all areas of the venue was superb. I will be doing this again.
G. M.
This is a wonderful place. Fabulous swimming pool & hot tub in beautifully restored Lido. Great, clean changing rooms, saunas and long chairs to laze in. Huge bonus of an excellent restaurant too. I've only had delicious breakfasts there but have heard really good things about the tapas and other meals.
R. J.
My favourite place. Been here a few times with my mum and we recently did the full spa day which was exceptional. Great value for money, delicious food and treatments so relaxing I nearly fell asleep during my facial. Please continue to do what you do!
s. m.
Beautiful place. I paid £20 for a 2 hour swim, with sauna and jacuzzi included. Well worth it. A great asset to Reading
A. B.
Tasty and interesting food on both the a la carte and set menus, served at both lunch and dinner. Cream tea very disappointing, the item described as a scone was actually a burnt rock cake, and when I asked for hot chocolate I was told that they had run out of powder.
Over a number of visits we have really enjoyed the outdoor pool, sauna and treatments that we have had. Car park charge of £5/day needs to be booked in advance.
A. M.
Lovely food, has a Spanish influence (probably regional though I can't think which region!) but everything I've eaten there in two visits has been lovely. Flavour combinations I wouldn't have thought of but which are excellent and good wines. The ox cheek main is melt-in-the-mouth and very rich, braised (?) leeks with prawns etc. to start was delicious. Setting also great, lovely to see the thought put into refurbishing the old lido building. Yes, you do sit around the edge with the pool in the middle, but it's quite relaxing and atmospheric with the pool lighting. Cost around £40-45 for two courses with wine so mid-range pricing.
A. L.
First visit to the restaurant: Friendly, helpful staff, food excellent, and many veggie and vegan options. Somewhat pricey, but set menu is very reasonable, and healthy, good quality food is worth the price. Also had coffees, also great quality. Thanks for a lovely experience!
M. J. R.
Lovely facilities and friendly staff. Good massages too. Cafe also serves nice drinks and food. If I were to pick up on two things it would be parking - you're not allowed to park in their carpark unless you've paid for a day session or are a member and parking is a nightmare there. £3 to park in the one next door which is often full due to the playing fields.
A. B.
Had a meal here with a large group, some with different food preferences and allergies. The food was fantastic, every course was delicious and there were really good alternatives to those who couldn't have the main choices. The service was excellent and the surroundings are beautiful. Highly recommended.
M. M.
Staff are friendly and very helpful, me and my partner went here for thr day as it was given to us as a present for Christmas what an amazing place we booked a massage totally separate and wow what an experience so relaxed afterward.
Also we had lunch in our package me and my partner a very fussy and we change the menu slightly even tho it meant we didnt get a full meal, the chef was then nice enough to send us out some mash potatoes and extra veg to give us a full meal
Was a great experience and and venue.
Would recommend this to my friends and family.
K. T.
Beautifully renovated old baths. I had tapas for lunch. The experience was a treat for my husband's birthday. It's not something we can afford to do every week but a very reasonable treat. Will definitely go again.
A. J.
The Lido is a gorgeous venue and has been very sympathetically renovated. The food is excellent, very seasonal with a middle Eastern influence. I'd happily eat there regularly. Oh and their wine selection is good too.
L. P.
An incredible spot by the Thames. Great food great staff.
K. P.
Like thousands of others, I used to have swimming lessons here, in my case, during the sixties. A most unhappy experience. However, I'm delighted to give 5 stars to the restaurant. It was interesting to see the original infrastructure and layout easily recognisable from those dark days. I will use the new facilities at some point in the future. These include the heated swimming pool, hot tub and saunas, all new.......and warm or hot.
F. L.
Excellent addition to Reading. Haven't had the pleasure of swimming yet but their food and drink is both excellent and reasonably priced. Good tapas selection with generous portions, particularly fond of the coffee and while the cakes selection is generally limited (only Portuguese Custard Tart and Turkish Frangipani), both were tasty.
M. G.
Delicious food without being pretentious, very relaxed environment due to the spa customers. The restaurant looks on to the pool and is extremely bright and welcoming. The staff are incredibly nice. you can park in the ncp car park in front of the lido, £3 for 2 hours stay. Definitely worth a visit.
