Reviews of Saint Mary's Stadium
I was very well surprised. Such a lovely stadium with nice views and great atmosphere (as you’d expect if your teams winning).
The away fans section was nice in the food area and having the loud home fans sitting either side of you probably isn’t the best for health and safety.
It was a strange night with many things happening and those 6 Southampton fans who tripped and attacked two opposing fans at the end of the game should be ashamed of themselves. Cannot let that tarnish the club in anyway but policing should’ve been better at the away end. All in all, can’t wait to be back again!
Took my little boy for his 1st match and he had a great time. The stadium is easy to get too, especially to navigate and also not so big that getting a drink or going to the toilet is a problem. The stewards and staff were all really friendly, and the seats were comfortable enough to sit in for a few hours without a problem. Definately a recommend for football fans of any age!
Best stadium on the South Coast. Wonderful atmosphere, a must visit for any football fan, Saints or not. There's lots of parking on the surrounding streets too which is useful.
Top tip: you can bring your own food and drinks (non-alcoholic) into the stadium - the food inside is some of the worst I've ever had so save yourself the expense and disappointment and go to the tesco next door beforehand 👌
Home of Southampton FC. First visit here, will return. Excellent atmosphere under the lights. The club offer a season ticket exchange which allows season ticket holders who can't attend to give up that games ticket, so you have a chance to get a game in. Obviously for the higher category games doubt there would be many. Well done Southampton, more clubs should look at this idea.
My little lads 1st premiership match, he loved it! The light show before the game was brilliant.
Sat in row JJ block D was great view and really family friendly easier to park other side of town and walk
Second visit sat in block E really good view and friendly stadium
Suffering from a fractured ankle I was concerned about standing at The Killers concert. Aaron in the supporters services team was exceptionally helpful and I needed have worried as they were perfectly setup to ensure I had a seat and some space so no treading on my foot.
Went to see The Killers in concert. Brilliant Night, The stadium did itself proud, everything went very well, no problems at all.
Saints v Liv, amazing experience, easy access, clear signage, merch available everywhere, food and drink available. Visited from the IOW.
Great atmosphere, lovely stadium.
Poo loved his day out at St Mary's . First time to a game
Experience was spoiled by certain individuals, some children (who unbelievably were behaving inappropriately with parents next to them) otherwise great place. Food choices and food in general requires improvement
Great trip to St Mary's nice Stadium even better result ... Can't beat a last minute winner ♥️💙🦅
why are they cutting off the internet 😕.. it's a pity that there is no wi-fi in the stadium.
Fantastic time with the wife and daughter for the England game. Great atmosphere thanks to the band and lots of free flags and gizzets to get the kids excited.
Well organized event and venue was clean with plenty of toilets and bars.
Amazing first time, Great Fans and what a game Vs West Ham. Saints have a great fan base!!!
Best team and stadium inside Hampshire. Great experience. Supporter's village is good too. Usual extortionate catering prices of course
Great atmosphere! As visiting fans we had good seats behind the goal...and we won!! Also Nice clean toilets!
Having been to a number of club shops, St Mary’s has the best range of clothing. Even though I’m not a saints fan, I couldn’t help but indulge in some of the beautifully designed shirts and t-shirts. So unbelievably impressed!
Went to see The Killers at the stadium. Band were brilliant and the venue is good if you get standing or seated tickets. Seats are very small and close together, so can feel claustrophobic. Queues for the bars were long but the staff did ok and we managed to get drinks eventually. Although, nowhere to really put them down in the stadium, especially seated areas. It also took quite a long time to get out of the stadium and back to our car. Parking is limited for a concert too. Recommend the train or getting dropped off.
Good venue for standing. Seats too small to be comfy to sit at. Crowding on concourse made it hard to get around the ground. Many people being diverted to different locations.
Amazing first time experience to watch premier league. Amazing atmosphere!!
Good location in Southampton. Nice stadium to watch games. Good views from any seat!
What an amazing atmosphere and the Fans are unreal, I had a fantastic experience and will love to visit it again
Had great time,excellent safety staff.
Though in break it was chaos as that didn't allow exit at stage left to be used or the bars that end. Massive queue to try and get out to toilet and queues for drinks. Not able to get water anywhere except a 20 min wait for bar! This is not good if someone is feeling faint.
Experience of a life time
Chelsea won 6 - 0
And I sat field side
Really good venue for a gig. The Killers were brilliant ( after waiting 2yrs due covid). We came in from London only a 75 miles.
Nice Stadium, parking a nightmare. Although there were lots of carpark spaces, only cars with children playing were allowed to park in Stadium car park. Spectators had to find parking else where. So poor Grandma and Grandpa parked eventually and walked back to the stadium in the rain. As we walked around the stadium we counted loads and loads of spaces. Rules made for the sake of it, no thought to ruining the day with this added stress. We enjoyed watching our grandson playing at the Leon Crouch Memorial event though.
The way they passed that ball from one end of the stadium to the other, well, they made a meal of it for sure and you know the result could have been better but the pies were good, you can't go wrong with those.
Went to Southampton vs Liverpool in the 2021/22 Season. Great atmosphere and very organised. Lovely stadium.
Saw killers gig here. Great venue, great acoustics, good staff and security. Well run event. Killers probably best live performance I've ever seen.
Fantastic, my local premier league ground. Excellent views of the pitch.
Only problem, not much parking so best to park away from the ground and walk
A very big standard stadium. There’s lots like this one. That said it holds up well after 20+ years and a good view from every seat in the stadium.
Visited one match here.
Nice crowd and good match as well.
Great spot to visit. Feels like you're almost on the field with the location. Easy access, friendly staff and good spot for a pint and the game.
My experience was to see the Killers in concert well with the wait .
Went with my wife .Been here previously and had a good experience and my second visit was no different. Great stadium
Decent enough modern stadium. Ground is covered all round, there are no missing corners so a decent atmosphere can be generated. St Mary's is fairly close to the town centre but the opposite side of the town centre to the railway station. It's takes about 15 minutes to walk. There seems very little in the way of pubs in the immediate area.
Review based on the away end.
Ticket collection for away fans is next to the away end, which saves a lot of time for away fans. Of course, it is common sense to have an away box office adjacent to the away turnstiles but a lot of clubs don't think about the supporters! Well done Saints for thinking about the needs of fans!
