If you need organic vegetables, fruits or vegan products probably this place is your best choice in the Easton-Fishponds area. Reasonable prices, great selection of goodies, loose leaf teas, helping and vivid staff! Get wrapping free pastas, seeds, flour, even spices. Definitely one of the best shopping places!

A great little vegan/vegetarian shop with a large range of loose (by weight) nuts and pulses, together with vegetables and other stuff. Also has a small cafe with excellent vegan choc brownies and cakes.

Gorgeous produce, brilliant selection of refills, love that they stock eco-friendly nappies too! Only problem my husband and I have found is that the staff are not particularly friendly. On enquiring if they had more jumbo oats (the dispenser was empty) the guy gave me a big eye roll, pointed to a 1kg PLASTIC bag of oats and walked off...not exactly what I was after. Not a smile. Not a word. This isn't the first time we have felt like we're really bothering the staff and being an inconvenience. Won't be returning here in a hurry

Best local shop ever. A true Aladdin's cave of fruit, veg and organic food stuffs. Particularly impressed with the range of never before seen mushrooms and what the owner describes as 'boom ting' lettuce. Every time you go in you'll find something you didn't see before (this time it was the detergent refills station, pictured). Magic!

Mainly low mile sustainably grown fruits ang veg, almost no plastic anywhere, lots of vegan and vegetarian options and nice friednly staff. And you won't have to sell a kidney either (mostly).

I recently moved to Bristol. Matter wholefoods has been the place where I am going to do my shopping. They have a big selection of vegetables and grains. toothpaste, bio detergent. Organic eggs and daily fresh bread. The staff is friendly and you feel safe there. Definitely, a nice place.

Enjoying Joe’s Bakery Online Delivery on the Good 60 Site and then looked for another Shop selling Fruit and Veg as part of the brilliant Good 60 website. Box of fruit came with my Bread/cakes/savouries from Joe’s Bakery. Dived straight in with the apples,bananas,apricots and cherries 🍒 Fresh ,delicious and a lovely range of fruit which you decide on your choice of Box. Delighted, Thank You.

Great to have a home grown business selling organic and vegan produce. The owners and staff are really friendly. Their own brewed Kombucha is fantastic. Try their Matter Fast Food takeaway as well.

Organic produce with a smile. Lots of locally made chocolate products that I find too tempting to resist. They serve tasty treats to eat on site with a seating area outside. The place also acts as a venue for various social activities and classes which all in all make it a valuable asset for the community which is well worth supporting.

Expensive. Edited to add after a 9 month hiatus: I usually go to the Betterfood Company for my refills, but I decided to use my local supplier of fabric conditioner refills - Matter Wholefoods. Again I came away with a fabric conditioner refill costing me £4.50 for 1.5 litres, when the Betterfood company is £2.60 for the same amount. I want so much to believe that the products are not more expensive because I support what the shop is doing essentially and it's my local and I'd rather support local businesses. But I can't afford to spend that much on refills. So yes. I stick to my original review that the shop is, in my experience, more expensive than other wholefood/organic shops I shop at.

Top selection of local and more exotic organic fruits and vegetables. There is a modest selection of wholefoods (dried pulses, seaweed, flours, etc.) and there are juices, kombucha and chocolates available too. Lovely staff and a great local shop to support.

Great have access to fresh food with integrity in this part of town, all without the slightest hint of elitism. Expect floor to ceiling organic fruit, veg and grocery essentials (no dairy though) with juices and snacks available, accompanied by good vibes and conspiracy theories! Deserves to be supported.
