Reviews of Woking Leisure Centre
Y. M.
Super cool! Lovely leisure centre with lots of fun items and everything you need! Although got stuck in one of the changing rooms for swimming..
But that’s okay! Would highly recommend! Lovely cafe, people, staff, swimming pool, sports centre, soft play and outdoors park! And very very nice cool vending machine that works!!!
F. T. E.
Best leisure center I've been to so far. The park is amazing and we absolutely loved the indoor leisure pool, complete with rapids and artificial waves every now and then. The crowd control is good which makes your swim much more enjoyable so be patient if end up waiting in line for a session. It's worth it. There is a little kiosk outside by the park that takes card.
P. C.
We just held a 6 year old party at the soft play. The staff were all superstars and made the whole thing so easy. The softplay itself is really good and easily accommodated the ~40 children.
D. S.
Good place to loose weight or just keep yourself engaged with numerous activites. Very supportive staff and always filled with people.
D. H.
Quiet, well laid out soft play with sensory toys as well as usual climbing frames, slides etc. Small toddler area and some climbing blocks laid out for even smaller children.
D. B.
Can't fault it. The staff are nice and will fill up your water bottle since there's no water fountain. I guess no water fountain it a bit of a fault for a leisure centre...
L. K.
Booked our daughter's 5th birthday party in the softplay area.
Huge 3 or 4 level soft play area to which we had exclusive access, 30 kids running around and that could have easily doubled in terms of capacity. They were well contained and had an absolute blast.
Food area a bit of a hike and was shared, but nothing wrong with that, the room was split into sections. Lost a couple of parents for a bit between the rooms.
Would have liked a staff member in the softplay with the kids in case of an incident, but there wasn't one and staff were nearby.
All in all very happy.
R. V.
Great sport center. Great swimming pool.
Everything for very happy people !!!
S. B.
Great Leisure.centre. Good selection of activities/groups and lessons. Staff are friendly and the cafe is very reasonable. Some of the areas could do with a refurb but at half the cost of a private club it's tatty corner here or there is well worth overlooking.
G.
Really big leisure centre on multiple levels , really pleasant experience
B. S.
We came here with my children and several other families to use the inflatazone.
The staff were amazing, warm and helpful.
They were KIND to the children, and super polite.
We all had a great time - the inflatables are FAB and everyone was so happy!
Thank you for an amazing day!
G. A.
If you like theatre organ concert s it's well worth a visit to here the fantastic 3 manual 19 rank x Granada welling Wurlitzer they have about ten concert s a year there next concert is Christmas show well worth a visit .
H. Z.
Great soft play and outdoor play area for kids. Would be even better if there were a staff member present to oversee the soft play and refreshments available on the same floor.
R. C.
My child had there first stage 1 swimming lesson, the instructor was very good considering there was 4-5 other children in the pool and my son was clearly a beginner and the others were far more experienced, the viewing area for this was ok not may chairs.
How ever I tried 4 times to call them and no one picked up which was odd because there was 3 people at the desk when we arrived.
O. S.
Mostly good experience but let down by Reception not willing to serve hot drinks at 9pm, though Centre is open until 10. Understand need to clean etc. but surely hot water, tea bag and dash of milk in a paper cup is still possible? It seems the full leisure experience excludes those who can't get there earlier. Shame.
J. C. S.
Good facilities for sports and leisure. Will go back again.
S. R.
Need a cafe in soft play area and needs baby changing table in soft play area other that that my nephew had a brilliant time thankyou
M. H.
Good staff very friendly and clean place
R. S.
Much improved squash courts and lovely cafeteria available inside and out! Parking is free for three hours, but payment required if staying longer - because you love the Centre and the Park so much!!
S. B.
Went to grandma's attic, had nothing we wanted.
M. O.
A large leisure centre for Woking. Some working on the Front desk can be unhelpful at times. People in the Gym are lovely.
S. H.
Very helpful staff. Great for primary year kiss, not so great for babies.
N. A.
Good lane swimming pool, not too crowded, showers could be better, we were queuing for them but that could have been the busy time I tried used them.
J. C.
I'm a member, mostly use the gym, staff are brilliant and efficient and very friendly. I've made some good friends at the gym too. Adam is my personal trainer who is very good. I do a lot of boxing . Definitely worth a join.
I. V.
Took my children here for a birthday party. They had great fun. Nice place.