Strict Covid Passes are checked by very friendly and well meaning stewards, who as well as being super friendly are well organised.
Concourse inside is huge with lots of bars to get grub and drink from. You can easily spread out, and not having to barge your way through a crowd to buy a pint is just great, isn't it?
View from the away end is decent. You sit to the left of the goal wrapping round to the corner flag. Saints fans that sit next to the away fans look very young and have a lot to say for themselves!
Great match. Brilliant organisation and a few nice pints. Good value and perfect family atmosphere. Nice job.
Decent stadium, tidy pitch. Massive queues due to delays with the ticket scanner machines not functioning correctly. They could do with more food / drink windows inside to accommodate the demand.
Excellent stadium, watched saint's v Burnley, premier league for 15 pounds, good value for money, entertaining game with four goals,2 2 draw,Excellent for the neutral supporter.
I generally enjoy attending matches especially in hospitality which is definitely on the very expensive side. However when my Son and I sit in general seats which are better value, the queues for halftime refreshments are very long and the service is ridiculously slow, so much so that unless you leave your seat well before the halftime whistle you have very little chance of being served before the start of the second half. The staff are generally very helpful and pleasant. Some sort of pre-ordering system for halftime refreshments would greatly improve my experience and I would award 5 stars.
Great to back at the ground with fans in a full house. Really good atmosphere, COYR!
Great day out, no stupid covid passes required, being in a full house with 32,000 football fans was amazing.
A great venue for a music gig. Staff knew exactly what they were doing. You could spot the stewards and were very friendly. Take That 2019 supported by Rick Ashley and Lulu
Amazing ground and atmosphere is amazing during games. I recently visited for a stadium tour and it is brilliant. You get to visit the pre and post match conference room, hospitality boxes and rooms, tunnel, changing rooms and pitchside. Would definitely recommend
Good views, well staffed and efficient bars, friendly stewards. Visitors coaches parked very close to entrance points allocated to away supporters. Well oiled machine.
Very well organised event during England's Ladies game. The staff is polite and friendly.
Up the saints! Great view from any seat in the stadium. Best off half way down if you want to get out first. Half time food and drinks takes ages unless you leave with five mins to go in the first half and chance missing the action. The atmosphere has improved recently and the stadium is usually pretty full. Around 20mins wall from Southampton central station it’s easy to get to, you’re best of getting the train on a match day, especially if there’s a cruise ship or two docked as there’s so many more people and traffic around so it can take ages to drive and parking is expensive. Obviously you’ve probably guessed I’m a saints fan so bias but it is a good stadium compared to others I’ve seen.
Great experience to see high high level football
Nice stadium, great views of pitch from anywhere in the ground. Needs brightening up in the away end where you come through the turnstiles, a little dark and dismal. Staff on drinks and food counters were very friendly and the fans were great.
Nice stadium, easy to get to. Seat rows are a little narrow and food and drink are overpriced, but that goes for most grounds nowadays
a lot smaller than it looks on tele, good day out tho, parking near the ground was good, good atmosphere from the away fans
Good facilities, easy to get to from train station. Queues were not too bad inside. Doesn't do hot drinks like tea or coffee. Not something I was looking for but I know others were on a very cold January night!
I had a great time. ❤️🥂🍾💃⚽
Good views in the away sections. Reasonable wait time for food and drink. Bit of a pain to get out of the ground though
Brilliant atmosphere, also staff in stadium friendly. Only problem was transport outside stadium, my kids loved
Japanese fooball player Maya Yoshida belongs to Saints.
Saints fans are wonderful and friendly.
I've enjoyed the game.
Great location for our event AllBoat Services Limited are ready to welcome you to Stand A13 at the prestigious British Marine Expo at St Mary’s Football Stadium, Southampton. Come and meet Nick and Lloyd and let them show you the way to dock without any hassle or stress with the Dockmate hand held wireless remote docking system. #docking #remote #allboatservices #easydockingisthefuture #BMEXPO #dockmate
The ground is not that far from the city centre and west Quay shopping area, so OK for family going shopping ,if not into football, plenty of police and stewards as you approach St Mary's, with roads blocked off, our taxi dropped us off at the Northam away end , covid QR Checked at barriers, then sent to turn style, people having choice of removing top off lucosade etc or poor away, once in plenty of drink and food on away concourse and toilets, just a few steps to enter stadium seating too, and having read some reviews about poor views and a running track around the pitch,we couldn't see what the problem was ?, a nice modern ground and facilities, stewards and police easy going as well, so we had a good experience even if we got a late draw,
Had a great evening here watching Take That in concert, supported by Rick Astley and even Lulu put in an appearance. Good times, well managed event and a day I will never forget
Relatively new stadium. If you thinking of getting food/drink then do that well away from the ground as little inside or out.
Awesome day out everytime I take my two boys!! Good view from wherever you sit!!
Very modern ground with good facilities they even serve kingfisher lager (how posh is that ) parking away from the ground recomended as it is limited
Disabled section is amazing great views as I'm an enabler. Friendly and comfortable atmosphere
Not the best stadium big screens showing advising. All game
Not premier League standard
I watched Saints Ladies beat their Pompey Counterparts 2 -0, to become Champions of their League! Congratulations, ladies!
Great stadium..love every time when go there ...
Went to see England beat Kosovo 5-3. Great stadium in a really easy location to get to.
My son and husband go most weekends to see the saints play, good for concerts.
Good walk from the station not the nicest of areas in the dark, would have been better if my team had won!
Great place to visit and watch football. Atmosphere is great. Will go again
Nice stadium good atmosphere away fans (united) didn't stop singing.
One massive rip off is £5 for 1 dark fruit cider can 440ml totally ripped of..... if £4.50 for a sausage roll aint bad enough.
I went for my first premier league football game with my 9 year old boy here. I was a little worried that it would be difficult to get in and a bit of a faff but it was really easy and went very smoothly. I bought a program and drinks from the food stalls outside and there was little queuing. It was easy to find my seats from their directions.
Great Venue for concerts, Take That were amazing and being able to see them at a big venue like st.marys, much closer to home was excellent
I went to watch the game Saints vs Toffees, there was a scarf in every single seat after the huge defeat against Leicester.
Facilities are ok but prices in the bar a bit overpriced.
Short walk from the city centre or just few stops by bus.