C. W.
A wonderful, mini-spa day. I went for a swim and tapas package with my girlfriend. We also had a couples massage. It had only just opened. The staff were friendly and gave us a warm welcome. There are still a few kinks to iron out: the car park is still under construction; the front door to reception isn’t clearly signposted; the outdoor changing room curtains are hard to open and close; some of the showers are missing their chains; we weren’t told we had to fill in the survey before the massage (I was expecting a face-to-face consultation); our couples massage was done in two separate rooms (not much of a couples massage, is it?); and the fire alarm went off during my massage! But none of this bothered me. It’s a beautiful building, a lovely pool (not too crowded), tasty food at the restaurant and a great massage. I think it’s better than Bristol Lido. We hope to come back regularly. What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
D. C.
The Thames lido is excellent.
The relaxing atmosphere, high standard of facilities and the surroundings are fantastic.
The staff and management are always friendly and helpful every single time we go there.
The food is delicious. Whether it's tapas a full meal or a tasty breakfast, they have a great selection here.
Coffee is very good too.
I'd highly recommend the Thames Lido for a relaxing day by the pool or for something tasty to eat.
D. L.
Brilliant fixed price lunch no longer available but Tapas was good.
Late breakfast excellent.
S. B.
Had a wonderful lunch there today. The food was the best I've tried in Reading, absolutely delicious, fresh and varied. The service was faultless, warm, friendly and all took pride in their work. We will be back for more and with family and friends to enjoy a swim, a massage and some lovely food in a lovely spot.
G. E.
I've joined and swim pretty much every day which makes it less that 3 quid a day, I absolutely love going down on a crisp winters day swimming 40 lengths then a hot tub and a steam sauna. Really friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately I go back to work far to relaxed.
I've eaten in the restaurant for lunch and breakfast and it's excellent they seem to be getting better every week so far. the poached eggs were lovely and the coffee is really good.
C. R.
Totally unexpected, delightful surprise! We went for lunch today and were bowled over by both the beauty of the space, and the scrummy Spanish influenced food. Lovely service in the restaurant too. Our new favourite place in Reading!
M. A.
A very unique experience. It's great to see an old unique building being tastefully restored and brought up to date whilst retaining its original use case. We went for an evening meal and the food was lovely (personal preference I would prefer fillet!) well prepared and knowledgeable friendly staff. Off to a great start
C. W.
Amazing lido, the food was excellent too. We went on a £40 package which included lunch (2 courses), the lunch alone was worth that. I was a bit worried about freezing in the lido but after a quick dip in the main pool I warmed up in the hot tub and sauna - which was very nice. The service was excellent too. Well worth a visit.
S. R.
Amazing place!! I didn't know the existence of this place and my friends took me there for my birthday!! Loved everything about it!! The style of the swimming pool the jacuzzi and the restaurant!! The food is divine but a bit pricey!! Definitely worth it though!!
B. P.
Went for breakfast with colleagues from work. Had Turkish poached eggs with extra bacon. Food was very nice, the sourdough bread though was extremely hard t8 the point that I cut the roof of my mouth removing a bit of skin which is now extremely sore. The others also mentioned how rock hard the bread was to the point where it wasn't possible to eat it apart from the small part in the middle. A bit of a shame because the portion sizes are much smaller than what you'd expect from somewhere offering a traditional cooked breakfast. Still I enjoyed mine despite the fact I could have eaten another serving and the kippers were a decent size and were liked by everyone who had them.
It's a very nice venue, worth going back to try lunch or dinner but breakfast was too overpriced for what you get imo unless you want very high quality coffee with a small but fancy meal for breakfast.
The lido looks Good, I was going to try a swim before getting there but online it said that swimming wasn't possible until after 9 but there were people swimming when I arrived just after 8am so that was disappointing.
Overall very nice venue. Good food but better value for money by increasing portion size would be nice as without ordering extra eggs and bacon (which costs as much as a meal at breakfast) I'd have been quite hungry still. Please try the bread as well because it's not very tasty and the mouth feel us awful as you loudly crunch through it while it gouges bits of the roof of your mouth out. It feels like nobody has actually tried eating the bread as any other type of crusty loaf or roll would not only be easier to eat but taste nicer as well like the rest of their food which is made with very nice, fresh and flavourfull ingredients.