M. L.
Excellent leisure centre in a great location in Woking. I have played Football, Cricket, Badminton, Squah, Table tennis and also used the gym and have to say all their facilities are very good. Their gym has most of the new machines.
The reception staff are very well presented and courteous. The changing rooms are spacious and clean.
A. S.
I like Woking Leisure. The pitches are good quality, the general facilities are quite good, staff are friendly. I don't have a gym membership here, I'm told the gym isn't great, but for the stuff that I've used its been very good.
j.
I've been using the leisure centre almost every week for the last 3 years and it's been fantastic. So far I have played badminton and table tennis but I have observed lots of other activities and I know people who go there for squash, gym, spin class and swimming.
I always find the reception staff very well presented and the staff are courteous and polite. By the entrance there are pods so if you are a member you can just swipe in. A one hour game of badminton is £3,80 which is very reasonable.
The toilets and [male] changing rooms are spacious and clean, and there are always plenty of lockers. I haven't used the showers but I've seen plenty of guys go in and they seem ok.
They used to hire out badminton rackets but I think they stopped doing it for some reason. However, you can buy them from them (I bought two for £20 each).
All the sports areas are also very clean and tidy and everything is very well signposted.
All in all I've had a great experience and would recommend it for anyone wanting to try some sports or swimming.
H. E.
I don't think many leisure centres can say that they have a Wurlitzer in one of their sports halls! I've been here twice now for concerts and both times it's been a good experience. The Wurlitzer itself makes a brilliant sound and the centre is clean with friendly staff.
P. D.
Staff polite and friendly with a range of pools; lagoon, training and completion.
The lagoon great fun with a range of water of slides, my daughter has enjoyed going down the slow slide with me since she was 1.
Would have been a 5 star rating but it does need a face lift as its looking tried.
G. C.
We have been exercising at the Leisure centre for 10 yrs now. Absolutely amazing. The staff and gym instructors are phenomenal. We love going to the gym.
T. P.
I greatly enjoy the Leisure Centre with my child, there are plenty of activities for all ages/interests. For us, the best parts are the lagoon, the soft play and other activities geared towards families/children such as their monthly "Go Bananas" segment. The staff is mostly very kind and helpful, some were above and beyond helpful with first aid help when my son suffered a small accident in their cafe a few months ago.
M. M.
The gym is well equipped, lots of classes to choose from. Plenty toddler and children activity although the soft play area is a bit dirty constantly. The showers in the lady's changing are should be refurbished.
N. D.
Great soft play, swimming pool and outdoor playground. Good value if you get a 'The Key' card from the leisure centre first. Only downside is the pricey but average cafe otherwise it would have got 5 stars.
C. S.
We went to a model railway exhibition in the leisure centre, and the building was exactly as I remembered it from years ago. Inside the centre, it's enormous with at least 3 huge halls. So if you're planning an event, this place is perfect
O. M.
The facilities are nice, always modernising and upgrading. The football 3G pitches have all had their surface changed and it is now 5 stars quality.
T. S.
Great place but shame about the service at the costa coffee shop... the girl made us the wrong drink but didn't applogise or offer to make us the correct drink and despite us saying thank you at the end she ignored us and started serving the next customer!
E. F.
Did the inflateazone during half term...was fantastic fun
A. M.
I like the range of machines, however I do feel is a bit crowded, especially the only mat zone. Also, more mirrors would be a big improvement. Staff really nice and helpfull all the time.
f. e.
Sunday morning, decided to kill a couple of hours in the gym here while my son played in a nearby tennis tournament. I wasn't expecting anything great but from the moment I walked in I experienced nothing but polite professionalism, clean working equipment and gym members that were there to workout (no creepers, peepers or roid ragers!)
I pay ££hundreds monthly to use a well-known gym chain in the sq mile and it comes nowhere near what I experienced here.
Maybe I was lucky, but this remains one of the best gyms experiences I've had.
J. C.
A great place to visit for all kinds of leisure activities. There are plenty of very popular fitness options that are available throughout the day. The staff are very helpful and are able to answer questions nd the cafe has a variety of snacks and drinks to choose from.
M. P. (. P.
Visited the softplay here. Initially we thought the £3.60 was a little steep (when compared with other soft play places we have been to) but the ball pit on it's own is worth the entry fee! There is a huge helter skelter which is 3 stories (soft play stories) high and ends in the ball pit, great fun for the kids. This was certainly the highlight, but there were plenty of other interactive play things to entertain kids of all ages.
