Great swimming pool for kids of all ages. Lots of parking available too. The newly refurbished changing rooms look great, and there are plenty of lockers available (don't forget to get a token from reception). The reception staff were very helpful, and even let us try a swim vest on one of the kids before we bought it to make sure it fitted right. In the pool there are three slides, the large blue one for bigger kids and adults, a snake slide for kids up to age 8, and a very small elephant slide for toddlers. Wave machine comes on every 30 mins or so, and is lots of fun! Especially like that the depth of the pool is graduated all the way to the shallow end. We also had lunch in the cafe and paid £1.50 per child for the pirate ship soft play area. All round good value for a few hours out!

This is a good leisure centre especially for the kids but seems a little short staffed for the size of it. The changing rooms need more regular attention and the outside looks exactly like it did 20 years ago. Time for make over? Also not a lot of sign posting to the car park and where to go once you park up. You have to sort of walk under the building and up some steps where loads of kids gather around you. That could be quite daunting for some. There's no lift there so my disabled mother in law had to walk back and get in the the car to be driven right the way around the front. Again not enough sign posting about that either. In contrast the reception staff were really lovely and helpful and the cost for both the swimming and hire of the basket hall were very reasonable.

Great day out !!! The wave machine and water slide is always a hit. Especially 'family fun' event at the pool. Great little cafe upstairs with soft play area. You MUST by a locker token (on a keyring) at the desk, but you can keep it and re-use.

Can only comment on the swimming pool and reception as that is all that we used (on this visit). Receptionist was very helpful and informative as the lockers in the changing area only accept the old style pound coins. Toilets were very clean. Changing rooms were big enough for myself, my husband and our small child to fit as it was Saturday morning and busy, the family sized change area was in constant use. The pool was quite busy but we still managed to get to an area for swim practice and our little one built up his confidence in the water and did go down the slides in the child's area on his own and went down the larger slide with his father. I was surprised to see people carrying phones in the pool area as most local pools that I have been to say that phones cannot be taken into the pool area.

Pool is great, just as I remember it as a kid in the 90s. The wave machine was a lot of fun. My only down point is the changing room floors weren't clean.

The outside looks extremely dated, but for the money the facilties are good. The pool is relatively big, the waves are entertaining for the kids, the slide has been there 30 odd years, so has the crocodile 🐊 in the kids bit but the whimsy and nostalgia make it fun - even if they are a bit rusty and showing their age. Facilities are okay, a wee bit dirty in the cubicles, but we went on a sunday evening so it was bound to be a bit scruffier as they were closing in a bit. The shower water is hot and the angles are bloody awful, other than that good value for money and fun for kids.

We visited on Sunday and although it was super busy and the que was right into the car park, the lady with the short hair and glasses handled it so well we where all given numbers and invited into the cafe and to use the soft play while we waited. The newly refurbished changing rooms are lovely and so warm! You just need to remember 20p for hairdryer as we weren’t told on the till. We can’t wait for our next visit.

Kids loved it. It's got a wave machine that goes off every 30 mins. A small snake slide for 4's and unders and a big snakes slide for big kids and adults. Bit rough round the edges at the moment while it's going through its refurbishment but don't let that put you off.

Go here for the gym, it's not the biggest place around but it's got everything you need and the place is well kept, always clean and tidy and I love the functional room with the sled, KBs, battle rope etc that add something different and fun to your workouts! And for the price it's great!!

My little boy loves going to little splashes here. The swimming pool is nice and is abit like a beach, starts out shallow then gets deeper the further you go. It also has a wave effect they can turn on and my boy likes going to see the plastic crocodile that's near the kiddie slide. My only criticism is that the pool seems to be one of the most cooler pools I've been in and even though I'm not cold as such you can feel the chill on the water.

Good pool, slide is fun and the wave machine was cool, however the pool is not that big and the place was rammed. There is no room to swim and this is more of a child's fun pool so dont expect to do lengths. It's timed, 1.5hrs before your colour is called and you are out.

Great family friendly pool with waves and a few slides for different ages. Can be quite busy. But we as a family tend to go around 5pm and the pool seems to be alot quieter. Reception staff really friendly. Most importantly it's not too expensive either.

Pool great fun with slide and waves. lovely little pool for infants with mini slide and various animal figures. Recently attended a roller disco party at PM- Great fun. The kids had the use of the huge hall and loved the disco. They also have a drop in roller disco session on a Saturday morning. 😀

Great place for whole family. Swimming pool offers entertainment for kids in all ages. Big slide, fake waves and small slides for little ones too. All of that in fairly cheap price. You paying for 1,5 hrs admission and they will make sure that poll is not overcrowded. Strongly recommend :)

Really good pool with a wave machine and a slide and it's also got a kids pool with a further two slides. The only downside is the amount of family changing rooms (there's just not enough) oh and the pool is sometimes on the chilly side but apart from that it's a great little place to take the kids.