T. M.
This place is just amazing superb pool spa and saunas
Restaurant food is excellent beautiful place for a chilling afternoon or evening
Or you can just pop in for a coffee and a cake
Love it here
E.
Always lovely to be here. Clean facilties. Polite staff. Was great swimming in an outdoor pool.
E. E.
First time at the Lido today and not the last! Fantastic team, superb food, and brilliant value for money. Thank you Thames Lido.
J. C.
Great experience, I appreciate it may be a little on the pricier side for some. However considering a coffee here is better and cheaper than a hughstreet chain you can't go too far wrong.
The decor and the atmosphere definitely adds character to this place, and while it may not be a purist swimmers experience I felt lovely and refreshed after popping along.
I've noticed a few 1 star reviews especially one coming from an individual who rated pitcher and piano 5 stars. I would say take these review with a pinch of salt and head down for yourself.
J. S.
I was treated to the swim, spa and lunch package for my birthday. This place is heaven on earth, cannot recommend strongly enough. Lovely outdoor pool at just the right temperature, choice of two saunas with a cold water bucket of doom (possibly not the actual name) for when you get out, hot tub, amazing massage treatment, delightful two course lunch. The entire building is beautifully decorated, and the staff are friendly and professional.
Treat yo'self!
S. E. S.
The lido is a great addition to Reading. Delicious food, amazing massage, beautiful space.
B. R.
Had a spa and lunch package here. The place is absolutely stunning, they have done an amazing job at combining the old Victorian listed building with modern additions. Thanks pool has practically no chlorine so is a treat to swim in and the added a jacuzzi next to it. Two sauna rooms have been added as well. Upstairs are a number of treatment and a relaxation room. I had an amazing massage done and felt seriously relaxed before having a lunch which, whilst a tad on the small side, was delicious.
The highlight though, and what made this place for me, was the staff. Everyone we spoke with throughout our day was very friendly, helpful and keen to ensure we had a good day.
I would totally recommend this place and hope to visit again. It's a real gem, hidden away in Reading, and is a credit to all the people who fought hard to make sure this building was kept and used again after being left to rot for many years. One of the nice touches is that dotted around the interior walls are photos of what the place was like before renovation, and photos of the works taking place. This might sound naff but when you are there and can see just how successful the renovation was, you really appreciate being able to see the history of the building too.
If you get the chance, go.
It's only a short walk from the train station. You can drive and park if you book a space, but you should go the whole hog and have a wine while you are there!
S. P.
This is a wonderful dinner experience with great food. I highly recommend a swim before the meal in the lovely pool and hot tub. The food is then excellent and you feel you have worked for it. Would recommend as a treat.
B. M.
It was weird swimming with people eating their breakfast pool side, but it was a lovely swim, the sauna was brilliant and the neck and shoulder massage was heavenly 👏🏻
N. J.
What a lovely day we had. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and the pool was lovely and cool. The environment is modern and clean with the original charm still present. The massage was just what I needed to top off a relaxing day
A. S.
A real gem 10 minutes walk from Reading station.
We had a twilight spa which included fluffy robes and towels and a 60min treatment, as well as use of the pool, hot tub and saunas. Friendly staff and an excellent restaurant. A very relaxing evening.
D. C.
Only had a pre meal drink there but staff were excellent & great atmosphere
H. M.
Enjoyed our time at the Lido immensely. 3 of us visited and we all said our massage was one of the best we'd had. If we had visited in the summer I'm sure we would of had more time in the swimming pool but in October it was a little chilly for us. Clean and all staff were friendly (with only 1 exception)
We were told we'd probably see the bar staff flaring and they could make us any cocktails (well it was my 40th) but when I asked for a Bramble the Bar man looked at me like I was joking.....and then said no, I dont have the stuff. I dont think he wanted to be there on a Sunday let alone there and Flaring (there was none btw)W
I will be returning 👍
A. P.
Amazing time, great staff, fantastic food.

