A great place for kids but take a change of clothes for them! They'll love all the muddy activities. Good walks for dog walkers but be careful of pond weed, The trail is free for over sixties but could work out rather expensive for young families on a budget with kids, I'd have given this place 5 stars but took one off for the two pounds parking charge.

It's been over 19yrs since I last came and today I wondered why I left it so long. I hired a double kayak for an hour at £30. Easy to book online and turned up to confirm booking and was able to go get our bouany aids and get straight out there. It's £2 for parking so make sure you've got the coins ready. There is a cafe, but we had brought a picnic that we had sat by the side watching the ducks and everyone out there. Toilets and changing areas are available and clean. There are other things to do like walking, activity trail, fishing, sup, windsurfing and sailing. They also advertise lessons.... so give it a go

Fab day out. £2 car park(coins needed on arrival)...water assault course excellent. Cafe plenty of toilets take chairs and your own picnic. Can spend all day doing activities or watching and relaxing

Not cheap but we were able to go round Adventure Trail before and after lunch. Definitely need a change of clothes for when you have been in the must water. Limited house down after and cafe is expensive treat but it was a really fun day.

What a 5⭐ water fun family day out we had at Manley Mere. The Muddy Trail was not as muddy as the kids would have liked, due to the recent heatwave, but it was still awesome fun for us all. To avoid overcrowding you have to book your place/slot for the water Play Park, Muddy Trail, if you want to use your own ( self launch) paddle board or boat, my advice is to book early to avoid disappointment.

Thank you to Kate, David and the rest of the team at Manley Mere for making our end of year 6 leavers afternoon so brilliant. The food was perfect, the staff were lovely and the girls all loved their best lives on the adventure trail having probably all brought a huge chunk of mud home from their water antics each! Truly memorable day and would highly recommend.

Family paddle boarding. Had a fantastic time, lovely clean place. Highly recommend. I've added this after going back, was a bit upset as there was two dogs off leads around lake jumping in and also kids with same group, told women at reception see said she would go and have a look and didn't even come out ? I think the women with dogs may know or live there as one of the dogs was left there where house was . That's probably why women didn't go and have a word , rules are dogs on leads which to be fair you should do always as not everyone feels safe around them

Excellent day out. The staff were so friendly and they keep on top of making sure the site is beautiful, picking up litter etc and good prices. I would recommend the centre opens later especially during the holidays as 5pm shut is a let down and would have liked to stay longer. Thankyou!

Great value for money, self launch a water craft (paddle board, wind surf or kayak) only £15 for all day and you can spend as much time on the water as you like. Opening times 11am till 5pm and you can have as many people as you like.

Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty to do and try. We went for our first time and did 2 person kayaking. Included in the price was 1 hour rental of the kayak and life vests. Floor was muddy/silty under foot, so water shoes would be recommended. Couple of patches of pond weed, but generally clear, cold and nice to be in. Not too deep, around the edges.

17 of us turned up here today to do the adventure trail. The kids and dads loved it, everybody got covered in mud and was very happy about it. Afterwards the kids all had a swim in the mere to clean off. It's good value for money here and I'm sure we'll be back. I believe it's £10 to launch a watercraft on the mere.

First time here and kids loved it take extra clothing as you can't help join in the muddy fun. Lots of places to enjoy a picnic and didnt spend long waiting for next obstacles. Will definitely go again.

Great fun! Been twice before both times in September and both times it was raining, think the rain made it more fun! Today weather was really nice but still had loads of fun! Son missed 2 of his last birthdays due to covid so decided to go soon as we could. Son and his mates well enjoyed it , especially the dunking chair and the zip line over the water. Will be coming back to do the aqua park and a go on the boats! Returned on August bank holiday Monday to do the boats unfortunately the aqua park was fully booked or so we thought! Heard some folk say they'd managed to get on at 3 o'clock, so off we went to see if we could get booked too and result! Got in at 4 o'clock, had a bit of a wait but occupied ourselves with a walk and a chill. The aqua park is easily the best thing there 😁😁 Back again in June 2022 with Lad and his mate. Seems the inflatables have been upgraded and cleaned!

The place was great and will go again depending on weather (see rest of review). Parking a bit too small and spaces very tight which you have to pay for. Need option of money back when weather not suitable on rentals. Rented 2 kayaks and the wind was that strong we got stuck in the weeds at the far end of the lake. We then had to climb out, drag the kayaks out and drag them back to the other side of the lake. Didnt get chance to explore the lake in the kayaks or given option to rebook when weather more permitting.

Nice location. Great lake. Truly ridiculous food prices in the cafe. Very nice staff and great food. But £4 for a small chips is ridiculous. Cost £40 for a very simple lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Awesome day on the adventure trail. You can go in and out as much as you like. You can also avoid obstacles and walk round if you want to. Very good day out for kids/teens and adults! Can also walk with dogs which is good, if you take poo bags obviously. Highly recommend. Only downside was we all got bitten a few times by gnats, so I suggest long trousers and not shorts.