Atmosphere it wasn't the best I've seen, even it was almost sold out.
Worth a visit if you love football
First ever football game! Lovely stadium and friendly staff.
Great stadium, well looked after as visitors. Hopefully we will be back soon.
Great stadium, 5 stars when we win, 3 when we lose. I've gone for an average ;)
An absolutally outstanding football atmosphere. The facilities were very good to, as eell as the access to the stadium.
Well organised cup game, safety and crowd control top priority. Well done all the crew.
Very well organised to deal with a capacity crowd. Great view of the game
Great venue watched England womens qualifier v wales really good view well kept pitch. However needs more ladies toilets if it wants to host womens football. It could have pathway lighting outside as it is very dark when you leave at the end of the match.
Wow get to see another Premier League ground maybe next time we will be there at a match
Good stadium with everything you need facility wise, the tickets are a bit overpriced though but are easily available provided you have a Southampton account, can print them off or collect them from thr ticket office. The food is mediocre and expensive but standard stadium food. Good seats with all good views, reccomend the northam end only if your a seasoned fan is you're standing up for most of the game.
A bit pricey for drinks but a fantastic venue
Cracking stadium with fantastic facilities. Well worth a visit.
Brilliant night and well organised for The Killers, thank you
The bars in the stadium are shocking! Trying to get a drink is ridiculous. Very badly organised.
Really great place loved great atmosphere and always lovely beer being served
Normally a great venue, there was a hitch up with the turnstiles so we were late getting in but all ticket sales were refunded so we were happy. Cool fan zone to go first and drinks for half time, love the place
Good trip for an England international Qualifier good facilities good view from all seats! Good atmosphere!
Lots of match day parking in industrial sites at £10. Or Bond Street pay and display. If you want chips or fresh cooked food, buy at the vans outside. No chips inside the stadium and no fresh cooked food, all pre heated. Alcohol in plastic cups avaiable inside, under cover but not in sight of the pitch. All seating is obstruction free and there is a big screen above each goal. The time clock stops at 45 and 90mins so no view of any extra time remaining. Quite annoying. Stewarding is good and crowd control effective. Nice and clean interior reasonable singing.
It was quite nice, been to worse. Lovely Atmosphere and its one of the stadiums i wouldn't mind to return in the future in case my team plays there again in the next seasons.
Visited St Mary's Stadium a while back. Very spacious , nice, clean and state of the art. It’s such a great venue as well as just an all around sweet stadium. Plenty of food and drink outlets and, surprisingly, plenty of clean toilets. All very efficient and easy. Overload of local transport and roads as large crowd leaves though. Really good place to go sight seeing and easy to find parking and places
Went for the rolling stones concert.
Vaccines as warm up act.
Well organised.
Great atmosphere and very easy to find our way around
One of the smaller stadiums I have been to, but the staff are super friendly and helpful thank you.
Small but you right there on Mach day.
What a great day out, well organised and policed and the ladies loo was a solid 8/10!!
Went to St Mary's Stadium for the event "An evening of Queen ", the event was superb. The staff, the organisation and service all 5 star, the band and singers just brilliant. Great value for money and a great night out.
Great place. Stewards are attentive, food and drink reasonably priced
Another win for the Saints took my Grandson to his first football match. A great evening.
They said we will get our ticket price back because of the difficulties getting in. That would be nice. Good atmosphere for the one all draw with Manchester United which the Southampton fans appeared to be happy with.
Fantastic Stadium, the best fans. Last night's performance by the side not as good though.
Ist timer & had a good day , good facilities & great win for the Blues!
I had a very good afternoon watching saints the result was perfect,Coventry played well .
been there for the match, the stadium was well
organized and easy access to get in
St Mary's, home of The Saints. The only football club in the South. Also, a wonderful modern stadium
Very good. Beat Everton 2 0. Happy place!
Easy to get to. Very easy to get to seat and the staff were fantastic
Seats were amazing. Everything was top notch.
Our best experience in England. Felt it deeply. We march on.
Great smaller (32K) EPL stadium in Southhampton...about 20 minute walk from train station. Well worth day trip from London to see the Saints!
Good atmosphere. Little bit cramped. Food was average
Last night we attended Queen concert at stadium, first we have a 5star meal with wine and then an amazing concert which was so much more than we expected. Totally brilliant night.5star to stadium staff and event organisers.
Watched the killers fantastic experience only 33000 turned up 😎
Good access, great atmosphere love this place. Always buy refreshments to take in as a little pricy on drinks and food but other then that a great place to go to watch football 😍
FA Cup replay, Southampton vs Derby, cracking game. Not full stadium though so would love to come again for the full experience.
Great day down Southsea getting blown away by the wind lol. At the D Day event xx
Saw Take That at St Mary's. Security getting in and out was smooth and the event marshalls were helpful. Food and drink pretty expensive for what they were offering.
Rolling stones gig .really well organised .park and ride excellent .
Great day out. Good family atmosphere.
Nice modern stadium within walking distance from harbour. Very well behaved fans with very little to shout about so they don't.
Great game.. Great staff.. parking abit tough but did manage to find a spot in the end.. but its a lovely ground.. and fans are great
What a special place love going to watch the saints xx
Very nice
Amazing venue, went for my first premier league game and it was good. Try the steak pie!
It was my first time visiting this Stadium and first time attending a competitive game between England and my Country! It was a magnificent atmosphere!
Nice enough stadium. Easy access.
Fantastic venue but toilet queue was horrendous
Nice stadium, refreshments reasonably priced.
Parking can be a nightmare.
The football can be hit and miss...... Fingers crossed Ralph turns the corner.
Great location, good access and facilities. Shame about the result 😂
great gig experience here ! loved seeing rod stewart live!
Great atmosphere, lively crowd and away fans.
Great stadium very helpful staff
First year ever we've had season tickets, atmosphere unbelievable after Lockdown.. Gives you goosebumps to be in such an amazing place.. COYR ⚽🏆
Small stadium by Premier League standards and not clear how visiting supporters are supposed to get to their turnstiles.
Amazing place to be. Wonderful atmosphere
It was good, I liked the chelsea game
Run of the mill cheap to build football stadium, better than average catering facilities and toilets for an away end! Felt quite far from the pitch though.