I am a proud member and consider myself lucky to show off a true gem in reading. The Lido team - across the spa to the restaurant - have been a great group of people to get to know and share a glass of vino with.
Recently hosted 7 colleagues from the States for a business dinner. James was so on it and just his rock star self.
He suggested the bird feed menu. Great for a large group and in a trusting, adventurous environment. We had smoked sardines on toast, burnt fig and balsamic on burrata, a mushroom dumpling. Fish stew with grilled prawns. A veal on bone with silky potatoes.
I’ll be staying a member despite the temps in the winter. A true Nordic experience. Thank you team.
N. S.
Beautiful place, small and very cosy. The swimming pool is a good size (25m), there are hot tub, sauna, restaurant, bar, massage. The food is good and reasonably priced (16£ for 2-course meal). I will definitely come back!
B. B.
Nice and relaxing little oasis in a busy town.
Went midweek so bit too busy but lots of people just coming for lunch too.
Pool needed to be a degree or 2 warmer maybe.
Lunch was a set menu in our case so portions were smaller than the al a carte menu, but very tasty. Food is largely Spanish themed (not sure why).
Treat yourself to a massage then relax in the pool and spa. Drinks are reasonable prices.
C. M.
Lovely place with ana mazing atmosphere ! Staff are incredibly kind and helpfull espessially with allergens. they took the menu to the chefs who wrote through exactly what they could and couldnt have and different subsatutes available !!! The food itself was also divine with verry little waiting time. definatly would go again, worth the price
E. W.
Fantastic food venue and lovely space for swimming! The lido has everything- from the perfect venue for a coffee, a spot of lunch or full blown tapas, it offerd delicious food whatever the menu. The staff are so friendly and attentive and the swimming facilities are excellent too. So pleased to see a hsitorical spot being brought back to life in Reading. Highly recommend visiting, any time of day
m. m.
We absolutely loved the building and it's atmosphere but the menu was a disappointment. It was quite a small choice of starters and mains, but I found it was mainly fish dishes. In my opinion there wasn't enough meat choices. No red meat, steak or otherwise. It was also expensive, we had 2 courses and 2 drinks each and it came to nearly £100.
S. B.
Can't beat this place for amazing tapas and atmosphere. Great pool and massages too.
s. s. d.
Lovely ambiance, elaborate drinks menu, good food but only a single vegetarian option in Mains. They have a Tapas Bar that offers more veg options.
T. N.
Amazing Edwardian building, tastefully modernised and moved to mostly members basis. Non member and children limited to certain hours or purchasing packages (food/swim/massage)
H. A. i. N.
Beautiful building, beautiful pool, friendly staff and close to the train station and centre of Reading too.
L. D. P.
Excellent food! Melting fish, juicy and tasty burrata. £100 dinner for 2 including main to share, main course each, wine, no dessert.
Chic yet cosy environment, views to the pool, excellent to enjoy with friends or couples.
F. P.
We had a wonderful lunch at Thames Lido on Saturday. Really interesting flavours and good quality produce served by a very friendly team. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and relaxing to watch people swimming while you dine!
X. L.
lovely price, nice food with good service
N. C.
Just opened the week before. Great place for an experience, heated outdoor infinite pool, enclosed restaurant next to pool. We just had lunch, which had a Spanish theme, which we enjoyed. Place is still being finished off outside, car park being one of them, so park in paid parking next door.
D. S.
Lovely place to relax and unwind. Swim and dinner was a wonderful treat. Great food and the menu, while difficult to understand offered some unexpected suprises.
L. B.
Lovely day, super food. Have already recommended to many friends. Will be going back.
J. L.
What a lovely place to spend a relaxing hour or two. Or three. Had a lovely Turkish eggs brunch after my swim-sauna-hot tub. And residents get a discount 9.30-10.30 a.m.
F. W.
Fantastic spa package (swim, massage, tapas) at good rates - would highly recommend!
K. A.
I adore this place. The food is fabulous and the views are amazing - the renovations are exemplary. Really lovely place to spend some time either in the pool or dining.
M. N.
Attended for a late afternoon swim and early dine package with my sister. We both had a great time. Staff very welcoming. Love what they've done to retain many beautiful Victorian features but incorporate modern conveniences and sympathetic decor. Had excellent pot of tea on arrival and exquisite meal after our swim. Comprehensive choice of gins! Both agreed our scallops were the best starter we'd ever had anywhere, and that's saying something. Would recommend this package as an usual gift (we paid £45 pp for use of pool, sauna etc plus two-course meal).
D. R.
Subpar experience and service from the Thames Lido. The connectivity between functions of aquatics, SPA and dinning require refinement and alignment to create a more harmonious and environment to match the desire of peace and resbit..
Postives:
The decor of the surrounding has been created to a seaside feel with coloured beach hut like buildings surround a central outdoor pool.
Negatives:
Arrival experience needs to warmer and more welcoming with staff exsipitting little enthusiasm for the customer journey.
Connectivity between packages to inform guest of next stages of the package such as when to move to Spa vs dinning without having to clock watch yourself which removes the experience tranquility that you require to be mindful of trimmings.
Summary
Overal the centre require better grasp on how to Great a customer / guest experience and to create greater experience for Customers.
T. G. M.
fabulous facility with great customer service. Loved our spa day there.
E. D.
While the facilities were good and the pool and hot tub nice, it doesn't justify the high prices charged. Swimming became chaotic when the pool filled up only slightly. There are no lanes so good luck not being smacked by the person doing proper front crawl and not looking ahead of themselves. In conclusion: nice but overpriced.
L. W.
Had my 3rd visit today and had to say I came away disappointed yet again. Each time I’ve visited the reception staff have always seemed to be grumpy and unfriendly. Despite calling first thing this morning to ask to pay and reserve a parking space I was informed to “just turn up at the barrier” and that I’d be “let in if there was a space” so I did exactly that. When there I did just that and was told rather rudely that I needed to book. When I explained what I had been informed during my call I was told that no member of staff would ever say that! Basically calling me a liar. A very disappointing start to my day.
The facilities are nice but to be charged so much for entrance (which doesn’t even include a towel or a robe) and to then be greeted by a grumpy face and the fact that I’ve given it 3 try’s now (each time has been the same), I think the atmosphere could be a little nicer.
D. J.
Lovely evening swim followed by a fantastic dinner.
S. A.
Facial and massage delivered with skill and enthusiasm by Zee. He is one of the many skilled members of staff ensuring Thames Lido delivers an enjoyable experience. The highlight is the outdoor pool, worth a visit alone. This gem is complimented with a hot tub(heaven) , outdoor showers and two saunas. The view is of open sky, soaring trees and floating clouds, all reflected upon the water.
Very romantic as you float into another world. Nature is a theme that reflects well in the wood, water, glass and stone used throughout this lovely building. The choice of muted primary colours - yellows, rich reds, midnight blues and pinks just add to the magic. Yet it’s not over the top or intimidating.
That magic continues into the restaurant where the food was not a disappointment. Fresh seafood starters and hearty mains fortified us for another dip in the pool as we thought about what to do next and tried not to think about going home.
The only down side was the main took a while to turn up but generous slabs of soda bread kept us going. The vegetarian dish was tasty but not hot enough.
All the staff proved that going above and beyond their normal duties need not be am obvious chore or inconvenience to them. If they minded doing a little bit extra it never showed. Refreshing.
What makes this place special is the pool, how it works so well with nature, providing what is almost a surreal experience. It’s good to see how this focus has not been lost or wasted.