Very nixe and clean lake, suitable for all sorts of water sports. The adventure trail is an easy walk, even if you're not interested on the obstacles. You'll have to gauge the suitability of the obstacles yourself, depending on your own abilities. We had a little one who was terrified of the see-saw, but went in the break-neck zip line 40 times.... Lots of picnic spots, both secluded and on the path. Plenty of parking, changing rooms and toilets on site.

It is great fun. The kids love it. Take a change of clothes for afterwards, there is a small changing area if needed. Do take towels with you on the trail, the kids will get wet and muddy. You can spend a lot of time there if you want, so, if you fancy, take some food and drinks. If it's sunny, be prepared for it being very busy, get there early.

We did the Adventure Trail. Great fun if you've got kids, the obstacles always have a secondary route so if you don't want to do one, you can always go around it ( most are easy enough though so you shouldn't need to ). My advice is take a full set of clothes and a towel as it's quite easy to get wet or muddy or both!

As a family, We have been on the adventure trail a few times and absolutely loved it. The ages ranged from 8 to 66 and it included older teenagers who didn't look at their phones once. The trail lasts about 2 hours but you can revisit it as many times as you like throughout the day. Bring a change of clothes as you could get wet and muddy.

Now this is what i call a fun place, there are activities for small children, the food is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. The actual water sports park was honestly more entertaining than Alton towers and you feel as if there is loads to do in the hour. The price to go is relatively cheap for what you are able to do here. The only improvement that i could see that needs to be made is larger changing rooms because it gets slightly cramped with schools there. But overall, I would strongly recommend going here.

Amazing day out with my 12year old daughter and our 13 year old exchange student. We just did the trail a couple of times all 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed the mucky fun day! The only downside I would say was could do with another refreshment stand within the trail and may be another loo. Will definitely be back!!

Cheap hire rates for boats, spent an hour in Canadian canoe on the lake managing not to get wet thankfully. Restaurant looked great and bar well sticked but only had a coffee so can't comment on the food. Also tackled adventure trial, I'd say about 50% of it would be suitable for adults and was good fun. The kids that were there seemed to love it but were caked in mud by the end!

Went with the family - all 30 of us ageing from 3 months - 60+ and what fun we had. We started with a picnic by the lake at 12:30 before heading into the adventurer trail and before we knew it, it was nearly 5pm, all covered in mud and had a fantastic time, in fact I think the adults were worse in the muddy ponds than what the kids were ! The staff are very friendly and helpful, the whole area is very clean (apart from the mud of course) but even walking around the adventure trail it was very clean. The obstacles are great and there is always a different challenge just around the corner, in fact there is something to do all the way around and if you aren't feeling adventurous you can always take the easy path. The little kids loved the new boat. Make sure you have your £2 for parking so that you can get in through the barrier and I think the £9 charge to go into the Adventure Trail is not bad as you can have a good bit of fun with beautiful scenery, the lake is also lovely and can spend hours just pottering about with the kids. Certainly better and cheaper than the Crocky Trail. Have fun

our second visit today in lovely sunshine... 4 of us.. age range 52! to a 7 year old & a really healthy & fun way to spend 4 hours! top tips ... as the trail does a big loop... leave the picnic & change of clothes in the car... get you sports bra on mums & have a go at what you fancy with the kids!... unless it's raining, leave coats in the car as you'll soon be warm! I'd leave the dog at home too... then you can join in & not have to keep an eye on another member of the family... it's enough to keep your eye on the kids!... take FULL change of clothes for everyone! then you can relax when they & you get muddy & / or soaked! the cold water hoses are handy for getting the worst mud off but we always take old damp cloths, & old towels to wipe off excess mud & to stand on in changing rooms... take a bin bag or more for dirty clothes... but there is lots of woodchip on the paths so I hardly got muddy at all & did lots of activities. I prefer walking boots but wellies are great but not the fur filled type as they're a pain to dry. Once clean ... treat yourself to a hot drink in the cafe... it felt like a snow ski-ing bar to us! it really is a great way to spend any dry day this winter & I think £11 per person is great value. Normally Coach drivers get at least a free cup ot Tea or Coffee but to be charged £5.30 for a tea and a coffee does seem a bit extreme. Apart from that the two coach group's enjoyed their visit. Its a hidden Jem . Very clean. Ample parking both for coaches and cars.

Manley Mere is an excellent day out but like a lot of these things you need to go in with your eyes wide open. Unlike the kids on the zipwires or the ducking stool!First of all if the only criteria is getting wet and muddy this is the place; but do take towels and a change of clothes or you will be drying the kids on a car blanket, like me.

This is the land that Health&Safety forgot. And all the better for it. I'm writing about the adventure trail really, which with a plethora of welded metal over giant muddy ponds, and a landscape of shrieks and yelps and unfettered laughs. Check your foibles, prudence, and inhibitions in at the door and have a greak crack. Also has a pretty good boating/kayaking/windsurfing lake and facilities.