Tickets system is very good. Can be hard to get out of though
Good match day experience. Had a really great view of the pitch. Not too steep or high like some new stadiums. Few pubs nearby about 20 minute walk to train station. Would definitely visit again.
Take That concert. Words can't describe it. Out of this world.
Nice stadium shame about the result
Very basic ground
1-2 won away for the mighty Palace...couldn't be better
I work as a steward at the football games here and i must say that of all the places i have been to this stadium is the most enjoyable experience.
There is a real sense of community among the fans that any one can be a part of, I hear them cheering and singing there anthem "Saints go marching in" with pride and is a real wholesome family friendly environment, unlike some other places where the atmosphere is rowdy and unpleasant. I would recommend this place to any tourist who would like to experience English football at its finest.
Food and drink could be better but there is a great atmosphere
Great stadium, excellent staff. Really nice function rooms.
When we went on a stadium tour it was amazing. They have everything you can wish for. The staff are you kind. Thank you
To be fair home fans were loud and stadium was good.
Great day out even if city beat us 4-1
Amazing
Liverpool won so a boss day UTFR
Great view.
Easy to get to as well
Great stadium to watch football in. Food is OK, beer is not all that on match days.
Its also a very good stadium for music gigs, it holds the sound well giving it a great atmosphere .
The stadium also offers the hire of rooms on non match days, not a bad place to hold a meeting.
I think stadium are offered on a Saturday.
Stadium seems easy to get to on event and non event days.
Very expensive beer
Great atmosphere from the Tottenham supporters
Overpriced and no phone signal. Football is good at the moment.
The atmosphere was great and I thought Shane Long was brilliant! Wasn't a fan of Jack Grealish spending most of the game diving and on the floor but that isn't going to let me lower my rating of this exceptional stadium. By far the best football stadium in Southampton
Great viewing from all seats . Love the Saints. The options outside and inside the stadium for food and drinks is just OK though. Could be better but overall a very comfy place to watch the Saints!
Attended the Play the Pitch event for youth football. What an excellent and inspiring event - only spoilt by the OTT stewards who really need to recalibrate themselves for these types of event. Locking a Mum of a child out because she used the wrong exit by mistake - is that really the impression you want to leave new visitors with guys?! What an amazing atmosphere tho - thanks for hosting us.
Very happy with Wilfs last minute winner thanks
St Mary’s. Home of Southampton football club. (The Saints). Overpriced for the working class man.
Been a supporter for 46 years. I love this stadium. The Staff are great and everything is very well laid out. It’s amazing that where ever you sit in the stands you still have a great view! My only gripe is that the food and drink is a bit overpriced, but I think that is to be expected of any stadium whether is be a sporting venue or a music one.
A terrific performance by Southampton FC against The Brentford fc....
New ticket system entry was poor with crowds still outside after kick off. Fair play to the club, as they have refunded all tickets
Love the place, am a season ticket holder and went to my first match 30 years ago, we lost on the day but I'm used to that 🤪
Would highly recommend the Halo bar!
Great for a conference. Not sure about football
Fantastic stadium even though it is a new one
Old stadium...no tours available when i was there...unfriendly staff.
Great place but I follow Arsenal
Good facilities
A nice place to watch the game. Excellent stewards had great times watching my team play there
Great stadium. seating is superb. I am 5"4'' and could see everything, even with people standing. friendly staff and stewards and spacious concourses. Normal football food and drink available and prices are reasonable.
Home of the greatest football team, or at least the greatest in Southampton. Really enjoy visiting with my son. Plenty of burger bars etc outside and kiosks to buy programmes. At least one place to get food and drink once in the stadium. Entry via the turnstiles is always quick and easy.
Oh when the Saints, go marching in
Oh when the Saints go marching in
Lord I want to be in that number
Oh when the Saints go marching in
Only visiting to watch the mighty spurs .... so good day out .
A good 4-1 win. Great facilities.
Great stadium and venue...Attended a workplace conference today...we were all looked after amazingly well. Food and drinks lovely, well mannered and pleasant staff, even arranged for us to have the doors to the stadium open at our lunch break and a guide available to answer questions...nothing too much trouble. An enjoyable work day, excellent event venue as well as Football Stadium...Thank you St Mary's Stadium
Well run venue, been for matches and gigs. Good range of facilities and helpful friendly staff.
Easy access good seat view good food options
Fairly uninspiring meccano stadium of the sort seen at Derby, Boro and Leicester. Catering has improved. Keep it up!
Not that organised when trying to get in . But easy when inside maybe because i am a regular . Bit disappointed with the football club admin , don't seem to really care about the regular fans
Great location like to visit again world cup cricket was on
Always 5 🌟 it's the home of the best club on the South Coast.
Nice atmospheric ground ,great view
Easy to get to plenty of parking and varied functions other than football going on.
Surprisingly on this occasion I wasn't at a match although I have been on many previous visits. This was the start and finish of the Let's Ride Southampton cycle event. It was the perfect choice and many of the 10,000 riders will have seen, and been gobsmacked by, the stadium for the first time. Well done Saints for your work in the community. It wasn't wasted.
What's not to like after a 6-0 away win 😀
As expected, price of food and drink very high and not best value for money.
Went to St Mary’s for a football match and had a great time. The stadium is easy to get to and very well catered for families. The seats are tiered well so wherever you are you get a good view of the action.
Nice modern stadium. Facilities are good. Prices for food are fair. The transport links are okay. We managed to park 10 minutes walk from the ground in an unrestricted area and managed to get away quite quickly but with some (expected) traffic. Quite a good away day.
Went for the Friday night game versus Liverpool on the 5th April. What a fantastic atmosphere, probably the best I've experienced at a football match. Also a great game to watch and the result was awesome if your a Liverpool fan (which I am 👍😁). Well done to all staff it's such a pleasant place to watch a match, highly recommended.
First time with the kids .Got free tickets for 100% school attendance all term.
The stewards and the people in the ticket office were very friendly and helped me find my seat. A very good view and the atmosphere were great too
Lost 3 1 but a great bunch of fans
A good view from most seats as long as you avoid blocks 46 &47 which are in the corner and right up against the home fans.
Food adequate and average prices.
Good parking all around but it is quite a long walk from the station but not the furthest by far.
The home fans drone on with only one song which does rather grate after a while.
Safe to walk around.