The Thames Lido is a tranquil oasis very close to the heart of Reading. I took a friend for a swim and early supper package and the experience was wonderful. The spa and restaurant staff are fabulously welcoming and efficient. The changing areas are superbly appointed with fantastic lidospa products free to use. The temperature of the pool was perfect - cool enough to make you feel energised as you swim. Chlorine levels are very mild and the water felt very pure. There is a hot tub and sauna too. Supper was excellent with friendly, efficient service. I have read great things about the food and it really was a breath of fresh air - beautifully presented and tasty dishes. I enjoyed a chilled Spanish soup, Ajo Blanco, and Imam Bayildi as a main. A wonderful experience - can't wait to go again.
L. M.
Wonderful place, friendly staff and the most delicious food I've ever had! Definitely worth a visit
T. H.
Gorgeous restoration - like being in another world, and so unexpected in Reading! Relaxing place for drinks and great food that somehow transports you to another time - particularly magical in the evening light. Highly recommended.
M. F.
I really want to love the Thames Lido. I was so looking forward to their opening. Having been, though, I can't help but feel the facilities are small and the layout for diners is odd. The food IS astonishingly good and the treatments are worth the cost, but as a spa the Lido feels short of the mark.
E. V.
I love the new Thames Lido, it's a real treat to go there. I've only been for a few quick swims / hot tub / sauna / steam rooms, but I love the set up. The Lido is a renovated and reimagined Edwardian Ladies Swiming Bath that originally was fed with Thames water! Now it's an ultra plush 25 M swimming Lido with outdoor hot tub, a steam room sauna and (best of all) a cold water bucket on a chain! It is also a lovely spa and massage centre if your treat yourself. I hav also been to the restaurant and fully reccomend eating there as they do excellent, high quality, interesting meals. You can pop in for a very reasonably priced coffee if you just want to sit in quiet calming and beautiful place. Go, Go, Go honestly it's really nice. I love swimming outdoors and the experience is great, you can change outside or in. Outside changing is in wooden surrounds and they provide the bet smelling body washes I ever used. I know I sound like I'm being paid for this review but I'm honestly not :) Enjoy - if you have a Reading Passport you can swm for an hour at a reduced price at select times Monday - Friday.

