The foodhall here has been refurbished and it is absolutely stunning. Lots of floor space, low units to make it feel bigger, plenty of choice. There are ‘pour your own’ stations, a cheese counter, amazing bakery dept, coffee grinder and the fridges and shelving units have all been updated. I’m so impressed - I love it!

First visit for a while. Impressed by space between aisles and selection of gluten free pies including my favourite chicken and leek. Delicious. Super selection of garden plants. Lots of free spaces in car park. Will definitely be back soon.

Good local M&S stocked with the great range of ready meals, fruit and vegetables, drinks, sandwiches and the like. Clean and tidy. Friendly helpful staff. Sometimes the checkout queues are a bit long. The bus stop is right outside and is ideal when you have a lot of shopping to carry home. They have a small car park at the side of the shop. It is a bit tight to get in and out of but convenient.

This is a small food shop in comparison to most but it stocks all the essentials. The bakery section in the back bakes beautifully tasting and smelling goods which draws you towards them. There is a large selection of healthy option food. Vegetarian and vegan options and a large selection of sandwiches and salads for lunch choices. There is a frozen and dairy aisle stocking a great selection including cheeses and yogurts. My favourite thing to buy are the cherry brandy liquor chocolates from the confectionery aisle. There is a large selection of goodies to suit all tastes with the good reputation Marks and Spencer has. The queues move quite quickly for this busy little shop. The smell of the fresh baked goods wraps a warm hug around your heart.

I only popped in very quickly before getting a bus from the stop nearby. I picked up a small bunch of tulips, in excellent condition, for £3, and a ready meal near the front. Checkout assistant was a bit stoic and rushed me. Most unlike the main shop. I would like a proper look round and will review again when I have. I'm not often up that way though. I wish there was 1 near me!

I've never met Mark or Spencer, and I probably never will, but I bet they're a nice couple of chaps. I would like to meet them and shake their hands/fist bump them/high five/bump elbows/what ever the congratulatory greeting of the time is as they've made the best ready made lasagne I've ever had. Handy shop, good selection for a small store, and well stocked and tidy. Only criticism was 2 colleagues were too busy chatting behind a till before proceeding to walk away leaving one poor woman to serve a large queue who on her own. Understandably service wasn't great due to this as she was clearly under pressure and people were visably agitated as staff on the shop floor could have assited. If you need to get in and out quickly, Sainsburys a few doors down has Selfscan so probably a better bet

Love the new M&S foodhall at the Gyle, with its refill stations, coffee grinding station, bakery, chicken rotisserie, sushi counter and excellent range of foods. Loads of self serve checkouts and even mini trolleys for toddlers! A very enjoyable shopping experience! ☺️

It goes without saying that the M&S standard of food is usually of the highest standard. However, what sets Morningside’s M&S apart are its fantastic staff. Over time, you get to know them by name and their customer service harks back to the days when both shop attendants and shoppers had that courteous rapport. Hannah, Melanie, Dolapo, Maria, Lorna, Patricia, Imogen and many others over the years exemplify a great brand and a concomitantly great service.

Befitting the general status of Morningside residents, this midsize Foodhall is well used. It’s unfortunate M&S don’t have more of these type of stores, rather than letting Aldi/Lidl seize the sector. The range of products and items is so much better and creative than the big brand homogeny of the ‘big 4’! In-store bakery, large range of ready meals, and good choice of raw foods. Queues can quickly appear at the bank of tills, but service is paid attention to.

It's been given an overhaul, so stuff that sells in London, is imposed here. Small overhead signs indicate what's in an Isle. Not exactly a model of visibility. Do M&S really know what customers in different areas really want? How long it lasts, who knows.