Good safe, friendly stadium, card only purchases not ideal.
Came here this evening for the U23 saints v Liverpool. First time we have visited with a lad in a wheelchair ♿ service was A* we were walked right through to our seats then at half time we needed to use the changing facilities, which we were escorted to and from by your helpful staff, to find very good hoisting and changing facilities. After using it, your staff made sure that everything was adequate to our needs and standards (which it was) even on arrival back to the game your staff made sure if we were needing any refreshments as they were about to close the stand. very friendly and helpful staff especially Karen who escorted us on arrival and to the changing facilities... Would highly recommend to anyone who may need to use these specially adapted facilities
Not a very special stadium. Not very handsome too. Might be different for fans though!
Good atomsphere, seating is very good too even right at the back, get to see plenty of action. Parking is a bit of a bummer as it quite far away and gets more expensive the further away you get.🤔. Food is reasonable and priced fairly, very basic but it is what you expect for somewhere that has to cater for 20000+ people. Everything is kept in good condition and clean which is a nice bonus from other stadiums I have visited. Staff are friendly and always happy to help with anything you may need. The one gripe and it may be something I missed is the lack of signage. It is very easy to walk around the whole stadium only to realise that you are pretty much back where you started for things like the shop and ticket office. As I say, it may be something I missed, if so I'm just being dim, but if that is something I didn't miss then I think it would be a nice addition. Overall brilliant experience even as a non saints supporter. Definitely gonna go again.
We went to see Rod Stewart here, it was amazing. Good seats on the pitch well organised security and well marked route from the station. The only down side was the inconsiderate a holes who insisted in getting up every five minute to go for a pee and then again to get more drinks! There were mire than 30 people who had to stand up every time you went off! Are you there for the concert or just to get hammered ?
Normally watch football here , but this particular night i went to see the Rolling Stones. Lovely place as usual .Staff very good. Bars very busy but the service was still pretty fast. A great night out watching the best rock band in the world
So clean . Especially toilets. Easy entrance and quick. Great staff . Superb views.
First timer and pleasantly surprised at the stadium
Easy access and great atmosphere
Went to a concert at St Mary's - very well organised getting in an out so that all went well. However, the seating isn’t that comfortable for a long event and the prices for food and drink at the venue are extortionate. Whilst I enjoyed the concert, I’m sure that there are better venues.
Well im a saints supporter been for footy great atmosphere nice ground and also went to a firework display there tonight really good display lasted a long time had music blaring out whilst they were going off great night... drinks are a little expensive but is what it is foods not yo and priced
Great Atmosphere during match. Good food in hospitality. Friendly staff
Seats not wide enough for modern man. Also in sufficient exits, takes far too long to leave. Otherwise, all seats have unrestricted view. Big enough for a decent atmosphere but small enough for all to see the pitch with ease - unlike the 50k+ stadia which have a disappointing disconnect between crowd and game.
Facilities gor for away fans not staffed sufficiently to cope with numbers, one facility mot open. They now how many away fans are coming so they should staff and open sufficient facilities to avoid unnecessary waits and delays at half time. The food & beverages were good and above expectations for a football stadium.
Here to see a match from the USA. The home fans were wonderful and friendly... And passionate. I have nothing to compare to as I've not been to other premier league matches... But totally enjoying this one.
Great atmosphere and a 4-1 win.
Visited for the recent Saints v Everton game, a 4-1 defeat wasn't the best result for a toffee. I was impressed with the stadium, and the facilities. A great view from the stands, and you didn't have to queue for long for refreshments given the amount of staff that were working, and their efficiency.
Amazing club, amazing stadium, amazing people!
Absolutely love this place the atmosphere is amazing
Always love my trip to St Mary’s. Great away game.
As with most grounds, half time refreshments could be easier to get, but they are no worse than anyone else and I understand why most clubs don’t have this right.
There for Take That concert, very friendly and helpful staff. If attending concert then need to remove tops from your bottles of water. Food and refreshments were available inside the stadium once through security checks
Not impressed. Very few signs through the town to show the way if you choose to walk & they took bars of chocolate off me I had just bought in town as they had their own sweet stand. This was just sickly sweet kids pick n mix.I go to a lot of gigs including London & I have never had to give up my chocolate 🤔
It's huge. Loads of parking spaces around the stadium (but it never seems to be enough when it's game there). Ticket office is right hand side, on the left there's a Saints fan shop. Security checks at the entrance. There's a buffet on the ground floor where you can buy food, snacks and drinks including beer.
Nice enough stadium. Queues for food and drink are ridiculous. Better hope you've got an iron bladder too, gents queues are equally long... Atmosphere ok, saint's choir seems to be missing.
The best place to go to see the best football team in the world.
The views from all seats are red hundreds and not over priced.
If your really lucky you might see Le Tissier
Was born and raised in Southampton so it's only natural that I'm a saint's fan ! A lovely stadium with a very good megastore with great facilities to hand. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone or any fan to come here !!
Great club, great stadium! Glad to be able to see many three-generations family watching a football match together. This is very rare for a premier league football club these days...
Nice touch in ladies loos, not many places look out for us this way
Once again a great Venu for our Christmas party, staff is helpful and the food was good. Next year they should put sign out front directing people to the different parties a bit better but apart from that a great night.
Efficiently designed stadium, most notably when arriving and departing. The whole playing area is visible from anywhere in the stands. The provision for for disabled fans is top class. The match announcer could be clearer.
Good day out, pity Everton got beat
Great view. Away end toilets not great!!!!
Come on you saints! Easy to access and food and drinks available. Toilet access is quick and easy.
A great venue for Concerts.
Went to go and see our Daughter and Love Soul perform with Take That & Lulu, who asked to rehearse with Love Soul. A lovely bubbly Lady, who looked amazing.
Rick Astly was support Act. He was backstage applauding Love Soul as they left the stage. He told them they were Amazing.
The Staff were very helpful and friendly.
We all had an Amazing time !
You May Catch our Daughter singing herd with the Band Madison Heights from time to time too !