Great swim & excellent lunch

Beautiful place strongly recommend a massage 👌
R. L.
Love this place! Everything is great from the facilities and food to the staff.
Be warned though, the pool is cooler than you expect but once you start swimming it’s great (even on a rainy day).

Excellent food, friendly staff
The menu is constantly rotating but the chorizo is the best

Great relaxing place for having a mental break from reality

Absolutely fantastic experience and wonderful day. Attentive staff, delicious food, amazing massage and facial (Zee was brilliant), first class facilities. Top marks. 5 stars all round.

Went here for my birthday earlier this month - had the swim and dine package. Really lovely evening, great facilities and delicious food. Definitely recommended for a nice treat!
D.
Was a very nice afternoon, bit pricey but enjoyed both the pools and the sauna. Worth it if you just want to relax and destress, just be careful of when you go, that could change your experience quite a bit.
E. C. (.
Have only tried the restaurant here so far, rather than the pool & spa facilities, but was hugely impressed by my experience of the food, service and ambience. Menu is exciting and adventurous, don’t come here if you only like chicken & chips!!
P. W.
We visited in the evening for dinner . The food was excellent, the service was patchy. When we arrived we were told we couldn't use the car park because it was reserved for swimmers! It was almost empty all night ! We spent over £ 300 . Just a little disappointed about the attitude of the reception staff on arrival.
A. R.
Always nice to pop in and meet friendly people and eat delicious food in a beautiful environment. Today I had an extra special occasion to sing (spontaneously)some Finnish songs to a very special Lady❣️
P. M.
Swim and lunch, a brillant day out thank you.
H. B.
Booked in for a swim and breakfast- £35 a head. Was told only 10 people were allowed in pool at a time at time of booking. This was clearly not the case. Lots of children too - website clearly says children to swim at 2 to 4pm. Visit was marred because of this - impossible to swim. Breakfast was good - though sour dough toast was over cooked and hard.
Also note: we did not know about free parking so paid £9 at NCP. Website says spa days have free parking we only booked for the morning - so thought it didn’t apply to us.
It is a lovely facility - however, will visit again out of school holidays.

Wonderful place for a swim. Sauna's are great. Friendly staff
M. D.
Great little find, food has strong Spanish influence with thoughtful dishes. Will be a hit in spring and summer so book early and hope for good weather.

What a great little nugget, hard to describe it, you just have to experience it for yourself... Amazing tapas and a pool even I would swim in all year round, day or night... can't wait to go again! 😁
H. S.
Excellent first encounter with the lido. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Try the tart with earl grey ice-cream, it is brilliant!
S. S.
Great food and amazing wine selection. Mediterranean and Spanish food was delicious and mostly authentic. The Jamon de Pata Negra unfortunately is not as advertised (de Cebo). Those who know, will appreciate how this affects a meal and reputation. However, small issue overall and I hope they fix this. Look forward to going back.
S. D.
Amazing tapas, the best I had in the UK. And such a lovely place too
M. S. Z.
The restaurant is expensive for what you get.

First visit to restaurant and it won't be the last! Really interesting menu and food is very good indeed. Nice atmosphere, classy surroundings and high ceiling. Highly recommended.

Just opened the week before. Great place for an experience, heated outdoor infinite pool, enclosed restaurant next to pool. We just had lunch, which had a Spanish theme, which we enjoyed. Place is still being finished off outside, car park being one of them, so park in paid parking next door.

What can I say AMAZING EXPERIANCE so much attention to detail! Such a fab deal as well (we had the twilight) the use of lido suna and jacuzzi was for 5 hours plus 1 hour full body massage (you can choose others treatment if you wish) the massage malvene was amazing unfortunately my friend forgot her therapists name but blown away) we both had were AMAZING there is a tea room area to relax in you don't feel rushed then if you wish to reserve your table and have allergies (and you have mentioned prior) the resever a space for you, talk to cheff and cater the men to you so you are aware of the allergies! I could say sooo much more but people have to go and EXPERIANCE it yourself. I'm coming back for more!!!!!!