A. S.
Badminton is great here. On Tuesday, you can join for a "No Strings Attached" session (not as dodgy as it sounds) fron 8pm-9pm. Players are friendly, welcoming and inclusive of different abilities.
J. C.
Went to the Christmas Fair. It was very quiet but most people were wearing masks.
S. L.
Following a major refurbishment of the gym here last year, Woking leisure centre begins to have some appeal. The machines are modern, many, and there's a good variety of free weights. The optional induction on joining was worthwhile - not simply how to use the equipment, but tailored to give a taster of what a personalised session could offer. Shame the coffee shop doesn't have a barista - slow service and slow queues make you give up unless you have someone to chat to while you're queueing.
J. B.
Great 3G pitches
p. b.
The over 50s walking basketball session is fun
V. L. S.
It's usually empty from when it opens at 1230 to after the school kids get there at about 4. It's three stories high, lots of things to play with and is. Great way to play with your preschool child.
J. C.
There are so many activities on all day people are spoilt for choice. The gym is very good with lots of up to date stations to choose from and trainers are knowledgeable and can give you you your own personal workout.
T. S.
Good but outdated and toilets were dirty
T. W.
Beer festival here is superb, Good facility for this which has been held for many years. No sporting facilities available the night of the beer festival. Every year there are disappointed sports customers!
G. F.
Fantastic for roller skating roller disco once a month. Cafe open too and only £6 including skates and pads plenty of car parking great atmosphere
M. H.
Good facilities thought some sections need updating.helpful staff. Grounds are beautiful, have a park and Picnic benches. Lots of space to walk and do outdoor activities
J. C.
Loads of classes all through the day makes this place a great place for all kinds of workouts. Staff are all very helpful and if no the rare occasions there's something they don't know they will find for you.
D. H.
[on knees] Dear Lord, please find a way to convince the local authorities to invest in the refurbishment of this facility. Concrete was never a particularly attractive material but now gives this place a Soviet-era vibe. Thank you, oh Lord
L. G.
Friendly staff with good facilities, Costa Coffee, Beauty Salon, Massage, Osteopathy. Great place to find groups to join, walking, badminton, Zumba. Lots for kids, trampolining, ball pit.
P. W.
perfect venue for a fair, all facilities excellent
m. w.
Excellent venue for an antique fair, highly recommended.
A. H.
Great place. Gym, swimming, Martial arts, badminton and almost every sport available
R. K.
Soft play needs to be updated not much for very young children
m. p. c.
Been enjoying the facilities for over 20 years. Professional Team Adam, Charlie, Martin and others in the gym. Reception staff Jess and others fabulous. Thank you folks
A.
Wide variety of classes. Not expensive, but the building could be a bit renovated. Toilets also could be kept in better condition.
l. m.
Great place to work out. Amazing Covid social distancing respected by all. The staff work very hard to ensure this.
C. V.
Usually crowded during peak hours. Not to good guidance by staff, unless you pay for it. However, all facilities meet high standards of hygiene.
S. M.
Big facility for swimming, swimming lessons for children and adults, good water condition, no smells of pee, friendly staff, a small cafe on premises. On Thursday open swim until 9pm.
J. C.
Very modern gym and well trained trainers. There are plenty of work stations and free weights. There are showers and a steem room.
O. B.
Lots of parking availability. One of the biggest leisure centres I've been to. Many astro turf pitches out the back that can be hired out. Friday night project is £3 for 2 hours of football
E. B.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Classes are brilliant and the gym is wonderful although the cafe staff were a bit rude and service was slow
L.
Really good. The swimming pool is great - but the flumes require you to be at least 8 years old
L. G.
Feel safe here and some ok dance classes 👌
A. S.
Great local facility for all sorts from indoor football to tennis and badminton. There are three swimming pools and an outdoor cricket pitch as well
B. H.
It's a great place to visit although the reception could mention that lockers need 20p before finding out in the basement.
D. H.
Fantastic facility, thanks to all the staff
d. a.
Best place to visit in Woking is this place, you have a park, play ground, pool, racket game, gym and many other things. Best time to visit is in the morning or evenings.
J. P.
I really enjoy how the gym is never really busy. Even though they play the worst radio stations to workout to.
E. C.
Friendly and kind staff; a great cafe to visit!
K. P.