Wonderful place the home of football
TERRIBLE ,USELESS , HOPELESS
A DISGRACE TO THE PAYING FANS
My local team!! Supported whole my life so far!!!been loads of ups and downs over the years which I wouldn't changed at all.All part off supporting your club!!!😇😇😇
Oh When The Saints, Go Marching In, Oh When The Saints Go Marching In, I Wanna Be In That Number, Oh When The Saints Go Marching In
Great venue for an outdoor concert, large enough to create a great atmosphere, superb sound & plenty of seating but not too big that the performers are lost in the distance, easy access from plenty of local car parks and train station and so many restaurants and bars in nearby Southampton
Good access to the stadium saw the rolling stones absolutely fantastic
St Mary's stadium is a modern football venue and as such has all the facilities you would expect. The stadium is on an industrial estate on the city outskirts. Parking is available but limited best to use nearby St Mary's Church which also offers burgers bacon rolls snacks and hot and cold soft drinks at reasonable prices. Alternatively there are shuttle buses from both the railway station and the ferry terminal for about £3 return on match days. There are plenty of toilets in the stadium and these include facilities for the disabled. The seats are comfortable and generally offer both a good view of the match and shelter from the elements. The only downside is the poor quality of the football one sees at St Mary's.
Good for concerts, but at 6'4 there is no legroom, and my knees overhung the row of seats in front, and some dorris kicked off during Rick Astley, we moved to am emtpy section for Take That though and had a great concert.
Enjoyable afternoon
Great football club for neutrals and families but stadium has suffered with poor management. On our visit, several turnstiles were out of order, the scanner devices the stewards used to check tickets were not working and so there was a big queue. We missed 10 minutes of football as a result and had to show the confirmation email to someone before they'd even let us in, despite having tickets.
At half time we went for food and drink but almost everything was not available, out of pies, burgers, pasties, hot dogs etc all they had was burgers (which were quite nice but still). No ketchup available either..! One bottle between hundreds of people.
Great stadium, expensive food but good atmosphere
I like it. About the right size a low roof to bounce the sound off and a good view from the away end. Parked locally for £10. Takes 30mins to get away by car.
Would have been better if we'd won 🏆 Xx
Went to the Saints very Everton match for husbands 70th birthday treat with the hospitality package. Food was lovely and drink (wine, beer and soft drinks) free flowing. Service was excellent. Good seats for the game. Just a pity that Everton lost. All in all very enjoyable.
Excellent venue for concert! A little more could be done with signage. A sign for 'hospitality completely missed our attention if there is one so water a half hour in wrong queue. From rail station direction, my wife & I failed to notice a sign saying hospitality entrance was not accessible from the over bridge to Kingsland/Northam area. At 70 and 69 years old, it was a long way round to Itchen. Really enjoyed the experience in the main, though.
Great Stadium, However I’ve seen bigger. Southampton Fans Were Average. Score Was Poor. Beer/Turnstiles were decent.
Good day out and Watford won
I came here for an Open University exam and the staff were lovely. From directions in the car park to the inevitable 'where's the loo please' enquiry, everyone was very kind and helpful. The premises were clean and the facilities outstanding for the occasion. Thank you.
We came to see take that. Very well organized. Could do with more female toilets.
Stadium is great as always, shame the board are investing so little compared to other similar size teams.
Not the first time we have had owners more interested in their own bonus than the team and fans
Incredible Place, great staff, I was attending to a NFL UK event. The security woman and man were Very gentle. Toilets clean and Nice chairs in the média Room.
3 points thank you very much 😉😏😃🐝🐝🐝
Lovely stadium with the amazing atmosphere.
Staff made the night super easy and well organised
Staff are always wonderful thank you
Great stadium. Easy to get to. Lots 9f parking around. Nice friendly atmosphere. I went as an away fan. Away entrance clearly marked. All staff very helpful
The away supporters were behind the goal so had a good view.
Without Southampton fc we can't imagine the English premier league . one of the greatest club and lot of legends played by in this club
Had a great time
Like all new builds, it's not a patch on what it replaced. The Dell was famous for being cramped, and intimidating, and restricted sightlines on all four sides, but it had a cracking atmosphere.
I went here, last night, tenth of September 2019, as an England fan, and enjoyed great comfort, plenty of leg room, and clear sightlines, but...
I was astonished to receive an email, from the FA, thanking me for my part in creating a cracking atmosphere...
Let me just say, to you, and to the FA, I'm not Kosovan, nor is my family, and apart from the wife waving her free flag far too enthusiastically, neither I nor my family made any difference to the librarian atmosphere that surrounded five sixths of the ground, so...
I'll pass on the thanks I don't deserve, from the FA, to every Kosovan fan there. Thanks for a brilliant atmosphere.
The quality of the pitch is insane, toilet facilities are decent, stewards are friendly. The bar staff are friendly and the fans are friendly, many happy memories at St.Mary’s Stadium and long may the continue.
The team love working here, always welcoming and professional!
Not the best game. bad ref decisions. But it is had the best atmosphere in created from the fans. Best I have seen, heard or felt. Long may it continue.
Good place to watch football.
Great views wherever your seat is and a great atmosphere. The placd is usually sold out, even with the team currently fighting religation. Half time queues for the toilets are long and food is expensive. Watch out for the aircraft circling overhead as they come in to land at the local airport.
ound itself is very accessible for disabled people with plenty of disabled wheelchair spaces. Stewards are helpful. For blind and partially sighted supporters the audio commentary service needs improvement as it only works in a certain section of the ground and reception is very fuzzy. Supporters would be better bringing their own FM radio and tuning it to 96.1 for Radio Solent commentary of Southampton.
If that's not possible just ask the stewards for an audio commentary radio. If you're not sat in either the Itchin or northern sections or cannot bring your own radio you will need to contact the football club so that you can be moved within range of the audio commentary service.
The view is pretty good though .
On a match day exiting the ground will take some time as crowds disperse
I am a fan of tasting the various pies available to football fans around the country and I can honestly say that the Saints' Steak and Ale offering at £4 is one of the best in terms of both taste and value!
VERRY nice stadium😊👏 Amazing atmosphere❤️
Good views from nearly all seats. Great atmosphere inside stadium. Could be closer to public transport (e.g. main railway station) but it's walkable or there is a bus option
Nice old-fashioned inner-city ground. Don't arrive hungry as all that is on offer will be the street burger and pie vans. Getting in and out of Southampton is a slow and painful process but St Mary's itself was a pleasant experience, don't expect much atmosphere from the home crowd.