I have loved this place since I was a boy. We had nothing like it where I grew up, so coming here, with the slide and waves, was a massive treat. Now I take my own kids here when on holiday. My kids love it so much that my youngest thinks Plas Madoc is Wales...

Fabulous leisure centre. Been coming here for over 20 years. We even travel across Wales in the holidays for the kids to enjoy the pool. They have a cafe upstairs, and a spectator area next to the pool, which can get a bit warm. They have a jungle gym soft play for the youngsters at the café and a sauna too I believe. As well as a large hall for sports.

First time here with our daughter while visiting family in Wales. Great facilities and great value. Only 4 star as I think a few bits could do with being updating here and there to tidy it up but overall it's a fantastic place.

Leisure centre with a fun pool that has slides, warm water and waves! Saved by the community from council closure.Being upgraded year on year.New squash court, new spin room,new gym equipment installed,etc, etc .Only reason 4 instead of 5 star rating is the tired changing rooms which will hopefully be upgraded once they secure funding.Well worth a visit!

Great place, been coming here since I was young too, kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the wave machine hooter still brings a smile to my face. Lots of varied fitness classes, squash courts fitness room. Everything you need from a leisure Centre. Good Cafe upstairs too.

So the pool is good. Theres a little area for younger kids and then a bigger pool. Theres a slide for older ones and a wave machine. Kids loved it. A couple of things let it down. The changing rooms are a warren and complicated in my view and the pool water smelled a bit wierd.

Swimming pool is clean and tidy, changing rooms are tired and in need of some TLC, plenty of cubicles either had doors that didn't lock or weren't there at all. Floors were dirty and looked as if they weren't cleaned again from the morning, maybe a cleaner who goes through on a regular basis wouldn't go amiss.

Brilliant pool. My boys love this pool. It has a slide and waves, it also has a very shallow side pool for smaller swimmers . More of a fun pool than for a relaxing dip but still great.

Not the cleanest pool and changing rooms. Lots of the changing room doors are off and they're isn't enough space for all the people milling about. Wave pool is very fun for the kids.

Sadly council closed this excellent facility despite massive protests. Hopefully was reopened thanks to community action group applying to take over and run the centre. Extremely popular and well used. Grant from Welsh Assembly has meant recent major refurbishing including roof and plant room with external painting also. Free on site parking with accessible spaces. Accessible lift to upper floor and cafe. Staff very friendly and willing to help, with numerous activities and classes being held daily. Only pool in Wrexham county to have level access so wheelchair users and those with mobility issues can access pool direct. Special wheelchair available also if needing to get into the water that way. Have Facebook page. May also be referred to as Splash Magic.

This place is apparently run by volunteers. I care here as a child and it’s not changed in decades! They have the same wave machine, slides and locker band system (you need an old pound coin or trolley token). One of the things that lets this place down is the mess that CUSTOMERS leave behind. Dirty nappies left on the floor of the changing rooms and not even in a nappy bag. Yes they have cleaners but at the volume of people that go through the doors and the cheap entry (£5 for me and my under three child) it’s no surprise they can’t keep it spotless. If you go with an open mind (it’s CHEAP). It’s much fun but be prepared that it’s a little rough around the edges and sometimes the hot water showers run out of hot water you won’t be surprised or disappointed!!

Plas Madoc Leisure Centre is now rebranded SPLASHMAGIC and is being run by group of volunteers who took over at the beginning of December. This is a fantastic facility and well worth visiting. The beach pool is particularly good for young children or anyone who has difficulties getting in and out of a normal swimming pool.

Took our 3 year grandson, he loved it but the changing room floors were dirty.

Had a nice swim this morning. The changing rooms are so modern, they look appealing to the eye. Although I'd recommend taking sliders/flip flops as the floor is super super slippy. I'd say it's quite dangerous. The slides are good!

(Translated) Quite well-equipped pool. Maybe not the cleanest but it has interesting attractions. Two slides, big and small. They make a wave in the main pool, and you can use the accessories armlets or inflatable seats for small children and slats for the novice, everything is free. (Original) Całkiem dobrze wyposażony basen. Może nie najczystszy ale ma ciekawe atrakcje. Dwie zjeżdżalnie, duża i mała. Robią falę w głównym basenie, i można korzystać z dodatków typu naramienniki czy dmuchane siedziska dla małych dzieci oraz deseczki do ćwiczenia dla nowicjuszy, wszystko darmo.