I only sat outside and had a cigarette in the steps. I didn't go in though. The steps were alright; made of concrete I think, with a little yellow line on then to make sure people don't trip up. If I had to find fault, I suppose they were a little cold, but then it was night time on quite a chilly day.
Great atmosphere for England vs Wales women's football
Excellent place to see the rolling stones. Not sure about the soccer quality though? If you've got the time, best to travel seventy five east to the Amex in Brighton.
The Killers were amazing
My first Covid live sport which was extremely well organised as safe. The staff were all excellent and very helpful and I felt really safe.
A great view at a well run stadium.
Good modern stadium. All seated. Good views with no pillars. Not enough loos for the half time rush! 25 minutes walk to train station.
An amazing night with a night with Queen.
Have had a few different experiences of the stadium at St. Mary's and they have all been good Watched a game and enjoyed the hospitality in the box Went to a concert that was great and also watched the football in the stands Was able to enjoy a tour of the stadium on another occasion All my visits have been excellent the staff are very friendly and informative The atmosphere is incredible and the bus service is very good too Would definitely recommend you go to this venue
Excellent modern football stadium. Not great for parking but plenty within walking distance. All the facilities you would expect and home to a great football team, obviously!
Great atmosphere, food, people and stewards helping the day go fantastic.
1 all v Man Utd.
My Church. My 2nd favourite place to be in thr world.
Banging atmosphere, no bad views of the pitch wherever you're sitting.
football in a library and 3 points for watford
St Mary's Stadium is absolutely fabulous.
The atmosphere is great on match day.
The staff are allways very helpfull and polite.
The food and drinks are very good .
Great place with great atmosphere 😁👊👍
Amazing match day experience. Wouldn't mind more options for food and we weren't given cutlery for the pies which made it quite difficult to eat,but the rest was great!
Great under 12 football tournament today and had a brilliant day all round
Great atmosphere and good ticket prices!
The club is missing a trick not providing free fan Wi-Fi for members/ season ticket holders perhaps with an exclusive app to listen to radio Solent commentary catch the replays, place some bets, order half time beers etc etc👌
Home of the saints, amazing atmosphere
This place should be listed as a theme park! It's definitely a rollercoaster ride supporting the saints. Could do with the Samaritans being there in match days as you could say your self harming watching them play! Or make the 🍺 cheaper so you drink yourself into oblivion and don't care anymore!
Not bad, far more civilized than it was in the past, nice and polite supporters that stay mostly seated, so all can watch, good value off peek matches too
Liked the layout, friendliest away fans stewards and bar staff of any Premier League ground I've been to. Will be back soon I hope with Huddersfield Town.
Visited stadium great for away fans as close to the town with plenty of places to eat and drink.....Yates was welcoming before and after the match.
Gone to St Mary's Stadium a few times, once inside the ground it's kept well everywhere clean, out side going and coming to the ground it's not as great. Needs to be cleaned and grounds for the tree's and hedges need to have done very unkept
England Vs Kosovo. Great stadium, good atmosphere... But the England souvenirs on sale were rubbish and the gourmet food outside had rock hard dry rolls...
The best football stadium in the world. 32,000 fans.Big saints fan.
Decent atmosphere. No trouble getting there.
Home of the Saints. Great ground and great club. Grew up in London as an Arsenal supporter but have truly adopted the Saints as my own. Love this club.
Not what I was expecting.way better than I thought
Boyfriend took me here for a game and I’ve supported Southampton ever since (mainly because it makes him happy). I also took him here for the Robbie Williams concert last year, what a night that was!
Yer right... Working on the stadium for all you fantastic saints fans.......was finishing the Itchen Bridge new sign just before Mick Jagger came in with the Rolling Stones I had a deadline but needed the toilet and got told no you cannot use the toilet so your stand was nearly known as the itch stand because I need the toilet and also needed to put on the end letters.....not very professional come on give me a break is there some thing wrong with you people????
Went to see the rolling stones at st Mary,s. Amazing gig
Disappointed that Saints didn't promote the England women's game or celebrate the goal scorers.
Easy access. Organised, helpful staff. Decent toilets. Good choice food. Spacious, with good atmosphere. Excellent music venue.
Well equipped, usually well organised.. Disappointed at gate management for EFL cup game v. Sunderland.. Long queue will into first half. Bouffals goal made up for it!
Nice stadium staff were very friendly and helpful
Great stadium with nice beer on tap. Afterall this is my fave football club. A little biased at that but i dony think many people will disagree with me!
Nice large stadium, very well kept grass. Plenty of food vendors, could do with better toilet facilities, never see them without a queue.
Great stadium, the best team, easily accessible, staff are helpful. food is decent and priced as expected for a football game.
It's a good stadium but beer is crap and catering is often very unorganised. I don't mind paying extra money for a food and drink but at least don't make wait for 15 minutes to get served
A very enjoyable experience.
Good facilities and friendly staff
Rod Stewart concert absolutely fantastic, amazing, great venue, well done Rod and his fantastic team, also loved Johnny Mac and the Faithful
THE SAINTS ON THE SOUTH COAST
Gareth Bale, Adam Lallana, Theo Walcott, Luke Shaw, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers have one thing in common: they were trained in Southampton’s youth academy, where former national stars Alan Shearer, Matthew Le Tissier and Wayne Bridge also received their footballing education. The fact that Southampton managed to get back to the Premier League in 2012 after many difficult years is very much down to the club’s much admired academy.
Southampton’s nickname, the Saints, derives from their original foundation in 1885 as a church club, St. Mary’s, and these roots inspired the naming of their new ground in 2001. Southampton’s FA Cup success in 1976 under manager Lawrie McMenemy was their first major trophy and the most memorable day in their history. As a Second Division side at the time, they upset firm favourites Manchester United and are one of the last clubs from outside the top division to win the FA Cup.
After 27 consecutive seasons in England’s top flight, Southampton were relegated to the Championship in the spring of 2005. Financial turbulence and internal strife followed and shook the once stable club, which led to relegation to League One after four seasons in the Championship. Then the recovery began. With talents like Lallana and Oxlade-Chamberlain, they were promoted from League One after two seasons, and then gained a second successive promotion back to the Premier League in 2012. Southampton’s renaissance was thanks to the money made from sales of players nurtured by the club – deals which, since the relegation in 2005, had brought in around £36 million.
CLUB: Southampton FC
NICKNAME: The Saints
FOUNDED: 1885
STADIUM: St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton (32,505 capacity)
HISTORIC PLAYERS: Terry Paine, Mick Channon, Derek Reeves, Alan Shearer, Francis Benali, Matthew Le Tissier and Gareth Bale
Nicknamed by ‘Le God’ by Saints fans, Matthew Le Tissier was an exceptional ‘90s player and the first midfielder to score 100 goals in the Premier League. He had a career penalty kick record of 47 conversions from 48 attempts.
Best stadium in the world
Big stadium....!!!!
he stadium has four stands, which are named after the areas of Southampton they face. The main (east) stand is the Itchen Stand, and faces the River Itchen. The opposite stand is called the Kingsland Stand. Behind the south goal is the Chapel Stand, and to the north is the Northam Stand.
At the rear of the Chapel, Kingsland and Northam Stands, there is a continuous, translucent 'panel' that is designed to allow light to access the pitch. A large section of the roof at the Chapel Stand, at the southern end of the stadium is also translucent, for the same reason.
Nice ambience, huge place. Nice place to visit.
Great to be back. We'll organized, polite staff. The team doesn't look half bad either!
The glorious home of the Saints. The place to where thousands flock each week to laud and support their Gods as they do battle against their competitors. A humbling and exciting place, St Marys is a must visit.
Great stadium and good atmosphere and vibes.
As for the shop, unfortunately I was not given adequate service due to staff members chatting when I was in need of assistance. They failed to do their job...
A magnificent building, the staff in all areas were helpful and polite and took security seriously which was good to know. Pity Saints couldn't have played better but hey ho!
Could have been a better experience - the team played awful. Nice bottle of Hildon water though, toilets and venue up there as one of the top tier football venues.
Really nice stadium
Brilliant venue for the Rolling Stones concert.
Very generous hosts, gave us 3 points! UTW
The home of the local premiership team. Had a mixed season but at times have shown promise. If you like football then always worth a visit
had a fantastic time Southampton v Lester as a neutral lovely ground passionate fans only dwn point Southampton lost in additional time⚽️
The stadium wasn't in the best location and is over the road from a sand quary. However, for a conference venue it was great! The food was lovely and the bar decent
Great stadium, very clean. Prices for food/beer are very reasonable. Staff were helpful.
Came for a Christmas party was really nice. Staff are friendly. Premises was clean, however buffet food style service was a bit slow.
Just seen Rod Stewart and his fantastic band. Awesome. Great venue to see one of my favourite legends.
I support Saints. Enough said 😁
Place to watch some of the finest Premier League players in Red and White.
Cheesy chips were nice but a bit overpriced, however the worst thing about it was Alex McCarthy. Unbeaten in 2019 and the a loss to Cardiff!! Unbelievable.
Very good
I go here with my dad and monkey cheeky my favourite player is Danny ings but I am from Bournemouth but love see different types of teams and supports
love it great atmosphere
Great match. Half time facilities very very poor. Using their loos terrible. We queued for a drink and food got close to the counter to be told no more food 🤔😪
Great afternoon, well organised and polite staff
Home of the best team on the South Coast. Brilliant stadium - every seat has a good view unlike many other grounds in the EPL
Gorgeous stadium and a wonderful tour. Wish we would have been in town for a match. Maybe next time!
Very good atmosphere
So well organised outside toilets were checked and clean everyone was in good spirit lovely venue food was ok pies or burgers but fine .
Brilliant friendly atmosphere. I have never seen any trouble at the games. It always good to see a wide range of ages .
Difficult to get to as traffic can be horrid. Very expensive to park near ground and on the site of an old gas works. A shame really as the stadium is actually one of the better 'new' ones.
I enjoyed seeing 👀 the St Mary's stadium 🏟 for the first time. not been. or seen it before and the concert was fab. xxx 👍 😍 👍 ♥️
St Mary's Stadium is a useful place for Saints and opposition fans to enjoy the match whenever happens during the football (soccer) season.
Fans and visitors are welcome.
Lovely large venue, I know it's a football ground but great for out door concert's, well organized
Poor match but great atmosphere and one of the more family-friendly experiences I have had at stadia. Plenty of parking and food available at kiosks outside or just inside but more expensive.
Fantastic stadium great atmosphere watched my first football match Thursday 8th Dec 16. Staff friendly and helpful.
Atmosphere AMAZING great to be back but peple swearing all the time in the family stand
What a fantastic stadium. I really loved it a d the atmosphere. Come on you lot get promoted to where that stadium deserves to be
A decent stadium, went for concert not football. Concourse spacious, seating as usual for stadiums.
Fab concert. Was well managed, no trouble and despite 31,000 leaving at same time, no issues. Overall pretty impressed
It is amazing how near we are from the players. The ladies toilet are very good. They do have refreshments, but the queue is long.
Great service and staff, though some items are mildly overpriced. The pitch and stadium itself is well built and has a clear view over the field.
We can see the players clearly even from the farthest bench. Perfect interior color design. No matter how the match is, we always enjoy the game.
Great evening with the Rolling stones, staff and security very pleasant and helpful, if a little confused about handbag sizes allowed in from one member of staff to the other as what they allowed through
Nice to experience and walk away into next round of cup.
I enjoy the games there when the team playing well Thank God for Sparkie returning as our new manager 2018 end of the season to save The Saints Jonathan
Would be even better if we don't go down and played like we did 4 years ago. Team needs to improve this season but still love this place.
Never actually been here for the football, just a couple of events. Good venue, friendly staff.
I have also worked here as a techy for an event which was enjoyable.
Mostly positive. Food outlets still long ques at half time.
Excellent game and brilliant facities.
Freindly.....loud....even though my team Norwich... lost had a great time with my eldest son Ben celebrating his 31st.Birth
An ok stadium. Just like many others in the premier league. Good view as.long as you're not too near the pitch.
My little girl loves this place
Great for an away fan, good facilities and friendly staff. Burger vans outside stadium are super rank, but thats the same for most stadiums.
The stadium store is awesome, the ground is also very awesome but then I'm biased as a Saints fan
Loved it my grandson first time he was over the moon
Really lovely scenery. Waiting for when we can walk in to have a look as guests
Great stadium good seats with good views of the pitch. Plenty of food and drink outlets and large store.
